  • 비대면 활동 및 원격 작업 증가에 따라 문서 파일을 이용한 사이버 공격 빈도가 증가하고 있으며, 별도의 실행 파일 대신 문서 내의 기본적인 기능을 악용하는 문서 공격은 기존의 악성코드 탐지 메커니즘을 우회할 수 있기 때문에 큰 문제가 되고 있다. 이러한 문제에 대응하기 위한 여러 기술 중 CDR 기술은 악성 행위에 이용될 가능성이 있는 액티브 콘텐츠를 제거하거나 비활성화하여 사전에 악성코드로 탐지되지 않았던 파일에 대한 보안성을 제공하지만, 문서의 내용을 분석하고 안전하게 재조합하는 과정에서 오류가 발생하여 전달하고자 했던 내용을 제대로 표현할 수 없게 되거나, 파일을 사용할 수 없게 되는 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 파일을 후처리하는 방식으로만 CDR을 적용하는 것이 아니라, 확장 프로그램이나 가상 환경 등을 이용해 문서의 작성 단계에서부터 CDR 처리과정을 거치게 하는 방법을 제안하여 파일 손상이나 내용 누락 문제를 완화하고 사용자의 업무 효율을 높이는 동시에 강화된 보안성을 제공한다.

Iris Feature Extraction using Independent Component Analysis (독립 성분 분석 방법을 이용한 홍채 특징 추출)

  • In a conventional method based on quadrature 2D Gator wavelets to extract iris features, the iris recognition is performed by a 256-byte iris code, which is computed by applying the Gabor wavelets to a given area of the iris. However, there is a code redundancy because the iris code is generated by basis functions without considering the characteristics of the iris texture. Therefore, the size of the iris code is increased unnecessarily. In this paper, we propose a new feature extraction algorithm based on the ICA (Independent Component Analysis) for a compact iris code. We implemented the ICA to generate optimal basis functions which could represent iris signals efficiently. In practice the coefficients of the ICA expansions are used as feature vectors. Then iris feature vectors are encoded into the iris code for storing and comparing an individual's iris patterns. Additionally, we introduce two methods to enhance the recognition performance of the ICA. The first is to reorganize the ICA bases and the second is to use a different ICA bases set. Experimental results show that our proposed method has a similar EER (Equal Error Rate) as a conventional method based on the Gator wavelets, and the iris code size of our proposed methods is four times smaller than that of the Gabor wavelets.

Low Power Turbo Decoder Design Techniques Using Two Stopping Criteria (이중 정지 기준을 사용한 저 전력 터보 디코더 설계 기술)

  • Turbo codes, whose performance in bit error rate is close to the Shannon limit, have been adopted as a part of standard for the third-generation high-speed wireless data services. Iterative Turbo decoding results in decoding delay and high power consumption. As wireless communication systems can only use limited power supply, low power design techniques are essential for mobile device implementation. This paper proposes new effective criteria for stopping the iteration process in turbo decoding to reduce power consumption. By setting two stopping criteria, decodable threshold and undecodable threshold, we can effectively reduce the number of decoding iterations with only negligible error-correcting performance degradation. Simulation results show that the number of unsuccessful error-correction can be reduced by 89% and the number of decoding iterations can be reduced by 29% on the average among 12500 simulations when compared with those of an existing typical method.

  • In the monitoring system based on web service application, it is faced with the problems like code reproduction, difficult scalability and error recovery derived from the frequent change of data structure. So we propose a technique of monitoring system by DTD(Document Type Definition) automatic generation. This technique is to use dynamic server-side script to cope with the change of sensor data structure, generate the DTD dynamically. An it also adapt the AJAX(Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) for XML data parsing, it can support mass data transmission and exception processing for data loss and damage. This technique shows the result of recovery time is decreased about 44.8ms in case of temporary data failure by comparing to the conventional XML method.

