자유곡면의 CAD 모델링을 위한 비접촉식 삼차원 형상측정 (Noncontact Type Three Dimensional Profile Measurement for CAD Modeling of Sculptured Surface)

  • An optical measurement method of three dimensional surface profiles which is named the slit beam projection is suggested and practically implemented. This method is intended especially for noncontact and fast digitization of sculptured surfaces for CAD modeling and die manufacturing. Its basic principles are based on geometric optics. Deatiled optical principles and an sub-pixel image processing technique to enhance the measuring resolutions are described in this study. The measuring performances of the slit beam projection are presented and discussed to demonstrate that an actual measuring accuracy of below .+-. 0.2mm can be achived over the whole measuring range(500mm*300mm*200mm)

삼차원 유동해석을 통한 침전조의 침전효율 예측 및 형상설계 (Shape Design and Prediction of Efficiency of Sedimentation Bed using Three-Dimensional Flow Analysis)

  • Three-dimensional flow analyses for two different ratios of radius to height of sedimentation bed are implemented to evaluate the effect of blockage ratio of center feed wall and angle of distributor on sedimentation efficiency, and to find the optimal value of those parameters. Sedimentation efficiencies for three different shapes are compared with and without rotation speed. And then, five different combinations of blockage ratio of center feed wall and angle of distributor are compared It reveals that the effect of blockage ratio of center fled wall and angle of distributor is considerable to sedimentation efficiency while rotation effect can be neglected and $0.55 and 33^{\circ}$for blockage ratio of center food wall and angle of distributor, respectively, ive the best sedimentation efficiency.

  • Given the tetrahedron-based octree approximation of a solid as described in part(I) of this thesis, in this part(II) a systematic procedure of 'boundary moving' is developed for the fully automatic generation of 3D finite element meshes. The algorithm moves some vertices of the octants near the boundary onto the exact surface of a solid without transforming the topology of octree leaf elements. As a result, the inner octree leaf elements can be used as exact tetrahedral finite element meshes. In addition, as a quality measure of a tetrahedral element, 'shape value' is propopsed and used for the generation of better finite elements during the boundary moving process.

  • A continuum-based shape design sensitivity analysis (DSA) method is presented for the acoustic radiation from thin body. The normal derivative integral formulation is employed as an analysis formulation and differentiated directly by using material derivative to get the acoustic shape design sensitivity. In the acoustic sensitivity formulation, derivative coefficients of the structural normal velocities on the surface are required as the input. Thus, the shape design sensitivities of structural velocities on the surface with respect to the shape change are also calculated with continuum approach. A simple disk is considered as a numerical example to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the analytical shape design sensitivity equations derived in this research. This research should be very helpful to design an application involving thin body and to change its acoustic characteristics.

램 가속기 성능 향상을 위한 예 혼합기 조성비 최적화에 관한 연구

  • 램 가속기에 대한 연구는 램 가속기의 작동 조건이 고온, 고압, 초고속이라는 점과 가속기 내부에서 급격한 화학반응이 수반된다는 특성으로 인하여 실험과 해석상의 상당한 어려움이 존재한다. 램 가속기는 작동 모드에 따라 탄체 후방의 열적 질식 조건을 이용한 열적 질식 모드(Thermally Choked Mode)와 탄체 표면에 형성되는 데토네이션파를 이용한 초폭굉모드(Superdetonative Mode)로 나뉘어진다. 본 연구는 초폭굉 모드로 작동하는 램 가속기의 작동 성능 향상을 위한 방법으로 수치 최적화 기법을 이용한 램 가속기 내부 예 혼합기의 조성비 최적화를 수행하였다. 설계 변수로는 수소와 질소의 조성비를 선정하였으며, 최적 설계 목표는 일정한 질량과 형상을 갖는 탄체를 초기속도 2500m/s에서 3000m/s로 가속시키기 위하여 필요한 최소 램 가속관의 길이로 정하였다. 본 연구에서는 구베법에 기반한 Simplex 방법 및 SLP(Sequential Linear Programming)등의 수치 최적화 기법을 적용하였고, 가속기 내부의 유동장은 해석의 효율성을 고려하여 이차원 비점성 유동으로 가정하였고, 비평형 화학반응 해석을 수행하였다.

