A Study of New Approach on Elasto-Plastic Analysis of shell Structures (쉘구조물의 탄소성해석에 관한 새로운 해석법의 연구)

  • 연속체의 해석에 있어서, 특별한 경우를 제외하고는, 구조물의 개략적인 거동을 파악해야 될 경우가 종종 있다. 이러한 요구에 부응하기 위해서 강체요소법(Rigid Element Method)이라 불리우는 새로운 해석법이 개발되었다. 강체요소법은 원래 평정연구실에서 벽식프리캐스트 철근콘크리트 구조물의 탄소성해석을 하기 위해서 개발된 해석법에 착안하여, 내수벽과 같은 연속체에 적용함으로서 시작된 수치해석법이다. 그 후 저자들은 도통쉘, 구형쉘 혹은 이들이 조합된 쉘구조물에 적용할 수 있도록 개발 확장하였다. 강체요소법의 기본개념은 연속체의 분해된 각 요소를 강체(rigid body)라고 가정하고, 각 요소들은 요소의 강성으로 치환된 가상스프링으로 서로 연결되어 있다고 가정하여, 이 가상스프링의 거동을 평가함으로서 전체구조물의 거동을 파악하는 해석법이다. 이때 요소의 주변에 취해진 스프링은 해석을 단순화하기 위해서 축력, 면내전단력 및 면외전단력만을 전달한다고 가정하고, 요소의 강체변위(자유도)는 요소내의 임의의 한 점에서 취하며, 이 점에서의 강체변위(rigid displacements)는 요소의 주변에 취해진 스프링을 통하여 다른 요소로 전달된다. 상기와 같은 강체요소법의 개념을 연속체의 탄성 및 탄소성해석에 적용하면, 해석적 개념이 단순할 뿐만 아니라 구조물 전체의 자유도수를 대폭 줄여 컴퓨터 계산시간을 절약할 수 있는 잇점이 있고, 거시적인 모델(macroscopic modeling)과 미시적인 모델 (microscopic modeling)의 중간적인 성격을 가지기 때문에 구조물의 파괴상황에 대해서도 그 개략을 파악할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 강체요소법을 보다 일반화된 해석법으로 개발, 확장하기 위해서 종전에 단층스프링시스템(single-layer spring system)으로 해석이 어려웠던 문제점들을 보완한 복층프링시스템(double-layer spring system)을 사용함으로서 휨, 비틀림의 효과를 파악할 수 있는 이론적 개념을 적용한 새로운 구요소, 원통요소 및 평면요소를 개발하고, 이러한 강체요소들의 적합매트릭스의 유도 및 해석저긴 방법을 정식화하였다. 또 휨, 비틀림 및 전단력의 효과를 고려한 사각형원통요소 및 능형원 통요소를 이용하여 원통쉘의 탄성 및 탄소성해석할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하고, 이 프로그램으로 캔틸레버로된 연속형철근콘크리트 원통쉘의 탄성 및 탄소성해석에 적용하여 구조물의 거동에 관한 수치해석의 결과, 즉 내력의 분포, 균열의 진전, 파괴의 상황 및 변형의 상태 등을 파악해 보았다.

Analysis on Effect of Debris Flow Energy Mitigation by Arrangement of Cylindrical Countermeasures (원통형 토석류 대책구조물의 배치조건에 따른 에너지 저감효과 분석)

  • In this study, in order to analyze the effect of cylindrical baffles on the debris flow energy, small-scale tests were conducted using a flume with cylindrical baffles. Various row numbers of installed baffles were considered as a test condition. To investigate the scale effect of debris flow and cylindrical baffles on flow characteristics, large-scale tests were also performed according to varying row numbers of baffle for same baffle configuration with small-scale tests. Both small- and large-scale test results showed that the increase of row number of baffle increase the energy dissipation effect due to reduction of the velocity and flow depth of debris flow.

Design of Bi-stable Mechanism Using Cylindrical Permanent Magnets (원통형 영구자석을 이용한 쌍안정 장치 설계)

  • Bi-stable mechanism is a system that has two different stable equilibrium positions within its range of motion. It has an ability to stay in two different positions without external power input and despite small disturbances. One of the most bi-stable applied mechanism is a morphing system, such as deployable structures, switch systems, and robot grippers. However, due to the complexity of mechanism and limitation of structure configuration, it is difficult to apply on a morphing system with rotating link mechanism. In this paper, an implementation method of rotational bi-stable mechanism using cylindrical permanent magnets is proposed. The magnetic field and the magnetic force were calculated from electromagnet model of the cylindrical permanent magnet. Based on the model, the force relation between two links containing the cylindrical permanent magnets was estimated. An array of cylindrical permanent magnets was selected for symmetric bi-stability, and an experiment on the link structure with the proposed bi-stable mechanism was performed to investigate the stability against a external torque.

