  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of withering on mechanical properties for optimizing the condition of transportation and storage of fresh leafy vegetables which they would be easily able to be suffered the physical damage. Experimental material used were spinaches and leeks which were easily apt to be withered. The breaking stress, elastic modulus and viscosity were measured in the range of temperature $3{\sim}37^{\circ}C$ and water content $70{\sim}95%$ by the four element model, being used the creep tester made by author. As a result of this study, while water content was decreased, breaking stress was increased. The elastic modulus and viscosity of the specimens were not influenced on temperature, but on water content. In reversibility test of the withering, the appearance, water content and elastic modulus of the specimens were completely recovered to the initial freshness, but the viscosity was not.

  • A computer program was developed to analyze the two-dimensional unsteady incompressible viscous flow behind a rectangular bluff body between two parallel plates. The Peaceman-Rachford alternating direction implicit numerical method and Wachspress parameter were adopted to solve the governing equations in vorticity-transport and stream function formulation. The steady state flow and the vortex flow behind a rectangular bluff body in a chemical were investigated for Reynolds numbers of 200 and 500. The vortex shedding was generated by a physical pertubation numerically imposed at the center of the flow field for a short time. It was observed that the perturbed flow became periodic after a transient period.

  • 터보분자펌프(turbomolecular pump, TMP)는 각종 연구장비, 반도체 제조장치, 가속기, 핵융합 실험 장치 등 여러 분야에서 가장 널리 쓰이는 고진공 펌프로서 자리잡고 있다. 이런 TMP의 광범위한 사용에도 불구하고 성능평가에 관한 통일된 규격이 마련되어 있지 않다. 국제 규격협회(ISO)의 터보분자펌프 성능평가방법 시안을 토대로 제정중인 KS 규격은 아직 실험적인 근거를 자체적으로 가지고 있지 못하므로 앞으로 각 항목들에 대한 많은 실험이 수행되어야 한다. TMP의 성능을 나타내 주는 항목들 중 배기속도(pumping speed)와 압축비(compression ratio)는 가장 중요한 것들로서 다른 고진공 펌프 및 TMP 상호간의 성능을 비교할 수 있는 기본 항목이라 할 수 있다. 본 실험에서는 종래의 단순 TMP와 큰 기체유량에서도 안정된 배기속도를 유지하는 복합터보분자펌프(compound molecular pump, CMP)의 배기속도와 압축비 및 임계배압(critical backing pressure)을 KS 규격안대로 시험 평가하여 안의 평가방법과 기준의 타당성을 검토하고, 두 가지 다른 방식의 펌프에 적용할 수 있는지를 검토하였다. TMP 및 CMP 흡기구에 표준용기를 부착하고 수소 및 질소 기체를 사용하여 흡기구 압력을 변화시키면서 배기속도 및 압축비를 측정하고 배기구 압력을 변호시키면서 최대압축비 및 임계배압을 측정하였다. 흡기구의 압력측정에는 인출형 전리진공계(EG)를 사용하였고, 배기구의 압력측정은 전기용량의 격막진공계(CDG)와 피라니 진공계로 측정하였다. 진공계는 모두 회전식 점성진공계(SRG)로 교정한 후 사용하였다.

  • Shear strength of soil is power that resists failure and sliding according to any face in soils and one of the most important factors during engineering properties of soil. Shear strength is used for engineering science problems as bearing capacity methods of foundation or piles, slope stability after dam or Cutting Embankment and stability problem analysis of soils as lateral earth pressure of soil structures, ets. This study has analyzed shear strength change of samples classified 2.00mm(10sieve)와 0.85mm(20sieve), 0.475mm(40sieve) using direct shear tester after removing and drying cohesive soil ingredient of Weathered granite soil Therefore, this study would help studies about shear strength properties by particle size.

  • The characteristics of the longitudinal velocity in a $180^{\circ}$ constant-radius, recirculating laboratory channel were investigated. Three-dimensional velocity fields were measured using a side-looking ADV. The shortcomings of existing equations for longitudinal velocity are discussed. An eddy viscosity model is adopted in the downstream momentum equation. A mathematical equation was developed to describe the vertical distribution of longitudinal velocity. The comparisons of the longitudinal velocity show generally good agreement. It is found that the curvature change in the curved channel affects the vertical location of maximum velocity and the vertical profile of longitudinal velocity.

