Speech Animation by Visualizing the Organs of Articulation (조음 기관의 시각화를 이용한 음성 동기화 애니메이션)

  • 본 논문에서는 음성에 따른 얼굴 애니메이션을 사실적으로 표현하기 위한 조음기관(혀, 성대 등)의 움직임을 시각화하는 방법을 제시한다. 이를 위해서, 음성에 따른 얼굴 애니메이션을 위한 말뭉치(Corpus)를 생성하고, 생성된 말뭉치에 대해서 음소 단위의 분석(Phoneme alignment) 처리를 한 후, 각 음소에 따른 조음기관의 움직임을 생성한다. 본 논문에서는 조음기관의 움직임 생성을 위해서 얼굴 애니메이션 처리에서 널리 사용되고 있는 기저 모델 기반 형태 혼합 보간 기법(Blend shape Interpolation)을 사용하였다. 그리고 이를 통하여 프레임/키프레임 기반 움직임 생성 사용자 인터페이스를 구축하였다. 구축된 인터페이스를 통해 언어치료사가 직접 각 음소 별 조음기관의 정확한 모션 데이터를 생성토록 한다. 획득된 모션 데이터를 기반으로 각 음소 별 조음기관의 3차원 기본 기저를 모델링하고, 새롭게 입력된 음소 시퀀스(phoneme sequence)에 대해서 동기화된 3차원 조음기관의 움직임을 생성한다. 이를 통해 자연스러운 3차원 얼굴 애니메이션에 적용하여 얼굴과 동기화된 조음 기관의 움직임을 만들어 낼 수 있다.

A Study on Motion Estimator Design Using DCT DC Value (DCT 직류 값을 이용한 움직임 추정기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • The compression method is necessarily used to send the high quality moving picture that contains a number of data in image processing. In the field of moving picture compression method, the motion estimation algorithm is used to reduce the temporal redundancy. Block matching algorithm to be usually used is distinguished partial search algorithm with full search algorithm. Full search algorithm be used in this paper is the method to compare the reference block with entire block in the search window. It is very efficient and has simple data flow and control circuit. But the bigger the search window, the larger hardware size, because large computational operation is needed. In this paper, we design the full search block matching motion estimator. Using the DCT DC values, we decide luminance. And we apply 3 bit compare-selector using bit plane to I(Intra coded) picture, not using 8 bit luminance signals. Also it is suggested that use the same selective bit for the P(Predicted coded) and B(Bidirectional coded) picture. We compare based full search method with PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) for C language modeling. Its condition is the reference block 8$\times$8, the search window 24$\times$24 and 352$\times$288 gray scale standard video images. The result has small difference that we cannot see. And we design the suggested motion estimator that hardware size is proved to reduce 38.3% for structure I and 30.7% for structure II. The memory is proved to reduce 31.3% for structure I and II.

  • Among the compression methods of moving picture information, a motion estimation method is used to remove time-repeating. The Block Matching Algorithm in motion estimation methods is the commonest one. In recent days, it is required the more advanced high quality in many image processing fields, for example HDTV, etc. Therefore, we have to accomplish not by means of Partial Search Algorithm, but by means of Full Search Algorithm in Block Matching Algorithm. In this paper, it is suggested a structure that reduce total calculation quantity and size, because the structure using Bit Plane select and use only 3bit of 8bit luminance signal.

  • 본 논문은 원자력 발전소내의 기기들 중 원자로 내부 기기의 초음파 비파괴 검사를 위한 로봇의 위치 제어를 위한 방법을 설명하였다. 기존에는 레일과 같은 보조 시설물을 설치하여 검사를 하는 것이 일반적이었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 보조 시설물 없이 카메라 영상에 의한 위치제어에 관하여 기술하였다. 여러 가지 방법 중에 정합 필터를 이용하여 로봇의 현재위치를 추정하는 방법을 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법을 실험한 결과 로롯의 제어를 위한 샘플링 타임은 100msec 정도로 일반석인 로봇의 제어 주기로 사용하기에는 다소 길었다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 정합필터를 병렬 계산을 이용하여 계산하도록 하고 이를 병렬언어로 널리 사용되고 있는 MPI(Message Passing Interface) 언어로 구현하였다. 다수의 컴퓨터와 이더넷을 이용할 수 있으며 최근 일반화되고 있는 멀티코어 CPU도 응용이 가능하였다.

