The Design and Implementation of the Explorer Robot Adaptive Pipe Magnitude Width and Curve (파이프 크기와 굴곡에 적응하는 탐사로봇 설계 및 구현)

  • Most of explorer robot in past has the fixed magnitude and communicate with wire communication method. In case of various range of pipe's width and various angle in pipe inter structure, the exploring work is very difficult. Thus, in this paper, we design as dealing with spring tension with pushing out pipe exterior, and applied RF communication. We can accept good performance both structure change and improvement of ability, monitor and collect the defaults data in pipe inter structure. Newly designed and developed pipe explorer robot is very advantageous to carrying and driving as being small and law weight.

  • 하상 변화는 유량이나 유사의 흐름에 따라 침식, 운반, 퇴적되어 변화하며, 하상변동에 의한 결과는 하천의 형태 (직렬,복렬, 곡렬 등)나 서식처의 구조 (여울과 소, 웅덩이, 습지 등) 형성 로 나타난다. 하천이 공간적 시간적 규모가 연계되어 있음에도, 국내에서의 하천 복원 사업은 서식처의 구조나 형태에 중점을 둔 서식처 조성 사업이 주를 이룬다. 하지만 궁극적인 생태하천 복원 및 관리를 위해서는 생태적인 서식처의 구조가 제대로 발현되는 유량이나 유사량과 연계하여, 통합 유역관리가 가능하도록 진행하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 수리 (유량이나 유사량)-지형(서식처 구조)-생태 (생물다양성)을 연계하여 하천의 환경유량을 산정하는 방안을 제안하고자 한다. Nays2D 수리모델링을 활용하여 하상변화를 살펴보고, 수리모델링 결과를 서식처 구조 분포로 해석하여, 서식처가 다양한 유량을 산정하고 제안한다. 수리모델링 이전에 하천건강성 평가에 활용된 하천 생물종 모니터링 결과와 서식처 다양성과의 관계를 우선 분석하고 수리모델링을 진행한다. 본 연구의 대상 하천은 금강 지류인 갑천 약 5 km를 대상으로 2010년대 생물상, 항공사진, 지형데이타 (DEM and 단면도)를 활용한다.

  • 정부의 4대강 물 관리 종합대책에 따르면, 수계 전체 오염원중 비점오염원이 차지하는 오염부하가 22~37%에 달하는 것으로 추정되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 중요성에도 불구하고 농업지역 비점오염물질 저감을 위한 대책은 논과 밭과 같이 농경지에 관한 것이 대부분이었으며, 축산은 관리 기준의 가장 기초라고 할 수 있는 지목분류기준에 조차 별도의 기준이 없는 실정이다. 가축분뇨공공처리시설과 가축분뇨자원화시설은 가축분뇨를 처리하여야 하는 점오염원이지만, 차량 운반시 발생되는 일부 분뇨와 처리장 세척 시 발생되는 일부 오염물질들이 비점오염원으로 작용하고 있으며 이에 대한 관리가 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가축분뇨공공처리시설과 가축분뇨자원화시설에서 강우시 발생되는 유출특성을 분석하였으며, 이를 통해 가축분뇨처리시설의 비점오염 관리 처리시설 설치 시에 중요한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 경상북도 영천시, 경기도 용인시, 전라북도 정읍시, 강원도 횡성군 등 축산밀집 지역을 대상으로 연 5회 강우시 모니터링을 실시하였으며, 모니터링자료를 바탕으로 유량가중평균농도(Event Mean Concentration, EMC)를 산정하였다. 영천시 가축분뇨자원화시설의EMC 산정결과 평균 BOD 5.1 mg/L, TN 6.90 mg/L, TP 0.91 mg/L로 산정되었으며, 용인시 개별처리농가의 경우 BOD 6.8 mg/L, TN 3.74 mg/L, TP 1.04 mg/L로, 횡성군 가축분뇨공공처리장의 경우 BOD 4.5 mg/L, TN 3.56 mg/L, TP 1.60 mg/L로, 정읍시 가축분뇨공공자원화시설의 경우 BOD 4.3 mg/L, TN 6.82 mg/L, TP 0.48 mg/L로 산정되었다. BOD, TN은 영천시 가축분뇨자원화시설에서 가장 높게 나타났고, TP의 경우 횡성군 축산폐수공공처리장의 경우 높게 나타났다. 유출특성을 분석한 결과 가축분뇨자원화시설의 경우 대부분 콘크리트 기반으로 조성된 토지위에 조성되어 강우시 유량은 급격하게 상승하며, 강우가 종료되면 바로 감소하는 불투수층 지역의 특성을 나타났다. 본 연구에서 분석된 유츨특성과 EMC는 비점오염 처리시설이나 가축분뇨공공처리시설 설치시 기초데이터로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단되며, 향후 가축분뇨처리시설의 지속적인 모니터링과 모니터링지점 확대로 자원화시설 강우유출수의 DataBase화를 통한 지속적인 연구 및 관리가 되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Hazard Area of Bunkering for Ammonia Fueled Vessel (암모니아 연료추진 선박의 벙커링 누출 영향에 관한 연구)

