Performance Analysis of Three-Dimensional Radar for Angle and Distance Errors (3차원 레이다 궤적 생성 및 성능 분석)

  • In radar systems, information of three-dimensional (3D) trajectory is necessary for tracking targets. The information of 3D trajectory for a 3D radar can be obtained by estimating the azimuth angle, the elevation angle, and the distance. The estimated information of the angles and the distance has errors according to received signals. Since these errors affect performances of 3D radar systems, performance analysis of 3D radar for the angles and the distance errors is required. In this paper, the performance of 3D radar systems is analyzed by root mean square error (RMSE) between true trajectory information and the estimated trajectory information according to the angles and the distance errors.

A Study on Inaccuracy in Urban Railway Ridership Estimation (도시철도 교통량 추정의 오차발생 요인 연구)

  • This paper analyzes the forecasting errors of traffic volumes by comparing forecasted volumes for the opening year with the observed ones in the years after the urban railway construction in the metropolitan areas. The result shows that the average inaccuracy of traffic volumes for each station was estimated at around 7.27. Based on the confirmed factors of demand estimation errors, this study seeks for an alternative method to reduce estimation errors in feasibility studies. It is noted that there is a tendency that the inaccuracy varies by regions and the longer construction period or the shorter station spacing is, the overestimation increases. If urban railway projects are proceeded as planed, therefore, the level of the inaccuracy for traffic volume forecast will be decreased. In addition, thanks to the theoretical progress, recent estimation results show higher accuracy than before. In that sense, when we introduce the new railway line, it is necessary to make an accurate and realistic demand forecast based on actual outcomes and tendency of the previous estimation. The limitation of our study is that we only cover the errors of the initial period, the opening year and deal with the exogenous variables. Further research including other variables which might be considered to cause overestimation or errors would be needed for increasing the estimation accuracy of traffic volumes.

Estimation of Forest Volumes in the Ecosystem Region Using Spatial Statistical Techniques (공간통계기법을 이용한 생태계 관리지역의 산림축적 추정)

  • This study aims to estimate the forest volumes of the upper region of Nam-Han River in ecosystem zoning by forest types and age classes, and to suggest the optimal estimation method through the comparison of the standard errors according to the spatial unit. In the estimation of forest volumes, we used both of direct estimation, which uses sample plots of the target area only, and synthetic estimation, which includes sample plots of the expanded areas as well as those of the target area. As for the spatial expansion, we applied four standards for synthetic estimator: Mountainous zone, Neighbor ecosystem region, Gangwon province, and Buffer zone. The results show that average forest volume per ha, calculated by direct estimation, was $143.5m^3/ha$, while that by synthetic estimation with each standard, was estimated at $146.9m^3/ha$ by Gangwon province, $144.8m^3/ha$ by Buffer zone, $139.8m^3/ha$ by Neighbor ecosystem region, and $138.6m^3/ha$ by Mountainous zone, respectively. The standard errors of direct estimation was $1.79m^3/ha$, while those of synthetic estimation showed not a great difference among the errors. Meanwhile, considering the standard errors by forest type, the lowest was ${\pm}2.3m^3/ha$ of broad-leaved forest, followed by ${\pm}3.3m^3/ha$ of mixed forest, and ${\pm}4.8m^3/ha$ of coniferous forest.

A Parallel Equalization Algorithm with Weighted Updating by Two Error Estimation Functions (두 오차 추정 함수에 의해 가중 갱신되는 병렬 등화 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, to eliminate intersymbol interference of the received signal due to multipath propagation, a parallel equalization algorithm using two error estimation functions is proposed. In the proposed algorithm, multilevel two-dimensional signals are considered as equivalent binary signals, then error signals are estimated using the sigmoid nonlinearity effective at the initial phase equalization and threshold nonlinearity with high steady-state performance. The two errors are scaled by a weight depending on the relative accuracy of the two error estimations, then two filters are updated differentially. As a result, the combined output of two filters was to be the optimum value, fast convergence at initial stage of equalization and low steady-state error level were achieved at the same time thanks to the combining effect of two operation modes smoothly. Usefulness of the proposed algorithm was verified and compared with the conventional method through computer simulations.

