  • 본 소고에서는 Al-Zn-Mg 계통의 고강도 알루미늄합금의 제조과정에서 실시하는 열처리 공정을 통해 얻어지는 시효경화 효과, 합금원소 첨가에 따른 석출물의 생성과 이에 따른 석출경화 효과와 용착금속의 응고균열 발생과의 상호관계를 조사하고 용접열영향부의 용질원자 확산과 입계의 liquid film에 의한 액화(liquation) 균열의 생성을 분석하여 설명하고자 한다.

기어의 스코어링 강도해석

  • 기어가 비교적 큰 하중과 고속의 운전상태에서 사용되는 경우 되풀이 응력에 의한 피로를 대상으로 하는 면압이나 굽힘강도 이외에 치면에서 발생되는 긁힘이나 융착(瀜着) 또는 용착(溶着)을 대상으로 한 스코어링(scoring) 강도를 고려하여야 한다. 스코어링은 주로 치의 이끝 부분에서 접촉방향으로 긁힘이 나타나는 손상으로 특징지워진다. 미국기어제조협회(AGMA)에서는 윤활막 파손에 의한 금속과 금속과의 접촉에 기인하여 발생되는 여러형태의 손상, 예를 들면 scuffing, seizing, galling 등을 광범위하게 스코어링으로 통칭하고 있다. 미국계통의 기술분야에서는 스코어링을 고온 스코어링(hot scoring)과 저온 스코어링(cold scoring)으로 구분하고 있다. 고온 스코어링은 고속 운전시 표면의 섬광온도(flash temperature)에 기인한 용착과 접촉방향으로 재료를 이탈시키는 형태를 나타내고, 저온 스코어링은 저속의 기어에서 윤활막 파단으로 표면에 줄질(filing)한 듯한 손상이 발생되는 것을 나타낸다. 유럽에서는 고온 스코어링 손상은 스커핑이라 하고 저온 스코어링손상만을 스코어링이라 부르고 있다.

  • Ultrasonic metal welder is consisted of power supply, transducer, booster, and horn. Precise designing is required since each parts' shape, length and mass can affect driving frequency and vibration mode. This paper analyzed Cu sheet deposition characteristics using ultrasonic metal welder and tension tester. A horn suitable for 40,000Hz was attached to the ultrasonic metal welder in order to weld Cu plates. The Cu sheet welding was done with different amplitude, pressure, and welding time, and its maximum tension was measured with tension tester. Maximum tension of 153.87N was obtained when the pressure was 2.0bar, amplitude was 80%, and welding time was 0.30s. Therefore, excessive welding condition negatively influences maximum tension measurement result.

  • This paper designed the horn of half-wave needed for Ultrasonic meta) welding. The horn has to be designed and manufactured accurately, because measurements such as the shape, length, mass and etc. have effects on the resonant frequency and the vibration mode. Designed horn of half-wave has the feature of 40,000Hz of nature frequency, and maximizes vibration range in the Tip by resonance in the frequency of ultrasonic wave machine. In this study, we calculated and analyzed the natural frequency to find the optimal design of the horn that amplified the amplitude about double by the modal analysis and harmonic analysis using ANSYS. And we did FFT analysis of the manufactured horn.

This paper gives a description of an experimental study of the ultrasonic welding of metals. A horn suitable for 40,000Hz was attached to the ultrasonic metal welder in order to weld Cu sheet. The Cu sheet welding was done with different amplitude, pressure and welding time, and its maximum tension was measured. Maximum tension of 177.99N was obtained when the pressure was 2.5bar, amplitude was 80%, and welding time was 0.34sec. Therefore, excessive welding condition negatively influences maximum tension measurement result.

