A Study on the Urban Morphological Implications by Implementation of the Conjoint Building Program within Architectural Heritage Promotion Districts (건축자산 진흥구역에서 결합건축 제도의 시행이 도시 형태에 미칠 영향에 관한 연구)

  • A primary objective the Conjoint Building Program(CBP), as articulated in the legislation proceedings as to stimulate renewal and regeneration of old deteriorated districts. By allowing the transfer of development rights between two lots located within 100m radius or the same block surrounded by 12m wide streets, CBP encourages reconstruction of old buildings with low investment value by linking it to another lot that can buy its unused floor area ration. Most of the debates and studies prior to the introduction of the new legislation focused on possible abuse in financial terms, and little research has been done to illustrate possible merits of deficiencies in term of urban morphological influences. This study offers a visual prediction of the various ways CBP can influence an urban block by reshaping and reorganizing it thrown augmented development rights to assess the pros and cons of the current program.

Change of Green Space Arrangement and Planting Structure of Apartment Complexes in Seoul (서울시 아파트단지의 녹지배치 및 식재구조 변화 연구)

  • This study was carried out to propose the improved method by analyzing the change of green space arrangement and planting structure of apartment complexes in Seoul. 12 survey sites, which have obvious differences, were selected by reflecting the change of floor area ratio, underground parking place, and green space ratio. We divided the survey sites into four types that high green ratio(over 40%) apartment on natural ground, low green ratio(under 40%) apartment on natural ground, low green ratio(under 40%) apartment on artificial ground, and high green ratio(over 40%) apartment on artificial ground each period based on green space ratio and ground structure, plant crown volume, planting density, and planting pattern. The main factors of change of green space arrangement were green space ratio and ground structure. The Green space ratio was changed by the floor area ratio with constructing underground parking place and floor area ratio was adjusted by government policy and economic status. Average width of front green area has been changed from 10.0m in high green ratio apartment on natural ground for 3.5m, 2.7m, and 4.5m each period. The average width of the buffer green area has been changed from 15.0m in high green ratio apartment on natural ground of 7.7m, and 2.7m by extending parking place in the low green ratio apartment of artificial ground, so buffer green areas have been reduced and disconnected. So buffer green area in apartment complexes has been extended that the average width of the buffer green area was 3.8m caused by growing recognition of green since 2001. The ratio of native plant in canopy layer was increased from 45.1 % in the case of the high green ratio apartment of natural ground in 1980~1983 to 55.6%. Average plant crown volume increased from $1.27m^3/m^2$ in high green ratio apartment on natural ground for $3.47m^3/m^2$ in a low green ratio apartment on natural ground. But average plant crown volume is $0.27m^3/m^2$ in the high green ratio apartment of the artificial ground plant density of canopy layer was changed from 5 individuals per $100m^2$ to 14.5 individuals per $100m^2$. We should construct the buffer green area with natural ground and get the function of ecological and beautiful environment regarding to garden concept in case of front green area, width 4.5m. We should get the function of increasing green volume by multi-layer planting with shade woody species and flower woody species in case of back-side green area, width over 5.0m. We should get the function of covering the wall and increasing green landscape by planting with high woody species in case of side green area. We should apply the ecological planting technique to buffer green area and connect buffer green area to inner green area in apartment complexes.

Consequential Change of Wind Environment in Building Arrangements (건물배치에 따른 풍환경 변화)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the change of wind environment for different building arrangement. In this study, we analyze outdoor wind environment on different building arrangement that take same floor area ratio using the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) method. We do not consider the effect of temperature. Building arrangements of low density, different hight and a lot of green area will change the effect of wind environment. The eight different arrangements of buildings are studied in this paper. In these calculations, we know the different arrangement of buildings change outdoor wind environments. Especially, reducing the number of building and crossing the different height of buildings have a good kind of wind environment at the same floor ratio. We know that these arrangement of buildings to reduce the heat island phenomena on city plan.

대한건축사협회 회관 신축 현상설계

  • 우리협회 회관의 노후로 인한 업무환경의 개선과 미래지향적이고 건축사들의 위상과 긍지를 높일 수 있는 회관을 확보함으로써 대외적 이미지를 높이는데 기여함은 물론 협회재정의 자립기반을 조성하는데 기여할 건축사들의 회관을 건립하고자 2003년도 제1회 임시총회(03.6.20)에서 현 부지에 회관을 신축키로 의결하였다. 이에 지난 2003년 10월 21일 현 건축사협회 부지에 건폐율 60%, 용적률 300%이내, 연면적 11,000㎡[허용범위±15%] 조건으로 회관건립을 위한 현상설계공모 공고를 냈다. 총 76개사에서 응모신청을 받아 최종 20개사 작품이 응모된 결과 최종심사를 거쳐 당선작 없이 우수작 1점, 가작 1점, 입선작 5점 등 총 7개 작품이 선정됐다.

