Effect of Guide Fin Structures and Boundary Parameters on Thermal Performances of Heat Exchanger for Waste Heat Recovery Thermoelectric Generator (가이드 핀 구조와 경계 파라미터가 폐열 회수용 열전발전 열교환기의 열적 성능에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study examined the effects of various guide fin structures and boundary parameters on the thermal performance of heat exchangers used in heat recovery thermoelectric generators. The heat transfer rate and pressure drop of the heat exchangers without fins, with circular fins, with triangular fins, and with combined circular and triangular fins were simulated numerically using ANSYS 19.1 commercial code to confirm the effect of the guide fin structures. The heat transfer rate of the heat exchanger with combined fins was 27.0%, 5.2%, and 1.5% higher than those without fins, with circular fins, and with triangular fins, respectively. The pressure drop characteristic of the heat exchanger with the combined fins was 28.3% higher than that without fins but 9.2% and 10.5% lower than those with circular fins and with triangular fins, respectively. The heat exchanger with combined fins as the optimal model showed the highest heat transfer rate of 5664.9 W and pressure drop of 1454.02 Pa for highest hot gas temperature, maximum flow rates of hot gas and coolant, and lowest coolant temperature.

Prediction and Experiment of Pressure Drop of R22 and R134a on Design Conditions of Condenser (응축기의 설계조건에서 R22와 R134a의 압력강하 예측 및 실험)

  • An experimental study on the refrigerant-side pressure drop of slit fin an tube heat exchanger has been carried out. A comparison was made between the predictions of previously proposed empirical correlations and experimental data for the pressure drop on design conditions of condenser in micro-fin tube for R22 and Rl34a. Experiments were carried out under the conditions of inlet refrigerant temperature of $60^{\circ}C$ and mass fluxes varying from $150\;to\;250\;kg/m^{2}s$ for R22 and Rl34a. The inlet air conditions are dry bulb temperature of $35^{\circ}C$, relative humidity of 40% and air velocity varying from 0.68 to 1.43 m/s. Experiments show that pressure drop for R134a was $22{\sim}22.6%$ higher than R22 for the degree of subcooling $5^{\circ}C$ For the mass fluxes of $200{\sim}250\;kg/m^{2}s$, the deviation between the experimental and predicted values for the pressure drop was less than ${\pm}20%$ for R22 and Rl34a.

A Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics for Cross Flow Heat Exchanger of Staggered Arrangement (어긋나기배열 직교류 열교환기의 열전달특성에 관한 연구)

  • Because heat exchanger consists of many circular tubes, the analysis of local heat transfer and pressure drop at the surrounding of circular tubes, performance and calculation of size, economics play important roles in design. In this study, This study conducted experiment and analysis in order to observe convective heat transfer coefficient LMTD (logarithm mean temperature difference) and pressure losses according to water temperature and air flow rate using a cross flow heat exchanger of staggered arrangement. This heat exchanger was composed of staggered arrangement for five rows and seven columns of tube banks, and the condition of experiment and analysis are $40{\sim}65^{\circ}C$ of water temperature and $5.0{\sim}12.3m^3/s$ of air flow rate. As a result of it, since air density decreases as water temperature and flow rate increases, Reynolds number decreases with characteristics of low flow velocity but mean heat transfer coefficient increases with air flow rate increase, heat transfer performance has been improved and pressure losses decreased. And since heat transfer rate shows about 8~12% and pressure drop around 0.01~7.5% error as the analysis result, the feasibility of this study could be evaluated.

  • Vortex tube is the device that can separate small particles from the compressed gas, as well as compressed gas into hot and cold flow. In this study, computational approach has been performed to analyze the characteristics of the vortex tube. Energy separation characteristics of the vortex tube has been tested for various geometric design parameters. For the given conditions, it is found that as the tube is lengthened, hot end temperature is reduced but cold end temperature does not influenced much. As the orifice diameter decreases, cold end temperature decreases. Also, as hot gas fraction increases, hot end temperature decreases. The results from this study can be used for the basic design parameter of the $CO_2$ reduction device.

