  • 해양환경에 관한 정보는 효율적인 연안 해역 관리를 위해 필수적이며, 해양환경요소에 대한 분석을 위해 현장 실측자료뿐 아니라 과거자료, 현재자료, 예측자료 등이 요구된다. 또한 연안환경 관리자뿐 아니라 해상관련 종사자, 어민 등이 해양환경 정보에 빠르게 쉽게 접근할 있는 기반이 마련되어야 한다. 최근에는 물에 관련된 정보를 효율적으로 관리하고 제공해야 하는 필요성이 증가함에 따라 물정보학(Hydroinformatics)이 크게 관심을 받고 있으며, 학술지 발간 및 학술회의 개최 등을 통해 이에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으나 연안환경에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 체계적인 연안환경 분석을 위해서는 방대한 시공간 자료가 필요할 것으로 예상되며, 지속적인 모니터링을 위한 통합시스템이 요구되므로 다양한 관측방법 적용될 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 인공위성을 활용하여 연안환경 변화를 모니터링 할 수 있는 방안을 제안하기 위해 국외의 연구사례들을 분석하고, 우리나라 연안환경에 적합한 위성을 조사함으로써 연안환경 분석과 관련하여 관측 가능한 인자들을 파악하고자 한다. 이를 통해 연안환경 모니터링을 보다 체계적으로 수행하기 위한 인공위성 기법의 특징들을 이해하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 향후 서해안지역의 연안 환경 변화 탐지를 위한 알고리즘을 구축하여 한반도 연안환경분석을 위한 인공위성의 유용성을 검증할 계획이다.

  • John Woo's A Better Tomorrow arrived at the turning point of Korean society between 1987 and 1988. The Hong Kong movie boom that started here reached its peak around the 1990s. What does this phenomenon mean? Hong Kong action films have functioned as an important resource for Korean young male subculture since the late 1960s. The audience of A Better Tomorrow matches the audience of previous Hong Kong films in a generational and gendered way. The fascination of Hong Kong action films by young Korean men from 1987 to 1991 has nothing to do with Hong Kong's political context. However, a certain affect is shared between Korean and Hong Kong audiences. It could be said to be the brotherhood within the struggling group. The affective economies of this fraternity embodies the broad solidarity of 1987, the solidarity of comrades seeking to resist the violence of the world. It also works on symbolic and practical gender bias. In other words, this loyalty is nothing but loyalty between the (male) brothers who are confronting the injustice of the world. This is the "translational possibility" of A Better Tomorrow.

  • Signs of the street and scenes of the nature(tree) popping up like a still screen in a monotonously repeated routine, as if waiting for something by chance, characters appearing and disappearing without special meaning, advise you to get away from cliché meetings and breakups while repeating it. The images of people returning to their places without presenting any conclusions highlights the coincidences and unexpectedness of everyday life, but are so familiar that it is easy to be overlooked, it brings us to experience the potential of everyday unfamiliarity in such moments. The actor's performance, which deviates from the practice of well-organized characters, is improvised (unplanned and uncoordinated) emphasized on the scene and expresses the everyday nature of his differentiated character freely like the reality as if he were locked up in a film structure but not confined to it, and as if he got used to the everyday life. Also the repeated words and actions of characters, and unpredictable changes of emotions, centered by the encounters and conversations of this film of Hong Sang-soo, everything that is presented in the background of everyday life in its form, let's us pay attention to the meaning and what to be found in the film. In addition, director Hong Sang-soo, who creates a story after selecting actors to reproduce this daily process in a realistic manner, sets new relationships between the characters and the actors, presenting a new method of realistic expression, through the actor who repeatedly appears in the film. This study analyzes the everyday characters and acting of the film based on director Hong Sang-soo's directing style.

