  • 최근 기계번역 분야는 괄목할만한 발전을 보였으나, 번역 결과의 오류가 불완전한 의미의 왜곡으로 이어지면서 사용자로 하여금 불편한 반응을 야기하거나 사회적 파장을 초래하는 경우가 존재한다. 특히나 오역에 의해 변질된 의미로 인한 경제적 손실 및 위법 가능성, 안전에 대한 잘못된 정보 제공의 위험, 종교나 인종 또는 성차별적 발언에 의한 파장은 실생활과 문제가 직결된다. 이러한 문제를 완화하기 위해, 기계번역 품질 예측 분야에서는 치명적 오류 감지(Critical Error Detection, CED)에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 한국어에 관련해서는 연구가 존재하지 않으며, 관련 데이터셋 또한 공개된 바가 없다. AI 기술 수준이 높아지면서 다양한 사회, 윤리적 요소들을 고려하는 것은 필수이며, 한국어에서도 왜곡된 번역의 무분별한 증식을 낮출 수 있도록 CED 기술이 반드시 도입되어야 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 영어-한국어 기계번역 분야에서의 치명적 오류를 감지하는 KoCED(English-Korean Critical Error Detection) 데이터셋을 구축 및 공개하고자 한다. 또한 구축한 KoCED 데이터셋에 대한 면밀한 통계 분석 및 다국어 언어모델을 활용한 데이터셋의 타당성 실험을 수행함으로써 제안하는 데이터셋의 효용성을 면밀하게 검증한다.

  • 한국어 조사는 다른 외국어에는 대응하는 어휘가 없는 경우가 대부분이기 때문에 외국인이 한국어를 배울때 조사를 가장 어려워한다. 특히, 한국어에서 조사는 문법적 특징을 결정하는 매우 중요한 형태소이며 문장의 뜻을 매우 다르게 바꿀 수 있으므로 올바른 사용이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 외국민이 입력한 불완전한 한국어 문장에서 조사를 올바르게 교정하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 주어진 문장에 대해 한국어 형태소 분석기와 품사 태거를 이용하여 체언과 용언을 추출하고 이를 세종 용언 사전과 체언 사전의 문형 정보를 이용하여 올바른 조사를 부착하고 교정해 준다.

  • 이 연구에서는 재난문자에서의 외국어 제공 현황에 대해 알아보았다. 우선, 뉴스를 분석한 결과, 외국인들은 국내 재난문자의 문제점으로 한국어라는 언어 제공 한정을 꼽았다. 다음으로, 미국은 WEA 규정에 따라 영어 외에 스페인어로 된 경고 메시지를 지원해야 하는 것으로 나타났다. WEA에서의 다국어 제공을 위한 다양한 노력도 하고 있었다. 마지막으로, 일본은 이동통신사 차원에서 다국어 재난문자를 지원하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. NTT DOCOMO는 외국인을 위해 일본어 재난문자를 영어, 중국어, 한국어로 번역해 주는 기능을 제공하고 있었다. KDDI도 NTT DOCOMO가 제공하는 언어 외에 포르투칼어, 스페인어도 제공하고 있었다.

  • This study aims to establish a speech corpus for Korean as a foreign language (L2 Korean Speech Corpus, L2KSC) and to examine the aspects of the foreign learners acquisition of the phonetic and phonological systems in the Korean Language. In the first year of this project, L2KSC will be established through the process of reading list organizing, recording, and slicing, and the second year includes an in-depth study of the aspects of foreign learners Korean acquisition and a contrastive analysis of phonetic and phonological systems. The expectation is that this project will provide significant bases for a variety of fields such as Korean education, academic research, and technological development of phonetic information.

