세계 연료유수급현황과 전망

  • 70년대의 잇따른 유가폭등으로 대폭 떨어지기 시작한 연료유 수요는 총 소비율로써 판단해볼 때 앞으로 더욱 더 떨어질 것으로 전망된다. 세계의 정제업자들은 분해시설을 설치하는 등의 수단을 통해 이에 대한 대책을 강구해왔다. 그러나 시장의 안정상태가 계속될 경우 오는 90년까지 그들은 연료유 생산을 하루 150만배럴 정도 감축해야 할 국면에 처하게 될 것이다. 현재의 계획된 분해시설 능력으로는 금년도 이후에 원유가에 대한 연료유 가격이 떨어지는 현상을 방지하기에는 너무나 미흡하다는 것을 지적하지 않을 수 없다. 이하에서는 미국의 유명한 컨설턴트 회사인 IFC의 석유시장 전문 컨설턴트 Theodore R. Breton씨의 연구 논문을 소개하기로 한다. <편집자주>

  • 미세탄소입자는 원소탄소(elemental carbon)와 유기탄소(organic carbon)로 분류할 수 있다. 원소탄소는 불완전연소 과정에 발생하는 검댕(black soot), 원유의 정제과정에 발생하는 흑연(graphite), 자연상태에서 만들어진 다이아몬드의 3가지 형태로 존재한다. 이들 중 대기환경에 영향을 미치는 요소는 검댕입자로서 입경은 l$\mu\textrm{m}$이하이며, 일정한 형태를 지니고 있지 않다. (중략)

Analyses of Phospholipids in Soybean Oils by HPLC (HPLC를 이용한 대두유 인지질의 분석)

  • The qualitative and quantitative analyses of phospholipids in chloroform-methanol extracted crude and hexane extracted deodorized soybean oils were carried out by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The phosphorus contents in hexane extracted crude, degummed, refiend, bleached and deodorized soybean oil were 510, 120, 5, 1.4 and 1 ppm, respectively. The chloroform-methanol extracted crude soybean oil had 800 ppm phosphorus. The phospholipids found in crude oil were phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylserine and phosphatidic acid. Only phosphatidylchonine and phosphatidylethanolamine were detected in the deodorized soybean oil. The HPLC method described in this report can separate and detect individual phospholipids in soybean oil at 0.1 ppm level in 30 min.

Biodegradation of Crude oil by Marine Bacterium Pseudomonas sp. CHCS-2 and Composition of the Biosurfactant (해양세균 Pseudomonas sp. CHCS-2에 의한 원유분해 및 생물유화제의 성분 분석)

  • marine bacterium Pseudomonas sp. CHCS-2 produced the biosurfactant in the culture broth which contained 2%(w/v) arabian light crude oil and the productivity of biosurfactant was increased with the addition of glucose. The crude oil in the culture broth was degraded by this strain and carbon chain of $_nC_{12}~_nC_{22}$ was completely degradaded during the incubation for 196 h. The crude biosurfactant was purified by Amberlite XAD-7, Sepharose CL-4B and DEAE-Sepharose CL-6B column chromatography. Therefore, 0.21g/L of the purified biosurfactnat was obtained. The purified biosurfactant was a type of lipoprotein and the molecular weight was estimated as 67kDa by SDS-PAGE. The lipid composition was identified as octadecanoic acid by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. And then, the N-terminal amino acid sequence of the protein was determined as Ser-Val-lle-Asn-Thr-lle-X-Met-lle-Gly-Gln-Gln- and the sequence did not show homology to any other known lipoprotein. Therefore, the purified lopoprotein was predicted novel biosurfactant.

Physical Properties of Sulfur Concrete with Modified Sulfur Binder (유황개질 바인더를 사용한 유황 콘크리트의 물리적 특성)

  • Recently, a huge amount of sulfur has been produced as a byproduct of petroleum refining processes in Korea. Sulfur concrete is made of modified sulfur binder instead of cement paste, which has advantages of reducing $CO_2$ emission from cement industry as well as utilizing surplus sulfur. Also, sulfur concrete is a sustainable material that can be repetitively recycled. In this study, the physical properties of sulfur concrete are experimentally investigated. From the test results, sulfur concrete showed compressive strengths higher than at least 50MPa. Also, the unit weight, modulus of elasticity and splitting tensile strength of sulfur concrete was similar to that of Portland cement concrete (PCC). The coefficient of thermal expansion of sulfur concrete was a little larger than that of Portland cement concrete and sulfur concrete with mineral filler is helpful to lower the coefficient of thermal expansion. recycled aggregate sulfur concrete resulted in a slight reduction in the compressive strength, but sulfur concrete with recycled aggregate can achieve the high strength characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study is to observe purification and properties of osteopontin(OPN) from bovine milk. The purification of osteopontin from bovine milk was performed by using ion-exchange and hydrophobic chromatography. SDS-PAGE analysis revealed that the protein migrated at Mw. 60,000. NH2-terminal sequence analysis of the first seven amio acids revealed the protein to be identical to that previously reported for bovine OPN. 35-wk-old chickens, including 3 Single Comb White Leghorn (SCWL), were used to produce egg yolk antibody(IgY) against OPNas a antigen. However, the anti-OPN antibody activities determined by ELISA. Immunological assy of OPN in milk was performed using radial immunodiffusion test based on the standard curve of pure OPN. The radial precipitation lines of four different milk samples indicated that the concentrations of OPN in the milk samples were within the range of 31.7 to 39.7${\mu}g$/ml. On inhibition with OPN on precipitation of calcium phosphate, OPN was slightly higher than casein phosphopeptide(CPP) and poly-glutamic acid.

