  • This study, which checked diagnostic agreement at the femoral region and lumbar region during diagnosis of osteoporosis and surveyed errors related with choosing measured parts, aimed at providing basic date for right diagnosis of osteoporosis. The study, using the first, second years of the fifth period from initial data from National Nutrition Survey, surveyed 1,637 men and 2,128 women at the age of 50 years or older. The study used kappa test to grasp the agreement between the occurrence of osteoporosis at the femoral region and lumbar region and whether or not received doctor's diagnosis. Women showed diagnostic agreement of osteoporosis at all of the femoral region and lumbar region, with diagnostic agreement of the lumbar region being higher than that of the femoral region. While, men showed diagnostic agreement of osteoporosis only at the lumbar region. Bone density changes with the age and varies depending on parts, and so, the study believes, measuring bone density should conduct all of the femoral region and lumbar region and diagnosis had better be made focused on the lumbar region.

  • Women are reported to have increased risk of metabolic syndrome after menopause. Nevertheless, there is a lack of study on the convergent association between breast-feeding, bone mineral density(BMD) and metabolic syndrome due to women's childbirth. In this study, the data of 939 elderly women using raw data from the fifth Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES V-1 and 2) in 2010 and 2011 were analyzed. The correlation between breast-feeding children, BMD and metabolic syndrome was analyzed by dividing them into three groups based on the number of breast-feeding children. As a result of the analysis, no specific association was found between risk factors of metabolic syndrome and BMD according to the increase in the number of breast-feeding children after adjustment for confounders. However, elderly women with a large number of breast-feeding children showed a significant association with more risk factors of metabolic syndrome. These findings can be used as a basic material for the prevention and diagnosis of metabolic syndrome and health care in elderly women.

  • This paper presents production data analysis for two production wells located in the shale gas field, Canada, with the proper analysis method according to each production performance characteristics. In the case A production well, the analysis was performed by applying both time and superposition time because the production history has high variation. Firstly, the flow regimes were classified with a log-log plot, and as a result, only the transient flow was appeared. Then the area of simulated reservoir volume (SRV) analyzed based on flowing material balance plot was calculated to 180 acres of time, and 240 acres of superposition time. And the original gas in place (OGIP) also was estimated to 15, 20 Bscf, respectively. However, as the area of SRV was not analyzed with the boundary dominated flow data, it was regarded as the minimum one. Therefore, the production forecasting was conducted according to variation of b exponent and the area of SRV. As a result, estimated ultimate recovery (EUR) increased 1.2 and 1.4 times respectively depending on b exponent, which was 0.5 and 1. In addition, as the area of SRV increased from 240 to 360 acres, EUR increased 1.3 times. In the case B production well, the formation compressibility and permeability depending on the overburden were applied to the analysis of the overpressured reservoir. In comparison of the case that applied geomechanical factors and the case that did not, the area of SRV was increased 1.4 times, OGIP was increased 1.5 times respectively. As a result of analysis, the prediction of future productivity including OGIP and EUR may be quite different depending on the analysis method. Thus, it was found that proper analysis methods, such as pseudo-time, superposition time, geomechanical factors, need to be applied depending on the production data to gain accurate results.

  • We present results of CO observations toward an infrared (IR) source, IRAS 07280-1829, and its possibly related molecular clouds. The physical parameters of this IR source such as its infrared slope (${\alpha}$=16) of the Spectral Energy Distribution and bolometric temperature (145 K) indicate that it is an embedded protostar. Its luminosity is ${\sim}2.9{\times}10^4L_{\odot}$, typical of a massive star. The CO profile toward IRAS 07280-1829 has broad wing components, implying a possible existence of CO outflow. The excitation temperature and mass of a molecular cloud (Cloud A) which is thought to harbor the IR source are estimated to be 9~22 K and ~180 $M_{\odot}$, respectively, indicating the Cloud A is a typical infrared-dark cloud. Its LTE mass is found to be much smaller than its virial mass by more than a factor of 10 which is inconsistent with the fact that a protostar recently formed exists in the Cloud A. This may suggest that the environment of the cloud where the IR source is forming is dominant of turbulence and/or magnetic filed, making its virial mass estimated unusually high.
