A Study on the Improvement of Railway Construction Schedule Using KTX Construction Case (경부고속철도 사례분석을 통한 철도건설공기 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In 2004, KTX operated in Korea on the 5th in the world. But there are various factor on planed schedule delay of Big National Construction Project like Seoul-Busan High Speed Rail Project(Seoul-Busan HSR). For example, Often change of government policy, project management control problem of design and construction, conflict of interested party like environmental organization/resident are the main delay factors. The suggestions for improvement of the construction schedule through the Seoul-Busan HSR will help to make a new leap forward in rail construction.

Analysis of Train Operation Obstacle Using Number of Failures and Delay Time of Electric Door System (전기식 도어시스템의 고장건수 및 지연시간을 활용한 열차운행장애 분석)

  • This paper analyzes functions of component parts of D-Urban Railway's door system along with operation obstacle risks on frequency(the number of occurrences/year) and severity(delay time/the number of occurrences). Based on this, the paper presents improvements and current system's problems after obstacle risks of EMU and door system are appled. The obstacle of door system causes corrosion of main parts such as DCU due to heat problem of operation environment, problems of maintenance methods and deterioration. DCUs on PCBs with more than 50% pattern corrosion cause problems. Even though the number of door system's obstacle occurrences for the last 5 years is 42, along with 104 minutes of operation obstacle, EMU operation obstacle risk is low(Level 1), which indicates there is limit in matrix of railway risks presented by the standard of railway safety management system. Therefore, it is necessary to have railway risk matrix suitable for the field. Finally, the paper deducts the obstacle risks through frequency and severity. Since 2017 when the risks of EMU and door system's obstacle, that of EMU has been 24(47% reduced) and that of door system has been average 9.5 per year(23% reduced).

Transmission Performance of Application Traffics on High Speed Railway Communications (고속철도통신에서 응용 트래픽의 전송성능)

  • LTE-R mobile communication technology based on LTE is used to supply various signal and exchange information required for safety operation of train on high speed railway communication system. In this paper, transmission performance of application traffic which is transferred on high speed communication based on LTE-R is analyzed. And some suggestions for application traffic transmission of high speed railway communication will be considered. Computer simulation is used to analyze performance of CBR, VBR as application traffic. Throughput, delay and packet loss rate is used as performance measurement and analysis parameters.

  • 물리적, 논리적 공간에서 다양한 오브젝트들이 상호작용할 수 있게 되고, 오브젝트에 탑재되는 소프트웨어가 고도화 됨에 따라 엔지니어가 관리 가능한 수준의 시스템 제어가 힘들어지고 있다. 이런 복잡한 시스템의 자율적인 관리를 위해 다양한 상황에 대응 가능한 자가적응성이 요구된다. 자가적응형 소프트웨어는 대상 시스템의 목표나 QoS를 만족할 수 있도록 런타임에 스스로를 변화 시킬 수 있는 능력을 가진 소프트웨어이다. 이러한 소프트웨어는 고도화된 시스템의 관리에 있어서 엔지니어의 부담을 경감시킬수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 선행적 자가적응형 시스템은 도로망과 같은 주기적 특성을 가진 시스템에서 시스템이 직면하는 상황을 사전에 예측하여 미리 대응할 수 있는 시스템이다. 이는 기존에 반응적으로 대응했던 시스템들이 적용한 정책의 효과를 보기까지 낭비되는 시간을 고려하여 해당 지연시간동안에 시스템의 목표나 QoS가 하락하는 상황을 미연에 방지할 수 있다. 본 시스템의 적용분야로 지능형교통체계를 사용하였으며, 도로망 전체에서 정체 발생빈도와 평균 이동속도 그리고 단위길이당 운행시간을 평가항목으로 사용하고, 대상 도로망 전체적인 최적화를 목표로 한다.