  • To study the grout flow in jointed rock, various nurser characteristics of grout in a single joint plane and two-dperorbed. The joint plane is described as a channel nets properties of grout are considered. To deal with various prob generator and i oint network generator are used. A loss of head due to friction in laminal flow is adopted to between the grout and joint wall. The grout flow is stopped, setting time. To consider this phenomenon, the idea of maxim From the results of numerical simulation on the single jai etration of grout is confirmed. The basic principles for the ation and the selection of the grout are presented. Correlation ant and grouting pressure is defined by analyzing the effects grout flow. Finally, the grout flow around a tunnel is simulate ins grouting operation for jointed rock mass.

  • As the first step to investigate the nonlinear interactions between turbulence and marine structures inside a viscous NWT, a LES technique was applied to the turbulent channel flow for $Re_{T}=150$, in this paper. The employed models were 4 types, such as the Smagorinsky model, the Dynamic SGS model, the Structure Function model and the Generalized Normal Stress model. The simulated data in time-series for the LESs were averaged in both time and space and performed statistical analysis. And results of the LESs were compared with those of a DNS developed in the present study and two spectral methods by Yoon et al.(2003) & Kim et al.(1987). It seems to be quite difficult to evaluate their performances to the present problem, but is seen that the accuracy of LESs are still related to the number of grids(or fine grid size).

Comparison of properties and heavy metal contents of paddy and Jeju rices (재배방식이 다른 논쌀과 제주밭쌀의 특성 및 중금속 함량비교)

  • The physical properties and heavy metal content in rices that were grown in different conditions were compared; two paddy rices grown in irrigated water and a Jeju rice grown in dry field without irrigation. The pasting properties, color, or amylopectin chain length distribution were different, however, they were independent of growing conditions. For heavy metals such as Pb or Cd, Jeju rice showed similar content to paddy rices. However, total and inorganic arsenic (As) contents were much lower; for Jeju rice, the total arsenic content was only 10.1-17.9% of that in two paddy rices, and the inorganic arsenic was just corresponding to 15% of that in paddy rice. The inorganic arsenic content decreased by 34.1, 23.8, and 17.5% in paddy rice by soaking, cooking, and dripping with hot water, respectively.

  • The decomposition processes of Microcystis aeruginosa under the light and dark conditions were investigated in relation to the change of microcystins, physicochemical and biological factors. Cyanobacterial cells from upper stream of Lake Dae-chong were collected and incubated in the matrix of raw water under the light and dark conditions without additional nutrients. The decomposition of Microcystis cells started from beginning of the experiment and most of the cells were decomposed on 12th day. Under the light condition the concentration of toxins in filtrate fractionwas increased with the increase of viscosity as the decomposition of algal cells proceed whereas no significant change was observed under the dark condition. Microcystin- RR was most labile toxin than the other two microcystins because it was identified mainly in lyophilized cells but detected at trace level in the filtratefraction.

  • Changes in the rheological properties and the linear viscoelasticity of fish protein gel upon the thermal processing were studied by using mathematical models with stress-relaxation data. The linear viscoelasticity of surimi gel was observed in the range of the true strain $0.105{\sim}0.693$ and cross-head speed $50{\sim}250\;mm/min$ applied in this study. The results of the generalized Maxwell analysis showed that the magnitudes of elastic elements $(E,\;E_e)$ were increased, but the viscous element $({\eta}) $was decreased, as the cross-head speeds and strain levels were increased. Compared to the protein gel heated directly at $90^{\circ}C$ without preheating, the protein gel pretreated at $4^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$ showed the higher elastic modulus, but showed different trends in the viscous component, depending on the rheological model applied. Thus, the approaching methods and curve fitting of two mathematical models of stress-relaxation to describe the viscoelastic properties of fish protein gel were discussed.
