Polymeric membranes have been used in various applications and generally applied to the systems prevented from exterior exposure. However, polymer membranes for outdoor usages such as, an air quality monitoring and membrane reservoirs for the selective recovery of useful metals from seawater, have been newly developed. Thus it is required to investigate the properties of the membrane for the outdoor use and also studies of the accelerated UV exposure onto the polymeric membranes are essential to estimate their weatherability. Herein, we report on the thermal and mechanical properties, morphology changes, and color differences of the polysulfone anisotropic membranes and non-woven type polypropylene membranes with the accelerated UV exposure. Results showed that the effect of UV exposure on the membrane depend not only on the polymer used but also on the form of the membrane. This work can provide some of key informations of the membrane for outdoor use.

To derive a check list of a borrowed city phenomenon, this discussion, through two cities subway OOH advertising in door, compared for convergence by segment analysis. First, discussions considered to be close to the topic of this discussion were arranged and summarized. Seoul and London were selected, and both sides of subway train doors in two cities selected, their states pictured and the images analyzed. As a result of comparison, in case of Seoul subway, the boundary between public information and commercial information(outdoor advertising) was very vague, so the borrowed city phenomenon was very generally analyzed. However, In case of London subway, its result was very contrary to that of Seoul. Eventually, Subway train doors of Seoul city as a borrowed city extracted check points of height, size, color, interval, space and permanency. Therefore in order to study serious discussion this contribution is necessity to limit thoughtless OOH advertising by these checklists in Korean cities.

Domestic harbor yard storage facilities are a place specifically located in a container terminal for import and export of packaged dangerous goods, and due to the recent relaxed criteria for the secured open area, concerns for the extended damage upon accidents are increasing. In this study, the impact of damages by radiant heat was analyzed through a simulation of a pool fire caused by the leakage of flammable liquids from a tank container. As a result, it was analyzed that the distance of radiant heat according to threshold damage levels was beyond the current criteria of the secured open area, and the structural damage of adjacent containers could happen within a very short time if they were exposed to the early pool fire continuously. It is considered that this study will be helpful in preparing the proper criteria for the secured open area between yard storage facilities in a container terminal.

Outdoor lighting has become a necessary essential part of society for safety and comfortable space. However, inappropriate outdoor lighting leads to energy waste and poor landscape. Outdoor lighting is a very important social element, which enables us to conduct various activities at night in a safe, efficient and comfort way. River Thames in UK, Venice in Italy and Sydney in Australia is a good example of the coastal area. This paper aims to evaluate the light pollution of outdoor lighting in coastal area in Busan city. The Radiant Imaging ProMetric-1400 was used to measure the luminance of Gwangalli Beach, Marine City and Haeundae Beach. Compare to the CIE recommendation level the luminance of the all outdoor lighting were about 2~20 times higher. Outdoor lighting of the building facade luminance level and color should be particularly limited.

In the current so-called age of emotion marketing, the independent form of handwriting of calligraphy is being revitalized in various fields such as advertising, book designs, film titles, posters, packages, BI, and even fashion. Thus centered on Gyeyang-gu at the city of Incheon, 100 outdoors signs that used calligraphy were chosen and we researched a reform plan that could revitalize calligraphy in outdoor signs by classifying them according to current conditions of the use of calligraphy, actual conditions of practical use, expression tools, and analyzing the use of colors. The result was trial requests not only from the formalities industry, but also the financial sector, public corporations, and several other businesses, but in order to provide not only for franchise brand logotypes manufactured by expensive experts, but also provide production of high-quality calligraphy for low costs for small private enterprises, the development of a diverse calligraphy education program, centered on the regional society, will be needed. In the midst of globalization, in order to advertise the beauty of Korean alphabet and to create our own unique street culture, a variety of tools and tactile expressions are demanded, in the future the research on the calligraphy of outdoor signs must be revitalized.

In this paper, a view point tracking system has been realized for outdoor augmented reality including broad area monitoring. Since the surroundings of the moving view point are changing, it is necessary to track the position and observation moment of the view point system for consistency between real and virtual images. For this reason, the GPS(Global Positioning System) is applied to the realized system for tracking the information on position and direction of the moving system. In addition, an optical position tracking system that is able to track view point in a limited area is used, because the local tracking system has to trace the image variation, seen to the observer in a moving vehicle, at a particular position and time. It was found that the realized outdoor augmented reality system, which combined the virtual information tracked in real time with the real image, can be very practical in various application area.

This paper reports on the results of weathering test, tracking test and salt-fog test of various kinds of cycloaliphatic epoxy systems. UV irradiation dramatically induced the loss of surface hydrophobicity due to the chain scission attack at the surface under UV irradiation. It could be seen that samples containing an UV absorbent/antioxidant and a silicone oil additive have a good performance in weathering test, while ATH(alumina tri-hydrate) filled ones have high resistance against tracking failure than others. Under salt fog chamber test, specimens mixed with silicone oil are able to suppress leakage current development. It was thought that silicone oil mixed into cycloaliphatic epoxy system could lead to lower the surface energy and to retain hydrophobic properties for a long time, which are desirable for outdoor use.

This study examined the safety of storage tanks by analyzing the causes of fire on outdoor storage tanks. The outdoor storage tank is a fixed device for the long-term storage of dangerous goods and consists of a tank body and accessories; the accessories consist of a vent system, breather valve, flame arrestor, etc. The flame arrestor is a necessary safety measure to prevent fire explosions on outdoor storage tanks. On the other hand, it has been suggested that the installation of a flame arrester is necessary to compare the domestic and international standards. In addition, the flame arrester should be installed in the existing outdoor storage tanks, to complement foreign standards because there are not enough domestic standards to verify the performance of the flame arrester.

위치기반서비스는 기본적으로 사용자의 위치를 파악해야 한다. 측위방법은 옥외용과 옥내용으로 구분되며, 옥외용에는 GPS 방법, 이동통신망을 이용한 방법, GPS와 이동통신망을 복합적으로 활용한 방법이 있고, 옥내용에는 적외선을 이용한 방법, 초음파를 이용한 ActiveBat과 Cricket, RF 신호를 이용한 RADAR가 있다. 기존의 옥외용 측위방법은 옥내에서는 사용이 제한되고, 기존의 옥내용 측위방법은 특수한 환경을 꾸며주어야 하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 보완한 방법으로 GPS 수신모듈과 무선LAN용 AP의 신호의 세기를 이용하여 사용자의 위치를 판단하는 옥내외 통합 측위시스템을 소개한다. 검증을 위해 제안하는 시스템을 구현해 보았으며, 실험 결과로 성능평가를 한다.

42년간 장기사용해온 소양강 수력은 옥외 철구형 송변전 설비 노후화로 설비의 안정성과 신뢰성이 저하되었고 관련설비의 국내 제품생산 중단으로 사고발생 시 장기간의 발전정지가 우려됨에 따라 조속한 시설대체가 요구되었다. 본 논문은 소양강수력발전을 사례로 수력발전소의 전력공급 신뢰도를 확보하는 옥외변전설비 현대화사업의 주요 공정에 대하여 분석한다. 변압기 및 GIS 제조구매 설치, 154kV 송전용 철탑공사, 모선보호반 설치공사를 세가지 주요공정으로 구분하고, 각 공정별로 현장여건, 필요설비, 공정상의 이슈 해결 등 시공과 관련한 제반 사례 연구결과를 기술, 공유하고자 한다.
