  • Recently, Start-ups has been emphasized as part of a career-breaking women returning to society policy. To this Policy, the relationship between the planned happenstance skills and the entrepreneurial intentions of a career-breaking woman was investigated, and the successful role model as an individual environmental factor and the moderating effect of social support forces was verified. The results of the survey analysis of 139 women who have experienced career cut-offs in the metropolitan area and Dae-gu and Gyeong-buk are as follows; First, the planned happenstance skills of career-breaking women affect a positive effect on the entrepreneurial intentions. Second, it was found that the moderating effect of the successful role model does not appear in the relationship between the planned happenstance skills of a career-breaking woman and the entrepreneurial intentions. Third, it was found that there was no moderating effect of the social support forces in the relationship between the planned happenstance skills and the entrepreneurial intentions of a career-breaking woman. Last, It was found that the entrepreneurial intentions, which is a personal psychological characteristic for career-breaking women is more directly affected than personal environments. In order to increase career-breaking women's the entrepreneurial intentions, it is necessary to develop psychological skill-building programs which can enhance the accessibility of start-ups and raise the perception of Start-ups. In addition, it is necessary to continuously expand exposure opportunities such as role models and success stories which succeeded in starting a business after a career break and to expand social support forces that can help with courage, advice, and change management to discover opportunities of start-ups.

  • Previous studies on the effect of incidental semantic priming on judgment, have focused mainly on mutually exclusive hypotheses. However, the present study explored whether incidental semantic activation affects diagnostic inference depending on the type of the hypothesis: mutually exclusive hypotheses vs compatible hypotheses. In Experiment 1, in case of mutually exclusive hypotheses, the final hypothesis was selected according to the incidental semantic priming, but there was no difference in the number of generated hypothesis in comparison with the control. However, for compatible hypotheses (i.e., both hypotheses can be true), the semantic priming affected the number of generated hypotheses, but not the selection of the final hypothesis. The same pattern of results was observed even when the cognitive load was increased. In Experiment 2, we found a boundary condition of incidental semantic activation on diagnostic inference. When cues related to each of the hypotheses were presented simultaneously, the incidental semantic effect disappeared. These results suggest that people consider all possible cues when making diagnostic inference in daily life. In light of these findings, further research on hypothesis generation/evaluation should take the type of hypothesis into account.

  • This study investigates levels of thinking of elementary and middle school students doing their tasks of explaining and dealing with variability. According to results, on the task of explaining variability in the measurement settings five levels of thinking were identified: a lack of understanding of explanation of the causes, an insufficient understanding of the causes, an offer of physical causes, consideration of unexplained causes as the source of variability, and consideration of unexplained causes as quasi-chance variability. Also, in the chance settings five levels of thinking were identified: a lack of understanding of explanation of the causes, an insufficient understanding of the causes, an offer of physical causes, recognition of chance variability, and consideration of causes of distribution. On the task of dealing with variability in both the measurement and chance settings five levels of thinking were identified: a lack of understanding of dealing with variability, no physical control and improper statistical control, no physical control and proper statistical control, physical control and improper statistical control, and physical control and proper statistical control.

  • This paper aims to complete the results obtained through various technical experiments in sculptures, not to derive the results through the existing design process. To this end, for the purpose of visually completing the accidental curve, an experiment was conducted to induce accidental curves using hitting on a metal craft, raising, and press techniques in which accidental curves can be obtained. As a result, the accidental curve was visually represented using red copper and brass through various compression methods using the press, which showed the best effect, and was completed with a candlestick. Through this, it was possible to obtain results through a technique-oriented modeling methodology rather than a design method that focuses on the meaning of form. I hope that the metal craft techniques will continue to be experimented with and that various researches using them will continue in the future.

  • According to Field, mathematical objects do not exist but they might have existed. In this paper I examine how persuasive this 'contingent' nominalism could be. For this I give a detailed analysis of the recent debate on the contingency of mathematical objects. I argue that the putative connection between contingency and explanation could still be sustained, but an independent argument is needed in order to support a general principle underlying the connection. I show that the attacks based on the anti-insularity principles already reflect their own positions on the modal status of the existence of mathematical objects.

  • Prior research on attribution has paid much attention to cognitive processes through which people infer causes. However, surprising omission from this research stream is the role of unconscious priming of different causes in task satisfaction and re-performance intention. This research is conducted to examine how attributing to different causes (chance vs. effort) via priming procedure affects task satisfaction and re-performance intention. To do this, participants were assigned to either chance-priming or effort-priming attribution condition and asked to answer O/X quiz (Exp 1) or multiple choice questions (Exp 2). Then, we provided 'Good' or 'Bad' feedback to participants randomly regardless of their actual task results. Finally, we measured their task satisfaction and re-performance intention. Results indicate that task satisfaction is affected by the valence of feedback they received but re-performance intention is influenced by interaction between attribution priming and the valence of feedback. Specifically, when receiving 'Good' feedback, participants in effort-priming condition have higher re-performance intention than those in chance-priming condition, whereas when receiving 'Bad' feedback, participants in effort-priming condition have lower re-performance intention than those in chance-priming condition. Implications of the findings are discussed in relation to the research for induction and decision making as well as psychology of addiction.
