A Study on Electric Field Dependence of Tree Shape in Low Density Polyethylene (저밀도폴리에틸렌에서 트리 형상의 전계의존성에 관한 연구)

  • Internal insulators give rise to partial discharge(PD), which cause local breakdown and even entire insulation breakdown. Treeing due to PD is one of the main causes of breakdown of the insulating materials and reduction of the insulation life. Therefore the necessity for establishing a method to diagnose the aging of insulation materials and to predict the breakdown of insulation has become important. From this viewpoint, we have studied on Electric Field dependence of tree shape in Low Density Polyethylene about treeing phenomena occurring on the high electrical field. As the result, under the reasoning that the growing of tree supposing when the inner part of tree is either dielectrec or conductor has the intermediate characteristics between dielectrec and conductor, theoretically investicated results well according with the experimental results.

  • Ionic liquid (IL) is a salt presents in a liquid form at room temperature. Recently, it attracts huge attention due to its possibilities as a clean solvent, electrolyte, and catalyst. In the present work, the charging behavior of six different ILs were investigated using droplet contact charging phenomenon in a dielectric medium. Basically, the charging of an IL droplet can be explained by a perfect conductor theory. However, there were several different features depending on the species of ions of ILs, which requires rigorous molecular level modeling of charge transport through electrochemical reaction of IL. We hope the present results contribute to build up fundamental understanding of electrochemical charge transport of IL.

  • A MF/HF marine whip antenna with side whips, which are connected at an angle with the straight main whip, has reported In this paper, the effects of side whips on the antenna are simulated by using NEC-WIN and a novel MF/HF ship antenna with side whips is designed First of all, the gain, return loss, and radiation pattern of the antenna on infinite perfect conductor plane are simulated as function of the parameters of the side whip, such as the number, the location, the length of the side whip and the angle with the main whip. After that, the size of the antenna is decided and set up on an experimental ship in Korea Maritime University. The antenna on the ship are simulated and the simulated input impedances are good agreement with the measured results.

  • Electromagnetic wave transmission through periodic metal-insulator-metal(MIM) waveguides as a function of plate thickness has not been extensively studied at various terahertz frequencies. In this paper, we investigate the transmittances through gold MIM slits when a normally incident wave with parallel polarization is considered at several terahertz frequencies. In addition, the results are compared to the case of a perfect electric conductor, and the differences are discussed.

  • 용액공정을 통해 유기 전자소자를 대면적으로 제조하는 것은 다양한 장치 구성 요소(반도체, 절연체, 도체)의 패터닝 및 적층이 필요하기 때문에 매우 어려운 과제이다. 본 연구에서는 4개의 광 가교 기능기를 가지는 3차원 사면체 가교제인 (2,2-bis(((4-azido-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzoyl)oxy)methyl)propane-1,3-diyl bis(4-azido-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzoate) (4Bx)를 활용하여 용액공정을 기반으로 형성된 전자재료 박막을 고해상도로 패터닝 및 적층하는 기술을 개발하고, 이를 사용하여 고분자 박막 트랜지스터(PTFTs) 및 논리회로 어레이 제작을 진행하였다. 4Bx는 다양한 용액공정이 가능한 전자재료와 용매에 쉽게 혼합될 수 있으며, 자외선(UV)에 의해 가교제가 광 활성화되어 전자재료와 가교 결합을 형성할 수 있다. 4Bx는 기존의 2개의 광 가교 기능기를 갖는 가교제에 비해 높은 가교 효율로 인해 적은 양을 첨가하여도 완전하게 가교된 전자재료 박막을 형성할 수 있어 전자재료의 고유한 특성을 보존할 수 있다. 더욱이, 가교된 전자재료 박막은 화학적 내구성이 향상되어 고해상도 미세 패터닝을 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 용액공정을 통해 전자소자를 구성하는 전자재료의 적층이 가능하다. 4Bx의 광 가교 방법은 전용액공정을 통한 전자소자의 제작에 대한 혁신적인 방안을 제시한다.