  • Change of Zoning Regulations in district unit plans calls for improving development benefits through upzoning rather than harmonious worldwide development. The purpose of this study is to examine the floor area ratio incentive system according to un-zoning in district units plan, and to suggest criteria to secure publicness. In order to derive methods to secure district unit plan publicness in Busan Metropolitan City, the ratio of securing public facilities through upzoning was examined. A comparative analysis of land price rate in the entire city versus the use district suggests that it is possible to secure 10 to 15% of public facilities. In this study, 10% of the project site was applied to secure public facilities, and it produced upgraded publicness.

Effect of Retrograde Autologous Priming in Adult Cardiac Surgery for Minimizing Hemodilution and Transfusion Requirements (성인개심술에서 혈액희석 및 수혈을 최소화하기 위한 역행성 자가 혈액 충전법의 효과)

  • Background: Hemodilution after priming of the cardiopulmonary bypass is known to increase the possibility of bleeding and homologous transfusion in adult cardiac surgery. We investigated the effects of retrograde autologous priming (RAP) to see whether it would decrease postoperative bleeding and homologous transfusion. Material and Method: We retrospectively reviewed 34 patients wpho underwent RAP and 46 patients who did not. Retrograde autologous priming consisted of arterial lire drainage, venous reservoir and oxygenator drainage and venous line drainage. We compared the amount of priming solution and RAP volume, perioperative hematocrit, postoperative bleeding and transfusion requirements in the two groups. Resuit: Mean withdrawal volume in RAP group was 613.5$\pm$160.6 mL and initial priming volume was 1381.9$\pm$37.2 mL. Hemoatocrits ($\%$) in RAP and control groups were 25.0$\pm$3.7 vs 20.9$\pm$3.6 (5 minutes after CPB), 25.9$\pm$3.7 vs 22.5$\pm$3.6 (30 minutes after CPB), 25.9$\pm$3.4 vs 23.8$\pm$2.8 (60 minutes after CPB), 31.9$\pm$3.9 vs 31.5$\pm$4.5 (postoperative 1 hour), 32.4$\pm$4.4 vs 32.1$\pm$4.5 (postoperative 6 hours), 33.4$\pm$5.0 vs 31.7$\pm$5.1 (postoperative 1 day)[repeated measures ANOVA, p < 0.05]. Chest tube drainages (mL) in the two groups were 357.2$\pm$177.1 vs 411.7$\pm$279.5 (postoperative 6 hours), 599.4$\pm$145.6 vs 678.8$\pm$256.4 (postoperative 24 hours)[t-test, p < 0.05]. Homologous transfusion was performed in 7 out of 34 patients in RAP group (20.6$\%$), and 16 out of 46 (34.8$\%$) in control group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: This study suggests that the effects of reducing the priming volume during cardiopulmonary bypass may result in lesser bleeding and homologous transfusion. Retrograde autologous priming would be used to reduce postoperative bleeding and chance of transfusion after adult cardiac surgery.

A Geographically Weighted Regression on the Effect of Regulation of Space Use on the Residential Land Price - Evidence from Jangyu New Town - (공간사용 규제가 택지가격에 미치는 영향에 대한 공간가중회귀분석 - 장유 신도시지역을 대상으로-)

  • In this study, we examine how land use zoning affects the land price controlling other variables such as road-facing condition of the land, land form, land age after its development and land size. We employ geographically weighted regression analysis which reflects spatial dependency as methodology with a data sample of land transaction price data of Jangyu, a new town, in Korea. The results of our empirical analysis show that the respective coefficients of traditional regression and geographically weighted regression are not significantly different. However, after calculating Moran's Index with residuals of both OLS and GWR models, we find that Moran's Index of GWR decreases around 26% compared to that of OLS model, thus improving the problem of spatial autoregression of residuals considerably. Unlike our expectation, though, in both traditional regression and geographically weighted regression where residential exclusive area is used as a reference variable, the dummy variable of the residential land for both housing and shops shows a negative sign. This may be because the residential land for both housing and shops is usually located in the level area while the residential exclusive area is located at the foot of a mountain or on a gentle hill where the residents can have good quality air and scenery. Although the utility of the residential land for both housing and shops is higher than its counterpart's since it has higher floor area ratio, amenity which can be explained as high quality of air and scenery in this study seems to have higher impact in purchase of land for housing. On the other hand, land for neighbourhood living facility seems to be valued higher than any other land zonings used in this research since it has much higher floor area ratio than the two land zonings above and can have a building with up to 5 stories constructed on it. With regard to road-facing condition, land buyers seem to prefer land which faces a medium-width road as expected. Land facing a wide-width road may have some disadvantage in that it can be exposed to noise and exhaust gas from cars and that entrance may not be easy due to the high speed traffic of the road. In contrast, land facing a narrow road can be free of noise or fume from cars and have privacy protected while it has some inconvenience in that entrance may be blocked by cars parked in both sides of the narrow road. Finally, land age variable shows a negative sign, which means that the price of land declines over time. This may be because decline of the land price of Jangyu was bigger than that of other regions in Gimhae where Jangyu, a new town, also belong, during the global financial crisis of 2008.