  • In order to estimate accurate position by GPS observations, it is prerequisite to define both of the correct function model and the realistic stochastic model. In the case that un-modeled outliers exist in observations, estimates become biased, and their standard deviations are unable to be used as a measure which represents their accuracy. Hence, such outliers should be appropriately removed from the observations before estimating final solutions, so that the accuracy can be maximized with the improvement of the reliability. For this purpose, this research deals with quality control and quality measure computation algorithms for GPS stand-alone positioning. After theoretical studies, all the algorithms have been implemented and tested with real observations. Results of the tests indicate that the reliability of the estimated position is improved by increasing redundancy as well as using good satellite geometry and more realistic stochastic model. Moreover, the adaptation of the quality control procedure enable to improve positioning reliability and accuracy by appropriately excluding outlier in observations.

양쪽 절단된 정규분포의 평균과 분산의 추정

  • 절단된 정규분포의 평균과 분산을 추정하기 위하여 전체 표본에 기초한 최대가능도 추정량을 사용한 방법과 절단된 후에 남아있는 표본만을 고려한 절단된 표본의 표본평균과 표본분산을 시뮬레이션을 통해 비교 연구하였다. 평균을 추정하는 경우에는 놀랍게도 절단된 자료에 기초한 추정량이 전체 표본에 기초한 추정량보다 평균제곱오차가 더 작다는 것을 발견하였다.

이원배치모형에서 급내상관계수의 추정

  • 이원배치모형에서 급내상관계수에 대한 점 추정문제가 고려된다. 급내 상관계수에 대한 여러 가지 점추정량의 종류를 살펴보고 추정량의 평균자승오차(MSE)과 절대편의를 모의 실험을 통하여 서로 비교하여 본다. 결론적으로 이원배치모형에서의 급내 상관계수는 추정량의 종류에 큰 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 따라서 계산량이 다른 추정량들에 비하여 적은 헨더슨의 방법 $\textrm{III}$ 추정량을 사용하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 판명되었다.

  • 이 논문의 목적은 비모수 회귀모형에 있어서의 오차의 분산을 추정하는 방법들 중 차분에 기저한 방법 (difference-based methods)을 이용한 기존의 추정량들을 비교 분석하는데 있다. 특히 점근적인 최적 이차 차분에 기저한 Hall과 Kay, Titterington(1990)의 HKT 추정량에 대한 그들의 추정량에 대한 문제점들을 제시하고, HKT추정량과, GSJS추정량, Rice추정량에 대하여 모의 실험을 이용하여 모수에 대한 수렴 속도를 비교 분석 하였다. 또한 GSJS 추정량에 대한 일치성과 수렴 속도를 보였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 전류적산법을 이용한 배터리 SOC 추정에 있어 오차를 발생시키는 원인들에 대한 이론적인 분석을 통하여 주요 인자들 중 전류센서, 스케일 변환회로, ADC에서 발생 가능한 오차 발생 요인을 고려한다. 그리고 오차를 반영한 시뮬레이션으로 BMS모델을 구현하여 실제 실험과의 정확성을 판단하고, 오차 발생 비중을 규명한다.

  • 본 논문은 영구자석 교류 전동기의 센서리스 위치 오차 최소화 제어 방법에 관한 것으로, 회전자의 위치오차가 최소화 하도록 회전자 속도 추정 gain을 자동으로 조정함으로써 회전자의 속도 및 위치에 대한 오차를 최소화하기 위한 방법이다. 본 논문의 구성은 회전자 위치 오차를 최소화하기 위한 제어기와 이를 회전자 속도 게인으로 활용하는 적용 대상으로 구성 되어 있다. 이는 모터의 온도 및 운전 환경에 따른 parameter의 변동에 강인하도록 제어기의 게인을 자동 설정하며 회전자의 오차를 최소화 하도록 하는 제어기를 제안한다. 또한 본 논문에서 제한하는 알고리즘을 검증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션 하였다.
