P 분포 블록하중에 의한 용접부의 누적피노 손상에관한 연구 (A study of cumulative damage of carbon steel(SM45C) welded joint by block load with p-distribution)

  • The most fatigue tests carried out under the either stress or strain control, but machines and structures had taken variable stress. This variable stress was treated as statistics based on p-type distributions. In this paper, the cumulative fatigue damage of SM45C round bar specimens having a center hole resulting from block loading with p-distributions in rotating bending conditions, is presented. The value of p was changed in the range from 0.25 to 1; 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1. The following conclusions were obtained through the constant stress amplitude experiments and the block loading experiments. (1) In constant loading test, fatigue life was affected by cyclic rate. From experimental data, N$_{f}$ (100cpm)/N$_{f}$(3000cpm)equal to 0.56. (2) In case of the cyclic rate 100cpm and 3000cpm, at the high stress amplitude level the crack propagation life N$_{*}$f is longer than the low stress amplitude level. (3) Miner's hypothesis may be valid for p=0.75 and prediction of fatigue life by Haibach's method agree with experimental data well for the case p=0.5, while the modified Miner's method agree with experimental data well for the case p=0.25.5.

동-텅스텐 소결합금(Cu-W)과 동(Cu)의 마찰용접에서 마찰압력이 접합강도와 파단특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Friction Pressure on Bonding Strength and a Characteristic of Fracture in Friction Welding of Cu to Cu-W Sintered Alloy)

  • A copper-tungsten sintered alloy(Cu-W) has been friction welded to a tough pitch copper in order to investigate the effect of friction pressure on bonding strength and a charicteristic of fracture. The tensile strength of the friction welded joint was increased up to 90% of the Cu base metal under the condition of friction time 1.2 sec, friction pressure 4.5kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$ and upset pressure 10kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$. From the results of fracture surface analysis, the increase of friction pressure could remarkably decrease the force and the time to be normally acted on weld interface. The W particles which were included in the plastic zone of Cu side could induce fracture adjacent to the weld interface because their existance in Cu induces a decrease in available section area and an increase in notch effect. Therefore, the tensile strength was decreased at high friction pressure (6kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$) because the destruction of W was increased by an increase in mechanical force and crack was formed at weld interface.

자동차 부품 산업에서의 정밀 기술

  • 최근 자동차가 편리성과 안전성을 추구함에 따라서 자동차 부품도 과거의 기계식 동작 방법에서 전자 제어 장치가 부착된 전자식 동작 방법으로 발전되어 가고 있는 추세입니다. 또한 연비 향상을 위하여 부품의 소형화가 급속히 추진되고 있습니다. 이러한 전자화, 소형화를 실현시키기 위해 자동차 부품에서의 정밀성이 요구되어 지고 있고, 부품 제조 측면에서는 고속화, 정확성이 요구되고 있는 실정입니다. 당사의 경우 CBS (Conventional Brake System)를 생산하다가 전자 제어 장치가 부착된 ABS (Anti-lock Brake System)의 생산을 시작할 때, 부품의 정밀도를 좌우하는 각 치수의 공차 영역이 전체적으로 CBS 대비 약 1/5 수준밖에 되지 않고, 가공 속도는 약 2 배가 빨라야 하기 때문에 생산 준비 단계에서 많은 시행 착오를 겪어야만 했습니다. 여기서 당사가 ABS를 양산하면서 겪은 경험을 토대로 기술토록 하겠습니다. 가공 기술의 경우 고속, 정밀 가공을 실현시키기 위해서 크게 4 가지 측면을 고려해야만 하며, 그 4가지는 설비, Tool Holder, Tool, Chip 측면입니다. 먼저 설비가 고정도가 되기 위해 고강성을 필요로 하는 것은 물론 가동중에 필연적으로 발생하는 열변형에 대한 대책을 수립하지 않으면 안됩니다. 이러한 열변형은 설비 설계 단계에서 대책을 수립할 수 있는 것도 있지만 주위 온도 변화에 의한 열변형처럼 사용 중에 발생되는 것은 설비 사용자가 장시간에 걸친 Data 를 확보하여 대책을 수립하지 않으면 안됩니다. 또한 Tool Holder의 정도도 일반적으로 사용하는 것보다는 고정도의 것이 요구되어지므로 Tool Holder Maker 에 반드시 요구 정도를 명기하여 주문하여야 합니다. Tool도 고속화를 실현시키기 위해 고정도의 다이아몬드 공구가 필요하였고 이를 국내에서 개발하기 위해 많은 시행 착오를 겪어야만 했습니다. 또한 Chip 배출이 고정도의 필수 고려 항목으로서 당사에서는 경우에 따라 여러 가지의 방법을 사용하고 있습니다. 조립 기술의 경우 스테인레스 박판을 열변형을 최소로 하면서 용접을 하기 위해서 레이저 용접을 도입하였고, 부품을 압입하면서 정확하고 정밀한 치수 셋팅을 위하여 서버 모타를 이용한 압입 방법을 사용하였습니다.