Tranexamic Acid Reduces Postoperative Blood Loss in Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty (역행성 견관절 전치환술에서 트라넥삼산의 출혈 및 수혈 감소 효과)

  • Purpose: Tranexamic acid (TXA) can reduce perioperative blood loss and the frequency of blood transfusions in lower extremity surgery. On the other hand, the effects of TXA on reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) remain undetermined. This study evaluated the efficacy of TXA on perioperative blood loss, transfusion requirements, and the change in the hemotologic index. Materials and Methods: This study evaluated patients who underwent rTSA from September 2009 to July 2020. The patients were classified into two groups. The TXA group were administered TXA intravenously and topical TXA during surgery. The non-TXA group was not administered TXA. The quantity of hemovac drainage, which represented the postoperative blood loss, transfusion requirements, and postoperative change in hemoglobin and hematocrit level, were recorded. Results: The TXA and non-TXA groups consisted of 93 and 84 patients, respectively. The preoperative demographics showed no significant differences in age (72.0±7.0 vs. 71.5±5.8, p=0.656), sex (male:female, 28:65 vs. 23:61, p=0.689) and the prevalence of hypertension and diabetes (hypertension:diabetes:both, 36:3:13 vs. 32:3:8, p=0.806) between the two groups. There were significant differences in the requirements of transfusion (0 vs. 9, p=0.001), hemovac drainage at the 1st (98.8±61.2 ml vs. 162.7±98.8 ml, p<0.001), the 2nd postoperative day (73.8±48.4 ml vs. 91.5±54.5 ml, p=0.024), hemoglobin level at the 1st (11.7±1.2 g/dl vs. 11.2±1.4 g/dl, p=0.048), 3rd (10.9±1.2 g/dl vs. 10.2±1.2 g/dl, p<0.001), and 6th (11.2±1.3 g/dl vs. 10.7±1.3 g/dl, p=0.020) postoperative day, and the hematocrit level at the 1st (35.0%±3.6% vs. 32.5%±3.8%, p=0.001), 3rd (32.3%±5.0% vs. 29.8%±3.6%, p<0.001), and 6th (33.5%±3.8% vs. 31.5%±3.7%, p<0.001) postoperative day between the two groups. Conclusion: Intravenous and topical intra-articular TXA can reduce the transfusion requirement and blood loss in rTSA.

Does a Preoperative Temporary Discontinuation of Antiplatelet Medication before Surgery Increase the Allogenic Transfusion Rate and Blood Loss after Total Knee Arthroplasty? (항 혈소판 제제의 술 전, 일시적 중단은 슬관절 전치환술 이후의 실혈량 및 동종수혈의 필요성을 증가시키지 않는가?)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine if preoperative temporary discontinuation of antiplatelet medication (aspirin, clopidogrel, or cilostazol) is a safe procedure that does not increase early postoperative bleeding and allogenic blood transfusion after a total knee arthroplasty. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted among consecutive patients who underwent navigation assisted primary total knee arthroplasty performed by a single surgeon, from January 2013 to December 2016. A total of 369 patients enrolled in this study were divided into two groups, 271 patients with no history of antiplatelet therapy and 98 patients who underwent 7 days of temporary withdrawal of antiplatelet therapy. Comparative analysis between the two groups, on the variation of hemoglobin and hematocrit during the first and second postoperative days, was conducted to determine the amount of early postoperative bleeding and the frequency of allogenic blood transfusion during hospitalization. Results: The variation of hemoglobin, hematocrit during the first and second postoperative days and the frequency of allogenic blood transfusion between no history of antiplatelet medication and discontinuation antiplatelet medication before 7 days from surgery were similar in both groups. Of the 369 patients, 149 patients received a blood transfusion during their hospitalization. Compared to patients who did not receive a blood transfusion, those who did received blood transfusion were significantly older in age, smaller in height, lighter in weight, and showed significantly lower preoperative hemoglobin and hematocrit values. No statistically significant differences in sex, preoperative American Society of Anesthesiologists scores, and the history of antiplatelet medication until 7 days prior to surgery were observed between the two groups according to blood transfusion. Conclusion: Compared to patients with no history of antiplatelet medication, the temporary discontinuation of antiplatelet medication 7 days prior to surgery in patients undergoing antiplatelet medication did not increase the amount of postoperative bleeding or the need for allogenic blood transfusion.

The experimental study of the thermal conductivity for the soil in South Korea (국내 토양의 열전도도 실험 연구)

  • 16개 기상관측소에서 채취한 토양 시료에 대한 토양 물성 및 열특성를 측정하였으며 이를 통하여 공극률, 함수비, 충적밀도, 입도 분포, 유기물 함량, 토양구성광물의 종류 및 함량이 열전도도에 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. 상관성 분석결과 입도분포, 유기물함량 및 토양 구성광물의 종류 및 함량은 낮은 상관성을 보였으며 용적밀도 $(R^2=0.60)$, 함수비$(R^2=0.54)$와 공극률$(R^2=0.56)$은 높은 상관성을 보였다. 또한 함수비(2%)와 토양의 종류에 따른 다중회귀 분석을 통하여 토양의 열전도도를 추정할 수 있는 회귀식을 제시하였다.