Effect of the Particle Size of Jeju Scoria on Growth Performance, Carcass Characteristics and Fecal Components in Pigs (입자도가 다른 제주 화산암 분말(Scoria) 급여가 돼지의 성장, 도체특성 및 분성분에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of different particle sizes of scoria inclusion in weanling-growing-finishing diets on growth performance and carcass quality was investigated in this study. Treatments were the control (basal diet), and 3 scoria treatments with different partical sizes (500, 1,000, 1,700 ${\mu}m$, respectively) in which $3\%$ of basal diet was replaced by scoria. This study was carried out for 143 days using 84 pigs. Each treatment has 3 replicates (4 gilts and 3 barrows per pen). 1. During nursery period, all scoria treatment levels showed poor Average daily gain (ADG) and feed efficiency compared to the control. During growing period, The ADG and feed efficiency of pigs fed the $1,000\;{\mu}m$ swine treatment tended to improve. For the whole growth period (d 0-143), $1,000\;{\mu}m$ scoria treatment showed significantly higher (P<0.05) ADG and feed efficiency than the $1,700\;{\mu}m$ scoria treatment. 2. Carcass weight was higher in all of scoria treatment levels Either the control (P<0.05), while backfat thickness was unaffected among treatments. Carcass Grade A or B grade appearance was more evident in all of scoria treatments compared to the control. 3. Hunter L value was numerically higher in the control while there was no significant differences among the control, $1,000\;{\mu}m$ scoria and $1,700\;{\mu}m$. Hunter a value was highest (P<0.05) in $1,000\;{\mu}m$ scoria, while Hunter b values were not influenced by the scoria treatment levels. 4. The different scoria treatment levels reduced N and P excretion. For growing period, $1,000\;{\mu}m$ scoria was most efficient in reducing N excretion, while during the finishing period, $1,700\;{\mu}m$ scoria was the best. The P excretion was affected by scoria particle size during growing-finishing periods rather than weanling period. The above findings indicated that the inclusion of different scoria partical sizes in nursery diet resulted to adverse effects on growth performance in contrast to the growing finishing diets wherein the growth performance and carcass quality were not affected. Finally, scoria regardless of particle size proved to be effective in reducing N and P excretion and can be considered an environment friendly mineral source for growing-finishing hog diets.

The Study on Production and Performance of Crossbred Korean Native Chickens (KNC) (토종 순종계를 이용한 토종닭 생산 및 생산성 연구)

  • The current work was carried out to investigate the effect of crossbred Korean native chickens (KNC) on performance and carcass ratio. Seven hundred twenty 1-d-old chicks were divided into groups by strain (A, B, C and D) and sex (male and female). Strains were A) (KNC egg-meat type C strains $\times$ KNC meat type S strains) $\times$ KNC meat type H strains, B) (KNC egg-meat type C strains $\times$ KNC meat type H strains) $\times$ KNC meat type S strains, C) (KNC native R strains $\times$ KNC meat type S strains) $\times$ KNC meat type H strains and D) (KNC native L strains $\times$ KNC meat type H strains $\times$ Ross broiler. Experimental diets consisted of 3 phases such as starter(0~5 weeks; CP 20.0%, ME 3,050 kcal/kg), earlier (5~8 weeks; CP 18.0%, ME 3,100 kcal/kg) and finisher (8~12 weeks; CP 16.0%, ME 3,150 kcal/kg). Body weight (BW) and feed intake (FI) was measured every week and carcass ratio(CR) was calculated at 5 and 10 week after starting experiment. There was no difference in BW among strains until 5 weeks (P>0.05), however D strain resulted in a higher BW after 5 weeks (P<0.05). Body weight gain (BWG) and FI in D strain were also significant higher compared to the other strains for all periods. However, D strains showed the lowest (P<0.05) fee conversion ratio (FCR). The other strains except D showed a similar BW, BWG, FI and FCR among strains. In addition, there were no differences in carcass weight (CW) and carcass ratio (CR) among strains at 5 weeks, however D strain showed higher CW and CR at 10 weeks. These results suggested the basic data that needed to develope the new strains.

Effects of Brewers Grain, Soybean Curd and Rice Straw as an Ingredient of TMR on Growth Performance, Serum Parameters and Carcass Characteristics of Hanwoo Steers (섬유질 배합사료 원료로서 맥주박, 비지박 및 볏짚이 한우 거세우의 사양성적, 혈액성상 및 도체특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the dietary effect of total mixed rations (TMR) containing brewers grain, soybean curd and rice straw, respectively, on growth performance and carcass characteristics of Hanwoo steers. Twenty four Hanwoo steers (average body weight 168 kg) in 6 months age were randomly allocated to 4 experimental groups, which contained 6 animals per group during 22-months feeding trial. The treatment was composed of the group fed concentrate and rice straw separately (T1), the group fed TMR containing brewers grain (T2), the group fed TMR containing soybean curd (T3) and the group fed TMR containing rice straw (T4). Body weight (BW) was not different among treatment groups during the growing and middle fattening period. However, it was significantly greater in T4 group than in T2 group on the final BW (p<0.05). Average daily gain was significantly greater in TMR groups compared to T1 group on the growing and late fattening (p<0.05). However, it was not different in total average. Dry matter intake tended to be increased in TMR groups. The feed conversion ratio was significantly lower in T4 group compare to T2 group (p<0.05). According to the yield traits, carcass weight of T1, T2, T3 and T4 were 389.0, 368.4, 387.5 and 384.3 kg, respectively. The back fat thickness, rib-eye area, and yield index were not different among the groups. Meat color, fat color, texture and maturity were not significantly different among groups. However, marbling score and appearance rate of meat quality grade of over $1^+$ were greater in T2 and T3 groups compare to other groups. Therefore, these results indicated that TMR with brewers grain and soybean curd may be ameliorated the growth performance and carcass characteristics of Hanwoo steers.

