Color Appearances and Morphological Characteristics of Rice According to the Visual Acceptance (외관 기호도에 의한 쌀의 색택 및 형태관련 특성)

  • This study was carried out to select the acceptance test influenced by some quality characteristics of rice, and may provide the basic information on rice grade of appearance quality as distinguished the numerical values. Forty-four Japonica rice varieties mainly cultivated in Korea were evaluated for a consumer acceptance test. Color preferences of rice were highly correlated with appearance quality (r=-0.897**) and redness (r=-0.893**). Especially, appearance quality value resulted from interaction of $redness{\times}yellowness$ values was expected as a specific character used for grade of rice appearance. Shape preferences of rice showed the positive correlation with grain width (r=0.527**) and grain size (r=0.454**). Result of the consumer acceptance test of rice appearance conducted through a cluster analysis revealed five groups. Our study suggests that it may be feasible to be graded by average of quality character among groups, grain width, and grain size in Duncan's multiple range test.

  • In this work, soft sensor based on image anlaysis is proposed for quantitatively estimating the visual appearance of manufactured products and is applied to quality monitoring. The methodology consists of three steps; (1) textural feature extraction from product images using wavelet transform, (2) numerical estimation of the product appearance through projection of the textural features on subspace, and (3) use of latent variables of textural features (i.e., numerical estimates of product appearance). The focus of this approach is on the consistent and quantitative estimation of continuous variations in visual appearance rather than on classification into discrete classes. This approach is illustrated through the application to the estimation and monitoring of the appearance of engineered stone countertops.

Influence of Physical Property of Soft Film and Packaging Method on the Storage Stability of Individually Packaged Fresh Ginseng (연포장재 필름의 물성 및 포장방법이 개별포장한 수삼의 저장성에 미치는 영향)

  • The storage stability of fresh ginseng packaged individually in a soft film bag was more enhanced as the soft film with lower oxygen permeability was used, while the optimum water vapor permeability for enhancing the storage stability of fresh ginseng was estimated 3.5 g/m$^2$$.$day$.$90% RH when using the soft film with low oxygen permeability of 3.6∼5.4 cc/m$^2$$.$day$.$atm. The storage stability of the individually packaged fresh ginseng was also enhanced when the soft film bag was filled with carbon dioxide-oxygen-nitrogen (25:5:70) miked gas but the vacuum packaging exhibited little effect for the enhancement of storage stability of the fresh ginseng.

Quality Change and Weight Loss of Fresh Ginseng Individually Packaged in a Soft Film According to its Storage Condition (연포장재 필름으로 개별포장한 수삼의 저장조건에 따른 외관품질 변화 및 개체무게 감소)

  • Fresh ginseng was washed with water and packaged individually in a soft film bag (ONY/LDPE/L-LDPE;200${\times}$300mm, 90$\mu\textrm{m}$), then stored at 25$^{\circ}C$, 10$^{\circ}C$, or 4$^{\circ}C$ to investigate quality and weight changes of the packaged fresh ginseng according to its storage time. Softening was the major phenomenon which influenced on the quality of the packaged fresh ginseng while spoilage and color-change were relatively minor phenomena. There were very good correlations not only between the quality change rate constant and the storage temperature but between the weight change rate constant and the storage temperature. This result suggests that the shelf-life and the weight loss of the packaged fresh ginseng being store at low temperature can be estimated by an accelaerated sotrage test.

  • TFT-LCD(Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display)는 표시장치로서 실용화된 후 많은 상품에 적용중이다. 그러나, LCD는 자체 발광능력이 없으므로 그후면에서 LCD 화면을 밝혀주는 BLU(Backlight Unit)를 필요로 한다. BLU는 내부 광원으로 밝기가 균일한 평면광을 만들어 LCD 화면을 균일하게 면조사하는 역할을 한다. LCD가 적용되는 분야중 Note PC에는 광원으로 CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp)가 적용되어 왔지만, 최근 고휘도, 박형화, 저소비 전력을 달성하기 위해 CCFL로는 한계가 있어 LED(Light Emitting Diode)를 적용한 BLU를 제작하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 점광원인 LED 적용한 LED에 있어서 요구되는 휘도 균일성을 향상시키기 위해서는 LED광원이 적용된 BLU의 외관 품질 향상을 위한 도광판 입광부 구조 최적화를 광추적 Simulation을 통해 예측하고 향상시킬 수 있는 구조를 제안한다. Simulation결과, 외관품질 개선을 위해 도광판 입광면에 130도의 Serration과 휘도를 향상하기 위해 도광판 밑면에 렌즈 형상의 바 구조를 도출해 적용한 결과 외관품질향상과 휘도향상을 얻었다.

  • The fresh ginseng was packed individually with a soft film bag, ONY/LDPE/L-LDPE (20$\times$30 cm, 93 ${\mu}m$) and stored at $25^{\circ}C$ for twenty days. The Quality-related appearance parameters and the sensory characteristics of the fresh ginseng were evaluated. The quality of the fresh ginseng was lowered mainly due to hardness decrease with increasing storage time, while the occurrence of mould was rarely observed. The normal ginseng had strong fresh ginseng odor and strong bitter taste and its hardness was well maintained during twenty days. The softened ginseng had pungent and sour odor, sweet and sour taste and sticky texture.

  • 본 연구는 사출성형공정상에서 발생하고 있는 사출성형물의 Weld line에 의한 외관 불량을 해석하고 개선된 품질을 얻기 위한 시도이다. 사출성형 관련 설계는 사출금형설계 전문가의 축적된 지식과 경험을 활용하여 수행되어 왔으며, 설계에 필요한 설계자의 경험이 전무한 경우 많은 시행 오차를 유발하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 Window Panel의 사출성형을 수행함에 있어 생산 중 발생되고 있는 Weld line에 의한 제품 외관의 문제를 수치해석을 통하여 시뮬레이션함으로써 제품 품질을 향상 하고자 해석을 시도하였다.

  • An image analysis-based soft sensor is designed and applied to automatic quality classification of product appearance with color-textural characteristics. In this work, multiresolutional multivariate image analysis (MR-MIA) is used in order to analyze product images with color as well as texture. Fisher's discriminant analysis (FDA) is also used as a supervised learning method for automatic classification. The use of FDA, one of latent variable methods, enables us not only to classify products appearance into distinct classes, but also to numerically and consistently estimate product appearance with continuous variations and to analyze characteristics of appearance. This approach is successfully applied to automatic quality classification of intermediate and final products in industrial manufacturing of engineered stone countertops.

  • 본 연구에서는 발포사출성형품의 단점인 외관 품질을 개선하기 위해 순간 금형가열방식인 MmSH(Momentary Mold Surface Heating)을 사용하였다. 또한 발포제의 함량에 따른 발포 체의 구조를 살펴보았다. 일반발포사출과 MmSH방식을 사용 발포사출의 표면거칠기를 비교한 결과 표면이 개선된 것을 볼 수 있었고 발포제의 함량에 따른 발포체의 구조는 함량이 증가함에 따라 중량 감소로 셀 수 증가를 보였지만 어느 한계 이후에서는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 보여진다.
