This research aims to understand the precise character of relics based on literature search and material analysis of the jade excavated from the first buried place of King Jung-jo, and to assess the level of damage through non-destructive diagnosis. Furthermore, scientific conservation treatment was used to restore the original shape of the excavated jade. According to literature search, the excavated jade is known to be jasper, but material analysis showed that it was as a serpentine with the mineral composition of antigorite. Infrared thermography analysis to assess deterioration showed that the internal damage is the result of the interstices developed along the boundary surface of the obtained jade. For conservation treatment of the damaged area on the surface, the jade was filled with a mixture of plaster and glue, and covered with a mixture of acrylic paint and gloss medium for protection, and color was adjusted.

The research efforts to modernize Hanok (Korean traditional housing) have been performed to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness through application of modern building methods and materials, and to disseminate it in various forms of sizes and facilities. In this study, in order to identify the variations of modernized Hanok, data from seven test-bed projects are analyzed based on the building work-section, element, method, and material. The data were standardized and managed through the modernized Hanok classification system (Hanclass) to facilitate systematic comparisons of the test-bed projects by the variation of building method and it's cost impact. Identified factors of the variation in terms of building methods were then itemized and quantified in terms of building cost. Findings of this study indicate that the timber structure is the most critical area for future variation for improving the quality and cost-effectiveness. The results of this study will be also used to systemize the Hanok database for further studies.

Singwangok, a new single cross variety, was developed by the maize breeding team at the National Institute of Crop Science (NICS), RDA in 2012. This hybrid, consisting of a high yield of grain, was produced by crossing two inbred lines, KS172 and KS173. KS172 is the seed parent and KS173 is the pollen parent of Singwangok. It is a yellow-orange intermediate maize hybrid (Zea mays L.). After the preliminary yield trial and advanced yield trial of Singwangok (Suwon185) in Suwon for 2 years, the regional yield trial of that was subsequently carried out for its growth characteristics and yield at 3 different locations from 2010 to 2012. It was named as Singwangok. The silking date of Singwangok is similar to the check hybrid, Jangdaok. The plant height of Singwangok is similar to Jangdaok, but its ear height ratio is lower than that of Jangdaok. Moreover, it has a resistance to lodging. The ear number per 100 plants of Singwangok is more 17 than that of Jangdaok, whereas the ear length of Singwangok is similar to Jangdaok. Further, the weight of 100 seeds of Singwangok is similar to Jangdaok. It has a moderate resistance to southern leaf blight (Bipolaris maydis) and a strong resistance to northern leaf blight (Exserohilum turcicum). Furthermore, it has a moderate resistance to the black streaked dwarf virus (BSDV), ear lot and corn borer. The grain yield of Singwangok, 7.81 ton/ha, was similar to that of Jangdaok. The seed production of Singwangok was well processed due to the good match during crossing between the seed parent, KS172 and the pollen parent, KS173, in Yeongwol; the F1 seed yield was 3.84ton/ha. Singwangok would be a suitable cultivar to all plain areas in Korea.
Monthly samplings were made at Yongho-dong, Pusan, on the south eastern coast of Korea from May 1998 to April 1999 to investigate population growth and regeneration pattern of C. okanurae. The growth of erect branches was dependent mainly on the habitat water temperature. Maximum length of an erect branch was 13.4 cm in July and the minimum was 5.1 cm in March; during the corresponding months maximum and minimum weights of the alga were 2.2 and 0.7 g, respectively. During this investigation, gametangia did not occur. Regeneration of excised ramuli was dependent on irradiance. Regeneration rate was the highest under 50 ${\mu}$molm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ at 2$0^{\circ}C$. Under the conditions of different combinations of temperature (18, 22, 25, 28 and 1$^{\circ}C$) and irradiance (10, 20, 40, 60 and 100 ${\mu}$molm$^{-2}s$$^{-1}$) regimes, regeneration of excised erect branch was highly affected by temperature and irradiance. The highest regeneration occurred at 25 $^{\circ}C$ and 20 ${\mu}$molm$^{-2}s$$^{-1}$, whereas the highest growth in length (4.5${\pm}$1.0 cm) and fresh weight (1.2${\pm}$0.7 g) was attained after 15 days of culture.

Recently, the size of point cloud is increasing rapidly with the high advancement of 3D terrestrial laser scanners. The study aimed for improving a file-referring octree, introduced in the preceding study, which had been intended to generate an octree and to query points from a large point cloud, gathered by 3D terrestrial laser scanners. To the end, every leaf node of the octree was designed to store only one file-pointer of its first point. Also, the point cloud file was re-constructed to store points sequentially, which belongs to a same leaf node. An octree was generated from a point cloud, composed of about 300 million points, while time was measured during querying proximate points within a given distance with series of points. Consequently, the present method performed better than the preceding one from every aspect of generating, storing and restoring octree, so as querying points and memorizing usage. In fact, the query speed increased by 2 times, and the memory efficiency by 4 times. Therefore, this method has explicitly improved from the preceding one. It also can be concluded in that an octree can be generated, as points can be queried from a huge point cloud, of which larger than the main memory.
A nutrient solution culture experiment was conducted in the greenhouse of Suwon Campus, Kyung-Hee University from May 23 to July 11, 1994, to determine the effects of phosphorus application on seedling growth of Kwanganok and Hwengsungok cultivars of corn. Plants were harvested at weekly interval for seven weeks, at which time plant height, leaf area and dry matter yield of corn seedling were measured. The major results obtained are as follows. In without phosphorus pot, seedlings of Kwanganok and Hwengsungok cultivars have hardly been growing from planting to harvesting time. Plant height, leaf area and dry matter yield of both cultivars were increased more in the seedlings grown under complete treatment compared with the other phosphorus treatments. The total plant height, leaf area and dry matter yield during the whole period of Kwanganok and Hwengsungok cultivars were decreased in order of C>2P>3P>-P application pot. The crop growth rates of seedlings of both cultivars with in all treatments were slow until the 4th week after planting. Kwanganok with 2P and 3P treatment pot and C pot of Hwengsungok reached the maximum CGR at the 5th to 6th week after planting and showed declined CGR's thereafter, but Kwanganok C and Hwengsungok 2P treatment pots maintained a steady increase in CGR's until the end of the experiment period.

