A study on the construction of rainfall inundation measuring devices for the application of urban flood monitoring technology (도시침수 모니터링 기술 적용을 위한 강우-침수계측장치 구축에 관한 연구)

  • 도시침수는 하천홍수와는 달리 짧은 시간에 발생하며 저지대 우수 유입, 배수관로 용량 부족등으로 인해 발생한다. 추가적 원인으로 국지성 집중호우가 있으며 짧은 시간에 많은 비가 집중적으로 내리는 현상을 의미한다. 한두 시간 혹은 몇 분 동안의 짧은 시간에 좁은 지역에서 발생하는특성 때문에 발생 시간, 지점, 강우량에 대한 정확한 예측이 어려워 도심지의 저지대가 침수되는등 예상치 못하는 침수피해가 자주 발생한다. 강우량별 피해 범위를 보면 시간당 30~40mm 정도에서 하수관이 역류하고, 시간당 50mm 강우량에서 지하실이나 지하상가와 같은 지하공간에서 침수피해가 발생할 수 있으며, 시간당 100mm 이상의 강우에서는 대규모 재해가 발생할 우려가 높아진다. 도시침수 피해를 줄이기 위해 지자체에서는 CCTV를 운영하여 위험을 감시하고 있지만다수의 인력과 환경에 따라 영상 확인의 한계가 있다. 그러나 침수센서는 침수 정도를 수치로 표현하여 데이터를 확보함과 동시에 다수의 지역을 모니터링하는데 유용하다. 또한 주변 환경에 상관없이 계측된 자료를 모니터링 할 수 있다. 기존 센서를 설계할 때는 도시 미관을 해치는 경우가있었으나 본 연구에서는 도심지의 여건에 맞추어 인도용, 차도용, 공원용의 용도에 맞는 센서를구축하여 미관을 해치지 않으면서 기존의 지형을 활용하고자 하였다. 이 후 구축된 센서를 이용하여 리빙랩 개념의 테스트베드를 통해 다양한 도시침수의 원인이 되는 조건을 검토하여 실증 실험을 진행할 예정이다.

Microscopic Image-based Cancer Cell Viability-related Phenotype Extraction (현미경 영상 기반 암세포 생존력 관련 표현형 추출)

  • During cancer treatment, the patient's response to drugs appears differently at the cellular level. In this paper, an image-based cell phenotypic feature quantification and key feature selection method are presented to predict the response of patient-derived cancer cells to a specific drug. In order to analyze the viability characteristics of cancer cells, high-definition microscope images in which cell nuclei are fluorescently stained are used, and individual-level cell analysis is performed. To this end, first, image stitching is performed for analysis of the same environment in units of the well plates, and uneven brightness due to the effects of illumination is adjusted based on the histogram. In order to automatically segment only the cell nucleus region, which is the region of interest, from the improved image, a superpixel-based segmentation technique is applied using the fluorescence expression level and morphological information. After extracting 242 types of features from the image through the segmented cell region information, only the features related to cell viability are selected through the ReliefF algorithm. The proposed method can be applied to cell image-based phenotypic screening to determine a patient's response to a drug.

  • This study aims to develop a digital twin and big data-based port infrastructure control system that reflects smart maintenance technology. It is a technology that can evaluate aging and disaster risk by converting heterogeneous data such as sensing data and image data acquired from port infrastructure into big data, visualized in a digital twin-based control system, and comprehensively analyzed. The meaning of big data to express the physical world and processes by combining data, which are the core components of the virtual world, and the matters to be reflected in each stage of securing, processing, storing, analyzing and utilizing necessary big data, and we would like to define methods for linking with IT resources.

  • 최근 XR은 LED스크린의 VR과 그 LED 스크린의 외부영역을 AR 그래픽으로 덮는 방법으로 LED에서 표현되는 VR영상과 확장된 AR의 효과로 LED VR의 확장의 개념으로 가상환경 제작으로서 많이 시도 되고 있다. 그러나, 여전히 LED 스크린의 VR에서 어떤 가상의 객체가 AR로 튀어 나올 때 타이밍을 맞추어 전환해야 할 경우 부자연스럽거나 동기가 맞지 않아 합성결과가 어긋나 품질이 떨어지며, 여러 객체를 동시에 수동으로 전환시켜야 할 때 객체의 제어에 어려움이 많을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 그래픽 오브젝트가 VR과 AR의 경계를 오갈 때 자동으로 자연스럽게 전환/합성 가능하도록 하는 'Culling 박스'와 또, 여러 렌더링 머신에서 같은 오브젝트 제어를 동시에 제어 가능한 'TCP/IP 기반의 원격제어 UI'를 설명한다. 컬링박스는 전환해야 할 객체가 많은 복잡한 장면에서 모든 오브젝트가 일정 경계에서 자동으로 전환되며, 원격제어 UI의 타임라인 에디터와 이벤트 제어메뉴 UI를 통하여, 각각의 다른 머신의 시퀀스 및 오브젝트들을 제어 가능하여 효율적인 XR제작이 가능함을 확인 하였다.

