Satisfying Desires Using Auto-Combat in Mobile RPG (모바일 RPG 자동전투 기능을 통한 욕망 충족 양상 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how auto-combat function in mobile RPG satisfies player's desires. The auto-combat is classified into two types-complete and partial- by timing of activation and degree of control. With elicited aspects of play, players' desires are examined based on Lacan's Desire Theory. A player employing partial auto-combat desires to master higher stages with perfect or flawless control, and one's 'object petit a' is to be the difficulty of the stages. On the other hand, a player applying the complete auto-combat demands to fully comprehend the rules of the game and to attain the rewards of completed stage to build more competent characters. Once a player acquires the desirable object, one recognizes the illusion of one's achievement and seeks for new objects. In this succession, auto-combat function is utilized as an active action of willingness for fulfilling one's desire.

  • 의사소통은 인간의 기본 욕구 중 하나다. 우리 선조들이 생활주변에서 얻어지는 갖가지 재료를 가지고 의사전달의 표현도구로 삼았던 것은 바로 이러한 근원적인 욕망을 충족시키고자 하는 데서 비롯되었다. 인류가 발전함에 따라 감정과 생각을 좀 더 쉽고 정확하게 전달하고자 하는, 한 단계 더 심화된 욕구가 발동되었고 그에 따라 표현방법도 다양하게 모색되었다. 더 나아가 표출된 의사소통 내용을 기록해 두어 오래 보존하고자 하는 욕망도 생겨났는데, 앞으로 우리가 함께 더듬어 볼 한국인쇄술의 발명 역사도 결국은 이러한 맥락과 상통되고 있는 셈이다.

A study on the perspective of the human nature of Xiang-xiu (향수(向秀)의 인성(人性)에 대한 이해)

  • Xiang-xiu(向秀) tried to find compromise between naturalness(自然) and Confucian ethical code(名敎), the individual consciousness and the group consciousness in the Wei-Jin(魏晋) dynasty. He made his views on the human nature through the revealing of desire and morality of human. Xinag-xiu considered that the human nature comes from the ultimate principle of the nature(自然之理), so it's possible to provide reasonable basis to the meaning of the 'desire' and 'morality'. Furthermore, the 'desire' is regarded as the driving force of human life through the reasonable cognition, at the same time he insisted that we should control our passions by sociality and the social norm. So in the view of Xiang-xiu, the human nature has two characteristics, such as the principal of the driving force of human life and the control of the base desires and the negative desires. It could be confirmed by his opinions about the following human's nature and sticking to our last in the his Zhuangzizhu( 莊子注). Through the perspective of the human nature, Xiang-xiu emphasized the unification of the unaffected human nature and morality(sociality), the desire and the social norm.

The Achievements and Limitations of Petit Bourgeois Desires in "Oksosun Story" (<옥소선 이야기> 속 소시민적 욕망의 성취와 한계)

  • This study aims to identify petit bourgeois desires through the characters in "Oksosun Stories" from Cheonyerok, an eighteenth-century Yadam anthology. The desires and motivations of the characters are quite secular and egocentric. Because of this, their shared characteristics are similar to those of the petit bourgeois, as neutral existence begins to emerge during the transition from feudal to modern society. The concept of petit bourgeois generally means the public and the working class of modern society. The main character's behavior in the story differs little from general petit bourgeois attitudes. An important belief in petit bourgeois is not the ruling ideology in society but the achievement and stability of realistic and ordinary desires to fulfill their lives' satisfaction. Also selfish or antisocial attitudes and boundary characteristics appear in the process, depending on whether subject having any desire. However, the character's actions are limited in the governance system of a huge reality. And It is characterized by end goal being to meet their upward mobility and stability. This corresponds with Seang's (書生) actions of turning his back on his family and country as well as promising Jaran his love; and, he redeems himself with his family and society by acquiring stability after he passed the state examination. Furthermore, the contemporary significance of this work demonstrates Seang (書生) discovering his desires for human love; therefore, in order to affirm and gratify this desire, he endures the societal state of semi-feudalism against filial duty (不孝), disloyalty (不忠), and non-chastity (不烈), and he acts independently. In addition, on the strength of his pursuit of his desires, Oksosun frees herself from the caste restraint called gisaeng (妓生) and affirms her desire to become a subject of love, but she then deviates from the social system. Moreover, the limitations and achievements of the petit bourgeois are indicated in the actions of recognizing the social threshold of their past in the process, making independent efforts using their capabilities, fulfilling success in the state examination with their intellectual capacity, and re-entering society. From the late Chosun Dynasty to modern times, there is not only the type of contemporary people who hunger for fulfillment of their personal desire and live in free will, but there is also the feudal type that is still lacking in the understanding of independent life. This is not as different as in these present times. This literature asserts the meaning of awakening one's self-existence and assigning great value to the fulfillment of self-desires against the odds that are created by socio-political, cultural, economic norms of the era. "Oksosun Story" affirms the small efforts and successes of private individuals in reality. It also validates the search for life happiness through positivity. In this sense, even the contemporary reader would derive valid meaningfulness from this literature.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the empirical effect of participating motives for lifelong education on the releasing of controlled inferiority, the gratification of retained desire, and voluntary resocialization. The motives for lifelong education were divided into an external viewpoint focusing on consumers' behaviors and an internal viewpoint based on activity of the ego. External motives were divided into pragmatic, entertaining, and relational motives, while internal motives were divided into self-realization, self-existence, and self-participation motives. The results show that the pragmatic motive and the self-realization motive, the entertaining motive and the self-existence motive, and the relational motive and the self-participation motive are highly related to each other. It was found that the pragmatic motive and the self-realization motive affected the lifelong education participants' release of controlled inferiority relatively stronger, the entertaining motive and the self-existence motive affected participants' gratification of retained desire relatively stronger, the relational motive and the self-participation motive affected participants' voluntary resocialization relatively stronger.

