Pacman Game Using Skin Color Extraction and Center of Gravity of Hand (손의 피부색 추출과 무게중심을 이용한 팩맨 게임)

  • Pacman is one of the world-famous and have been chosen game in the game room at the arcade. In this paper, pacman game gives you the ability to perform by simple hand movement alone. First, we obtain binary RGB image to extract skin color, and convert into binary image YCbCr by minus the luminance in this image. Next, we extract the hand region by the product of an binary RGB image and binary YCbCr image. Finally, the hand region, we obtain the center of gravity by the minimum bounding rectangle and the center of the hand pixel area, and we used to obtain the center of the hand area with an average of two center of gravity. In other words, we presented the game of motion that can take the place of arrow key by using the center coordinates of hand. In addition, these experiments showed the average movement and error rate, and cause of the error type was also investigated.

  • Recently, use of various position base servicesthat collect position information for moving object and utilize in real life is increasing by the development of wireless network technology. Accordingly, new index structures are required to efficiently retrieve the consecutive positions of moving objects. This paper addresses an improved trajectory split algorithm for the purpose of efficiently supporting spatio-temporal range queries using index structures that use Minimum Bounding Rectangles(MBR) as trajectory approximations. We consider volume of Extended Minimum Bounding Rectangles (EMBR) to be determined by average size of range queries. Also, Use a priority queue to speed up our process. This algorithm gives in general sub-optimal solutions with respect to search space. Our improved trajectory split algorithm is going to derive minimizing volume of EMBRs better than previously proposed split algorithm.

Development of a Detection and Recognition System for Rectangular Marker (사각형 마커 검출 및 인식 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, we present a method for the detection and recognition of rectangular markers from a camera image. It converts the camera image to a binary image and extracts contours of objects in the binary image. After that. it approximates the contours to a list of line segments. It finds rectangular markers by using geometrical features which are extracted from the approximated line segments. It normalizes the shape of extracted markers into exact squares by using the warping technique. It extracts feature vectors from marker image by using principal component analysis. It then calculates the distance between feature vector of input marker image and those of standard markers. Finally, it recognizes the marker by using minimum distance method. Experimental results show that the Proposed method achieves 98% recognition rate at maximum for 50 markers and execution speed of 11.1 frames/sec for images which contains eleven markers.

  • 뇌 MR 영상에서 질환을 자동적으로 진단하고 판별하는 작업은 정상인의 뇌 영상과의 비교를 통해서 가능하다. 정상인과의 뇌 영상 비교를 통하여 보다 정확하게 질병에 대한 근거를 제시할 수가 있기 때문에 이러한 접근 방법들이 여러 의료영상 연구 분야에서 시도되고 있다. 정상인의 뇌 영상과의 비교를 위해서는 우선적으로 해결되어야 하는 것이 현재의 대상 영상이 정상인 뇌의 어느 위치의 영상과 일치하는 지를 판별하는 문제이다. 따라서 본 연구는 이러한 뇌 매핑에 사용될 수 있는 특징들을 추출하기 위한 것으로, 뇌 매핑에 사용되는 특징들을 추출하기 위해서 뇌 MR 영상으로부터 대리영역, 뇌영역, 뇌척수액영역 그리고 눈영역을 분할한 후 이들의 윤곽선, 최소사각형과 각 영역들의 픽셀 정보들을 찾아낸다. 이는 추후 연구할 뇌 매핑을 위한 대분류에 사용될 수 있다.

Performance Enhancement of Marker Detection and Recognition using SVM and LDA (SVM과 LDA를 이용한 마커 검출 및 인식의 성능 향상)

  • In this paper, we present a method for performance enhancement of the marker detection system by using SVM(Support Vector Machine) and LDA(Linear Discriminant Analysis). It converts the input image to a binary image and extracts contours of objects in the binary image. After that, it approximates the contours to a list of line segments. It finds quadrangle by using geometrical features which are extracted from the approximated line segments. It normalizes the shape of extracted quadrangle into exact squares by using the warping technique and scale transformation. It extracts feature vectors from the square image by using principal component analysis. It then checks if the square image is a marker image or a non-marker image by using a SVM classifier. After that, it computes feature vectors by using LDA for the extracted marker images. And it calculates the distance between feature vector of input marker image and those of standard markers. Finally, it recognizes the marker by using minimum distance method. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves enhancement of recognition rate with smaller feature vectors by using LDA and it can decrease false detection errors by using SVM.

