  • Internal flow characteristics for an automobile HVAC have been investigated using a high-resolution PIV technique. The PIV system consists of a 2-head Nd:YAG laser(125 mJ), a high-resolution CCD camera($2K\;{\times}\;2K$), optics and a synchronizer. An automobile HVAC module was used directly. Only the casing was remodeled transparently for capturing flow image and laser sheet beam illumination. Time-averaged velocity field were measured in three temperature control mode.   • Air flow of inside automobile HVAC module has been visualized using a high-resolution PIV technique with varying the temperature operation mode. The PIV system consists of a 2-head Nd:YAG laser(125 mJ), a high-resolution CCD camera(2K x 2K), optics and a synchronizer. A real automobile HVAC module was used directly with slight modification for clear optical windows. Some parts of the HVAC module casing were replaced with transparent windows for capturing flow images with laser light sheet beam illumination. Time-averaged velocity field were measured in three temperature control modes. Flow characteristics of the air-conditioned air flow in the automobile HVAC system were evaluated.

  • 클라우드 컴퓨팅이 확산되면서 핵심기술인 가상화 기술(Virtualization)에 관한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 적용 범위도 단말기부터 서버, 네트워크까지ICT 인프라 전 분야로 확장되고 있다. 그러나, ICT인프라 자원의 가상화 구현을 위해서는 물리적 하드웨어 자원을 논리적으로 추상화하기 위해 하이퍼바이저 등의 새로운 가상화 계층을 구축할 수 밖에 없는데, 정보보호 측면에서 기존 보안기술이 모니터링할 수 없는 보안 사각지대가 되어 새로운 보안 취약성 및 공격경로를 발생 시킨다. 이러한 가상화 계층의 취약성분석 및 대응을 위한 관련 기술 개발 및 연구가 주목 받고 있다. 이에 본 고에서는 가상화 기술의 특성과 가상화 계층의 주요 보안위협 및 대응기술에 대해서 살펴 보고자 한다.

Some casing parts of the HVAC module were replaced with transparent windows for capturing clear flow images with laser light sheet beam illumination. Time-averaged velocity fields were obtained for two different temperature control modes. Flow characteristics of the air-conditioned air flow inside the automotive HVAC system for the two temperature baffle conditions were evaluated.

  • In modern society, the necessity of Color and Psychology Therapy is increasing for psychologically calm children who are less taken care by their parents in busy daily life, and helping them adapt to the environment. Therefore, we need to understand sensitivity status of children with paintings that they draw. Currently, most of empirical studies on their sensitivities are based on psychological and engineering perspectives. This study was designed to provide a system to extract psychological status of children from their pictures by distinguishing harmony of colors using information of solid colors and arrangement of colors in the image space. For achieving this research purpose, first of all, sensitivity database was constructed based on the image space of colors. Then, using the K-Means algorithm, the image was clustered and a wide amount of color values were divided into groups. After that, children's sensitivities were extracted by matching groups of color values with database, and color psychological status of children was observed using the color distribution chart in their paintings.

  • A musical that combines singing, dancing, and acting is a popular musical drama created by the development of opera. These musicals are the cultural and industrial sectors that are commercially compatible with artistry and popularity. Musicals remind you of exciting and colorful live performances. This musical industry has been loved by the public as it was created not only on stage but also as a musical film. The film industry has been striving to express the musical's unique originality through film screens. In terms of acting, acting in musical films should be implemented to suit musical films. In order to do so, the characteristics of movie acting and musical acting will be understood at the same time and true musical film acting can be implemented on the screen when each genre is fused. In order to act as a musical film, it is necessary to understand the functional characteristics of each genre and apply the necessary functions on the spot.