An inter-comparison of satellite-based soil moisture over East Asia (동아시아 지역 토양수분 산출 위성 평가)

  • 인공위성을 이용한 토양수분의 측정은, 범지구적인 물순환 분석에 있어서, 수문학적인 인자들의 시공간적인 변화를 예측, 분석하는데 있어 가장 효율적인 방법으로 제안되어왔다. 현재 국/내 외 적으로 사용하는 토양수분 위성은 Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS), Advanced SCATerometer (ASCAT)이 많이 사용되고 있으며, 더불어 일본에서 최근에 발사 된 Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiomter 2 (AMSR2) 센서를 통한 토양수분도 데이터도 적극 활용 되고 있다. 각 위성은 토양수분을 산출 하는 알고리즘, 파장대 그리고 위성 통과 시간 등이 각기 다르므로, 이러한 위성의 데이터를 사용하기 위해서는 지점 데이터와의 검증이 필수적으로 필요하게 된다. 이에따라 본 연구에서는 위성 데이터와 Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS)와의 비교를 통해 각 위성데이터의 동아시아 지역에서의 효용성을 평가하였다. 동아시아의 건조한 지역에서는 SMOS가 가장 좋은 토양수분 데이터 결과를 보여주었으며, 다른 많은 지역에서는 ASCAT이 우세한 결과를 보여주었다. 하지만 한반도 지역의 특정 지역에서는 AMSR2의 토양수분 값이 ASCAT을 뛰어넘는 좋은 결과를 보여주는 결과가 도출되었다. 추가적으로, SMOS의 경우 Radio Frequency Interference (RFI)의 영향으로 한반도지역 토양수분을 측정하는 것에는 많은 무리가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 유역의 홍수량 산정하기 위해서 데이터기반 모형, 개념적 모형, 프로세스 기반 모형과 같은 다양한 개념의 수문학적 모형이 개발되고 적용성이 검토되고 있다. 물리기반 강우-유출관계 모형의 경우, 이론적으로 강우유출응답의 연속 모의에 적합하다고 알려져 있으나 모형 구성에 필요한 수문자료 확보의 한계성 때문에 실절적인 적용에 어려움이 있다. 또한 수문 자료가 충분하지 않거나, 없는 미계측 유역에서 홍수량을 산정하기 위해서는 기존의 수문 관측 시스템의 데이터를 이용하기 어렵기 때문에 레이더 및 위성 등을 이용한 다양한 기상수문데이터 도입이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 관측된 자료와 함께 모델기반 수문기상 시스템인 GLDAS(Global Land Data Assimilation System, GLDAS)의 자료를 이용하여 개념적 강우-유출관계 모형인 PMD(Probaility Distributed Model, PMD)을 통해 홍수량을 모의하는 방법을 적용하였다. 이를 위해 개념적 강우유출관계 모형을 구성하고, 공간적 토양저류(soil moisture storage)분포를 산정하기 위해 토양의 함수상태를 산출하였다. 이같은 접근법은 수문 자료의 제한, 모형 검정의 문제와 같은 어려움을 해결하기 위한 대안으로 제시할 수 있으며, 분석 결과로부터 모델기반 수문기상 자료와 개념적 강우-유출관계 모형의 활용가능성을 검증할 계획이다.

Features of sample concepts in the probability and statistics chapters of Korean mathematics textbooks of grades 1-12 (초.중.고등학교 확률과 통계 단원에 나타난 표본개념에 대한 분석)

  • This study is the first step for us toward improving high school students' capability of statistical inferences, such as obtaining and interpreting the confidence interval on the population mean that is currently learned in high school. We suggest 5 underlying concepts of 'discretion of contingency and inevitability', 'discretion of induction and deduction', 'likelihood principle', 'variability of a statistic' and 'statistical model', those are necessary to appreciate statistical inferences as a reliable arguing tools in spite of its occasional erroneous conclusions. We assume those 5 concepts above are to be gradually developing in their school periods and Korean mathematics textbooks of grades 1-12 were analyzed. Followings were found. For the right choice of solving methodology of the given problem, no elementary textbook but a few high school textbooks describe its difference between the contingent circumstance and the inevitable one. Formal definitions of population and sample are not introduced until high school grades, so that the developments of critical thoughts on the reliability of inductive reasoning could not be observed. On the contrary of it, strong emphasis lies on the calculation stuff of the sample data without any inference on the population prospective based upon the sample. Instead of the representative properties of a random sample, more emphasis lies on how to get a random sample. As a result of it, the fact that 'the random variability of the value of a statistic which is calculated from the sample ought to be inherited from the randomness of the sample' could neither be noticed nor be explained as well. No comparative descriptions on the statistical inferences against the mathematical(deductive) reasoning were found. Few explanations on the likelihood principle and its probabilistic applications in accordance with students' cognitive developmental growth were found. It was hard to find the explanation of a random variability of statistics and on the existence of its sampling distribution. It is worthwhile to explain it because, nevertheless obtaining the sampling distribution of a particular statistic, like a sample mean, is a very difficult job, mere noticing its existence may cause a drastic change of understanding in a statistical inference.