Effect of the Cylindrical Baffle Configuration Behind Rigid Barrier on Impact Load of Debris Flow (중력식 사방댐 후면에 설치된 원통형 대책구조물의 배치조건이 토석류의 충격하중에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigates the effect of cylindrical baffle arrays behind a rigid barrier on debris flow behavior and dynamic impact load. Small-scale tests were performed with various transverse blockage ratios and row numbers of baffles. High-speed cameras were installed at the flume's top and side, and load cells were installed in front of the rigid barrier. Moreover, glass beads simulated large boulders with debris flow in the flume. Test results revealed that the impact load of debris flow on the rigid barrier was significantly reduced using the cylindrical baffles behind the rigid barrier. In addition, the increased transverse blockage ratio of baffle arrays led to a greater impact load of debris flow because of flow suppression due to the baffle arrays.

  • Cylindrical structures such as pipes and shafts are widely used in various industrial facilities. Recently, researches on magnetostrictive transduction of torsional waves have been actively reported for the nondestructive evaluation of those cylindrical structures. However, the existing magnetostrictive patch transducer has somewhat inconvenient and time.consuming process like patch bonding to a structure since it should employ a magnetostrictive patch having strong magnetostriction. To overcome these limitations of the existing transducer, in this work, we develop a novel modular magnetostrictive transducer to generate and measure torsional waves to inspect a cylindrical structure. The proposed transducer can be applied as viscous liquid coupling with shear couplant or dry coupling without coupling media instead of patch bonding to a structure. We describe a detailed structure of the modular transducer and conduct some experiments to verify its performance.

A Study on the Strength of Honey-comb and Structure Reinforced by Cylindrical Reinforcement at Equivalent Mass (등가질량을 갖는 Honey-comb구조물과 원통형 보강 구조물의 강성에 관한 연구)

  • In general, the reinforcement of a structure is performed with cylinders. In this study, it is attempted to compare the safety Circular reinforcement with 4 fins and Honey-comb at the equal mass. Circular reinforcement with 4 fins have two kind of the models One has no hole in the upper and lower plates. The other has holes, and it is divided by 3 cases. And the maximum stress is investigated for the circular reinforcement with 4 fins and Honey-comb. The results shows that honey-comb is more strength than the others. And reinforcement with 4 fins of hole case2's maximum stress is 82% by compare 10 honey-comb.

The Study on Structural Strength Test Technique for Cylindrical Supersonic Vehicle Subjected to Severe Heating Environment (원통형 초음속 비행체 내열구조시험 기법 연구)

  • This paper describes the structural strength test technique and the results for cylindrical supersonic vehicle subjected to both aerodynamic load and thermal load. The special positioning system using spring links was designed to float, support and restrain the test airframe during the test and the down-time. The hydraulic system and the electric heating system were utilized to apply the aerodynamic load and the thermal load to the test airframe together. Particularly, several hundreds of infrared quartz lamps were used for the heating system, and the thermal test conditions were successfully simulated. The test results showed that this kind of high temperature test is adequate to verify the structure integrity and produce useful engineering data which is necessary for the possible structural modification under thermal environments.

크레인 하중을 받는 강재 격납구조물의 안전성 평가

  • 본 연구에서는 개방구(opening)을 갖는 원자력발전소 강재 격납구조물의 내력을 평가함에 있어서 기존의 실용 구조설계에 적용된 개구부가 없는 원통형 쉘의 좌굴 판정 기준이 적절하지 않음을 밝혔으며, 대안으로서 개방구(opening)를 갖는 원통형 강재 격납구조물의 재료적 비선형과 기하학적 비선형을 고려한 극한 내력 해석을 수행함으로써 중기발생기 교체작업시 유발되는 인양 하중에 대한 격납구조물의 구조적 안전성을 평가하였다. 개방구를 갖는 격납구조물에 대하여 stiffner가 있는 상태에서 크레인 하중에 대한 극한 내력을 평가해본 결과 크레인 하중이 재하될 경우, 구조물이 선형 탄성 범위에 있는 것으로 확인되었으며 개방구 주위의 국부적인 항복응력도달 상태에 대하여 10.8의 안전율을 확보 할 수 있는 것으로 계산되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 제시된 개방구를 갖는 강재 격납구조물의 극한내력 평가 방법은 유사 구조물의 구조건전성 평가에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Wave Deformation and Blocking Performance by a Porous Dual Semi-Cylindrical Structure (투과성 이중 반원통 구조물에 의한 파 차단성능)

  • The interaction of oblique incident waves with a porous dual semi-cylindrical structure is investigated under the assumption of linear potential theory. The porous dual semi-cylindrical structure consists of two concentric bottom-mounted cylindrical structures that are porous in front half and transparent in back half. By changing porosity, gap, and wave characteristics(wave frequencies, incidence angle), the wave blocking performance as well as the wave loads and the wave run-up are obtained. As a convenient measure of overall wave blocking performance, the root mean square(R.M.S.) of the wave elevation in a sheltered region is used. It is found that the porous semi-cylindrical structure may significantly reduce the wave response in a sheltered region and the wave forces decrease largely compared to the impermeable structure. The dual structure is more effective in reducing the wave response in a sheltered region than the mono type in the region of high frequencies.
