  • 본 논문에서는 PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) 시스템의 성능과 시스템의 안전에 영향을 미치는 PRT 시스템의 운전시격(Headway)에 대해서 다룬다. 어떤 차량과 다음 차량과의 운전 간격을 나타내는 운전시격은 대중교통수단에서 교통 혼잡의 문제를 풀 수 있는 중요한 단서가 되는 성로용량을 평가하는 중요한 인자들 중의 하나이다. 운전시격을 결정하기 위한 중요한 인자들에는 고장 차량의 감속비, 고장차량의 후미에 있는 차량의 비상 제동 감속비, 차량의 선로속도, 차량의 제동을 위한 지연시간 등이 있다. 이들 인자들을 이용한 간단한 해석적 방정식은 차량의 선속도, 감속도와 운전시격에 대한 상관관계를 예측할 수 있도록 해준다. 본 논문에서는 간단한 해석 방정식을 이용한 수치 해석적 방법을 통해서 최소 운전시격에 대한 평가를 예를 간단한 모의시험을 통해서 보인다.

Headway Calculation and Train Control Algorithm for Performance Improvement in Radio based Train Control System (무선통신기반 열차제어시스템에서의 운전시격 계산과 간격제어 성능개선을 위한 열차간격제어 알고리즘)

  • Radio based train control system performs train safe interval control by receiving in realtime the position information of trains driving in the control area of the wayside system and providing onboard system in each train with updated movement authority. The performance of the train control system is evaluated to calculate the minimum operation headway, which reflects the operation characteristics and the characteristics of the train as well as the interval control performance of the train control system. In this paper, we propose the operation headway calculation for radio based train control system and a new train interval control algorithm to improve the operation headway. The proposed headway calculation defines line headway and station headway by the estimation the safety margin distance reflecting the performance of the train control system. Furthermore the proposed Enhanced Train Interval Control(ETIC) algorithm defines a new movement authority including both distance and speed, and improves the train operation headway by using braking distance occurring inevitably in the preceding train. The proposed operation headway calculation is simulated with Korean Radio-based Train Control System(KRTCS) and the simulated result is compared to improved train interval control algorithm. According to the simulated results, the proposed operation headway calculation can be used as performance indicator for radio based train control system, and the improved train control algorithm can improve the line and station headway of the conventional radio based train control system.

  • 운전 시격의 결정에 미치는 요소인 신호방식, 노선 선형, 차량 성능 둥에 대한 검토를 통해 수송수요를 만족할 수 있는 최적의 안을 도출하고자 하였다. 기존의 신호방식인 고정폐색방식 및 이동폐색방식을 적용할 때의 시격을 최소 운전시격관점에서 본선, 역, 기지 등의 최소운전의 수식적 검토와 차량 성능해석을 통해 목표시격에 대한 만족여부를 보았으며 이동폐색을 목표 노선에 적용시 최소 운전시 격의 타당성을 입증하여 본 시험선의 시격 결정의 참고자료 및 각 하부시스템 설계에 활용하고자 한다.

  • 여기서는 주로 신호제어의 면에서 본 열차제어시스템의 기술적 요건과 과제를 개관하고, 구체적인 사례로서 고속열차의 운전제어, 수송력 증강을 위한 운전시격 단축, 무인운전 등 주로 열차속도 제어와 관련한 시스템에 촛점을 맞추어 최근 동향을 소개한다. 특히 경부고속철도에 적용될 프랑스의 TGV의 열차 제어시스템에 관하여 소개하고, 첨단의 컴퓨터 및 통신기술을 도입하여 열차제어 및 운영의 효율화, 다양화를 추구하고 있는 최신 열차제어시스템의 발전 방향을 알아보기로 한다.

  • In order to scheme the optimal assumption that satisfies the travel demand, it should be review the elements that affect on determining the headway, which are signal systems, line shape, vehicle(Light Rail Transit) performance, and so on. When applying the conventional signal systems, including Fixed Block System and Moving Block System, It was confirmed whether or not satisfy the requirements of target line with the way of a numerical formula reviewing and Train performance Simulation on the main line, station, depot, and so forth. Therefore, it should be used as references that decide target line and each sub-system after identifying the compliances for Minimum Headway to Moving Block System.

  • The headway in Korean national railway normally runs from 6 to 10 minutes. It turns out that the current signal system can not decrease the running headway of the High Speed trains, which are scheduled to set out in April, 2004, between Seoul and Daejeon, since both the existing classical trains and the High Speed ones run on the section. Thus, a new signal system is to be introduced to secure safe and reduced headway. The present paper attempts to analyze the headway between this particular section Seoul-Daejeon of the classical line, where we expect the most severe bottleneck situation to occur. We employed two modes in our analysis : the Ground Signal mode and the On-board Signal mode. which are to be adopted starting from 2006.

  • Recently, The flexible moving block system in train operation has been introduced to the worldwide rail transportation markets. This paper is a comparative study of the conventional fixed block systems effects and the flexible moving block system on train operating time saving. Based on the literature review, the new algorithm is developed. It is to calculate the optimum headway time of the train. The proposed algorithm can overcome some of the existing algorithm problems, such as the limits of the data and unaware of the rail characteristic. The total travel time saving effect has been analyzed by applying the skip stop scheduling system to the each block system. The results of this study indicated that the total travel time is approximately 40% decreased and the schedule velocity is approximately 24% improved when the moving block system is applied. The results of this study could be used as a theoretical basis for the selection of rail signal system in Seoul's subway number 2 line.

  • This paper proposes a simulation method of train control system to increase railroad transportation capacity in the Seoul Subway. Comparing with the conventional fixed block system, a new train operation method of "moving block system" shows a more capability of same railroad. A graphic simulation program is developed for application of moving block system to Seoul subway train control system. The result of the simulation program shows a shorten headway i.e. a more dense operation of trains and a higher efficiency of railroad with the suggested moving block system.

A accurate headway calculation can be needed to headway reducing being achieved line capacity increasing by regulating signals spacing without any line construction. This paper introduced the theories and algorithms of calculating headways on wayside, multi step, one step braking and moving block signalling systems and showed some results of headways.

  • In a signal control of the railway system, the first objective is to guarantee a safety of the train operation, and the second is to increase a frequency(a capability of the transportation) of the train operation. In order to express the capability of the transportation a terminology what is called a railroad line capacity is employed. The railroad line capacity means a maximum frequency of the train operation in a possible schedule of the one way operation for one day. During the last several years an improvement in the facilities of the train operation (railroad line extension, improvement in the stations, improvement in the signal facilities) has been achieved to increase the railroad line capacity. In this paper the authors deal with the case analysis which try to shorten headway and which has an impartible relation with increasing of the railroad capacity