압력용기용 1.25Cr-0.5Mo 강의 Submerged Arc Welding시 입열 및 PWHT 냉각속도가 용접부 기계적 성질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Welding Heat Input and PWHT Cooling Rate on Mechanical Properties of Welded Region at SAW of 1.25Cr-0.5Mo Steel for Pressure Vessel)

  • In order to propose the optimum welding condition for field application, the effects of welding heat input and cooling rate at PWHT on the mechanical properties were investigated. Submerged arc welding of 1.25Cr-0.5Mo steel for pressure vessel was conducted at welding heat inputs of 15.2kJ/cm, 30.9kJ/cm, and 44.8kJ/cm, and cooling rates of 184$^{\circ}C$/hr, 55$^{\circ}C$/hr, and 2$0^{\circ}C$/hr at PWHT. From the test results, as the welding heat input increase up to 30.9kJ/cm, the changes of microstructure and impact toughness were small. At the heat input of 44.8kJ/cm, however, toughness decreased obviously due to the coarsening of coarse-grained HAZ and formation of ferrite at bainite grainboundary of weld metal. On the other hand, cooling rates at PWHT did not effect on the changes in microstructure and mechanical properties. Even though tensile strength and impact toughness at all welding conditions of this study were above the minimum specification requirement, it was confirmed that heat input of 30.9kJ/cm was the optimum welding condition to improve welding performance by higher heat input.

단일 과대하중에 의한 레이저 용접 판재의 피로균열 전파거동 (Effect of Single Overload on the Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Laser Welded Sheet Metal)

  • In this study, we investigated fatigue crack growth behavior of laser welded sheet metal due to a single overload. Fatigue specimens were made using butt joint of cold rolled sheet metal that was welded by $CO_2$ laser. The fatigue crack propagation tests were performed in such a way that fatigue loading was parallel to the weld line while crack propagation was perpendicular to the weld line. Single overload was applied when fatigue crack tip was arrived near the weld line. The distances between the crack tip and the weld line at which a single overload was applied were 6, 4 and 2mm. The effect of specimen thickness and overload ratio on the fatigue behavior was determined. The plastic zone size of crack tip due to the single overload was determined from the finite element analysis. For investigating fatigue crack growth behavior, we used different thickness specimen 0.9mm and 2.0mm, and variable overload ratio applied fatigue crack propagation test. 축계용 단조강재 보수 용접부의 피로 파괴 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of the Buliding Up by Welding on the Fatigue Fracture Behaviors for the Forged Steel)

  • In this paper, the fatigue strength and the fatigue crack propagation behaviors of the round bar specimens which were spirally built up by welding and subsequently hardened by quenching were investigated. The material used was SF60 which was whdely employed in mechanical components, especially shafts. Fatigue tests were conducted at the fully reversed condition(R=-1) and axial and load control in the room temperature ahd air environment. The experimental results were expressed by both the range of stress intensity factor ($\Delta{K}$) and the effective range of stress intensity factor ($\Delta{K}_{eff}$). It was clarified that applying of quenching after the building up welding process improved the fatigue strength and the gatigue crack propagation property in the low range of $\Delta{K}$ of the built up round bar specimen.

