  • 고체산화물 연료전지(Solid oxide fuel cell : SOFC)는 연료기체가 소유하고 있는 화학에너지를 전기화학반응에 의해 직접 전기에너지로 변화시키는 에너지 변환 장치이다. 고체산화물 연료전지의 특성은 인산형, 용융탄산염형 및 고분자연료전지 둥 다른 연료전지에 비해 효율이 높고 공해가 적으며, 연료개질기가 필요 없고 복합발전이 가능하다. 그러나 작동온도가 고온(100$0^{\circ}C$)이어서 연결재 및 전지의 구성요소가 고가이고 전류집전 및 밀봉 둥 문제점을 가지고 있다. 전극 지지체식 연료전지의 개발은 얇고 치밀한 전해질 제조를 가능하게 하여 낮은 저항을 가지기 때문에 저온에서 작동을 용이하게 하여 고온작동시의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 박막제조공정에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 또한 전지성능을 향상시키기 위해 전기화학적 반응면적과 가스 확산층을 넓게 하기 위한 기공률이 높고 전기전도도가 우수한 지지체 제작에도 많이 연구가 이루어지고 있다.

A Study on Durability of Sprayed Coating Layer in the Molten Zn-0.2% Al Alloy Bath (아연-0.2%알루미늄합금 용융도금액 중에서 용사층의 내구성에 관한 연구)

  • Sink roll has been used in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy bath of continuous galvanizing line in sinking and stabilizing process of the steel strip in molten metal bath. In this process, although the scraper scraps off the sink roll surface, the dross compounds is builded up on the sink roll surface and the life time of the sink roll is shorten by the dross compounds. The present study was investigated the application of the spray coating layer on sink roll body for improving durability In molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy. Through the durability tests in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy with various ceramic and cermet coating layer, the optimum bond and top coating material was obtained. As the results, the system of STS430F base metal, WC-l7Co bond and $ZrO_2-SiO_2$ top coating was clarified to be the best quality of durability in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy.

  • Mechanical properties such as Young's modulus and hardness of thin film in coated steel are difficult to determine by nano-indentation from the conventional analysis using the load-displacement curve. Therefore, an analysis of the nano-indentation loading-unloading curve was used to determine the Young's modulus, hardness. A new method is recently being developed for elastic-plastic properties of materials from nano-indentation. Elastic modulus of the thin films shows relatively small influence whereas yield strength is found to have significant effect on measured data. The load-displacement curves of material tested with a Berkovich indenter and nano-indentation continuous stiffness method is used to measure the modulus and hardness through thin films, and then these are computed using the analysis procedure. The developed neural networks apply also to obtain reliable mechanical properties.

  • Coating of Hot-dip galvannealed steel consists of various Fe-Zn intermetallic compounds. Since the coating is hard and there for is very brittle, the surface of steel sheet is easy to be ruptured during second manufacturing processing. This is called as powdering. In addition, forming equipment might be polluted with debris by powdering. Therefore, various research have been carried out to prohibit powdering fur improving the quality of GA steel. This paper carried out finite element analysis combined with damage model which simulate the failure of local layer of hot-dip galvannealed steel surface during v-bending test. Since the mechanical property of intermetallic compound was unknown exactly, we used the properties calculated from measurements. The specimen was divided into substrate, coating layer and interface layer. Local failure at coating layer or interface layer was simulated when elemental strain reached a prescribed strain.

  • 현재, 표면개질에 주로 많이 사용되는 레이저는 세 종류로서, C $O_{2}$$laser(파장길이:10.6.\mum),$ Nd:YAG(neodymium-doped yettrium aluminum garnet) $laser(파장길이:1.06.\mum)$ 및 excimer laser(157~350nm) 등이다. 이 외에도 초기에는 ruby레이저빔이 사용되기도 하였으나, 현재는 많이 사용되고 있지 않다. 레이저 빔에 의한 표면개질에는 몇가지 장점이 있는데, 이러한 장점은 주로 급속가열과 급속냉각 효과에 기인하는 것이다. 즉, 1) 급냉효과에 의한 미세한 결정입자 형성, 2) 불안정상 (metastable phase) 또는 비정질 상 생성, 3) 열역학적 용해도 보다 높은 용해도. 4) 편석이 없는 균질한 미세조직, 5) 극히 낮은 기공도, 6) 좁은 열영향 부위, 7) 표면층과 모재 사이의 높은 결합력 등이다. 이 외에도 공정상의 장.단점들이 Ref.5, 6에 잘 요약 정리되어 있다. 지금까지 국내에서 레이저 표면개질에 대한 조사가 몇몇 있었으나, 본 조사에서는 보통 많이 다루어지지 않은 부분, 즉 충격경화 및 표면제어에 비중을 두었으며, 비용융 부분(I)과 용융부분(II)을 분리하여 정리하였다.

