국내 바이오에탄올 혼합연료유 도입을 위한 실증평가연구 (Actual Assessment to Introduce Bio-ethanol Blended Fuel in Domestic)

  • 국제 원유가의 지속적인 상승에 따라 화석연료 고갈을 대비한 대체에너지 빛 온실가스배출감소를 위하여 바이오연료의 사용 및 상용보급은 전세계적인 추세이다. 우리나라의 경우 바이오디젤은 2002년부터 시범보급사업(Demonstration & dissemination)을 거쳐 2006년 7월부터 전국주유소를 통하여 경유 중에 바이오디젤 0.5%를 혼합한 BDO.5를 수송용 연료로 도입하여 아시아 최초로 상용보급화를 시행하고 있다. 또한 휘발유 중 바이오에탄올 혼합 연료유 도입을 위한 실증평가연구를 2006년 8월부터 2008년 7월까지 수행중이다. 자동차용 휘발유의 옥탄가 향상을 위해 함산소 기재로 사용되는 MTBE(Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether)를 바이오에탄올로 대체한 바이오에탄올 혼합연료유는 수분 혼입에 의한 상 분리(Phase separation)와 금속에 대한 부식성 문제를 야기 시킬 수 있다. 바이오에탄올을 서브옥탄가솔린(Sub-octane gasoline)에 혼합하여 상 분리 모사실험, 금속류 부식시험, 고무류 침지실험 등 다양한 품질특성평가를 수행하였으며, 이런 결과들을 바탕으로 국내실정에 알맞은 최적의 혼합량(E3, E5)을 도출하였다. 또한 전국에 4개 시범주유소를 운영하여 바이오에탄올 혼합 연료유의 유통 및 보급을 통해 최적의 유통인프라(Distribution infrastructure) 보완 및 구축 방안을 도출 하고자 한다.

전과정 평가 방법에 의한 한국 대형선망의 온실가스 배출량 정량적 분석 (A quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from the Korean large scale purse seine fishery using LCA method)

  • The global warming related to GHG (greenhouse gases) emissions from industries is a major issue globally. Furthermore, GHG emissions from the fishery industries also represent an important issue, as indicated by "The Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries" at the Cancun, Mexico, meeting in 1992 and by the Kyoto protocol in 2005. Korea pronounced itself to be a voluntary exclusion management country at the 16th IPCC at Cancun, Mexico, in 2010. However, few analyses of GHG emissions from Korean fisheries have been performed. Therefore, a quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from the major Korean fisheries is needed before guidelines for reducing GHG emissions from the fishing industry can be established. The aim of this study was to assess the present GHG emissions from the Korean Purse seine fishery using the LCA (life cycle assessment) method. The system boundary and allocation method were defined for the LCA analysis. The fuel consumption factor of the purse seine fishery was also calculated. The GHG emissions for the edible fish were evaluated by determining the weights of whole fish and gutted fish. Finally, the GHG emissions required to produce 1kg of whole fish and 1kg of edible fish were deduced. The results will help determine the GHG emissions from the fishery. They will also be helpful to stakeholders and the government in understanding the circumstances involved in GHG emissions from the fishing industry.

서울시 에너지부문 직·간접 온실가스-대기오염 통합 배출량(2010) 산정 (An Estimation of Direct and Indirect GHG-AP Integrated Emissions from Energy Sector in Seoul (2010))

  • Greenhouse gas (GHG) and Air Pollution (AP) emission inventories have been constructed and estimated independently up-to-date in Seoul. It causes difficulty in GHG and AP integrated management due to a difference in emission inventories. In this study, we constructed GHG and AP integrated emission inventories for direct and indirect sources in Seoul during the year 2010 in Energy activities for estimating GHG and AP emissions were derived from IPCC guideline, guidelines for local government greenhouse inventories, air pollutants calculation manual, and Indirect Emission Factors (IEF) reported by Korea Power Exchange. The annual GHG emission was estimated as 50,530,566 $tonCO_{2eq}$, of which 54.8% resulted from direct sources and the remaining 45.2% from indirect sources. Among direct sources, transportation sector emitted the largest GHG, accounting for 47.3% of the total emission from direct sources. As with indirect sources, purchased electricity sector only emitted 98.6% of the total emission from indirect sources. The annual AP emission was estimated as 283,701 tonAP, of which 85.9% was contributed by the combined AP emissions of transportation and fugitive sectors. Estimation of individual air pollutant showed that the largest source were transportation sector for CO, $NO_x$, TSP, $PM_{10}$ and NH3, non-energy sector for $SO_x$, and fugitive sector for VOCs. This study found some limitations in estimating GHG and AP integrated emissions, such as nonconforming emission inventories between GHG and AP, and no indirect AP emission factor of purchased electricity, and so on. Those should be further studied and improved for more effective GHG and AP integrated management.