  • The WiBro to start June 2006 is mobile internet service with 60km/h, 3Mbps. And current WiBro service is used in Seoul, the metropolitan area and the local major cities. This study suggests WiBro technology and analyzes wireless communication technology to vehicle-to-infrastructure communications for the unmanned vehicle control. We were driving vehicle with two laptop computer's WiBro unit for V2I communication environment. So each RAS(Radio Access Station) on center is tested coverage area, transmission rate, latency rate, lost rate and transmission rate to parking area environment.

  • Ahead of the commercialization of autonomous vehicles, it's application should be considered into the current transportation infrastructure. Under limited traffic circumstances, effective set of lane change rules alone could bring benefits to the autonomous driving system. In this study, a cooperative movement (local platooning) plan with limited vehicles associated as pocket driving, aiming at effective movement between vehicles in urban environment was proposed. Under congested roadway condition, the gaussian gap between vehicles was introduced to secure gap acceptance for safe lane change maneuver. Proposed lane change method showed 86.6% delay reduction along with traffic volume improvement. This result could be considered as a crucial factor in designing a next-generation roadway infrastructure with autonomous driving.

  • This paper presents implementation details of car communications system based on V2I2V model over broadband wireless networks including WCDMA, HSDPA and WiBro. Also, we measures the major performance metrics such as Round Trip Time, end-to-end latency and others between in-vehicle client and location management system by driving across urban areas in Daegu city. Analysis of experimental results would be helpful to consider the applicability of traffic safety services using V2I2V-based car communications over various broadband wireless networks.

  • Due to high imperviousness rates of the roads, various pollutants originated from vehicle activities and air depositions are accumulated on the road surfaces. The washed-off pollutants can deteriorate the water quality and destroy the aqua-ecosystems with their toxicity. Usually the roads are paved with asphalt and concrete, which can affect on the pollutant concentrations with different frictional forces. Therefore, this research is performed to evaluate the influences of different pavement type on discharged concentrations of pollutant. The results shows the first flush phenomenon was occurred on both pavement types. However, peak concentrations are higher in concrete pavement areas than asphalt pavement because concrete pavement has high contact area with vehicles. The EMCs(Event Mean Concentration) also shows high values in concrete paved roads. As a result of this research, it can be concluded the pavement type is also one of the important affecting factors on pollutant emissions from the roads.

Study on a New Method for Precise Stop Control of Metro Trains: In Case of Large Speed Error (도시철도 열차 정위치 정차제어의 새로운 방안에 대한 연구: 속도 오차가 큰 경우)

  • One of the requirements of metro trains is to stop with precision to ensure that the train can stop precisely at the designated location on the platform. If this is not satisfied, interference with the screen door occurs, causing inconvenience to passengers and delays in operation. In the case of an automatic operated train, the current position is determined by the current speed information of the train, and control is performed by issuing an acceleration/deceleration command. Therefore, accurate control becomes impossible if the error of the speed information is large. In metro railroads, a Precision Stop Marker (PSM) is used to correct the position error, so that the error of stop control can be reduced by correcting the position error at a specific point. On the other hand, because the PSM itself has only position information, it does not compensate for the speed error. This paper proposes a method for performing in-place stop control by estimating the speed with the PSM progress information. The speed can be estimated when the train is operated at a constant deceleration speed, and the target deceleration can be obtained to perform stop control. The feasibility and excellence of the proposed method are shown through a numerical simulation.

Design of path-finding algorithm using dynamic turn heuristic (가변적인 턴 휴리스틱을 이용한 경로탐색 알고리즘의 설계)

  • It needs to consider of turns during a path-finding on real road network. Because a car is delayed by waiting a traffic signal and decreasing speed when drived in a turn road such as cross road and slip road. If a straightness of a path is increased, a real cost of traveling should be able to decrease. An older method, the algorithm with Turn Heuristic, considered of this case. The algorithm, that differently gave weights to left, right and U-turns, improved a straightness of a path, but increased a cost of exploring. In this paper, we propose a improved Turn Heuristic Algorithm. Proposed algorithm uses Dynamic Turn Heuristic. It is able to more decrease a cost of exploring than older method by using the Turn Heuristic in a part of path-finding.