Ultrasonic metal welding machine consists of a power supply, a transducer, a booster and a horn. This paper designed the horn needed for Ultrasonic metal welding. The horn has to be designed and manufactured accurately, because measurements such as the shape, length, mass and etc. have effects on the resonant frequency and the vibration mode. The designed horn has the feature of 40,000Hz of nature frequency, and maximizes vibration range in the Tip by resonance in the frequency of ultrasonic wave machine.   • TIG 용접에서는 후판 용접의 경우 용입의 한계 때문에 깊고 넓은 그루브 가공을 하여 다층 용접을 한다. 이 때, 그루브를 채우는 용착금속에 의한 응고 수축과 과대한 입열로 인한 변형이 문제시 되고 있다. 변형을 줄이기 위해서는 용착금속의 양과 입열량을 줄여야 한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 그루브의 루트패이스를 두껍게 하고 그루브각을 줄여서 용착량을 줄인다. 이때, 좁은 그루브에서 두꺼운 루트패이스를 완전 용입할 수 있는 용접 프로세스가 필요하다. 비드가 좁고 깊은 용입 특성을 가지는 Plasma welding(PAW) 경우에는 좁은 그루브 속에 토치가 접근하기 어려워 적용하기 어렵다. 따라서 접근성이 용이한 TIG 용접에서 높은 용입형상비를 가지는 용접공정 개발이 필요하다. 선행연구로 높은 용입 형상비를 가지는 Active flux Tungsten Inert Gas(ATIG) 용접이 연구되었다. ATIG의 용입 증가 메커니즘으로는 Marangoni effect, 음이온들로 인한 아크 수축 효과, 절연 플럭스에 의한 아크 수축효과 등으로 알려져 있다. 또한 선행연구에서 ATIG에서 Ar가스에 He 또는 $H_2$ 가스를 첨가하면 용입이 더욱 증가하는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 A-TIG에 He 가스를 적용하고 아크길이 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm와 전극 선단각 30도, 60도, 90도에 따른 용입 형상비와 변형량을 검토하기 위해 실험을 하였다. 실험 결과는 아크길이가 감소할수록 전극 선단각이 증가할수록 용입 형상비는 증가하였고, 변형량은 감소하였다.

  • This paper is studied on the influence of machining conditions on weldability obtained by ultrasonic machining. The weldability estimation of dissimilar Ni-Cu sheets with the optimization of one-wavelength horn is confirmed by the use of ultrasonic machining. The optimal welding condition with tensile test by setting the ultrasonic machining parameters is suggested and the weldability is estimated by SEM observation and EDX-ray analysis. Experimental studies are worked with the measure of tensile strength and the analysis of SEM photograph after the ultrasonic machining of workpiece. Machining parameters of machining time, pressure, and amplitude are also applied to this paper.

Evaluation of mechanical Characteristic according to the Filler Metal by GTA welding Process using 7075 Aluminum Alloy (알루미늄 합금 7075의 용가재에 따른 GTA용접공정의 기계적 특성 평가)

  • In the GTA welding process of Al 7075 alloy using different types of filler metals, the tensile test and micro-hardness test were conducted to evaluate the mechanical characteristics. Also, the radiographic test result showed that the weld met the criterion of level 1 in accordance with KS D 0242 for verifying the welding integrity and there were no welding defects. The tensile test result obtained using Al 7075 as a filler metal showed that the material was fractured in the weld zone. The tensile strengths of the materials using Al 7075 and ER 4043 as the filler metal were about 240MPa and 253MPa, their yield strengths were about 132MPa and 120MPa and their elongation percentages were 6.6% and 13%, respectively. The micro-hardness value of the deposited metal zone when using Al 7075 as the filler metal was Hv 132. However, the micro-hardness of the material using ER4043 as the filler metal was about 24% lower than that using Al 7075. When the chemical composition of the filler metal is the same as that of the material itself, fracture can occur in the deposited metal zone. Therefore, it is not desirable to use the same material as the filler metal for the welding of Al 7075 alloy. Moreover, the use of Al-Si based ER 4043 as a filler metal is more desirable than using the same material as a filler metal for welding Al 7075.
