  • The purpose of this paper was to investigate various factors influencing the intentions of drink-driving from multiple perspectives, in order to uncover ways to reduce the number of motor accidents caused by drink-driving. We examined sociopsychological aspects as well as driver's life styles such as smoking habit and exercise habit. Perception of behaviour controls among drink-driver' sociopsychological characteristics had the highest influence on the intentions of drink-driving, followed by influence of smoking and exercise on the intentions of drink-driving. This finding indicates that driver' life style such as smoking habit or exercise habit influences more on the intentions of drink-driving than attitude toward drink-driving or subjective regulations, which affirms that driver' life style such as smoking habit or exercise habit has significant effects on the intentions of drink-driving. Therefore, it is concluded that rehabilitative curriculum for drink-drivers should include a program to diminish drink-driving through nonsmoking and exercise habit.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze mothers' eating, cooking, and exercise habits based on their demographic characteristics and to examine the relationship between those habits and their late school-aged children's Broca index. A total of 393 questionnaires were mailed to the mothers of late school-aged children who registered at four elementary schools in the Seoul area, of which 159 participants (40.0%) completed questionnaires. Statistical data analyses were performed using SPSS/Win 21.0 for descriptive statistics, t-test ANOVA, and Pearson's regression coefficient. There was a statistically significant difference in mothers' cooking habit (F=3.920, P=0.022) and exercise habit (F=3.211, P=0.043) according to their educational level. Interestingly, 82.4% of mothers had a Broca index of less than 90% of normal body mass level. A significant positive correlation of Broca index between mothers and their late school-aged children (r=0.345, P<0.001) indicated that children whose mothers had a low body mass level also tended to have a low body mass level. In this study, late school-aged children's Broca index was not significantly related with mother's eating (r=-0.072, P=0.367) or exercise habits (r=-0.010, P=0.897) but was significantly related with their mother's cooking habits (r=-0.157, P=0.048). Considering there are few studies examining the impacts of mother's cooking habits on their children's appropriate body mass, the results suggest that developing an effective educational program to cultivate mothers' healthy cooking habits to improve school-aged children's health status is very important. The findings of this study provide important data that could be used when developing health education programs tailored to the multi-dimensional impacts of mothers' life habits on their last school-aged children's developmental health status.

  • This study was performed in order to identify the relation between bone nineral density and life styles of some of Korean colleage students. A total of 121 college students were assessed through bone mineral density test on femoral neck and lumbar spine using dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DEXA). The survey about their lifestyles with a self-rating questionnaire, was conducted from September 2014 to November 2014. SPSS 18.0 Program was used for those research data analyses such as the frequency analysis, the cross analysis. The percentage of the osteoporisis, osteopenia and normal groups were 0.0%, 24.8% and 75.2%. BMI, Regular menstrual cycle, Walking and Regular exercise in adolescence were positively related with T-score. But Using time of electronic devices was negative related with T-score. It can be concluded that desirable life style in time of college students and adolescence is important for their bone health. The necessity of preparing guideline for preventing bone disease in old age connected with the school curriculum should be recognized to the public and educational authorities.

  • The purpose of the this study was to examine the comparison of bone mineral density and health related physical fitness induced exercise habits, drinking habits and salt consumption habits on middle-age women. Using a cross-sectional approach, we studied 331 middle-age women who visited the C health center. Subjects were divided into 3 groups depended on exercise habits(sedentary, exercise less than twice a week and more than three time a week), 3 groups depended on drinking habits(non-drinker, low drinker, high drinker), also 3 groups depended on salt consumption habits(low, middle, high), respectively. We measured bone mineral density and health related physical fitness. One-way ANOVA were used to assess differences among 3 groups divided on life habits. Significance was accepted at p<.05. Exercise habits showed significant difference in BMD & % body fat. But another variables showed no significant difference. Also, drinking and salt consumption habits showed no significant differences among the groups. This study suggests that regular exercise can improve bone health and body fat.

  • This study was intended to investigate food, exercise habits, perception of health status and the effects of nutrient intake of female college students. Food habits such as regularity of meal time, repast of breakfast, numbers of night snack per week and duration of meal were assessed via a self reporting questionnaire, and 24hrs recall method for nutrient intake was obtained from 155 female college students in Yangju-si. The mean height and weight of the subjects were $161.25{\pm}3.52cm$ and $52.26{\pm}4.52kg$, respectively. The average intakes of energy and nutrients were below the Korea recommended dietary allowance(RDA). Especially, The nutrient intakes(energy, protein, fat, fiber, calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, sodium, potassium, vitamin B6, niacin, vitamin C, folate, vitamin E, cholesterol) of the group in which the regularity of meal time per week was 5~7 days was significantly higher than the group in which the regularity of meal time was < 3 days (p<0.005). The nutrient intakes influenced by the food habit such as the regularity of meal time, skipping breakfast, and the numbers of night snack per week but did not differ in accordance with the regular exercise habits and perception of health status. These findings suggest that nutritional education based on female college students' food habits(regularity of meal time, skipping breakfast and night snacks per week, and duration of meal) may be required to improve dietary variety. It is considered that the improvement in dietary habits will contribute to the improvement of nutrition.
