Numerical Analysis of Natural Convection in Room Fire (화재실내 자연대류의 수치해석)

  • In this study, numerical analysis of two-dimensional unsteady natural convection of air in a square enclosure heated from below, was performed as a basic research of fire science. SIMPLE algorithm was used to the pressure term of momentum equations in the numerical analysis. The numerical analysis were studied for the two model cases and two heat conditions, respectively, which are different with insulation of enclosures and position of heat applied. Also, the ceiling temperatures of enclosure were measured to compare the accuracy of numerical analysis, and it is found that the temperature predicted by numerical analysis were agreed well with the measurements. Streamline and isotherm of the each model case were acquired for each time step.

  • The magnetic properties of the amorphous Fe/sub 32/Ni/sub 36/Cr/sub 14/P/sub 12/B/sub 6/ has been studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy in the temperature range of 88-400K. The analysis of the spectrum of B8K, the magnetic hyperfine field and quadrupole splitting are found to be 140.5kOe and almost zero, which means that the magnetic hyperfine field is randomly oriented with respect to the principal axes of the electric field gradient, respectively. The values of quadrupole splitting in paramagnetic phase with Tc=280K are independent on the changes of temperature. Debye temperature is found to be about 288k from the analysis of recoilless fraction.

Equilibria and Kinetics of Cr(VI) Reduction (심층 지하에서의 육가 크롬 환원)

  • Reduction is one of the important mechanisrns in decreasing the amount of Cr(VI) in wastewater and this reaction is quite dependent on pH and temperature. Either soil organic materials, or a high inorganic salt concentration with elevated temperature and low pH will provide a good condition for the reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) in deep well injection zones. Chromate reduction by soil organic materials and chloride ion in various environment conditions is investigated. Aquifer and aquitard formation samples have been obtained from a deep well in St. Bernard Parish, and St. Charles Parish, LA, U.S.A., respectively. For this study, pH ranging from -0.81 to 2.0, temperature $50^{\circ}C{\;}and{\;}70^{\circ}C$, and cliloride concentration 0 M, 0.26 M and 0.52 M are used to represent the actual conditions in deep well injection zones.

마그네트론 스퍼터링을 이용한 TiN 다층 박막의 제조 및 특성

  • 본 연구에서는 마그네트론 스퍼터를 이용한 경사 코팅법으로 질화 티타늄을 합성하였으며, 온도, 시편 인가전압, 외부 자기장 등 여러 코팅 조건에 따른 박막의 특성변화를 평가하였다. 스퍼터 소스에 장착된 타겟은 6"의 Ti 타겟을 사용하였으며, 시편과 타겟간의 거리는 약 10 cm, 시편은 Si-wafer와 SUS를 사용하였다. 시편을 진공용기에 장착하고 진공배기를 실시한 후 Ar 가스를 진공용기 내로 공급하여 시편에 전압을 인가한 후 플라즈마를 발생시켜 청정을 실시하였다. 플라즈마 청정이 끝나면 질소유량 (5~60 sccm), 온도 ($0{\sim}300^{\circ}C$), 시편 인가전압 (0~100 V), 외부 자기장 (0~3 A) 등 여러 공정변수를 변화시키며 코팅하였다. 질화 티타늄의 두께는 약 $1.5{\mu}m$로 동일하게 코팅하였다. 그 결과 온도와 시편 인가전압은 각각 $200^{\circ}C$와 100 V 일 때 가장 높은 경도를 보였으며, 외부 자기장의 변화는 경도에 큰 영향을 미치지 않았다. 코팅 변수의 변화에 따른 질화 티타늄 박막의 색차, 경도, 조도, 반사도, 마모도 등의 물성 변화를 분석하였으며, 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 이용하여 공정변수 제어를 통한 원하는 특성을 가진 TiN 박막을 쉽게 형성할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

Design of a shoe rack for effective sterilization and deodorization of the shoes contaminated by various bacteria (오염된 신발의 효율적인 살균과 탈취를 위한 신발장의 설계)