SEU Mitigation Strategy and Analysis on the Mass Memory of the STSAT-3 (과학기술위성 3호 대용량 메모리에서의 SEU 극복 및 확률 해석)

  • When memory devices are exposed to a space environment. they suffer various effects such as SEU(Single Event Upset). For these reasons, memory systems for space applications are generally equipped with error detection and correction(EDAC) logics against SEUs. In this paper, the error detection and correction strategy in the Mass Memory Unit(MMU) of the STSAT-3 is discussed. The probability equation of un-recoverable SEUs in the mass memory system is derived when the whole memory is encoded and decoded by the RS(10,8) Reed-Solomon code. Also the probability value is analyzed for various occurrence rates of SEUs which the STSAT-3 possibly suffers. The analyzed results can be used to determine the period of scrubbing the whole memory, which is one of the important parameters in the design of the MMU.

  • Polar codes are the first provable error correcting code achieving the symmetric channel capacity in a wide case of binary input discrete memoryless channel(BI-DMC). However, finite length polar codes have an error floor problem with successive-cancellation list(SCL) decoder. From previous works, we can solve this problem by concatenating CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) codes. In this paper we propose to make polar codes having extended-minimum distance from original polar codes without outer codes using correlation with generate matrix of polar codes and that of RM(Reed-Muller) codes. And we compare performance of proposed polar codes with that of polar codes concatenating CRC codes.

Frequency-Scanning Type Microwave Tag System Using Defected Ground Structures (결함 접지 구조를 이용한 주파수 스캐닝 방식의 마이크로파 태그 시스템)

  • In this paper, a microwave tag system of a frequency-scanning type is proposed with multi-resonators using defected ground structures. While a conventional chip-based RFID stores time-sequential codes, the proposed type achieves pure passive tags by using multi-resonant bits over a frequency range. Moreover, the resonators of the spiral defected ground structures implemented on the back side of transmission lines have advantages of the excellent bandstop characteristics as well as the bit-error avoidance by the re-radiation on normal resonators. The proposed microwave tag is designed with UWB antennas at 3~7 GHz. From the experimental results in an anechoic chamber, it has been verified of the excellent recognitions for various 5-bits identification codes.

Performance Analysis of Block Turbo Coded OFDM System Using Channel State Information (채널상태정보를 이용하는 블록터보 부호화된 OFDM 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, the new decoding algorithm of Block Turbo Codes using Channel State Information(CSI), which is estimated to compensate for the distorted signal caused by multi-path fading, is proposed in order to improve error correction capacity during decoding procedure in OFDM system. The performance of the new decoding algorithm is compared to that of the conventional decoding algorithm without using channel state information under the Rayleigh fading channel. Experimental results showed that in case of only one iteration coding gains of up to 5.0dB~9.0dB can be obtained by applying the channel state information to the conventional decoding algorithm according to the modulation methods. In addition to that, the new decoding algorithm using channel state information at only one iteration shows a performance improvement of 3.5dB to 5.0dB when compared to the conventional decoding algorithm after four iterations. This leads to reduce the considerable amount of computation.

Implementation of PDF417 Two-Dimensional Barcode Decoder (PDF417 이차원 바코드 디코더의 구현)

  • In this paper we present a barcode reader to decode two-dimensional symbology PDF417 and propose a novel method to extract the bar-space Patterns directly from the gray-level barcode image, which employs the location and the distance between extreme points of each row or column of the barcode image. This algerian proves to be very robust from the high convolutional distortion environments such as defocussing and warping, even under badly illuminating condition. If the scanned barcode image is a result of the convolution of a Gaussian-shaped point spread function with a hi-level image, popular image segmentation methods such as image thresholding can not distinguish between very narrow bar-space patterns. The Proposed algorithm shows improved Performance over current barcode readers.

Decision Feedback Equalizer Based on LDPC Code for Fast Processing and Performance Improvement (고속 처리와 성능 향상을 위한 LDPC 코드 기반 결정 궤환 등화기)

  • In this paper, we propose a decision feedback equalizer based on LDPC(Low Density Parity Check) code for the fast processing and performance improvement in OFDM system. LDPC code has good error correcting capability and its performance approaches the Shannon capacity limit. However, it has longer parity check matrix and needs more iteration numbers. In our proposed system, MSE(Mean Square Error) of signal between decision device and decoder is fed back to equalizer. This proposed system can improve BER performance because it corrects estimated channel response more accurately. In addition, the proposed system can reduce complexity because it has a lower number of iterations than system without feedback at the same performance. Simulation results evaluate and show the performance of OFDM system with the CFO and phase noise in multipath channel.
