교량용 강재 박스의 현장 제조시 셀프실드 플럭스코어드 아크용접의 적용 타당성에 대한 연구 (A Feasibility Study on the Application of Self-Shielded Flux Cored Arc Welding Process for the On-Site Steel Bridge Box Fabrication)

  • 본 연구에서는 구조용강 SM520을 사용하여 교량용 박스 제작시 플럭스 코어드 아크용접법에서 가스실드방식과 셀프실드방식의 두 공정으로 제작된 용접부를 건전성, 기계적 성질 및 미세조직에서 비교하였다. 그 결과 두 용접 프로세스에 의해 제작된 용접부들은 매크로 조직 및 비파괴 검사 결과 건전성이 입증되었고, 항복 및 인장강도가 각각 $462{\sim}549\;MPa$$548{\sim}640\;MPa$였고, CVN 충격치는 $-20^{\circ}C$에서 요구값인 40J을 충족하였다. 결과적으로, 고속철도나 고속도로 건설시 사용되는 교량용 SM520강 박스 제조시 고소 및 강풍 조건하에서 용접할 때 셀프실드 아크용접법은 기존의 가스실드 아크 용접법과 비교하여 대등한 용접 특성들을 보였기 때문에 현장 시공시 적용 타당성이 있다고 사료된다.

UT 신호형상 인식을 위한 Intelligence Package 개발과 Austenitic Stainless Steel Welding부 결함 분류에 관한 적용 연구 (Intelligence Package Development for UT Signal Pattern Recognition and Application to Classification of Defects in Austenitic Stainless Steel Weld)

  • 본 연구에서는 초음파 신호형상인식법을 이용하여 용접부의 인공 결함을 분류하기 위한 연구를 실시하였다. 이를 위해 신호처리 및 특징 변수를 추출할 때에 많은 사용자 정의 변수를 가지는 신호 형상 인식 패키지를 개발하였으며 디지탈 신호처리, 특징 변수 추출, 특징 변수의 선택, 분류기 선정 등의 과정을 일괄적으로 처리하였다. 특히, 선형 분류기, 경험적 Bayesian 분류기 등의 통계적 분류기와 신경회로망 분류기를 함께 사용하여 비교, 검토하였다. 이에 관한 적용 연구로 노치와 구멍으로 이루어진 인공 결함을 분류하였다. 그 결과 인공결함 분류에서 높은 인식률을 얻었으며, 특히 적절히 학습 시켰을 경우 신경회로망 분류기가 통계적 분류기에 비하여 인식률 면에서 유리하였다.

원자력발전소 주조 배관 용접부 위상배열 초음파검사 기술 개발 (Development of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Technique for Nuclear Power Plant Cast Piping Weld)

  • Cast austenitic stainless steel(CASS) is used in the primary cooling piping system of nuclear power plant for it's relative low cost, corrosion resistance and easy of welding. However, the coarse-grain structure of cast austenitic stainless steel can strongly affect the inspectability of ultrasonic testing. The major problems encountered during inspection are beam skewing, high attenuation and high background noise of CASS component. So far, the best inspection performance involving CASS components have been achieved using low frequency TRL(Transmitter/Receiver side-by-side L wave) angle beam probe. But TRL technique could not detect shallow defect and it contains an uncertainty for sizing capability. Currently, most of researchers are studying to overcome these challenge issue. In this study, low-frequency phased array TRL technique used to detect and sizing the flaws in CF8A cast austenitic stainless steel.As conclusion, we could detect and size not only axial flaw but also circumferential flaw using low frequency phased array technique.

  • The vision system is easy to use the exclusive use as a independent computer system but it is not much popularization by reason of expensive and difficult to adapt to the various fields, because it is easy to the existed computer system, the price is cheap and also it can use to the various measurement purpose which user wanted and programed. The measurement method of the vehicle axle casing nut welding part is that measure the value of the welding part to adapt the actual operation program from using the ratio between the actual length of the standard specimen and the length of image, to measure the ratio between the actual product and the camera image. A defect is found by the assembled visual inspection system. The inspection algorithm which estimates the quality of welded product is developed and also, the software program which processes the automatic test function of the inspection system. We make the foundation of the inspection automatic system and we will help to apply other welding machine.