  • As part of the International Maritime Organization ef orts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the maritime industry is exploring low-carbon fuels such as liquefied natural gas and methanol, as well as zero-carbon fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia, evaluating them as environmentally friendly alternatives. Particularly, ammonia has substantial operational experience as cargo on transport ships, and ammonia ship engines are expected to be available in the second half of 2024, making it relatively accessible for commercial use. However, overcoming the toxicity challenges associated with using ammonia as a fuel is imperative. Detection is possible at levels as low as 5 ppm through olfactory senses, and exposure to concentrations exceeding 300 ppm for more than 30 min can result in irreparable harm. Using the KORA program provided by the Chemical Safety Agency, an assessment of the potential risks arising from leaks during ammonia bunkering was conducted. A 1-min leak could lead to a 5 ppm impact within a radius of approximately 7.5 km, affecting key areas in Busan, a major city. Furthermore, the potentially lethal concentration of 300 ppm could have severe consequences in densely populated areas and schools near the bunkering site. Therefore, given the absence of regulations related to ammonia bunkering, the potential for widespread toxicity from even minor leaks highlights the requirement for the development of legislation. Establishing an integrated system involving local governments, fire departments, and environmental agencies is crucial for addressing the potential impacts and ensuring the safety of ammonia bunkering operations.

Field Study on Wireless Remote Sensing for Stability Monitoring of Large Circular Steel Pipe for Marine Bridge Foundation (해상 교량기초용 대형 원형강관 가설공법의 무선 원격 안정성 모니터링을 위한 현장실험)

  • The large circular steel pipe for a marine bridge foundation has been developed as a construction method capable of performing the role of the working platform and cofferdam. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the wireless remote sensing system for monitoring the stability of the large circular steel pipe during construction and operation through field tests. The artificial seabed ground with an water level of 4 m is constructed for field tests. The large circular steel pipe with a diameter of 5 m and height of 9.5 m is installed into the ground by suction, and the embedded depth is 5 m. The inclinometer and strain gauges are installed on different surfaces of the upper module, and the tilt angle and stress are monitored throughout the entire construction process. As results, tilt angles are measured to be constant during the suction penetration. However, the tilt angle is larger in the x-axis direction. In addition, even when installed on different surfaces, the tilt angle in the same axial direction is measured to be almost the same. The stresses measured by strain gauges increase during suction penetration and decrease during pull-out. Based on measured stresses, it is found that the eccentricity is acting on the large circular steel pipe. This study shows that a wireless remote sensing system built with an inclinometer and strain gauge can be a useful tool for the stability monitoring of the large circular steel pipe.

Development of Multi-functional Tele-operative Modular Robotic System For Watermelon Cultivation in Greenhouse

  • There have been worldwide research and development efforts to automate various processes of bio-production and those efforts will be expanded with priority given to tasks which require high intensive labor or produce high value-added product and tasks under hostile environment. In the field of bio-production capabilities of the versatility and robustness of automated system have been major bottlenecks along with economical efficiency. This paper introduces a new concept of automation based on tole-operation, which can provide solutions to overcome inherent difficulties in automating bio-production processes. Operator(farmer), computer, and automatic machinery share their roles utilizing their maximum merits to accomplish given tasks successfully. Among processes of greenhouse watermelon cultivation tasks such as pruning, watering, pesticide application, and harvest with loading were chosen based on the required labor intensiveness and functional similarities to realize the proposed concept. The developed system was composed of 5 major hardware modules such as wireless remote monitoring and task control module, wireless remote image acquisition and data transmission module, gantry system equipped with 4 d.o.f. Cartesian type robotic manipulator, exchangeable modular type end-effectors, and guided watermelon loading and storage module. The system was operated through the graphic user interface using touch screen monitor and wireless data communication among operator, computer, and machine. The proposed system showed practical and feasible way of automation in the field of volatile bio-production process.