  • This research tried to project hidden and overall side of market economy system of capitalism through desire and fetishism of consumer society. The objective of this research lies in examining desire code of capitalism society through hidden side of consumer society and the reason why modern people are crazy about products, the meaning of product re-creation in tempting modern consumer society, life where all desire is satisfied by products. As a result, we intended to demonstrate that post-industrial society is the one triggered by desire and that society desired in post-industrial society is the very cultural, social study realized to enable modern people to survive in modern society through Martin Parr's pictures.

  • 미래를 알고자하는 인간의 욕망은 항상 존재하고 있다. 이러한 욕망을 예전에는 예언가들이 충족시켰으나 지금에는 과학자들에 의하여 많이 행하여지고 있다. 특히 미래의 경제적 현상에 대한 정확한 지식에 관한 욕망은 보다 크다. 사회현상의 예측 가능성에 대한 의견은 일치하고 있지 않다. 예를 들면 유명한 경제학자인 Hayek (1974)는 사회현상은 자연현상과는 달라 그 복잡성 때문에 예측이 불가능하다고 주장한다. 물론 사회적 경제적 현상의 예측은 여러점으로 보아 어려운 것은 사실이나 불가능하다고 볼수는 없으며, 어려우나 예측이 필요하므로 가능한한 정확한 예측을 하도록 노력해야 한다. 본 논고를 통하여 경제현상의 예측방법 특히 장기예측 방법과 그 문제점들을 간단히 다루려 한다. 장기예측은 가장 쉽고도 가장 어려운 예측이다. 10년내지 20년후의 현상에 관한 예측은 그 진위성이 쉽게 판단이 될 수 없으므로 누구나 할 수 있는 예측이다. 반면에 10년후의 현상에 관하여 예측을 한다는 것은 다른 예측보다도 어려운 것이 사실이다.

Haewon Sangsaeng and the Theory of Desire in Psychoanalysis: a Comparison Focused on Mourning (해원상생과 정신분석의 욕망이론 - 애도를 중심으로 -)

  • This paper is an attempt to find commonality and complementarity between psychanalysis and Daesoon thought, while understanding the practical meaning of the Haewon-Sangsaeng, which is one of the religious doctrines of Daesoon Jinrihoe, in terms of the theory of desire posited by psychoanalysis. There is a common point between Daesoon thought and psychoanalytic theory since both ideas give importance to desire. The Haewon idea is similar to that of psychoanalytic theory, which emphasizes restoring desire through mourning and realizing it within a structure of inter-subjectivity. Of course, the meaning of desire in Daesoon thought, given its status as a religious doctrine, is polysemous, and the orientation of this type of desire is also different from that of psychoanalysis given psychoanalysis's role as a therapeutic discourse. However, Daesoon thought explains that the pain and unhappiness suffered by human beings occurs because of mutual overcoming which is a relational style wherein desire can not be solved properly for either party involved in an interaction. Mutual overcoming is a state of mutual beneficience beyond the previous state of mutual overcoming. Likewise, psychoanalysis seems to accept the loss of the object through mourning, and in this way, desire is reactivated. Daesoon thought emphasizes the importance of social and cosmic systems like mutual beneficience and the reordering of the Universe and these systems have a commonality with psychoanalysis as psychoanalysis sees desire positively within the structure of inter-subjectivity. The direction of social practice in Daesoon thought and psychoanalysis both aim at the realization of a new universality. The inter-subjectivity structure suggests desire of recognition and recognition of desire as a way of practice because desire is not personal but rather social. In conclusion, we should not stop at resolving our own individual desires, but should instead go forward in solidarity toward the achieving the common good.

  • 인간의 욕구는 무한하다고 한다. 이 무한한 욕구를 충족시켜 주기 위하여 많은 연구가 행하여져 왔으며, 오늘날과 같은 과학의 발달을 가져오게 되었다. 그 중에서도 눈에 보이지 않는 조그마한 물체를 보고 싶어하는 욕망을 충족시키기 위한 연구를 거듭한 결과 렌즈를 통한 빛의 굴절 작용을 이용하여 미세한 물체를 확대하여 보는 광학현미경(Light Microscope 또는 Optical Microscope)이 개발되었다. 그러나 과학의 발달로 인한 여러가지 현상의 다양활를 관찰하기에는 광학현미경의 기능만으로는 한계점에 도달하게 되었다. 이 기능을 향상시키기 위하여 광원을 빛 대신 파장이 매우 짧은 전자선을 이용한 전자현미경이 개발되었다.

  • In Jane Campion's Stewart, Ada's husband, as like modern people, manifests the infinite lust of conquest. But Banes has a humanistic relation with the New Zealand's tribe and doesn't have a deep attachment of his own land. Stewart represents the ruling reason in that he disregards his wife's desire and acts only for his desire to possess and conquest. In contrast with him, in order to satisfy her desire of the piano and hold her own inner world in common, Banes proposes the extraordinary deal, that is to say, to exchange her piano and his land and to learn playing the piano from her. Like this Banes represents the caring reason in that he regards Ada's desire and cares her in according to her purpose and himself.