ART2 알고리즘을 이용한 세라믹 영상에서의 결함 검출 (Fault Detection of Ceramic Imaging using ART2 Algorithm)

  • 세라믹 소재 영상은 사람의 육안으로 판단하기 힘든 내부 기공이나 균열, 이물질 등의 결함들이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 사람의 육안으로 검출하기 힘든 세라믹 소재로 이루어진 파이프 용접부에 있는 결함을 확인하기 위해 ART2 알고리즘을 이용하여 세라믹 영상에서 결함을 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 비파괴 검사는 본질에 손상이 전혀 가지 않는 검사 방법이기 때문에 소재의 결함 검출에 대해서는 적절한 방법이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Ends-In Search Stretching 기법을 적용하여 명암 대비를 강조하고, 명암 대비가 강조된 영상에서 삼각형 타입의 소속 함수를 이용한 퍼지 이진화 기법을 적용한 후, 임의의 패턴 입력에 대해서도 효과적으로 특징을 분류하는 개선된ART2 알고리즘을 적용하여 결함 영역을 검출한다. 제안된 방법을 세라믹 소재 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 기존의 방법보다 효율적으로 결함이 검출되는 것을 확인하였다.

디지털 방사선 투과영상의 식별도 평가 연구 (The Study on Image Sensitivity Evaluation For Digital Radiography Image)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the quality of digital radiography image with that of classical film images for welded structure in power plants. The CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) flat panel detecter and Agfa D5 film are used to image flaw specimens respectively. In the test, CMOS flat panel detector has been determined to have a better image than that of film image. In the IQI(Image Quality Indicator) transmission test, one or two more line can be seen in digital image than in film image. Digital Radiography Test enabled to successfully detect all defects on the weld specimens fabricated with real reheat stem pipe and boiler tube as well. In the specific comparison test, Digital radiography test detected micro flaws in the size of 0.5 mm in length by 0.5 mm in depth. However, film test has limited it to 1.0 mm in length by 1.0 mm in depth. As a result of this study, digital radiography technology is estimated well enough to perform the inspection in the industry with far more cost effective way, compared to the classical film test.

원전 주증기배관 웰더렛 용접부 위상배열초음파검사 적용연구 (A Study on the Application of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing to Main Steam Line in Nuclear Power Plants)

  • KSNPs(Korea Standard Nuclear Power Plant) have been applied the break exclusion criteria to the high energy lines passing through containment penetration area to ensure that piping failures would not cause the loss of containment isolation function, and to reduce the resulting dynamic effects. Systems with the criteria are the Main Steam system, Feed Water system, Steam Generator Blowdown system, and Chemical & Volume Control system. In accordance with FSAR(Final Safety Analysis Report), a 100% volumetric examination by augmented in-service inspection of all pipe welds appled the break exclusion criteria is required for the break exclusion application piping. However, it is difficult to fully satisfy the requirements of inspection because 12", 8" and 6" weldolet weldments of Main Steam pipe line have complex structural shapes. To resolve the difficulty on the application of conventional UT(Ultrasonic Testing) technique, realistic mock-ups and UT calibration blocks were made. Simulations of conventional UT were performed utilizing CIVA, a commercial NDE(Nondestructive Examination) simulation software. Phased array UT experiments were performed through mock-up including artificial notch type flaws. A phased array UT technique is finally developed to improve the reliability of ultrasonic test at main steam line pipe to 12", 8" and 6" branch connection weld.

  • Due to their elastic anisotropy, ultrasonic testing of austenitic welds, frequently used in nuclear power plants, is much more difficult than that of isotropic elements. For accurate testing of austenitic welds, ultrasonic wave phenomena therein must be full understood. This study uses an accurate and effective numerical model, the mass-spring lattice model, for such phenomena. By comparing the numerical results with the corresponding analytical results, it is shown that the model is capable of accurately predicting the generation, reflection, refraction, and scattering phenomena of ultrasonic waves in anisotropic austenite welds. Therefore, the mass-spring lattice model will provide a very useful tool for simulating ultrasonic testing of austenitic welds, and thus will contribute to the enhancement of reliability of such ultrasonic testing.

  • The ultrasonic handy scanner to be developed in this research is a nondestructive inspection equipment with various facility. The ultrasonic inspection is the technique area which apply range is increasing greatly with IT. The purpose of this research is development of a ultrasonic handy scan inspection device with the utility in a work spot. The ultrasonic handy scanner to be developed with portability in this research is able to carry out the spot inspection. It can contribute to the quality improvement, cost reduction and safety design.

서브 프레임 제작용 다목적 용접지그 개발 (Development of Multipurpose Welding Jig for Sub-Frame)

  • In commercial vehicle, sub-frame which equipped in main frame supporting dump deck and oil tanker. This is the main structure for all equipment which including joint function. Sub-frame is made by welding process, this susceptible to deform and crack by its longitudinal size. Also various kind of sub-frame make it difficult to standardization in manufacturing process and exclusive jig is not adapted yet. Frame size is over 6~8m and weight is more than 300kg this make re-work more difficult. If manufacturing company made precise sub-frame, this is not only convenient for customers but also save the company money by reducing the working time. In this study manufacture the sub-frame be suitable for its main function and develop exclusive welding jig for obtain checking fixture function as well.