거위목 벌브 형상을 적용한 중형 여객선의 부가저항 및 내항성능 (Added Resistance and Seakeeping Ability of a Medium-sized Passenger Ship with Gooseneck Bulb)

  • This research is focusing on the added resistance and seakeeping ability of the designed passenger ship with gooseneck bulb(Designed hull) which provide the improvement of resistance performance under calm water condition. By comparing the added resistances and seakeeping abilities of the reference hull and the designed hull form with gooseneck bulb, it is confirmed that there is little difference in the operational comfort and the reduction of ship speed. As a result, the applied gooseneck bulb in this study is verified for the applicability to medium-sized passenger ships with a good resistance performance.

국내 철도 차륜/레일형상 조합에 따른 차량 동특성 분석 연구 (A Study on Dynamic Characteristics of the Rolling-stock for the Combination of Domestic Wheel/Rail Profiles)

  • Railway wheel/rail contact conditions have influences on dynamic behavior of the rolling stock. If there are incompatibility problems between the wheel and rail, damages like wheel wear, wheel spalling, rail wear, etc are occurred. Especially wheel and rail profiles are important factors of vehicle curving performance, so compatibility studies between wheel and rail profiles have to be carried out preferentially. In this study, we have studied the compatibility between wheel and rail profiles of KNR conventional line to analyze the dynamic performances of the rolling-stock. Thus we showed the results relating to wheel/rail geometric contact, vehicle running performances as the change of wheel/rail combination.

소구경 배관내 아이스슬러리의 유동형상 및 압력강하 특성에 관한 실험적 연구(1) (Experimental Study on Flow Patterns and Pressure Drop Characteristics of Ice Slurry In Small Size Pipe (1))

  • To clarify the hydraulic characteristics of ice slurry which made from 6.5% ethylene glycol-water solution flowing through circular pipes of small diameter, experimental studies were performed. The flow pattern was observed and the pressure drop was measured in acrylic pipes with inner diameter of 24 mm. The results of flow visualization revealed that ice particles flowed along the top of pipes in the ranges of small ice fraction and low flow rate, while Ice particles diffused into the whole region of pipes flowed like a homogeneous flow for high flow rate and high ice fraction. An increase in frictional pressure drop was measured as the ice fraction increased in all pipes and unstable flow was observed for up-ward vertical pipe.

  • Pressure drop were experimentally investigated for ice slurry flowing in the acrylic pipes with inner diameter of 24 mm. Ice slurry was made from 6.5% ethylene glycol-water solution, and the pipes is consisted of horizontal, vertical (upward and downward) and $90^{\circ}$ elbow pipe. The ice Packing factor (IPF) and the flow rate of the experiments were varied from 0 to 30% and from 5 to 70kg/min respectively The measured pressure drop in various pipe positions were compared with those for the solution flow (IPF=0). The pressure drop was larder than that for solution flows as the IPF increased when the flow rate was low or very high. Sharp increases in pressure drop were observed for the cases when IPF is more than 70% in horizontal and vertical pipes, whereas the pressure drop increased with the IPF simultaneously in an elbow pipe.

  • Microscale heat transfer and microfluidics have become increasingly important to overcome some very complex engineering challenges. The use of very small passages to gain heat transfer enhancement is a well documented method for achieving high heat flux dissipation. In this study, the performance evaluation of micro-channel plated heat exchangers with straight, V-shaped and Y-shaped channels has been experimentally carried out under the counterflow condition. It is found that the mixing effect in V-shaped and Y-shaped channels enhances the heat transfer but pressure drop does not increase seriously in the range of low Reynolds number.