  • 최근 몇 년 동안 레이저는 품질과 신뢰성의 계속적인 향상으로 인하여 여러 산업 응용분야에서 폭넓게 사용되어 지고 있다. 재료가공에 있어서 레이저의 적용분야는 금속의 절단, 용접 및 드릴링, 세라믹의 스크라이빙, 플라스틱과 복합재료의 절단 및 여러 가지 재료의 마킹, 등을 포함한다. 이러한 가공 메카니즘은 레이저의 조사에 의하여 재료를 용융, 증발시키는 열적 메카니즘이다. 특히 요즘에는 자외선 영역의 조사와 높은 빔의 세기에 의해 다른 종류의 에너지 전달 메카니즘이 가능한 UV 영역의 엑사이머 레이저의 사용이 증가하고 있다.$^{(1)}$ 이러한 엑사이머 레이저가 기존의 다른 레이저에 비해서 갖는 이점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 모든 금속이 엑사이머 레이저에 대해서는 높은 흡수율을 가지므로 레이저 에너지가 가공 에너지로 효율적으로 변환되기 때문에 얇은 표면층에서 완전히 흡수하게 된다.   • This paper is designed to estimate friction and powdering characteristic of coating layer on galvannealed sheet steel with different annealing temperature, which is 465, 505, 515 and $540^{\circ}C$. Estimations of powdering and friction were done using a $60^{\circ}$ bending test and one side friction test, respectively. In order to obviously understand the effect of coatings on friction cross-section of coatings before and after friction test was also observed by SEM. The results show that powdering of coatings is increased with increasing of annealing temperature and that friction characteristic greatly depends on powdering which leads to increase of real contact area between tools and coatings.

  • A novel electrostatic spraying method to solidify molten zinc coating layer was studied by SEM and measurement of sample's temperature. The sprayed droplets also served as nucleation sites in the solidification reaction of molten zinc but might leave the pitting mark by impinging on its surface especially at high spray pressure. Our experimental results showed that electric field could change the sprayed particle trajectories and assist the fine droplets to attach on the surface. Thus, by reducing the spray pressure and by applying the electric voltage higher than -20 KV to charge the droplets electrostatically, we could produce the spangle free galvanized coating layer without pitting.

A Study on Detecting Dross in Coating Layer on Hot-dip Galvanizing Steels (용융아연 도금강판의 도금층에 잔류한 드로스 검출에 관한 연구)

  • To develop a method of detecting dross in coating layer on hot-dip galvanizing steel, chemical etching behavior of the artificial coating layers with top and bottom dross were investigated. After chemical etching with the mixture of picric acid and sodium thiosulfate, each of the top and bottom dross take its distinct color, and alloy layer in coating is also observed. Defects in the coating layers of HGI(hot rolled galvanized iron), CGI(continuous galvanized steel sheet) and GA(galvannealed steel) were analysed, and methods of dross detection which can be applied to inspection process in manufacture were suggested.

Effects of Spangle Size on the Mechanical Properties of Galvanized Steel Sheets (용융아연도금강판 코팅층 접합강도에 미치는 스팽글 크기의 영향)

  • Effects of spangle size and crystallographic characteristics on the surface appearance, galling properties, and adhesive strength of hot-dip galvanized steel sheets have been investigated. Both spangle size and crystallographic orientation measured by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction were identified as critical factors influencing the galvanized coating performance. By decreasing the spangle size, surface appearance and galling properties related to the friction coefficient were significantly improved. However, low temperature adhesive-strength with small spangle galvanized steel sheets showed lower values compared to commercially used galvanized coating. The variation of adhesive strength in terms of spangle size has been clarified.