  • 아기의 심장 박동 소리를 듣지 못하는 청각 장애 부모를 위한 태아 초음파 심장박동 촉각 변환 시스템을 개발하고자 하였다. 본 시스템은 아기의 심장박동 소리를 USB 마이크를 이용하여 소릿값을 입력받아 이에 대응하는 값을 진동 모터의 진동 출력 세기와 LED 밝기의 세기로 출력시키도록 하였다. 아기의 심장박동 느낌을 진동으로 표현해 내기 위해 진동의 샘플링 주기를 구체적인 수치로 조절하였고 산모에 따라 진동의 세기와 주변 잡음 제거를 할 수 있도록 조절하는 가변저항 2개를 연결하였다. 그 결과 태아 초음파 심장박동 촉각 변환 시스템을 성공적으로 개발하였으며 장치 체험자들로부터 총 평균 4.63점으로 높은 만족도를 얻었다. 개발 제품은 청각장애 산모들의 모성애를 충족시키고 아기의 심장박동을 느낌으로써 아기의 존재를 느낄 수 있을 것이며, 산부인과의 초음파 영상진단의 확장 신기술로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 인공지능 시대에 들어서면서 개인 맞춤형 환경을 제공하기 위하여 사람의 감정을 인식하고 교감하는 기술이 많이 발전되고 있다. 사람의 감정을 인식하는 방법으로는 얼굴, 음성, 신체 동작, 생체 신호 등이 있지만 이 중 가장 직관적이면서도 쉽게 접할 수 있는 것은 표정이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 정확도 높은 얼굴 감정 식별을 위해서 Convolution Block Attention Module(CBAM)의 각 Gate와 Residual Block, Skip Connection을 이용한 Identity- CBAM Module을 제안한다. CBAM의 각 Gate와 Residual Block을 이용하여 각각의 표정에 대한 핵심 특징 정보들을 강조하여 Context 한 모델로 변화시켜주는 효과를 가지게 하였으며 Skip-Connection을 이용하여 기울기 소실 및 폭발에 강인하게 해주는 모듈을 제안한다. AI-HUB의 한국인 감정 인식을 위한 복합 영상 데이터 세트를 이용하여 총 6개의 클래스로 구분하였으며, F1-Score, Accuracy 기준으로 Identity-CBAM 모듈을 적용하였을 때 Vanilla ResNet50, ResNet101 대비 F1-Score 0.4~2.7%, Accuracy 0.18~2.03%의 성능 향상을 달성하였다. 또한, Guided Backpropagation과 Guided GradCam을 통해 시각화하였을 때 중요 특징점들을 더 세밀하게 표현하는 것을 확인하였다. 결과적으로 이미지 내 표정 분류 Task에서 Vanilla ResNet50, ResNet101을 사용하는 것보다 Identity-CBAM Module을 함께 사용하는 것이 더 적합함을 입증하였다.

A Road Luminance Measurement Application based on Android (안드로이드 기반의 도로 밝기 측정 어플리케이션 구현)

  • According to the statistics of traffic accidents over recent 5 years, traffic accidents during the night times happened more than the day times. There are various causes to occur traffic accidents and the one of the major causes is inappropriate or missing street lights that make driver's sight confused and causes the traffic accidents. In this paper, with smartphones, we designed and implemented a lane luminance measurement application which stores the information of driver's location, driving, and lane luminance into database in real time to figure out the inappropriate street light facilities and the area that does not have any street lights. This application is implemented under Native C/C++ environment using android NDK and it improves the operation speed than code written in Java or other languages. To measure the luminance of road, the input image with RGB color space is converted to image with YCbCr color space and Y value returns the luminance of road. The application detects the road lane and calculates the road lane luminance into the database sever. Also this application receives the road video image using smart phone's camera and improves the computational cost by allocating the ROI(Region of interest) of input images. The ROI of image is converted to Grayscale image and then applied the canny edge detector to extract the outline of lanes. After that, we applied hough line transform method to achieve the candidated lane group. The both sides of lane is selected by lane detection algorithm that utilizes the gradient of candidated lanes. When the both lanes of road are detected, we set up a triangle area with a height 20 pixels down from intersection of lanes and the luminance of road is estimated from this triangle area. Y value is calculated from the extracted each R, G, B value of pixels in the triangle. The average Y value of pixels is ranged between from 0 to 100 value to inform a luminance of road and each pixel values are represented with color between black and green. We store car location using smartphone's GPS sensor into the database server after analyzing the road lane video image with luminance of road about 60 meters ahead by wireless communication every 10 minutes. We expect that those collected road luminance information can warn drivers about safe driving or effectively improve the renovation plans of road luminance management.