  • is a film that lifted Director Joon Ho Bong and Korea to the world-class level. A number of researchers have released findings of studies on based on their own interests and perspectives. The current study discussed the historical facts of black comedy in film and how black comedy from play has been used for epic characteristics and formal measures, although it was not a specific rule, through the perspectives of contemporary writers, such as Beckett, Ionesco, Durrenmatt, and Brecht. Some tools used for comedies and tragedies shared the same concept with black comedy in film and black comedy was a unique characteristic of film. The study analyzed how black comedy was signified in for paradox and nonalignment of purpose/intent and consequences as epic characteristics and parody, grotesque, and coincidence as formal measures. It also discussed the meaning of Director Bong's black comedy in and how the audience accepted it. Both the contemporary writers and Director Bong has a compassionate perspective, but the his was different from the work of other contemporary writers. Usefulness of F-18 FDG PET/CT in Adrenal Incidentaloma: Differential Diagnosis of Adrenal Metastasis in Oncologic Patients (부신 우연종에서 F-18 FDG PET/CT의 유용성: 악성 종양 환자에서 부신 전이의 감별진단)

  • Purpose: We have evaluated characteristics of adrenal masses incidentally observed in nonenhanced F-18 FDG PET/CT of the oncologic patients and the diagnostic ability of F-18 FDG PET/CT to differentiate malignant from benign adrenal masses. Materials and Methods: Between Mar 2005 and Aug 2008, 75 oncologic patients (46 men, 29 women; mean age, $60.8{\pm}10.2$ years; range, 35-87 years) with 89 adrenal masses incidentally found in PET/CT were enrolled in this study. For quantitative analysis, size (cm), Hounsfield unit (HU), maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), SUVratio of all 89 adrenal masses were measured. SUVmax of the adrenal mass divided by SUVliver, which is SUVmax of the segment 8, was defined as SUVratio. The final diagnosis of adrenal masses was based on pathologic confirmation, radiologic evaluation (HU<0 : benign), and clinical decision. Results: Size, HU, SUVmax, and SUVratio were all significantly different between benign and malignant adrenal masses.(P < 0.05) And, SUVratio was the most accurate parameter. A cut-off value of 1.0 for SUVratio provided 90.9% sensitivity and 75.6% specificity. In small adrenal masses (1.5 cm or less), only SUVratio had statistically significant difference between benign and malignant adrenal masses. Similarly a cut-off value of 1.0 for SUVratio provided 80.0% sensitivity and 86.4% specificity. Conclusion: F-18 FDG PET/CT can offer more accurate information with quantitative analysis in differentiating malignant from benign adrenal masses incidentally observed in oncologic patients, compared to nonenhanced CT.

  • Celiac artery aneurysms are rare, their incidence being reported as only 4% of all visceral artery aneurysms. Atherosclerosis and medial degenerative changes are recognized main pathogenesis. They are usually asymptomatic and diagnosed incidentally, but the mortality rate of ruptured celiac artery aneurysm is approximately 80%. So one should give an aggressive surgical aid to the patients. We report 2 cases of celiac artery aneurysm which were successfully treated by elective aneurysmorrhaphy and anerysmectomy with aortoceliac bypass graft.