  • Image Mosaicing creates a new image by composing video frames or still images that are related, and performed by arrangement, composition and redundancy analysis of images. This paper proposes a hierarchical image mosaicing system using camera and object parameters far efficient video database construction. A tree-based image mosiacing has implemented for high-speed computation time and for construction of static and dynamic image mosaic. Camera parameters are measured by using least sum of squared difference and affine model. Dynamic object detection algorithm has proposed for extracting dynamic objects. For object extraction, difference image, macro block, region splitting and 4-split detection methods are proposed and used. Also, a dynamic positioning method is used for presenting dynamic objects and a blurring method is used for creating flexible mosaic image.

  • In this paper, we propose a face region detection/verification method using wavelet packet analysis and structural statistic for frontal human color image. The method extracts skin color lesions from input images, first. and then applies spatial restrictive conditions to the region, and determines whether the region is face candidate region or not. In second step, we find eye region in the face candidate region using structural statistic for standard korean faces. And in last step, the face region is verified via wavelet packet analysis if the face torture were satisfied to normal texture conditions.

An experimental study on the ground movement around a square pipe by its penetration for trenchless construction in sandy ground (사각형 강관을 이용한 비개착 시공에 따른 지반거동의 분석: 모래지반에 대한 모형 토조실험)

  • This study aims to experimentally investigate ground settlement and ground movement around the square pipe by its penetration in sandy ground. A series of laboratory model tests were carried out with a small-scale auger equipment for penetration of a square pipe as well as a newly designed test box with a sand raining equipment. From the experiments, it is shown that a square pipe induces ground movement evenly around it in a low overburden condition. However, as the overburden becomes higher, ground movement by a square pipe is concentrated mainly above it. Especially, horizontal strain above the square pipe was mainly dominated by its penetration. In addition, sand surface movement is the smallest in case of the dimensionless penetration rate equal to 0.2. When its penetration rate of the square pipe is fixed, the rotation speed of auger controls surface movement whether it is settlement or heaving. Therefore, the selection of an optimal dimensionless rate for the square pipe is a key design factor to minimize ground settlement in a trenchless construction.

Image Detection System for leakage regions of Hydraulic Fluid in Foring Press Machine (단조프레스기의 유압유 누유 영역 영상 감지 시스템)

  • In the hydraulic room of a forging press machine, a system which can detect and prevent risks at its early stage is needed because there may be a leakage due to the damage of the connection parts of the piping which can endanger human life and mechanical damage. In this paper, the system to automatically recognize a leakage of hydraulic fluid by the pan/tilt camera from a remote place is implemented. It finds the Minimum Boundary Rectangles(MBR) which are recognized with candidate leakage regions in the process of labeling and detects the proper leakage regions of hydraulic fluid with the width and height of MBRs and the area ratios of the MBRs and the candidate leakage regions. The experimental results show that the proposed system has been verified to detect the leakage regions accurately in various light conditions.

  • Recently, Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs) has become increasingly popular, which continue to increase the number of game player. The volume of the game world also has been extended on a large scale. Existing Map-based distributed server architecture divides the game world into the rectangular regions and allocates the registered player in each region to the server responsible for that region. Players tend to concentrate in certain regions of the game world, which makes some special server overloaded. This paper proposes to change the boundary between servers to solve such a unbalanced load problem. Our proposed method first finds the overloaded server and then searches for its neighboring lightest loaded server to share with the overload evenly. Finally we implemented performance evaluation to demonstrate the efficiency of this approach.