Digital Hologram Compression Technique By Hybrid Video Coding (하이브리드 비디오 코팅에 의한 디지털 홀로그램 압축기술)

  • According as base of digital hologram has been magnified, discussion of compression technology is expected as a international standard which defines the compression technique of 3D image and video has been progressed in form of 3DAV which is a part of MPEG. As we can identify in case of 3DAV, the coding technique has high possibility to be formed into the hybrid type which is a merged, refined, or mixid with the various previous technique. Therefore, we wish to present the relationship between various image/video coding techniques and digital hologram In this paper, we propose an efficient coding method of digital hologram using standard compression tools for video and image. At first, we convert fringe patterns into video data using a principle of CGH(Computer Generated Hologram), and then encode it. In this research, we propose a compression algorithm is made up of various method such as pre-processing for transform, local segmentation with global information of object image, frequency transform for coding, scanning to make fringe to video stream, classification of coefficients, and hybrid video coding. Finally the proposed hybrid compression algorithm is all of these methods. The tool for still image coding is JPEG2000, and the toots for video coding include various international compression algorithm such as MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and H.264 and various lossless compression algorithm. The proposed algorithm illustrated that it have better properties for reconstruction than the previous researches on far greater compression rate above from four times to eight times as much. Therefore we expect that the proposed technique for digital hologram coding is to be a good preceding research.

CT-Derived Deep Learning-Based Quantification of Body Composition Associated with Disease Severity in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (CT 기반 딥러닝을 이용한 만성 폐쇄성 폐질환의 체성분 정량화와 질병 중증도)

  • Purpose Our study aimed to evaluate the association between automated quantified body composition on CT and pulmonary function or quantitative lung features in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Materials and Methods A total of 290 patients with COPD were enrolled in this study. The volume of muscle and subcutaneous fat, area of muscle and subcutaneous fat at T12, and bone attenuation at T12 were obtained from chest CT using a deep learning-based body segmentation algorithm. Parametric response mapping-derived emphysema (PRMemph), PRM-derived functional small airway disease (PRMfSAD), and airway wall thickness (AWT)-Pi10 were quantitatively assessed. The association between body composition and outcomes was evaluated using Pearson's correlation analysis. Results The volume and area of muscle and subcutaneous fat were negatively associated with PRMemph and PRMfSAD (p < 0.05). Bone density at T12 was negatively associated with PRMemph (r = -0.1828, p = 0.002). The volume and area of subcutaneous fat and bone density at T12 were positively correlated with AWT-Pi10 (r = 0.1287, p = 0.030; r = 0.1668, p = 0.005; r = 0.1279, p = 0.031). However, muscle volume was negatively correlated with the AWT-Pi10 (r = -0.1966, p = 0.001). Muscle volume was significantly associated with pulmonary function (p < 0.001). Conclusion Body composition, automatically assessed using chest CT, is associated with the phenotype and severity of COPD.

Comparison Study of the Modulation Transfer Function of a Prototype a-Se based Flat Panel Detector with Conventional Speed Class 400 Film/screen System (비정질 셀레늄을 이용한 직접방식의 디지털 방사선 검출기와 X-ray film과의 MTF측정을 통한 영상 질(quality) 비교평가에 관한 연구)

  • To evaluate the performance of the digital radiography(DR) system developed in our group, the modulation transfer function(MTF) was measured and compared with that of an analog X- ray detector, film/screen system. The DR system has an amorphous selenium(a-Se) layer vacuum-evaporated on a TFT flat panel detector. The speed class 400 film/screen (Fuji) system has been being used in the clinical field as analog X-ray detectors. Both the square wave and slit method were used to evaluate their MTF. The square method was applied to both film/screen and the DR system. The slit method, however, was applied to only DR system. The full-width half maximum resolution of film/screen was 357${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$(1.4 lp/mm at 50% spatial frequency), and the resolution of DR was limited to 200${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$(2.5 lp/mm at 30%). These results indicate the measured resolution limitations approximate to the pixel pitch, 139 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of TFT. The MTF of DR is higher than that of film/screen by the factor of 1.785. It is proved that our a-Se based DR system has potential usefulness in the clinical field.
