Physical Properties of Reticulated Polyurethane Foams and the Enhancement of Microbial Adhesion through their Surface Treatments (망상 폴리우레탄 폼의 물성 및 표면처리를 통한 미생물 고정화 특성의 향상)

  • We first investigated basic characteristics of reticulated polyurethane (PU) foams as microbial carriers. In general, the specific surface area of PU foams increases with respect to decreasing pore sizes. However, the number of microbes adhered on the unit surface of reticulated PU foams decreases with respect to decreasing pore sizes. Thus, as a result of totally considering all effects such as apparent density, hydrolysis rate, and adhesion, we can know that PU foams with 45 PPI is the most appropriate microbial carrier. In this study, we can also investigate the effect of various physico-chemical surface treatments on the adhesion of microbes on the surface of PU foams. We used a chitosan treatment, a PEI (Polyethylene Imine) treatment, a xanthane treatment and a plasma treatment. As a result of comparing all surface treatments, the plasma surface treatment was the best.

A Study on the Field Data Applicability of Seismic Data Processing using Open-source Software (Madagascar) (오픈-소스 자료처리 기술개발 소프트웨어(Madagascar)를 이용한 탄성파 현장자료 전산처리 적용성 연구)

  • We performed the seismic field data processing using an open-source software (Madagascar) to verify if it is applicable to processing of field data, which has low signal-to-noise ratio and high uncertainties in velocities. The Madagascar, based on Python, is usually supposed to be better in the development of processing technologies due to its capabilities of multidimensional data analysis and reproducibility. However, this open-source software has not been widely used so far for field data processing because of complicated interfaces and data structure system. To verify the effectiveness of the Madagascar software on field data, we applied it to a typical seismic data processing flow including data loading, geometry build-up, F-K filter, predictive deconvolution, velocity analysis, normal moveout correction, stack, and migration. The field data for the test were acquired in Gunsan Basin, Yellow Sea using a streamer consisting of 480 channels and 4 arrays of air-guns. The results at all processing step are compared with those processed with Landmark's ProMAX (SeisSpace R5000) which is a commercial processing software. Madagascar shows relatively high efficiencies in data IO and management as well as reproducibility. Additionally, it shows quick and exact calculations in some automated procedures such as stacking velocity analysis. There were no remarkable differences in the results after applying the signal enhancement flows of both software. For the deeper part of the substructure image, however, the commercial software shows better results than the open-source software. This is simply because the commercial software has various flows for de-multiple and provides interactive processing environments for delicate processing works compared to Madagascar. Considering that many researchers around the world are developing various data processing algorithms for Madagascar, we can expect that the open-source software such as Madagascar can be widely used for commercial-level processing with the strength of expandability, cost effectiveness and reproducibility.

  • 인터넷 이용의 증가와 정보통신의 비약적 발전으로 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스에 대한 사용자의 욕구가 증가하고 있다. 이러한 시장의 수요증가에 따라 다양한 멀티미디어 게임과 다양한 영상 컨텐츠에 대한 개발이 진행되고 있다. 특히 영상 스트리밍 시스템은 영상을 실시간으로 사용자에게 제공할 수 있는 시스템으로 사용자의 편의성과 네트워크 성능의 향상등으로 인해 각광을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기존 영상 스트리밍 시스템에 3D영상을 제공할 수 있는 MPEG-4기반의 입체영상 스트리밍 시스템을 구현하였다. 이 시스템은 3D 입체영상 서비스를 제공하기 위해 서버 측에는 좌우측에서 본2개의 영상을 합쳐서 전송하도록 하였으며 클라이언트측에서는 각 좌우측의 영상을 구별하여 3D 영상모니터에 표시함으로써 3D입체영상을 구현하였다. 본 논문에서는 애플사의 오픈소스인 다윈 스트리밍 서버와 자바의 JMF(Java Media Framework)를 이용해 RTP/RTSP 기반으로 3D 입체 영상을 실시간 재생되도록 구현하였다.

  • We implemented an application system which is able to verify visitor identification for remote bundle control based on OSGi and web camera control using embedded linux system. This system are designed open Oscar framework by porting java on the embedded linux system and implemented web camera system in local area networks. Also This system can verify information of visitor from receiving the data of RFID reader and designed the wireless internet system in home. Basically, in this paper we expect that home network system development and the period of application service development are reduced with integrated service provision based on OSGi.

  • The appearance of various portal web sites that have individual customers, customizing information operate importantly upon a content. But most current portal sites that has a goal for international electronic commerce use information for customer to a simply individual profile and don't create more and new information that customizing. In this paper, we propose a system that generates a new customizing information with classification and analysis in detail and provides automatically to individual customers. The goal of our research is the development of personalizing auto generation agent that composed form of e-mail from preference of each individual user using open rate and mouse event Information for e-mail.

  • Linux has peculiarities of safety, flexibility, and open source. and Linux supports various hardware platforms. But because general Linux was designed for high performance H/W, Linux has several points to support for embedded system with limited resource. Specially, a main point is booting time that is spent to tens of second. In this paper, we purpose a fast booting scheme of Linux for Embedded System and estimate a performance of scheme purposed through realized prototype. Specially, to reduce booting time in environment of embedded system, we optimize boot loader, kernel and root file system. As a result, boot time reduce 28 second to 11 second in HBE-EMPOS II.

  • As the performance of recent mobile systems increases, a vector graphic has been implemented to represent various types of dynamic menus, mails, and two-dimensional maps. This paper proposes a hardware accelerator for open vector graphics (OpenVG), which is widely used for two-dimensional vector graphics. We analyze the specifications of an OpenVG and divide the OpenVG into several functions suitable for hardware implementation. The proposed hardware accelerator is implemented on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) board using hardware description language (HDL) and is about four times faster than an Alex processor.

  • 본 논문에서는 사전자원에 기반한 한국어 워드넷(Open Korean WordNet: KWN)의 반자동 구축 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 각 전문분야별로 분류된 영어-한국어 대역사전, 일본어-한국어 대역사전을 이용하여 영어 워드넷(Princeton WordNet 3.0)과 일본어 워드넷(Japanese WordNet 1.1)의 어휘를 번역하였다. 그리고 번역 결과의 애매성을 해소하기 위하여, (1)영어와 일본어에 대한 한국어 대역어의 중복 여부, (2)사전의 분야 정보와 워드넷의 계층구조를 고려하였다. 제안한 방법으로 117,659 개의 워드넷 synset 중 63,221 개(약 54 %)의 synset에 대한 자동번역을 수행하여 한국어 워드넷을 구축하였다. 그리고 워드넷 synset의 정의문은 한국어 사전의 정의문을 참조하여 한글화 할 수 있도록 하고, 이 과정을 지원하기 위한 정의문 추천 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에 기반하여 전문가들이 상호 협력하여 한국어 워드넷을 구축할 수 있는 시스템을 개발한다.