Effects of Light Sources in Poultry House on Growth Performance, Carcass Yield, Meat Quality and Blood Components of Finishing Broilers (계사 내 광원이 육계 후기의 생산성, 도체수율, 육질 특성 및 혈액성분에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the effect of different light sources in the poultry house on performance, meat quality, and blood composition of finishing broilers. Two hundred and forty male broilers (1-day-old, 42.2±0.1 g) were divided into three groups and subjected to different light source treatments (incandescent, LED, and fluorescent lamps) from 3 weeks of age (four replications/treatment, 20 birds/replication). After breeding for 6 weeks, the carcass yield and meat quality of broilers with similar body weight (BW; 3.4±0.07 kg) were investigated, and blood components were analyzed. Corn-soybean meal-based feed was provided as starter (CP 22.5%, ME 3,020 kcal/kg), early (CP 18.5%, ME 3,050 kcal/kg), and finishing (CP 18%, ME 3,100 kcal/kg). Performance, carcass yield, meat quality, and blood components were evaluated. BW, BW gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio did not show any significant differences among treatments. There was no significant difference on live weight and carcass yield among treatments. There was no significant difference on meat color, shear force, and water holding capacity; however, cooking loss at 17.2% was the highest in the LED treatment (P<0.05). There was no significant difference on blood components except for glucose (blood biochemistry component) among treatments. Glucose was 234.5 mg/dL, 256.9 mg/dL, and 250.1 mg/dL in the three treatments, respectively, with a significant difference between incandescent and LED treatments (P<0.05). These results are used useful as basic data for investigating the effect of lighting in broilers production.

Performance and Carcass Ratio of Large-type Female Broiler at Different Stocking Densities (다양한 사육밀도에서 대형 육계 수컷의 생산성과 도체수율)

  • This work was carried out to investigate performance and carcass yield of large-type broilers at different stocking densities. Treatments were T1 (9.1 birds/$m^2$), T2 (10.3 birds/$m^2$) and T3 (11.5 birds/$m^2$) by the stocking density. Four hundred eight 1-day-old Arbor Acre broiler chicks were used for six weeks (starter, 0~1 wks; earlier, 1~3 wks; finisher, 3~6 wks) and divided into 3 treatments (4 replications/treatment, 30, 34 or 38 birds/replication). Research indexes were rearing viability ratio, body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, production efficiency factor and carcass ratio. Rearing viability ratio (%) was 89% or more for all treatments and there was no significant difference on weekly rearing viability ratio (%). Body weight of T2 was the greatest and that of T3 was the lowest at 1 weeks old (P<0.05). Body weight gain of T2 was the greatest and that of T3 was the lowest at 0~1 weeks old (P<0.05). However, body weight gain of T3 was the greatest and that of T1 was the lowest at 1~2 weeks old (P<0.05). Body weight gain of T2 was the greatest as 3,031 g among treatments at 0~6 weeks old (P<0.05). Feed intakes of T1, T2 and T3 were 1,417 g, 1,265 g and 1,355 g, respectively, and that of T1 was the greatest among treatments (P<0.05). There was no significant difference on body weight, body weight gain and feed intake. Feed conversion ratio of T1 was the greatest among treatments at 1~2 wks, 3~4 wks and 0~6 wks old (P<0.05). Production efficiency factors of T1, T2 and T3 were 363.5, 388.3 and 358.3, respectively, and there was no significant difference among treatments. Wing meat ratio of T1 was the higher compared to other treatments at the age of 4 wk (P<0.05). There was no significant difference on carcass ratio and partial meat ratio among treatments. Neck meat ratio of T2 was the lowest among treatments (P<0.05). This result may provide the standard data of different stocking densities for large-type broiler and the further research is needed.