A Discrete Model of Conveyor Systems for FMS (FMS를 위한 Conveyor System의 이산구조 모델링)

  • In this paper, we propose a discrete model of conveyor systems, which is frequently used in flexible manufacturing systems to transfer work-in-process( WIP) between manipulators. In the case where the time required for transferring WIP's between manipulators are greater than that of manufacturing itself, as in many flexible assembly lines, the quantitative model of the transfer systems is needed to analyze the behavior and productivity of the whole manufacturing system. The proposed model is based upon the assumptions that the length of any unit conveyor component is integer multiple of the length of a pallet and hat the transferring speed of the conveyor is constant. Under these assumptions, the observation moments and the length of the conveyor can be quantized. Hence, the state of a conveyor can be represented by two kinds of Boolean variables: one representing the presence of a pallet on each quantize conveyor length and the other representing the mobility of this pallet. The whole conveyor system can be modeling as a network composed of branches and knots based on these two Boolean variables. The proposed modelling method was tested with various conveyor system configurations and showed that the model can be adopted successfully for the simulation of transfer systems and of the piloting of manufacturing processes.

The Application of Octa-Substituted Metallophthalocyanine Langmuir-Blodgett films for $NO_2$ Measurement (수정진동자를 이용한 프탈로시아닌 LB박막의 $NO_2$ 감지 특성)

  • Multilayer Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films coated on quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) of octa-substituted metallophhtalocyanines ($MPc(OEH)_8$, M = Cu, Co, and Sn) and dihydrogen phthalocyanines ($H_2Pc(OEH)_8$) were used to quantify $NO_2$ concentrations. They were exposed to various concentrations of $NO_2$ in dry $N_2$. Among the four phthalocyanines we tested, the metal-free $H_2Pc(OEH)_8$ was observed to be most sensitive to $NO_2$. However, its LB film showed a partially irreversible behavior, that is part of the frequency change due to $NO_2$ adsorption could not be recovered even after purging with pure $N_2$ gas for an extended period. Examining the spectra of NMR and FTIR revealed fact that the irreversible portion of frequency change was due to ether groups in the linkage between side chains and the Pc unit. In order to remove the effect of such initial deactivation, on $NO_2$ quantification experiment, a freshly fabricated LB film was treated at a high concentration of $NO_2$ so that the ether sites were saturated. A pretreated LB film showed a reproducible performance for repeated uses. The $CuPc(OEH)_8$ LB film showed a satisfactory sensing performance down to as low as 4 ppm. For the $H_2Pc(OEH)_8$ LB film, the lower detection limit was found to be 35ppb of $NO_2$. In order to make the experimental condition more realistic, the carrier gas, dry nitrogen, was replaced by air. It was observed that the presence of oxygen, a weak electron acceptor, reduced the sensitivity and thus increased the sensing limit to hundreds of ppb. Results of experiments with moisture added showed that the interference of moisture was quite severe.

  • TBM tunnel is simple with the iterative process of excavating the ground, building a segment ring-build, and backfilling. Drill & Blast, a conventional tunnel construction method, is more complicated than the TBM tunnel and has some restrictions because it repeats the inspection, drilling, charging, blasting, ventilation, muck treatment, and installation of support materials. However, the preparation work for excavation requires time and cost based on a very detailed plan compared to Drill & Blasting, which reinforces the ground and forms a tunnel after the formation of tunnel portal. This is because the TBM equipment for excavating the target ground determines the success or failure of the construction. If the TBM, an expensive order-made equipment, is incorrectly configured at the assembly stage, it becomes difficult to excavate from the initial stage as well as the main excavation stage. When the assembled shield TBM equipment is dismantled again, and a situation of re-assembly occurs, it is difficult throughout the construction period due to economic loss as well as time. Therefore, in this study, the layout and plan of the site and the assembly process for each major part of the TBM equipment were reviewed for the assembly of slurry shield TBM to construct the largest diameter road tunnel in domestic passing through the Han River and minimized interference with other processes and the efficiency of cutter head assembly and transport were analyzed and improved to suit the site conditions.

Development of Digital Twin System for Smart Factory Education (스마트 공장 교육을 위한 디지털 트윈 시스템 개발)

  • In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, manufacturing is the implementation of smart factories through digital transformation, and refers to consumer-centered intelligent factories that combine next-generation digital new technologies and manufacturing technologies beyond the existing factory automation level. In order to successfully settle such a smart factory, it is necessary to train professionals. However, education for smart factories is difficult to have actual field mechanical facilities or overall production processes. Therefore, there is a need for a system that can visualize and control the flow and process of logistics at the actual production site. In this paper, the logistics flow of the actual site was implemented as a small FMS, a physical system, and the production process was implemented as a digital system. In real-time synchronization of the physical system and the digital system, the location of AGV and materials, and the process state can be monitored to see the flow of logistics and process processes at the actual manufacturing site. The developed digital twin system can be used as an effective educational system for training manpower in smart factories.