  • In this study, a series of fatigue tests are carried out in order to estimate quantitatively the characteristics of fatigue crack growth rate for high strength steels of SM570, POSTEN60, and POSTEN80 steel, that is, the influence on fatigue crack growth rate according to the welding line, the characteristics of fatigue crack growth according to the welding method and the kinds of steel, and the characteristics of fatigue crack growth for base metal, heat affected zone and weld metal. From the test results, in case that the notch if parallel to welding line, it knows that the retardations of fatigue crack growth rate in crack tip at early stage increase remarkably than in case that the notch is perpendicular to welding line due to compressive residual stress. And the characteristics of fatigue crack growth rate according to welding method are that the dispersion of fatigue crack growth rate in case of FCAW method is smaller than that of SAW method. Also, it knows that the fatigue crack growth rate converges in high stress intensity factor range.

미소시험편에 의한 강 용접부의 응력부식 균열 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stress Corrosion Cracking Evaluation for Weld Joint of Steel by Using Miniaturized Small Specimen)

  • The conventional SCC(stress corrosion cracking) test methods have much difficulty in evaluating the SCC behaviors of the localized zone like HAZ, bond line and weld metal because of the specimen size. Accordingly, the purpose of this paper is to develop the new SCC test method of the welded zone by evaluating the SCC susceptibility on parent metal and various microstructures of the welded zone by SP(small punch) test method using miniaturized small specimen and SSRT(slow strain rate test) method(SP-SSRT). Besides, this study is to verify the efficiency of the SP-SSRT results through AE(acoustic emission) test which is a useful technique to monitor the microfracture processes of the material. From the results of SCC susceptibility, SEM observation and AE test, it can be concluded that the SP-SSRT test using miniaturized small specimen(10mm*10mm*0.5mm) will be a good test method to evaluate the SCC susceptibility on the local zone such as the welded zone.

IN713LC-SCM440 이종재 마찰용접부의 부식특성에 미치는 pH의 영향 (The Effects of pH on the Corrosion Characteristics in Dissimilar Friction Welded Zone of IN713LC-SCM440)

  • The effect of pH on the corrosion characteristics in the dissimilar friction welded zone of IN713LC-SCM440 in the loaded torsional stress was studied. The corrosion experiment was performed for 120 hours on the specimens with five steps of pH. The surface corrosion pattern of the SCM440 area showed global corrosion and narrow pitting, which was caused by galvanic corrosion between friction welded IN713LC and SCM440, but corrosion did not proceeded from the IN713LC area. The average relative electrode potential gradually tends to decrease with the elapse of the immersion time in the acidity area. The average corrosion current also gradually tend to decrease The corrosion rate showed a larger value when the average relative electrode potential was higher and the average relative current was lower. The corrosion rate showed a larger value when the average relative electrode potential was higher in the acidity area, and it showed large when the average relative electrode potential was lower in the alkalinity area.

최적 충격특성에 갖는 차체구조용 점용접 박육단면부재의 개발 -충격속도변화에 따른 압궤특성을 중심으로- (Development of Vehicle Members with Spot Welded Thin-wall Section for Optimum Impart Characteristic -Based on Collapse Characteristics on the Varied Impact Velocities-)

  • This paper concerns the crashworthiness of the widely used vehicle structure, the spot welded hat and double hat shaped section members, which are excellent on the point of the energy absorbing capacity and low production cost. The target of this paper is to analyze the energy absorption capacity of the structure against the front-end collision, and to obtain useful information for designing stage. Changing the spot weld pitches on the flanges, the hat and double hat shaped section members were tested on the axial collapse loads in impact velocities of 4.72m/sec, 6.54m/sec, 7.19m/sec and 7.27m/sec. To efficiently review the collapse characteristics of these sections, the simulation have been carried out using explicit FEM package, LS-DYNA3D. The solutions are compared with results from the impact collapse experiments.
