This study intends to make a comprehensive inquiry about the theoretical foundations of cataloging outsourcing. To the end, this study examined (1) backgrounds of cataloging outsourcing, 2) the pros and cons of cataloging outsourcing, (3) theoretical justification suggested by guardians of cataloging outsourcing, and (4) methodological limitations found in literatures on the subject. On the basis of it, finally suggested are methodologies for evaluating 'effectiveness' of cataloging outsourcing.

The relationship between the subcontractor and the subcontractor in current industries, especially in the machine manufacturing industry, should be developed to the "Efficient Q-C-D System" in which the three elements of consideration-Quality, Cost and Delivery condition, are in a state of equillibrium. From this point of view the two parts of a subcontract must cooperate in the whole activity: ranging from the initial products planning, through the manufacturing process, to the final usage by customers. In this report, we tried to present Korean machine manufacturing industry with the model of management system of subcontracts in order that machine manufacturers may assure the quality, reduce the production cost and enhance the productivity with the model.

우리나라의 최대 철강회사인 포스코는 2005년부터 품질개선을 위해서 포스코 자체의 혁신방법론인 QSS+(Quick Six Sigma)을 개발하여 실시하고 있다. QSS+는 회사 전체 직원이 개선 실천 학습을 하고, 지속적인 낭비제거를 통해 부가가치를 창출하는 활동으로 '일상개선 활동, 과제 활동, 솔선/격려활동, 인재양성' 4개의 축으로 운영되고 있다. 또한 QSS+는 오랜 시간에 걸쳐 정착되어 정부 기관, 기업, 그룹사, 외주파트너사, 공급사 및 다양한 분야에서 우수 혁신 활동 사례로 벤치마킹을 실시하고 있다. 매년 현장에서 활동하는 포스코 QSS+ 현 수준을 정확히 판단하고 향후 방향성을 제시하는 QSS+ 충실도 평가 기준을 개선하기 위하여 AHP 분석 방법을 통해 평가 항목을 분석하고 현장이 반영된 'QSS+ 평가 기준'을 제시하고자 한다.

This study was designed to propose library privacy guidelines to be applicable in any library without distinguishing library types. Individual libraries can refine, modify, and use them to fit their situation, using the guidelines as a base. The library privacy protection guidelines developed in this study are composed of purposes, definitions, scope of privacy, law and policy, general information, the library's job performance on the handling of personal information, and library subcontractors. The development objectives and utilization direction of the library privacy guidelines developed in this study are meant to provide a guide for change according to the amended provision of library "Privacy Act" implementation, optimization of library Privacy Directive, a reflection of the relevant laws and regulations, and the standardization-oriented library privacy guidelines.

Over the past decade, the topic of work breakdown structure (WBS) has gained an increasing amount of attention from information technology professionals as an effective tool for managing the complexity of a large-scale information system development project. It is a method for planning and controlling a large-scale information system development. A WBS provides the basis for project organization, cost estimation, task scheduling, and contract management. Based on the authors' practical experience, this paper discusses how to establish a specific WBS and some considerations for developing a well-defined WBS. The model of WBS suggested in this study will provide useful insight and guidelines for establishing the spec-ific WBS for a large-scale information systems development.

This study was intended to investigate the quality control in technical services outsourcing in academic libraries. For this purpose, investigated related papers and the experience of outsourced technical services in three academic libraries. Data from senior librarians charged with revision of catalogs are gathered. Issues of catalogs production and quality control are explored and statistics of outsourcing is analysed. Quality control is a major factor of the success of technical services outsourcing operation. The some suggestions in order to enhance quality of vendor-supplied cataloging are presented.

Development of a curvic-coupling was presented in this paper. The research covers design, structural analysis, hot-temperature-torsion-test, curvic-coupling applied proto-type turbine disk manufacturing, and assembly test of a curvic-coupling rotor system for the turbopump application. Curvic-coupling was designed based on the Gleason-standard-tooth shape. The load capability of the designed curvic coupling was validated by the structural analysis and hot-temperature-torsion-test. A proto-type turbine disk which had adopted designed curvic-coupling was manufactured, assembled and tested to reveal that shaft-disk assembly run-outs in axial and radial directions were much smaller than the design requirements. The development will be finalized after spin test of shaft-disk assembly in near future.

The distributor for hydraulic pumps or motors, particularly radial piston motors, include rotary member which has equally both surface shape for dynamic balance and two fixed members, located in both side of rotary member, which have equal surface shape for dynamic balance and circular ring which use to retain predetermined clearance between two fixed members. Rotary member must have valve part for flow-distribution and can have hydrostatic bearing for excellently dynamic balance. At least two annular steps located on said pressure plate which use in compensation of bolt expansion.

A patient table considering x-ray transparency, mechanical safety and compact multi-axis moving mechanism has been developed. The goal of medical imaging technology is to keep radiation exposure of patients during x-raying to a minimum. In order to obtain clear pictures at low dose, however, the x-ray table which supports the patient must be sufficiently permeable to radiation to allow good image resolution. The table top is made of low density foam for x-ray transparent effective area and structural aluminum plate to connect moving mechanism under the table, covered with thin carbon fiber. This sandwich construction is very rigid and lightweight, so the table top can handle relatively heavy load comparing to its cantilevered structure which is unavoidable as long as cooperate with C-arm radiography. To verify the design results finite element static analysis and experimental tests have been done. According to the verification the results well satisfy certification guide lines as a medical device.