  • Oil shale is a sedimentary rock that contains organic compounds called kerogen that are released as petroleum-like liquids by retorting. In order to evalute oil shale as alternative oil resources, the physical properties of oil shale samples from US and Russia were investigated and Fischer assays were carried out. Thermogravimetric analysis shows that thermal degradation of oil shale consisted of two stage processes, with hydrocarbon release from kerogen followed by $CO_2$ release by carbonate decomposition. Organic compounds in oil shale have an high hydrogen/carbon ratio, and therefore liquid hydrocarbons could be obtained easily. Shale oil yields from Russian and US oil shales by Fischer assay were 12.7% and 18.5%, respectively. The density and boiling point of shale oils are higher than that of Middle East crude oil, indicating that further upgrading processes are necessary for refinery. On the other hands, sulfur contents are relatively low, and the amounts of Vanadium and Nickel are extremely small in shale oil. It was found that paraffins were rich in US shale oil while main components of Russian shale oil were oxygenated hydrocarbons.

  • Oil sands had not received enough attention due to high production cost. However, as oil price significantly increases, oil sands are receiving more and more interest as unconventional crude oil. The value and applicability of oil sands can be enhanced by upgrading oil sands bitumen to produce synthetic crude oil (SCO). This study analyzed 213 oil sands upgrading patents applied between 1969 and 2006 in US, Canada, Japan, Europe, and Korea. The upgrading technologies could be classified into 9 detailed technologies; hydrocracking, coking, thermal cracking, deasphalting, supercritical technology, bio-technology, hydrotreating, gasification, and others. The number of patents applied for oil sands upgrading increased after 1970, reached a maximum in the early 1980, and slowly increases again in recent years. Korea has a lack of technologies for oil sands. Therefore, the technologies for oil sands production and application, specially, upgrading technologies based on accumulated oil refinery technologies need to be developed to increase self-development ratio of energy resource.

An Analysis on Inter-Regional Price Linkage of Petroleum Products (석유제품 가격의 지역 간 연계성 분석)

  • This paper investigates the relationship between the oil price and the major petroleum products prices at the trading hubs such as Singapore, North West Europe and the US New York Harbor. We focus on the lead-lag relationship between the weekly petroleum prices from 2009 to 2016 based on the vector error correction model. We find that the oil price leads the prices of petroleum products in the long term, while there is bidirectional causality in the short term. On the other hand, prices of petroleum products in regions with high import dependency, such as Europe gas oil and jet fuel price, are exogenous in the long term. We also present evidence that prices of petroleum products in region with a large global-market share lead prices in other regions. However, if the region is in an over-production situation and low industry concentration, it may lose its price leadership due to intense competition. The result in this study can provide a useful information to petroleum refining companies in forecasting fluctuations of product price, and hence in planning their regional arbitrage trading activities.

석유비축의무자의 의무이행에 관한 기준

  • 정부는 지난 2월 22일 석유정제업자, 석유수입업자 등 석유비축의무자의 석유저장 및 비축의무이행에 관한 기준을 고시했다. 이 기준에 의해 유공 호남정유 경인에너지 쌍용정유 극동정유등 국내 5개 정유사는 정상적인 영업거래에 필요한 25일분의 운영재고량 외에 별도로 올해부터 오는 97년까지 매년 1일씩 모두 5일분의 민간비축량을 연차적으로 확보, 전체 비축량을 30일분으로 늘리도록 돼있다. 적용대상 비축물량은 원유 휘발유 등유 경유 중유 항공유 및 프로판 및 부탄가스등이다. 정유 5사의 석유비축량이 30일로 늘어나고 또 현재 거제와 여천등에 확장 또는 신설공사중인 정부비축량도 현행 25일분에서 60일분으로 증가하게 되면 오는 97년 국내 전체 석유비축량은 모두 국제 기준인 90일분으로 확대되게 된다.