농업분야 온실가스 배출량 산정의 불확도 추정 및 평가 (Estimation of Uncertainty on Greenhouse Gas Emission in the Agriculture Sector)

  • Analysis and evaluation of uncertainty is adopting the advanced methodology among the methods for greenhouse gas emission assessment that was defined in GPS2000 (Good practice guideline 2000) and GPG-LULUCF (GPG Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry). In 2006 IPCC guideline, two approaches are suggested to explain the uncertainty for each section with a national net emission and a prediction value on uncertainty as follows; 1) Spread sheet calculation based on the error propagation algorithm that was simplified with some assumptions, and 2) Monte carlo simulation that can be utilized in general purposes. There are few researches on the agricultural field including greenhouse gas emission that is generated from livestock and cultivation lands due to lack of information for statistic data, emission coefficient, and complicated emission formula. The main objective of this study is to suggest an evaluation method for the uncertainty of greenhouse gas emission in agricultural field by means of intercomparison of the prediction value on uncertainties which were estimated by spread sheet calculation and monte carlo simulation. A statistic analysis for probability density function for uncertainty of emission rate was carried out by targeting livestock intestinal fermentation, excrements treatment, and direct/indirect emission from agricultural lands and rice cultivation. It was suggested to minimize uncertainty by means of extraction of emission coefficient according to each targeting section.

  • 세계적인 에너지 및 온난화 문제로 이에 대한 개선은 필연적인 과제가 되었다. 그러나 기존의 대응은 건설단계와 운용단계의 에너지 소비절감에 집중되어 왔다. 상대적으로 유지관리 및 해체 폐기단계의 관리는 소홀하였다. 본 연구에서는 건설 전 생애주기에 걸쳐 각 건설단계 별로 발생하는 환경부하를 정량적으로 예측하여 평가하고, 각 공정별로 환경부하를 평가할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다. 또한 건설 전과정에서의 환경부하 평가 및 저감을 위한 객관적이고 신뢰성 있는 의사결정 모델을 제시하였다. 또한 프로그램의 현장 적용성을 검토하기 위해 실제 해체공사를 대상으로 시험평가를 실시하였다. 이를 통해 친환경 건설기술 개발에 일조하고 저탄소 녹색성장에 기여하고자 한다.

DNDC를 이용한 논의 온실가스 배출량 모의 (Simulation of GHG Emission from Paddy Field using DNDC Model)

  • This study was conducted to predict greenhouse gas (GHG) emission from paddy by future climate change scenario in Korea. Chuncheon city in Kangwon province were selected as study area. A1B Special Report on Emission Scenario (SRES) of the IPCC (Intergovernmental panel on climate change) was used to assess the future potential climate change. The rainfall and temperature was projected to increase by 8.4 % and 1.9 % (2040s), 35.9 % and 27.0 % (2060s), 19.2 % and 30.8 % (2090s), respectively, compare to the 2010s value. Under the climate change, Denitrification-Decomposition (DNDC) predicted an increase in $N_2O$, $CO_2$ and $CH_4$ emissions from paddy. The simulations resulted in annual net emissions of 0.4~2.4, 500.5~734.5 and 29.4~160.4 kg/ha/year of $N_2O-N$, $CH_4-C$ and $CO_2-C$, respectively, with a cumulated global warming potential (GWP) of $14.5{\sim}21.7t{\cdot}CO_2/ha/year$ were affected by rainfall, temperature, manure amendment and fertilizer amount. The simulation results suggested that implementation of manure amendment or reduction of water consumption instead of increased fertilizer application rates would more efficiently mitigate GHG emissions.

고충전 인쇄용지 제조를 위한 중질 탄산칼슘 전처리 기술의 안정성에 관한 연구 (Stability of Pre-treated Fillers for High Loaded Printing Paper)

  • 인쇄용지에 탄산칼슘을 많이 넣을수록, 즉 고충전 인쇄용지를 만들수록 펄프섬유의 사용량이 줄어들고, 건조비용이 감소함으로 생산비는 절감되며, 온실가스의 배출량도 적어지게 된다. 현재까지 고충전 인쇄용지는 주로 중질탄산칼슘(GCC. ground calcium carbonate)에 기능성고분자를 첨가하여 적절한 크기로 선응집(pre-flocculation)시켜 사용함으로서 기존의 인쇄용지 제조방법에 비해 고충전시에도 인쇄용지의 중요한 특성들인 인장강도의 저하를 줄이고, 평활도를 유지시켜왔다. 하지만 GCC의 선응집체는 만들어진 후 사용하기까지 시간이 지체되면 그 크기와 성질이 변하는 불안정성을 보였다. 본 연구에서는 GCC의 선응집기술을 개량하여 선응집된 GCC사이에 탄산칼슘을 화학적으로 새로 생성시켜 GCC간에 연결을 시도하였으며, 그 결과 안정성이 높은 선응집체가 형성되었고, 이를 HCC (hybrid calcium carbonate)로 명명하였다. HCC는 GCC 선응집체와 같이 종이의 강도를 높이고, 평활도를 유지시켰으며, GCC 선응집체의 단점인 벌크의 저하를 역전시켜 높은 벌크를 형성시키는 장점을 보였다.

