  • 경관 조명의 활성화에 따른 전반적인 흐름을 소개하고 이에 따른 경관 조명 알고리즘을 시작으로 객관적인 경관 조명 평가의 필요성을 제시하였다. 보다 객관적인 요소인 경제성 평가에 초점을 맞추어 실내조명과 옥외조명시스템을 공학적으로 비교 분석하였고 실내조명에서 적용되었던 경제성 평가법을 실외 조명용으로 재해석하여 구체적인 경관 조명 설계를 제시하였다. 또한 경관 조명에서의 공학적 접근과 설계를 접목한 평가를 통해 적절한 조명 시스템을 분별할 수 있도록 하였다.

An application and evaluation of Alzheimer's Garden Audit Tool(AGAT) to assess outdoor space of the long-term care facility in Korea (국내 노인전문시설 옥외공간 평가를 위한 외국도구(AGAT)의 적용 후 평가)

  • Purpose: The aging population is the quickly increasing in Korea. Since 2008, the National Long term Care Insurance, a number of long term care facilities have established during short time in Korea. Especially, the environmental assessment tool is important for managing healing environment in a long term care facility for the elderly. Alzheimer's Garden Audit Tool (AGAT) is used to assess whether a garden incorporates those elements and qualities as healing outdoor space. In this paper, we discuss the benefits, limitations, and future directions of the assessment tool for long-term care facilities. Methods : The AGAT audit was done through content analysis by 5 experts from diverse discipline as post occupancy evaluation of a long term care facility located in suburban area. The expert group was asked to describe their comments for modification and improvement in application of AGAT. Results : The results of this study show that it is necessary to refine the instrument's items to better meet the needs of the criteria and items for Korean culture-friendly tool. Especially, greenhouse elements (various plants, birds etc.), multisensory experiences, users-oriented space, programmed activities in garden, and hazards on pathway has somewhat limitation as measurement to assess outdoor of long-term care facilities in Korea. Implications : Consequently, AGAT could be applicable to evaluate the outdoor space of long term care facility in Korea with culturally sensitive revision.

  • Experiments were conducted to know the effects of seed bed temperatures on the sprouting of seeds and seedling growth in the phytotron and field. Sprouting of seeds were most uniform when seed bed was stored under the straw and vinyl mulching for 48 hours after seed bed temperature increased up to 3$0^{\circ}C$ by the sun. In the phytotron, optimum temperature was 32$^{\circ}C$ for sprouting and day/night temperature of 25/30 and 20/15$^{\circ}C$ for greening and hardening of seedlings, respectively. In the field, the best results were obtained under the conditions of sprouting in the seedling chamber heated by electricity and greening the hardening under the double vinyl tunnel in the upland nusery bed.

Flow-structure Interaction Analysis for Durability Verification by the Wind Force of Outdoor Evacuation Stairs (옥외형 피난계단의 풍압에 따른 내구성 검증을 위한 유동-구조 연성해석)

  • In this study, one-way fluid structure interaction analysis was adapted to verify the durability of the outdoor evacuation stair structure operated in the event of a fire when wind pressure caused by a typhoon was applied. To this end, flow analysis was performed with the flow field around the structure of the evacuation stair in a steady state, and the durability was analyzed through structural analysis such as structural stress, deformation, and fatigue life using these analysis results by fluid data input data for structural analysis. As a result of flow numerical analysis, the air flow was different according to the shape of the evacuation stair structure, and this flow velocity distribution generated by the total pressure on the structure surface. Through the structural analysis results calculated by this total pressure, the safety factor calculated as the maximum stress value was found to be more than the safety factor, and durability was proven by fatigue life and deformation analysis.

  • This study aims at investigating the influences exerted by the visual elements of outdoor signboard on consumers' capacity to make judgment on values. Therefore, it intends at studying the values displayed by signboards. As the phase one of the investigation, on-site study has been performed to photograph signboards of the entertainment and amusement business premises in 4 regions of Busan, thus to investigate and analysis the photographed data. For the second phase, survey was peformed on the basis of the analyzed data to select 15 signboards to be used in making judgement of values based on results of frequency measure per each category of geographical region, business type and three grades of the high, medium and low. In the third phase, survey was peformed on the items of value (A-G) to analyze consumer values. Finally, the fourth phase was carried out to compare and analyze the actual values of business premisses against that of the consumers. The result of study displayed that the effect exerted by visual elements of signboards on consumers is not of simple information provision, but is of essential factor to serve as the foundation of added values for business premises.

  • This paper studied the possibility to predict a mechanical property variation from changes in created carbonyl bands by irradiating the surface of high-density polyethylene with short-wavelength ultraviolet radiation of 254 nm to induce a fast chemical degradation. The meaning of this study lies in checking whether a mechanical property change with the same chemical property as the induced optical deterioration is caused by using a UVC lamp with high photon energy instead of optical deterioration via xenon arc light source and outdoor exposure test via natural sunlight requiring a long time. The mechanical strength of high-density polyethylene checked by a tensile test and a creep destruction test showed a similar tendency with CI changes. In particular, the yield strength and elongation had a close relationship with the exposure time to ultraviolet radiation. Accordingly, this paper presented a method to grasp the mechanical property change outdoors requiring a long time more fast through the relationship between the mechanical property change and the carbonyl index using a UVC lamp causing the fast surface degradation.

Experimentally Evaluating Fatigue Behavior of Corroded Steels Exposed in Atmospheric Environments (대기환경하에서 장기간 사용된 부식강재의 실험적 피로거동평가)

  • Fatigue strength of temporary steels and painted structural steels corroded under outdoor atmospheric environments is not clear. In this study, fatigue tests were carried out on steel plates which were cut off from 7-year-old temporary structural member under subway construction environment and from 75-year-old Yeongdo bridge member under marine atmospheric environment. After removing corrosion production on the steel surface, 3-dimensional surface geometry of the corroded steel was measured at intervals of $1.0{\times}1.0mm$, and corrosion characteristics such as minimum, maximum and mean values of residual thicknesses were calculated. From the fatigue test and FEM analysis results, the relationship between corrosion characteristics and fatigue behavior was presented, and change in fatigue strength of the unpainted and painted steels corroded in outdoor environments was also presented.
