The purpose of this study was to bring together evidence of the operation and impact of legislation to prohibit age discrimination in those countries that have such laws. We identified 5 countries with extensive age discrimination legislation: the US, Canada, Australia, Finland and Republic of Ireland. The objectives and cultural context of age discrimination lesgislation, which plays a large part in each country determining what type of lesgislation is deemed to be appropriate. The effeciveness or impact of the legislation, in terms of progress towards these objectives. Some key issues where choices of emphasis will need to be made in the introduction of new legislation to reduce age discrimination.

In proteomics research, the identification of differentially expressed proteins observed under specific conditions is one of key issues. There are several ways to detect the change of a specific protein's expression level such as statistical analysis and graphical visualization. However, it is quiet difficult to handle the spot information of an individual protein manually by these methods, because there are a considerable number of proteins in a tissue sample. In this paper, using database and data mining techniques, the application plan of OLAP data cube and Discovery-driven exploration is proposed. By using data cubes, it is possible to analyze the relationship between proteins and relevant clinical information as well as analyzing the differentially expressed proteins by disease. We propose the measure and exception indicators which are suitable to analyzing protein expression level changes are proposed. In addition, we proposed the reducing method of calculating InExp in Discovery-driven exploration. We also evaluate the utility and effectiveness of the data cube and Discovery-driven exploration in the lung cancer 2-DE gel image.

POSCO has been chosen as the most competitive steelmaker in the world, for the 4th year in a row. It's potentials and key success points lay at technology innovation as well as effective partnerships with suppliers and customers. Partnership with suppliers is based upon the effective supply chain management. While ERP system supports the standard business work flows, the biggest impact on business performance is created by exceptions and variability. A SCM Advanced Planning System reduces the amount of exceptional situations, helping to keep business in a standard mode of operation. A case summary on SCM Advanced Planning System of POSCO as well as its impact on firm performances is presented. As a supplement to this case study, we also investigate the employees' perceived level of SCM-related factors, including information sharing, collaboration, incentive system for suppliers and their impacts on SCM performances. As a conclusion, the practical implications of these findings are discussed.

The study aims to discuss on legal prospects of digital collections' fair use through an analysis of treaties and legislations domestic and international. Based on analysis of leading researches and literature, it discusses legal principles of fair use and defines digital collections' concept and types. For understanding the actual legal system on fair use, limitations and exceptions of copyrights which are presented in treaties, such as 'Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works' and'Copyright Convention', each nation's laws, and judicial precedents. Especially, a legal dispute between 'Technische $Universit{\ddot{a}}t$ Darmstadt' and Eugen Ulmer KG, which debates on library's rights for digitizing their collections without the rightholder's permission, is analyzed. As a result, this study analyzes its implications for the improvement of the existing copyright system in Korea.

컨조인트 분석기법은 Marketing 분야에서 주로 많이 쓰여온 분석 방법으로서 제품의 중요한 속성들을 찾아내어 다양한 종류의 제품들에 대한 고객의 선호도를 분석하는 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 컨조인트 분석기법을 이용하여 의자의 물리적 적합도를 분석, 평가하여 사용자가 적합하다고 느끼는 최적의 의자를 밝히는데 목적을 두었다. 안정성, 여유성, 인체적합성, 안락성등 4개의 적합도 요소를 종속변수로 선택하고 의자 자체의 설계 요소에 해당하는 휴먼인테페이스 요소(HIE) 중 높이 조절 기능, 팔걸이, 등판길이의 3가지 속성을 독립변수로 사용하였다. 분석에 사용된 의자는 각 속성을 특징적으로 대표하는 8개의 의자들로서 구성되었다. 분석의 결과 네 가지의 적합성에 공통성적으로 가장 큰 영향을 주는 속성은 (남자 안정성은 예외) 등판길이로서 남자와 여자 모두 등판길이가 높을 때 안정적이며 안락하고 인체적합하며 여유성이 있다고 느낀다는 결과가 나왔다. 적합도의 네가지 항목 모두에서 공통적으로 등판길이가 높고 팔걸이가 있는 경우에 평가가 높게 나타났으며, 안정성의 경우에는 남·녀 모두 높이조절 기능이 없는 고정형을 더 높게 평가하는 것으로 나타났다.

본 시스템은 한글 발음 교육 사이트 개발 프로젝트의 일부인 음가 생성에 관한 컴포넌트로써 한국어 표준발음 테이블에서 음운 변동값을 추출하고 해당 음성과 입모양을 출력하는 WWW상의 자바 애플릿 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구이다. 본 논문에서는 형태소 분석에 선행되어야 할 전처리 과정, 예외처리, 음가 생성부에서 고려하여야할 점과, 시스템의 애플릿 구현 등에 대해 중점적으로 기술하였다.

최근의 생명공학기술(Biotechnology, BT)은 정보통신기술(Information Technology, IT)을 떼고 생각할 수 없을 정도로 IT는 BT에 있어서 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. BT에서 가장 중요한 전통적 툴 중 하나인 현미경도 그 예외가 아니다. 기존의 샘플을 눈으로만 관찰하는 단순 현미경이 아니라, 여러 생명 현상들을 생체 내에서 추적하고 실시간 분석을 해주는 첨단 현미경기술에서의 IT는 그 역할을 점점 더 강화하고 있다. 이 글에서는 생체현미경기술(Intravital Microscopy)에서 문제점을 극복하는 데 IT 기술이 어떻게 사용되고 있는지 살펴보기로 한다.

최근 들어 세계적으로 선복량의 급격한 증가로 인해 해기사의 수가 매우 부족한 실정이다. 해운선진국들은 해기사 확보를 위해 국가별 고유한 정책을 세우고 이에 대응하고 있다. 우리나라도 예외는 아니어서 해운선사별로 양질의 해기사수급을 위해 적극 노력하고 있지만 만족할 만한 성과는 거두지 못하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 현재 해운선사 및 해기교육기관에서 진행되고 있는 교육내용을 살펴보고 아울러 사이버 해기교육기관 설립을 위한 기초적 조사분석을 실시하였다.
