Effects of the mobility on the PDA use of Mobile of office environments (모바일 오피스 환경에서 이동성(Mobility)이 PDA 활용에 미치는 영향)

  • Given the growing expectations on the value and application of mobile office, we need to understand the factors which affect its successful use and implementation. We in this paper present a parsimonious model which integrates the IS success model and the TAM. The main feature of the model is that it allows one to explore the role of mobility of mobile office systems in determining the level of system usage and dependence. Although mobility is the key property of any mobile system, there is little research effort exerted to understand how mobility affects the traditional IS factors such as perceived ease of use and usefulness. In addition to the system usage, this model also uses dependence as the dependent variable. This is expected to provide richer understanding of the study context. We collected survey data from 1,614 field service workers of a major domestic electronic company. They use PDAs to retrieve information regarding the specifics of the customer service requests and to report what has been done for each service job. The results from SEM analysis show that mobility improves the perceived ease of use which then leads the field service workers to depend more on the PDA systems. Interestingly enough, however, the workers’ satisfaction does not cause more frequent use of the system.

Evaluation on Usability of Space in Leed-Certified Office Building (친환경 인증 오피스 건축물의 공간 이용성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usability and satisfaction of space to which positive elements in Leed-Certified Office Building are applied. The study was conducted using the three-step approach. The first step was to understand the building and identify the issues which included the analysis of floor plans, documentations, and the interview with designers and facility managers. The second step was FGI(Focus Group Interviews), which were conducted with mixed employees of rank and location of workplace. Finally, a web-based questionnaire survey was conducted on the 319 executives and employees. Methods of analysis used were quantitative analysis of questionnaire, qualitative analysis of open ended free-answer, and FGI in the second step. Satisfaction, preference, and comfort level were studied using cross tab, co-relation, ANOVA for quantitative analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, lobby and atrium are representative elements that are functioning positively and it is recognized as sustainable spaces being utilized by users. Second, there are several dead spaces like green shaft, roof garden and sunken space although they can contribute to Leed-certification. Third, there are some problematic spaces such as the O.A. room and the urinals even though they contribute to the Leed-certification.

  • This Study, as a Eco-Friendly Design Process of Office for sustainable design, aims to develop a sustainable design process by letting the designers easily approach the concept of Eco-Friendly Design Process and applying this to Eco-Friendly Design Process when the designers perform design. Through a review on simulation, a research was made on the seriousness of environmental problems and control that was caused by design, Environmentally friendly design, sustainability, and sustainable design's background and definition were studied. In order to develop a Eco-Friendly Design Process, an existing review from Building Energy Simulation that proposed about energy environmentally friendly design element and sustainable design element's semantic similarities were restructured as sustainable design element comparative analysis. Restructured sustainable design elements and the relationship between sustainable design elements and the relationship of each product developmental process levels were analyzed. Finally, through clustering, sustainable design guideline were developed. This Eco-Friendly Design Process is expected to be applied to as one of the methods in solving the global environmental issues in design practice.

SmartPhone Recording System for Mobile Office Environment (모바일 오피스 환경을 위한 스마트폰 레코딩 시스템)

  • Recently, in spite of fast development of smartphone, recording technology has saved, listened and searched in server based on PSTN and wired network. We introduce a mobile transcript recording system for mobile office environment. All calls using smartphone are automatically saved on memory in mobile device with this system. Thereafter, recording files are encrypted and uploaded to recording server by user authority. Beside recording data in database on web server is saved and managed efficiently and economically through web application. This system is able to be used in legal corroborative facts and the prevention of crime such as voice phishing.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present Smart Virtual TRS(Trunked Radio System) service that gives the TRS function in mobile network with smart phone application and server. TRS is essential equipment of logistics vehicle so, most of trunk drivers uses TRS frequently. Developed service is based on smartphone without TRS equipment. Therefore, Smart virtual TRS included in TMS(Transportation Management System) has some effects for logistics company. i) Smart Virtual TRS gives better communication environment between office and drivers. ii) Smartphone App gives flexibility to TMS functions. iii) Smart Virtual TRS gives cost reduction effect.