This study was conducted to evaluate growth characteristics, yield and feed value of newly bred domestic silage corn hybrids compared to foreign imported corn hybrid. Days to silking were $78{\sim}86$ days and longer than that of P3394 (Control). Kwangpyeongok, Cheonganok, and Cheongsaok were resistant to lodging. Such trait of stay-green of Kwanganok, Kwangpyeongok, Cheonganok, Cheongsaok, and Suwon159 was not different from that of P3394. Duruok, Kwangpyeongok, and Suwon159 were more resistant to Bipolaris maydis (southern corn leaf blight) than P3394. All of the silage corn hybrids were resistant to Exserohilum turcicum (northern corn leaf blight) and Smut. Ear ratios to total dry matter (%) of Cheonganok was similar to P3394. Ear lengths of domestic hybrids were similar or longer than that of P3394. Dry matter yield of domestic hybrids except Suwon19 and Jangdaok were similar to that of P3394. Total digestible nutrient (TDN) yields, Duruok, Kwangpyeongok, Cheonganok, and Cheongsaok were similar to P3394, but Kwanganok, Suwon19, Jangdaok and Suwon159 were lower than P3394. Acid detergent fiber(ADF), Suwon19 was lowest among all hybrids, and all hybrids except Suwon19 had values ranging from 44.7 to 49.0%, similarly with P3394. Neutral detergent fiber (NDF) values of the hybrids were similar to that of P3394, and ranged from 68.1 to 72.8%, except for Duruok which was lowest. Relative feed values (RFV) of Duruok, Kwangpyeongok, Cheonganok, Jangdaok, and Suwon159 had values ranging from 71.0 to 75.7 and were not significantly different from P3394. ADF was significantly negatively correlated with number of days to silking, number of days to maturity, and fresh matter yield, but was significantly positively correlated with resistance to corn borer. RFV showed a significantly positive correlations with no. of days to maturity and fresh matter yield, but significantly negative correlation with resistance to European corn borer. Therefore, indices for evaluation of feed value as well as production were important to select corn hybrids for silage. It is concluded that domestic hybrids tested in this study have high feed value as well as high production similar to those of imported corn hybrid.

This study was done to investigate the interplanting effects of corn, when a corn hybrid with tillers (IK derivaties) was interplanted with a corn hybrid without tillers(Jinjoo Ok). The interplanting ratios of two hybrids, IK and Jinjoo Ok, were 1 to 1, 1 to 2, 1 to 3, 2 to 1, and 3 to 1. The interp1anting effects were compared with monoculture for major agronomic characteristics. 1. The plant height was increased when interplanted regardless of the interplanting ratios of the two hybrids. The general growth of IK hybrid was a little hindered when the interplanting ratio of Jinjoo Ok hybrid increased. 2. The number of tillers produced by the IK hybrid increased until 40 days after emergence and appeared to increase as the interplanting ratio of IK hybrid increased. 3. When monocultured, the fresh weight of IK hybrid per 10a was 8,096kg and and 6,677kg at silking and dough stages, respectively and these were 77%, 53% over the fresh weight of Jinjoo Ok at the sarne stages. When IK and Jinjoo Ok hybrids were interplanted in 1 to 1 ratio, the fresh weight of IK was 20% higher than that of Jinjoo Ok monocultured. 4. The highest grain yield per 10a was obtained from the Jinjoo Ok hybrid monocultured and the yield was 434kg. Even the interplanting ratios between IK and Jinjoo Ok were 1 to 1 and 1 to 3, the grain yield of Jinjoo Ok was 16% and 13% over the IK, respectively. 5. Root and stalk lodging of IK hybrid was 29% when monocultured and seemed to increase as the interplanting ratio of Jinjoo Ok increased. The lowest lodging was found when the interplanting ratio of IK and Jinjoo Ok was 1 to 1. 6. Stem diameter of IK hybrid was also decreased as the interplanting ratio of Jinjoo Ok increased. The ear height of IK was lowered as the interplanting ratio of IK was increased. The two hybrids tested seemed to have tolerance to the black streaked dwarf virus(BSDV).

This study was carried out to compare growth characteristics and yield of silage corn hybrids at four different regions (Hwaseong, Dangjin, Gochang and Pyeongchang). Two domestic corn hybrids, 'Kwangpyeongok' and 'Gangdaok', and two imported corn hybrids, 'P3394' and '32P75' were used in this study. Plant height and ear height ratio were not significantly different among corn hybrids. 'Kwangpyeongok' was the strongest of all corn hybrids for lodging. The others except 'Kwangpyeongok' were similar to lodging. All corn hybrids were excellent to stay-green. Incidence of southern corn leaf blight (Bipolaris maydis) was low at all corn hybrids. '32P75' was 10.1%, the most of all corn hybrids for incidence of BSDV (black streaked dwarf virus). 'Kwangpyeongok' and 'Gangdaok' were stronger than '32P75' for BSDV. Fresh yield of 'Kwangpyeongok' and 'Gangdaok' were the most of all corn hybrids as 74.85 and 76.68 ton/ha and 'P3394' was the least of all corn hybrids as 64.97 ton/ha. Dry matter yield as 18.83~21.92ton/ha and TDN yield as 12.73~14.52 ton/ha were not significantly different among corn hybrids.