성대 결절 환자의 발성 패턴에 따른 음성 치료 접근의 효과

  • 성대 결절 환자들은 잘못된 발성 패턴으로 인한 음성의 오용과 남용이 질환의 원인인 경우가 대부분이다. 관찰할 수 있는 발성 패턴은 성대 내근과 외후두근의 사용, 인두, 혀, 턱의 움직임, 호흡 방법, 억양의 변화 등 다양하다. 이러한 발성 패턴이 하나 혹은 그 이상 잘못 되어 있을 경우에는 후두에 좋지 않은 영향을 미쳐 기능성 후두 질환, 성대 결절, 성대 폴립 등의 기질적 질환과 연계될 수 있다. 성대 결절에서 일반적으로 관찰되는 발성 패턴으로는 성대 전체를 강하게 접촉하여 발성하는 경우와 반대로 성대 수직면 위쪽 즉 상순쪽만 가볍게 부딪혀서 발성하는 경우로 나타난다. 두 경우 모두에서 성대 결절이 발생하며 그 기와 위치가 조금씩 달라지게 된다. 이렇게 성대 결절이 발생했을 경우 널리 제시되고 있는 치료 방법으로 환자의 잘못된 발성 습관에 대한 상담과 함께 하품-한숨 접근법이나 노래 조로 말하기, 저작하기와 같은 성대 접촉을 줄일 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 그러나 성대 접촉이 되지 않아 발생된 성대 결절 환자의 경우는 일시적으로 결절의 크기는 줄일 수 있을 것이나 치료 결과가 유지되는 측면의 고려가 부족한 것이 사실이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 성대 결절 환자들의 발성 패턴을 관찰하고 그 상태에 따라 음성 치료를 접근하여 치료 결과 및 유지 효과를 확인하고자 한다. A Study on the Robust Bimodal Speech-recognition System in Noisy Environments (잡음 환경에 강인한 이중모드 음성인식 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • Recent researches have been focusing on jointly using lip motions (i.e. visual speech) and speech for reliable speech recognitions in noisy environments. This paper also deals with the method of combining the result of the visual speech recognizer and that of the conventional speech recognizer through putting weights on each result: the paper proposes the method of determining proper weights for each result and, in particular, the weights are autonomously determined, depending on the amounts of noise in the speech and the image quality. Simulation results show that combining the audio and visual recognition by the proposed method provides the recognition performance of 84% even in severely noisy environments. It is also shown that in the presence of blur in images, the newly proposed weighting method, which takes the blur into account as well, yields better performance than the other methods.

  • Without the involvement of time in animation, it cannot be possible to create movement. Therefore, tine is the important element to create animation. In animation, the expression of the emotion of character is more complicate than the appearance. Time is one of element to use for express of the emotion. It can be divided two types of time as the real time and the animation time broadly. The real time has linear, irreversible and analogue form which is in our daily life. And the animation time has multi-direction, reversible, and digital form which can be detected in the movie. For the animation time, there are many types of time that are the running time, the production time, the subjective time, the objective time, the ambiguous time and the universal time etc. This study is to extend and enrich the express as film language through various types of times in animation. Time is one of important element that can be useful method for expressing many unique scenes in film art as film language.

Camera Acting Method (카메라 연기 훈련 방법 연구)

  • The film language is distinguished roughly according to shot angles and size and camera movement. The film language is what the performer should be well-acquainted with in camera acting. Since the most important characteristics of acting in front of the camera lies in being with the camera, the relationship between the camera and the performers is basically mutual communication and is the inseparable relationship in which they should be well acquainted with each other. Understanding of diverse film languages for acting in front of the camera enables the performer to adapt to the media quickly and to concentrate on acting. Performance changes according to the media or environment in which acting is performed. For a good performance, the performers should be able to appropriately express their own acting according to the characteristics of the space or the media in which they do performance. Acting in front of the camera is clearly distinguished from acting on the stage in the aspects of either media characteristics or acting. With the manifestation of extemporaneousness and the discovery of the performers' personality to the extent possible, performers themselves proceed with creative works in collaboration with the director in acting in front of the camera and can attain the development of acting in front of the camera.

  • The vocal language which is a symbolic vocal language described external sounds or expressed shape of things in nature, phenomenon, movement, shape of state provided images which can be envisioned in minds and created the mood for the whole writings. As the instructive ways of symbolic vocal language, the activities which refrain one-way translation for lexicon definition and stimulate the thoughts of students and interesting activities such as songs and comic books which students can understand by themselves are needed. Therefore, in this study, these symbolic vocal language is to be developed as the contents of robot for Symbolic Vocal language learning activities and after study activities, the possibility of using robot for education is to be reviewed, comparing changes in definitive areas and achievement after study activities. After the Symbolic Vocal language learning activities using robot and computer, as results of testing three achievement types of words simulated sound, shape, and movement, in study on words simulating sound and shape there was no significant difference. But The study activities simulating words used robot showed significant difference in terms of interest, confidence, and understanding.

Subjective Indicators of Deception Detection in High/Low Stake Situations: Comparison among University Students and Prison Officers and Prisoners (이해득실 상황에 따른 거짓말 탐지에 대한 주관적 지표 - 대학생, 교도관, 재소자들을 대상으로 -)

  • Purposes of this study was as following; What differences do subjective indicators of deception detection according to high and low stake situations? Does groups difference appear in beliefs about deception cues? Is what differences between objective indicators and subjective indicators of deceptions? Participants of this study were consisted of university students, prison officers, prisoners. They completed a questionnaire concerning beliefs about 21 verbal and nonverbal behaviours in high/low-stake situations. For each behaviour, they were asked to rate on a seven-point scale how are these behaviours changed comparing to normal times. The results were that subjective indicators of deception were no differences between high-stake and low-stake situations, and no differences among groups. Also, it appeared that the subjective indicators of deception were substantly different from the objective indicators of deception.