  • 본 연구는 전온하의 질소가스에서 구대 평판전극을 사용하여 온도변화([$0^{\circ}C$]~[$80^{\circ}C$]와 전극간 거리(d=1.0, 2.0, 3.0[mm])를 변환시켰 을 때의 방전트성을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 중요한 결론은 다음과 같다. \circled1 온도가 저하함에 따라 절연파괴전압(VB)은 상승한다. \circled2 온도를 강하시킴에 따라 방전지속시간(t)이 길어진다. \circled3 전극의 불평등성이 클수록 절연파괴전압(VB)의 온도의존성이 커진다. \circled4 절연파괴 전계강도(EB)는 다음식으로 표현할 수 있다. 여기서, A, B 및 C는 상수이며 그 값은 다음표와 같다. EB=$AT^2$+BT+C(EB: 절연파괴 전계강도[kV/mm], T: 측정시의 온도[$^{\circ}C$]).

  • 본 연구에서는 냉방기에서 널리 이용되고 있는 평판핀이 연속적으로 부착된 다관식 증발 열교환기에 대하여 (1) 냉매의 열역학적 물성치의 변화 (2) 냉매와 공기 측 열전달 계수의 변화 (3) 냉매측 관 마찰 손실등을 고려한 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 작성하고 그 결과를 실험을 통하여 보정 완성하였다. 계산결과로 부터 공조기기의 설계조건, 공조계통 해석을 위한 기초자료를 제시하였다.

Development of Pressure Correction System for Surface Vessel to Ensure Reliability of Compartment Test Result (수상함 격실기밀시험 결과의 신뢰성 확보를 위한 압력 보정 시스템 개발)

  • Tightness performance that blocks compartments is important for surface ships to achieve superior mission performance and survivability in combat environments. To meet the above requirements, airtightness of the structural elements and the appropriate strength to specific areas are checked during a test run after ship construction. In particular, air tests of compartments adjacent to the water surface are performed. In an air test, air is injected into the compartment up to the test pressure of the test memo. The pressure drop value is checked after 10 minutes to determine if the requirements of the corresponding area are satisfied. In summer, however, when the influence of the outside temperature is large, a phenomenon in which the internal pressure increases during the air test was identified. This phenomenon reduces the reliability of the test result. Therefore, a system was designed to compensate for temperature changes in the compartments through this study. The developed system calculates the amount of pressure change caused by a temperature change in the compartment and outputs a correction value. The pressure change was calculated using the ideal gas equation, reflecting the maintenance, increase, and decrease in temperature during the test process. A comparison of the calculated pressure correction value with the database of NIST REFPROP revealed a difference of 0.126% to a maximum of 0.253%.

  • 고압의 가스를 이용하여 고온 가스와 저온 가스를 분리하거나 입자상 물질의 분리에 사용할 수 있는 장치인 볼텍스 튜브의 에너지 분리 특성을 파악하기 위하여 $20Nm^3$/hr급 볼텍스 튜브를 제작하고 이에 대한 실험을 진행하였다. 입구 압력, 저온측의 유량비가 온도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 입구 압력이 높아질수록 고온측의 온도는 증가하고, 저온측의 온도는 강하하였다. 저온 유량비 80%를 전후하여 고온측 온도가 최고점을 나타냈고, 저온유량비 40%를 전후하여 저온측 온도가 최저점을 나타냈다.

  • The temperature crack of concrete structure is caused by the phenomenon which the concrete volume is restricted in the inside or outside part due th the temperature variations induced by the hydration heat of cement. And mass concrete structures are weak in temperature crack. This study performed the hydration heat analysis of Seongdeok dam to analyze the hydration heat according to different interval of placement.

  • 최근 전력용 반도체 소자로서 많이 사용되고 있는 IGBT를 이용한 시스템의 제작시 신뢰성의 향상을 위해 시스템 운전시 정확한 접합부 온도를 순시적으로 추정할 필요가 있다. 기존의 소자온도 추정 방법들은 시스템 운전시의 순시적 추정이 아니라는 점과 정확한 접합부 온도가 아니라는 점이 문제가 된다. 본 논문에서는 시스템 운전시의 접합부 온도를 순시적으로 정확하게 추정할 수 있는 방법을 제시하여 경제적으로 시스템의 효율과 신뢰성을 높일 수 있도록 하였다.