  • The aim of this study was to establish the optimal conditions to design a shoe rack that could effectively sterilize and deodorize shoes contaminated by various bacteria. The manufacture and evaluation of a shoe rock was conducted for one year from October 2014 to September 2015. The antibacterial efficacies were evaluated using Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus by JIS Z 2801:2010. The deodorization efficiency was identified by the standard method for deodorization efficiency evaluation of an indoor air cleaner established by Korea Air Cleaning Association, SPS-KACA002-132:2006. The results showed that antibacterial evaluation showed more than 99.9% of the sterilization effects on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus after exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light for 30 seconds. The average deodorization efficiency for the test gases was 42.5%. The temperature in the shoes and in the shoe rack was lower than $40^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, respectively, when the UV lamp was turned on for 5 minutes and off for 25 minutes repeatedly. This was controlled by turning the UV lamp on and off to maintain the appropriate temperature in the shoes. In conclusion, the real deodorization efficiency is expected to be higher than the measured value because the internal volume of the shoe rack was smaller than the test chamber used to measure the deodorization efficiency. The deodorization effect could be increased further by the sterilization of bacteria causing bad odors in shoes. Further studies will be needed to determine the temperature deviations within the shoe rack to provide constant conditions.

  • The influence of titania nanorods with an average diameter of 10 nm and an average length of 30 nm on the electrohydrodynamic instability of block copolymer (polystyrene-b-poly(2-vinylpyridine)) thin film was investigated in this article. The presence of titania nanorods increased the dielectric constant of the film, which resulted in a systematic reduction in the wavelength of the surface instability. Cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy analysis indicated that the migration/aggregation of titania nanorods did not occur as a result of the applied electric field. This work can provide a simple route to the pattern formation using electrohydrodynamic instability with an aid of nanoparticles.

  • 본 논문에서는 Laser Rayleigh Pyrometer에 의한 광학계의 개조와 측정기술을 발전시켜 지금까지의 측정이 불가능한 밀폐용기내에서 분출화염의 온도측정을 시도하여 분출화염에 의한 착화나 소염의 연구에 중요한 자료를 얻고자 하는데 있다. 밀폐용기내에서의 온도측정은 대기개방형에서와 같이 Laser의 에너지를 증대시키기 위해 이용한는 다중반사 Mirror가 사용될 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 약한 Rayleigh산란빛에 의하여 입사창이란 Laser Trap으로 발생하는 강한 배경광 및 분출화염 뿐만 아니고 착화된 화염에서 대량의 화학발광은 피할 수 없다. 본 논문은 이와 같은 영향을 제거하는데 노력하여 밀폐용기내의 연소장에서 온도를 측정하였으며 또 측정가능성을 시사하였다.

  • 2개의 경사 배플을 가진 사각 채널내의 열전달과 유동양상에 특성을 조사하기 위해 수치해석을 행하였다. 본 연구에서는 바닥에서만 가열된 채널 내 2개의 배플에 9개의 다이아몬드형 구멍을 설치하였다. 배플은 19.8 cm의 폭과 23.2 cm의 길이 그리고 0.5 cm의 두께의 플렉시 글라스를 사용하였다. 다이아몬드형 구멍의 크기는 $2.55\;cm{\times}2.55\;cm$이며 배플 경사각은 $5^{\circ}$를 유지하였다. 레이놀즈수의 범위는 23,000에서 57,000 이다. SST k-${\omega}$ 난류모델을 사용하였다. 누셀트(Nu) 수의 수치해석 결과는 실험 결과로 검증하였다. 유동장에 관한 수치해석으로부터 배플 구멍 근처의 유동 양상을 나타낼 수 있었고 이러한 유동장이 온도장의 특징에 크게 영향을 미친다는 것을 나타내었다. 국부 누셀트수는$x/D_h$=2.5 에서 최대가 되었다.

  • A numerical analysis was performed on magnetic field effects of silicon melt motion in Czochralski crystal puller. The turbulent modeling was used to simulate the transport phenomena in 18' single crystal growing process. For small crucible angular velocity, the natural convection is dominant. As the crucible angular velocity is increased, the forced convection is increased and the distribution of temperature profiles is broadened. The cusp magnetic field reduces effectively the natural and forced convection near the crucible and the temperature profiles of the silicon fluids is similar in the case of conduction.