  • The purpose of this study to examine the status of Korean language education, and to examine the future direction between with korean and China. The Korean language course organized by the European Union Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which selects and conducts consignment companies through annual competition every year since 2002, In order to these goals and needs, it is imperative to develop a curriculum that enhances job skills. As Korean language education, a point that is necessary to clarify terms more clearly, which 'vocational education purpose' is widely used in the term of 'business education'. With all languages education, Korean language education is not meant to teach Korean to foreigners, but it is a process by which learners can apply Korean language learned in classroom to various situations, while outside the classroom through teaching and learning. Otherwise, the curriculum in the four-year college Korean language department in China, which is lacking in acquiring the ability to achieve the Korean language education goals and social needs. Korean language education in China is one of foreign language education and it is different from foreign language education such as English education as Minor Languages education.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a method of Korean speaking activity utilizing mobile learning. It can compensate for the shortcomings of Korean speaking classes. Currently, speaking classes in the Korean as a foreign language site are difficult to interact individually and immediately because there are one professor and several learners. So it is hard for learners to improve their speaking ability in the actual class. However, it is helpful for learners to receive instant and individual feedback and check their pronunciation, intonation and speed. by using mobile learning. Therefore, This study consists of main-activity that can correct their pronunciation, post-activity that can make free dialogues through communication between learner and learner. So learners can improve their pronunciation accuracy and fluency as well as composition of conversation. This activity was applied to the actual class and after that, the satisfaction and opinions of learners were investigated. The results showed that many learners responded positively, but also suggested that they need to supplement mobile-learning activities in classrooms and future APP developments.

An analysis on teachers' perception on the education curriculum for prospective Korean language teachers (예비교사 교육과정에 대한 한국어교사의 인식)

  • Since the enactment of the "Framework Act on the Korean Language (herein after "Act ), researchers have focused their studies on measuring whether the Act played a huge role in providing Korean education. This can be confirmed by many, that the Act has indeed played a huge part in providing Korean language education. However, little attention was given to the validity of the education curriculum for prospective Korean language teachers as provided by the Act. Therefore, this survey has been conducted to provide an insight to teachers' perception of the Korean language curriculum for prospective teachers and will test whether such perception meets the standards in which the Act has been enacted. In this survey, we have received response on the importance of each domain and subject in the areas of Korean language education as viewed by the Korean language teachers. The results revealed the importance in the following order: Teaching Practice, Korean Linguistics, Korean Educational Linguistics, General Linguistics, and Korean Culture. These results strongly suggest that there is a need for the current curriculum, laid out by the Act, to be reconsidered to stress different levels of importance and time assignment for each category. The survey analysis shows the disparity in importance within the curriculum between the Act and the views in which the Korean language teachers perceive Korean language education. While further research is needed to confirm the analysis of this survey, this area of research will be instrumental in determining the suggestive shapes of the curriculum governed by the Act in the years to come.

Korean prosodic properties between read and spontaneous speech (한국어 낭독과 자유 발화의 운율적 특성)

  • This study aims to clarify the prosodic differences in speech types by examining the Korean read speech and spontaneous speech in the Korean part of the L2 Korean Speech Corpus (speech corpus for Korean as a foreign language). To this end, the articulation length, articulation speed, pause length and frequency, and the average fundamental frequency values of sentences were set as variables and analyzed via statistical methodologies (t-test, correlation analysis, and regression analysis). The results found that read speech and spontaneous speech were structurally different in the form of prosodic phrases constituting each sentence and that the prosodic elements differentiating each speech type were articulation length, pause length, and pause frequency. The statistical results show that the correlation between articulation speed and articulation length was highest in read speech, explaining that the longer a given sentence is, the faster the speaker speaks. In spontaneous speech, however, the relationship between the articulation length and the pause frequency in a sentence was high. Overall, spontaneous speech produces more pauses because short intonation phrases are continuously built to make a sentence, and as a result, the sentence gets lengthened.

A Development of Korean Sentence Processor using Surface Analysis (문장 표면 분석에 의한 한국어 문장 처리기 개발)

  • 현대 한국어 문장에는 (1) 여러 가지 부사절이 포함된 경우, (2) 길이가 긴 경우, (3) 여러 가지 기호를 포함한 경우, (4) 수와 단위 표현이 있는 경우, (5) 영어 등 외국어가 포함된 경우, (6) 혹은 (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)를 모두 포함한 경우가 많다. 따라서 현대 한국어 문장을 구문 처리하기 위해서는 전처리(preprocessing) 과정이 필수적이라고 생각한다. 전처리 과정에서는 문장 표면 분석을 수행하고 문장 분할도 수행하여 입력 문장을 구문 처리가 가능한 형태로 바꾸어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 현대 한국어 문장을 구문 처리하기 위한 표면 분석 방법과 분할 방법을 논의한다. 또한 한국어 구문을 나타내는 분할 구조 문법의 예도 제시한다.
