  • This study investigated the association between depression and oral health and the factors influencing depression in adults. Data on 13,199 people (male 5,793, female 7,406; age ≥19 years old) were extracted from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey VIII (KNHANES VIII) (2016~2018) and analyzed using frequency, percentage, an x2 test, a T-test, and logistic regression analysis. Depression was defined as either a medical diagnosis or a score ≥10 on Patient Health Questionnaire-9. The probability of depression was found to be statistically different for general characteristics, such as gender, age, school grade, income, and drinking. The logistic regression analysis showed that the independent variables, general health awareness (OR=9.094, 95% CI 7.139~11.585) and oral health awareness (OR=1.936, 95% CI 1.465~2.560), were associated with depression, and speaking discomfort, chewing discomfort, oral pain (within 1 year), and prosthesis were found to increase depression probability. The depression probability was also was found to significantly increase by 1.81 times if brushing frequency was less that once a day, if people used dental floss (OR=1.42), and had to have an oral examination (OR=1.31). These results indicated that oral health and oral health behaviors are associated with the depression, with the influencing factors having oral health and behavior-related characteristics. Therefore, proper oral health and oral health risk factor behavior management programs should be developed to assist in reducing depression.

  • The purpose of this research is to comparatively meta-analyze the total, short-term, and long-termeffectiveness of cases involving care of the elderly depression in the age range of 60 and over in the four countries, and to identify the relevant policy implications for developing depression care programmes for Korean older people. Ten studies conducted by RCT were found via AMED, EMBASE, Ovid Medline, PsycInfo. Use of Review Manager(5.5 version) shows that the interventions for caring depression were all effective: total effectiveness is OR=0.47(95% CI), short-termeffectiveness is OR=0.37(95% CI), and long-term effectiveness is OR=0.61(95% CI). This research provides three policy implications: Firstly, elements for increasing the long-term effectiveness of depression care interventions should be applied to all new programmes for caring elderly depression. Secondly, more focused depression interventions should be applied during the first half period of care programmes for elderly men, whilst the focus should be shifted to the last half period for elderly women. Finally, new interventions for caring depression that integrate both the medical and social support model of depression should be designed for elderly Koreans.

  • There is exhibit a degree of pain in the occurrence and course of treatment levels or oral, pain rating scale actions, such as illness, for example, the discomfort scale because of the pain "annoying", "unpleasant" "annoyed am", "painful" represents a pain scale of the order of "painful", "hard to bear", "very difficult to bear". Depression is recognized based on the premise of the situation, because it is difficult to recognize themselves. • Single-person households are steadily increasing every year, and unlike multi-person households, the incidence of depression is higher because they are mentally isolated. There are many causes of depression, including physical activity, family size, and stress. Less physical activity and more stress are associated with higher rates of depression. As the number of single-person households increased, and the COVID-19 outbreak in 2019 caused restrictions on physical activity due to the overlapping pandemic, the stress index increased, resulting in many depressed patients. Since many patients do not receive treatment even if they develop depression, we propose a depression management system to increase access to treatment for depression.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of stress factors on fatigue and depression of aesthetician. The subjects of this study were 133 Aesthetician in Busan Metropolitan City. Analysis was done by frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA and regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, the aesthetician showed an average 2.57 of job stress. Second, the aesthetician showed an average 2.45 of socio-psychological stress. Third, the aesthetician showed an average fatigue(4.16) and depression(1.54). Therefore, in order to reduce the duties and socio-psychological stress of the aesthetician, fatigue and depression are reduced through regularization of the employees, adjustment of legal working hours, and establishment of similar paying system. Finally, it is necessary to lower the turnover rate of the aesthetician and increase the job satisfaction.

  • Depression is one of the greatest health concerns in the world. Symptoms include emotion disorders, loss of appetite, reduction in interest, and insomnia. The prevalence of depression is increasing rapidly around the world and in South Korea. Elderly people are vulnerable to depression, resulting in serious socioeconomic problems. Depression in the elderly can cause sleep disorders, cognitive impairment, memory impairment, and many other diseases. Additionally, depression can cause frailty, which is associated with increased falls, chronic diseases, and mortality. Therefore, this study empirically analyzed sleep disorders in relation to depression, the link between exercise and the hippocampus in mitigating depression, and physical activity and exercise in the management of depression for successful aging.

  • On the contrary to the steady rise of social problems about depression, only a few take care of mental health themselves due to their negative perception of psychotherapy. In this study, we propose service design and user interface design of mobile applications that introduce an automatic emotional recognition system to prevent leaving depression unattended. First, we have come up with improvements in the usability of existing apps through literature research and case analysis, and draw out Personas from surveys and in-depth interviews of young people. As an essential element of the design of the Depression Improvement Service, we recommend having three components: writing a diary to manage schedule, recognize users' emotional state through avatar management, and tracking down emotional points to improve the cognitive system. Through this proposal, we want to prevent the development of depression and help to resolve the changes in perception of depression and longitude depression on our own. Ultimately, we publicize the necessity of mental health care application design and expect to lower the personal and social costs for psychiatric care.