  • 고도화된 정보통신의 확산으로 인해 인터넷(internet)을 통한 지역간의 거리를 극복 한 전자상거래가 점점 발달하고 있으며 이에 따른 시장의 잠재성 또한 커지고 있다. 그러나 현재 구축된 인터넷 쇼핑몰도 그 규모나 숫자에 비해서 매출액은 아직 높은 편이 아니다. 이에 대한 많은 이유가 있겠지만 가장 큰 이유중의 하나가 구매자 수의 부족을 들을 수 있 다. 이에 본 연구에서는 인터넷 쇼핑몰에 방문한 고객이 기꺼이 구매할 수 있는 환경을 제 공해 주기 위해 '지능형 메타몰(Intelligent Meta-Mall)'을 제안하고, 인터넷 쇼핑몰 중에서 사용자가 직접 마주치는 부분인 프론트 오피스(Front Office) 부분에서 제공되어야 하는 기 능 37가지를 제안하였다. 그리고 이들 기능을 일반관리 기능 및 소비자 구매과정 모형에 따 라 분류한 후, 현재 국내에서 운영되고 있는 쇼핑 몰의 웹마스터에게 설문조사를 실시함으 로써 상대적으로 중요한 기능과 불필요한 기능들을 파악하였다. 상대적으로 중요한 기능은 (1) One-stop Shopping 기능, (2) 비교쇼핑기능, (3) 단어(keyword) 탐색 기능, (4) 보안 모니터링 기능, (5) 부도 보증 기능, (6) 반품 관리 기능, (7) 속달 기능, (8) One-stop Payment 등으로 조사되었다. 상대적으로 불필요한 기능은 (1) 경매제품 탐색 기능, (2) 인 터페이스 수정 기능, (3) 사이버 머니 제공 기능, (4) 신원확인 기능, (5) No Blank 페이지 제공 기능, (6) 기본 사양 여과(filtering) 기능, (7) 다국어 지원 기능, (8) 보안 모니터링 기 능 등으로 조사되었다.

  • Ubiquitous computing supports environment to freely connect to network without restrictions of place and time. This environment enables easy access and sharing of information, but because of easy unauthorized accesses, specified security policy is needed. Especially, ubiquitous sensor network devices use limited power and are small in size, so, many restrictions on policies are bound to happen. This paper proposes double-key based light weight security protocol, independent to specific sensor OS, platform and routing protocol in ubiquitous sensor network. The proposed protocol supports safe symmetric key distribution, and allows security manager to change and manage security levels and keys. This had a strong merit by which small process can make large security measures. In the performance evaluation, the proposed light weight security protocol using double-key in ubiquitous sensor network allows relatively efficient low power security policy. It will be efficient to ubiquitous sensor network, such as smart of ace and smart home.

Evaluation of Thermal and Visual Environment for the Glazing and Shading Device in an Office Building with Installed of Venetian Blind (베네시안 블라인드가 적용된 오피스 건물의 외피 투과체 계획을 위한 열·빛 환경 평가에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: Glazing and shading devices influence a lot on the thermal and visual environment in office buildings. Solar heat and daylight are contrary concept, therefore proper arrangement of thermal and optical performance is needed when designing a glazing and shading devices. The purpose of this study is to examine the conditions of the glazing and shading devices available for promoting the reduction of cooling loads + lighting loads and the improvement in thermal comfort and visual comfort for the summer season in an office building installed with venetian blind. Method: This study established 12 simulation cases which have different glazings and the positions of venetian blind for evaluating different thermal and optical performance. And by using EnergyPlus v8.1 and Window v7.2 program, we quantitatively analyzed cooling loads + lighting loads, thermal comfort and visual comfort in an office building installed with the glazing and shading devices. Result: Consequently, Case 9(Double Low-E+Exterior Blind) is the best arrangement of solar heat gain and daylight influx, thereby becomes the most excellent case of reducing cooling+lighting loads(46.8%) and simultaneously becomes the enhancement case in thermal comfort. Also, DGI(Daylight glare index) under clear sky conditions in summer was evaluated to be 19.6, and thereby satisfied the recommendation level of allowing visual comfort.

  • Recently, the interest in a Mobile Office is increasing dramatically and the Smart Phone App Service begin in earnest to be requested in an area of applying SAP system to PC. This study aims to research the system which can be easily implemented with the configuration and Mobile App which cause difficulties in embodying SAP system-based Apps suitable for a mobile environment. First, by realizing SAP system interface that can operate in mobile devices in the form of GUI, assisting the connecting parts of SAP for the users-friendly set-up, providing the communication method of Client, Application, and SAP Service in the form of web service through TCP/IP, and finally showing cases of implementing the method of delivering the data request and result value of Server and Client in the form of XML suggest more effective and new method, the research suggests a new way of making the linkage of SAP more efficient.