국내 일반공항에서 항공기에 의한 대기오염물질과 온실가스의 배출량 산정 및 특성 분석 (Emissions of Air Pollutants and Greenhouse Gases from Aircraft Activities at the Small Scale Airports)

  • Emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases (GHGs) from aircraft activities at 11 small-scale airports were investigated using the emissions and dispersion modeling system (EDMS) version 5.1.3 during the two year period of 2009~2010. The number of landing and take-off (LTO) at these airports was dominant for the aircraft type B737, accounting for more than 60% of the total LTOs. Out of the 11 small-scale airports, Gwangju (GJ, RKJJ) airport was the largest emitter of air pollutants and GHGs, whereas Yangyang (YY, RKNY) airport was the smallest emitter. The emissions of $NO_x$ and VOCs in 2010 at the 11 airports ranged from 1.9 to 83 ton/y and 0.1 to 17 ton/y, respectively. In 2010, the emissions of $CO_2$ ranged from 394 to 21,217 ton/y. The emissions of most air pollutants (except for $NO_x$ and $PM_{10}$) and GHGs were estimated to be the highest in taxi-out mode. The highest emissions of $NO_x$ and $PM_{10}$ were emitted from climb-out and approach modes, respectively. In addition, the total LTOs at the 11 small-scale airports accounted for the range of 9.3~9.9% of those at four major international airports in Korea. The total emissions of air pollutants and GHGs at the 11 airports ranged from 4.8 to 12% of those at the four major airports.

지역 및 고도별 산불로부터 온실가스 배출량 분석 연구 (A Study on Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Forest Fires Depending on Region and Altitude)

  • In this study we analyzed carbon emissions of leaves of a Pinus densiflora which is vulnerable to a forest fire using the cone calorimeter in order to analyze greenhouse gas emissions from forest fires depending on region and altitude. Fuels were collected from 9 regions[Hongcheon(Gangwon-do), Chungsong(Gyeongbuk-do), Yanhpyeong (Gyeonggi-do), Jecheon(Chungchongbuk-do), Gongju(Chungcheongnam-do), Wuju(Jeollabuk-do), Youngam(Jeollanam-do), Busan and Jeju-do)] and 9 altitudes(80 m, 450 m, 900 m, 1000 m, 1100 m, 1200 m, 1300 m, 1400 m and 1500 m) and then, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions contained in a weight of 50 g of fuel were analyzed. According to the results, there were differences in carbon emissions by regional groups, as the average carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions in 9 regions were nearly 43.5929 g to 52.8868 g, and 0.8842 g to 3.6422 g, respectively. Busan and Jecheon had relatively higher carbon dioxide emissions and especially, Busan had 1.23 times higher carbon dioxide emissions than Jeju-do. Also, Gongju, Chungcheongnamo Province and Busan had relatively higher carbon monoxide emissions and especially, Gongju and Pusan had relatively higher carbon monoxide emissions and especially, Gongju had 4.12 higher carbon monoxide emissions than Hongcheon. In addition, there were differences in carbon emissions too depending on altitude, since carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions in 9 altitudes were respectively, 40.7015 g to 68.9297 g and 1.3923 g to 12.2918 g. At the altitude of 80m, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions were respectively, 68.9297 g and 12.2918 g, and at the altitude of 450m, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions were respectively, 65.5115 g and 11.2497 g. These results show that pine trees at the lower altitude discharge relatively more carbon. It is considered that this analysis on carbon emissions depending on region and altitude can be effectively used for predicting greenhouse gas emissions and establishing statistical data from forest fires in each region and altitude.

그린포트 구축을 위한 활동 순위 및 효과분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Activities Priority and its Effects for Green Port Construction)

  • 2009년 세계 경제 위기 이후 회복세로 돌아섬에 따라 항만 산업의 물동량이 증가하고 선박의 대형화 및 신속화가 점차 가속화됨에 따라 항만 시장도 경쟁이 치열할 것으로 전망되어진다. 한편 교토의정서가 공식 발효됨에 따라 각국에서는 대기오염에 대한 관심이 증가되고 있으며 $CO_2$배출량에 대한 감축 목표를 설정할 정도로 대기오염을 방지하는 자구책을 강구하고 있다. 이에 따라 항만에서도 그린 포트로의 전환이 불가피한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 그린포트구축 활동을 항만의 경쟁력관점에서 고찰하여 각 특징을 분석한다. 또한, 전문가의 설문조사를 행하고, 이에 대한 AHP 분석을 통하여 그린포트 구축 활동간의 우선순위를 도출하며, 구축결과가 항만의 경쟁력에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 것인지를 고찰한다.
