The Utilizing patterns of the library were grasped by the citation analysis of the foreign academic journals. From 2002 to 2003, the professors of J University in J city referred to 4,749 foreign journals in their 258 articles published in the domestic journals. Among them, 1,030 pieces on engineering. 741 on natural science, 2,286 on social sciences, 636 on human sciences and 56 on arts and sports were analyzed. The Result of the analysis showed that more journals were cited than the monographs in the fields of engineering, natural science and social science. In addition. $68.2\%$ of the citations were out of the journals listed in SCI. The Journals within 6-10 years in their publication were the most preferably cited.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the foreign journals in the field of library and information science subscribed in Korean libraries. The journals were selected from the union catalogs and were analyzed by using the Excel program. The results shows that 1)issues of a particular journal are irregularly scattered in many libraries sometimes lacking many issues 2)some journals are duplicated in many libraries 3)there are great differences in the number of journal subscriptions depending on the geographical differences. It is expected that these results could be well used for the cooperative library services in the future.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the data of $\ulcorner$Union Catalog of Foreign Journals$\lrcorner$ Database, which has been revised and updated in 1995. The database includes 13,449 titles of foreign journals in scienc and technology which is a collection of 253 libraries in Korea. The items of analysis are nation, language, frequency, subject of each title, and also collection overlap, etc.

Medical libraries in Korea consume most of their budget and efforts of staffs for acquisition and administration of foreign medical journals. Annualy the rise in prices of the journals oppress the library budget. Because of these reasons, this paper studied and analyzed the possibility of cooperative acquisition of foreign medical journals between the medical libraries in Korea and several basic informations for cooperative acquisition by citation analysis method. The 5 source medical school journals were selected from our country's medical school journals: Seoul, Yonsei, Catholic, Chonnam, Kyungbook.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the present status of foreign academic journal collection in Korea and to explore the problem. In order to survey the current situation, the data from "Union Catalogue of Foreign Journals:Science & Technology, 1992" database constructed by Korea Institute of Industry and Technology Information has been analyzed. Major problems are poor collections, collection overlap, and lack of resource sharing.

In the smart media environment, magazine industry has been experiencing a transition to ecosystem of value network, which includes high complexity and ambiguity. Using case study method, this article conducts research on digital convergence, the model of magazine ecosystem and adaptation strategy of global magazine companies. Research findings have it that the way of contents production of global magazines has been based on collaborative production system within communities, expert communities, creative users, media contents companies and magazine platform. The system shows different patterns and characteristics depending on magazine-driven platform, Platform-driven platform or user-driven platform. Collaboration system has been confirmed in various cases: Huffington Post and Zinio which collaborate with media contents companies, Amazon magazines and Bookish with magazine companies, Huffington Post and Wired with expert communities, and Flipboard with creative users and communities. Foreign magazine contents diverge into (paper, electronic, app and web magazine) as they start the lively trades of their contents on the magazine platform. In the area of contents uses, readers employ smart media technology effectively such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence and module individualization, making it possible for the virtuous cycle to remain in the relationship within communities, expert communities and creative users.

This paper is a study on the current statues of the shared acquisition system of occidental journals in 6 university libraries belonging to Pusan-Kyungnam Area University Information Cooperation Council. The study discusses theoretical background of a shared acquisition in general and historical development and analyzes the current status of the system. Also the study examines the usefulness. effectiveness and problems of the system.

The Journals of medical libraries an the primary resources of medical library collections, and the majority of them are foreign journals. Recently, medical libraries have some difficulties in purchasing materials due to the rapidly increasing journal Vices and the curtailment in the budget. A proposal for the establishment of an information center for controlling Korean medical bibliographies was suggested. This system will be expected to contribute to the users for acquiring materials more effectively.

해방후 진주한 미군에 의하여 신살충제로 등장한 것이 DDT였으며 그후 널리 물것 방지에 쓰이고 있는 터이나 그 사용방법에 있어 분명치 못한 점도 적지아니 할뿐 아니라 장차농업 방면충해에 대한 살충제로서의 가치가 매우 주목되는 바이므로 외국잡지에 기재된 것을 택하여 간단히 소개하고자 한다.
