This paper presents a computer-aided simulation and robotic-assisted execution technology of external fixation method to achieve fracture reduction and deformity correction in long bones. Combining the kinematic analysis with a graphic model of the tibia and the fixator allowed 3D simulation and visualization of the adjustments required to reduce fracture or correct bone deformity as a pre-operative planning tool. The developed robot model provided accurate deformity correction with small residual deformity based on the results of the planning. By incorporating the robot model with image-guided system and computer-aided planning, the integrated system could be useful for computer-aided pre-operative planning and robotic-assisted execution in fracture treatment and bone deformity surgery.

This study explores mime elements of court Hagmu(鶴舞) in literature and what is expressed in the practice of current Hagmu and examines what has been changed while others are kept intact. The content of Hagmu is that "attracted by lotus flowers in a pond, cranes dance around and peck at them, when the blossoms open wide with a girl [dancer] inside, upon which the surprised cranes fly away." The dance consists of 4 steps: the first step is for the entrance of cranes; in the second step the cranes dance moving across jidang(池塘) and the north; in the third step the cranes are curious about the lotus calyces, yeontong(蓮筒); and the cranes withdraw in the fourth step. The literature suggests that the dancing courses on the stage are limited to the east, the west, the south, and the north. The movement is limited to naeson (內旋) only in mujin(舞進) and mutoe(舞退). Furthermore, the gaze is only allowed toward the north and jidang. Motions are limited to naejog(內足), oego (外顧), and naego(內顧). However, the mime elements of current Hagmu are attributed to the effort of translating crane's life into a realistic story. It relates the life of cranes to that of human beings and implies love in it. Finally, the court Hagmu has entered the real world out of the literature, enriched with new elements. Under the transition from literature to practice the diversity of expression is added while the elements related with court codes such as courses, movements, directions, and motions are kept intact. These limitations, however, are coupled with the sensitive 'love' and the exposure of dancing instruments intrigues audience and creates dramatic effect. In conclusion the significance of mime elements in court Hagmu is in enhancing communication with audience.

천안과 안산의 중간지점인 탕정, 조용한 전원도시였던 이곳이 최근 첨단복합도시로 거듭나고 있다. 기존의 탕정산업단지를 기반으로 주변의 배후주거단지가 차례차례 조성되며, 인구 18만명의 새로운 신도시 탄생을 예고하고 있는 것. 이러한 변화의 중심에는 삼성건설이 짓고 있는 '탕정 삼성 트라팰리스 2차 현장'이 있다. 이곳은 인근에 천안아산KTX역과 충남외고, 탕정중학교 등을 두고 있어, 교통과 교육 등에 있어 부족함이 없다. 게다가 현장 바로 옆에 탕정 삼성 트라팰리스1차 현장도 있어 선호 주거지의 대명사인 '삼성타운'의 등장을 기대케 한다. 좋은 입지와 주변의 높은 기대감을 반영, 이곳 현장은 시공에 만전을 기하고 있다. 완공까지 무재해를 기록해, 향후 입주민들에게 '안전'이라는 선물을 안기겠다는 이곳 현장을 찾아가 봤다.

An 8-month-old, 3.5 kg intact female Toy Poodle was presented for non-weight-bearing lameness on left hindlimb. In radiological testing, left proximal tibal type II Salter-Harris physeal fracture and fibular fracture were seen. Following open reduction, the fracture was stabilized with cross-pins, tension band wires, and a hinged transarticular external skeletal fixator (HTAESF). The range of the HTAESF was increased to $25^{\circ}$ at 7 days postsurgery and to $70^{\circ}$ at 14 days post-surgery. The HTAESF was removed 3 weeks after surgery. At 6 weeks post-surgery, the fracture was successfully healed with no complications and the patient recovered a normal gait. Seven months post-surgery, the patient had a normal gait and a normal stifle joint range of motion compared to the contralateral normal limb. This is a case in which the combined use of cross-pins, tension band wires, and HTAESF was successful for treatment of a proximal tibial physeal fracture in a dog. It is thought that these methods are beneficial for stability of fracture site and recover of joint's normal range of motion through early joint movement.

Purpose: To evaluate the outcomes of three different surgical approaches in treating a distal radius fracture with dorsal communition. Materials and Methods: From April, 2006 to May, 2009, 49 patients over age of 60years old with unstable dorsal communition distal radius fracture were analyzed. We compared maintainability of reduction by radiological follow-up observations and clinical outcomes using Mayo wrist scores. One-Way ANOVA test was performed to examine the statistical correlation between the methods. Results: All three approaches provided satisfactory post-op reduction results. However, follow-up observations showed significant loss of reduction in the external fixation only group compared to the added bone graft group and the volar anatomical locking plate group (P<0.05). Mayo wrist score was indifferent between the three groups. Conclusion: Treatment of a distal radius fracture with severe dorsal communition using an external fixation only appears to be insufficient in maintaining reduction of a cancellous bone defect.