Efficacy of Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy for the Histology-confirmed Intracranial Germinoma - Preliminary Report (조직학적으로 확진된 두개내 배아종의 전보조화학요법 후 방사선치료의 성적 - 예비적 결과)

  • Purpose : We intended to decrease late CNS reaction after radical radiotherapy for an intracranial germinoma by using combined neoadjuvant chemotherapy and involved-field radiotherapy. The efficacy in terms of its acute toxicity and short-term relapse patterns was analyzed. Materials and Methods : Eighteen patients were treated with combined neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy between 1995 and 2001. The chemotherapy regimen used was the Children's Cancer Group (CCG) 9921A (cisplatin, cyclophosphamide, VP-16, vincristine) for 5 patients younger than 16 years, BEP (bleomycin, VP-16, cisplatin) for 12 patients, and EP (VP-16, cisplatin) for 1 patient. The radiotherapy covered the whole craniospinal axis for 5 patients, the whole brain for 1, and the partial brain (involved field) for 12. the primary lesion received tumour doses between 3,960 and 5,400 cGy. Results : The male to female ratio was 16:2 and the median age was 16 years old. The tumors were located in the pineal gland in 12 patients, in the suprasellar region in 1, in the basal ganglia In 1, in the thalamus in 1. Three patients had multiple lesions and ventricular seedings were shown at MRI. In 3 patients, tumor cells were detected in the cerebrospinal fluid and MRI detected a spinal seeding in 2 patients. The response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy was complete remission in 5 patients, partial remission in 12, and no response in 1. However, after radiotherapy, all except 1 patient experienced complete remission. The toxicity during or after chemotherapy greater than or equal to grade III was remarkable; hematologic toxicity was observed in 11 patients, liver toxicity in none, kidney toxicity in none, and gastrointestinal toxicity in one. One patient suffered from bleomycin-induced pneumonitis. Radiotherapy was therefore stopped and the patient eventually died of respiratory failure. The other 17 are alive without any evidence of disease or relapse during an average of 20 months follow-up. Conclusion : A high response rate and disease control was experienced, which was the same as observed other studies and the morbidity from chemotherapy-induced toxicity was similar. With these results, the results from adjuvant chemotherapy and involved-field radiotherapy cannot be concluded to be equal to those from extended-field radiotherapy. The long term follow-up study on later complications are required in order to draw definite conclusions on the optimal management with minimum side effects.

Micro-Landform Classification and Topographic Property of Tidal Flat in Julpo-Bay Using Satellite Image (위성영상을 이용한 줄포만 간석지의 미지형 분류와 지형적특성)

  • Through the ISODATA method of unsupervised classification, the micro-landform of Julpo-Bay tidal flat was classified into mudflat, mixedflat, and sandflat using Landsat TM image. Each showed an apparent differences in its topographical characteristics and grain size composition. Mudflat occupied innermost part of the tidal flat, sandflat located closest to the entrance of the bay and mixed flat in the center is. For example, mudlflats are formed with flat faces and tidal channel. Topographically, mudflat consist of tidal channels and flat intermediate surface. Its average relief of them is about 2 meter. Meanwhile, sandflat comprised very flat landform with well-developed ripple marks of less than 10cm average relief. And Mixed flat stood in between. In addition, Out of 7 bands of Landsat TM images, band 5 and 7 provided the highest power level for discrimination between micro-landforms of the tidal flat. Band 4 showed a clear boundary between the land and tidal flat, and band 3 did its share by showing well a boundary between the sea surface and the tidal flat.

  • The characters' voices in the movie, Rashomon mean the absence of memories created by self-consciousness in order to avoid the crisis. The varying statements of the characters and the three spaces: the space of Nakanimon (th e ruins), the representation space as polyphony (the forest), the egoistic space of truth (the guardian), show the social ills of doubtfulness and mistrust among the Japanese at that time due to the defeat from the war. This matches with the polyphony theory of Mr. Bakhtin, a Russian cultural critic. The key concept of polyphony theory is that the voices that do not accord each other are not harmonized but each voice builds their own world and participates in the novel without being influenced by the creator. This study's aim is to discuss two aspects; Bakhtin's polypony theory allows polyphony film s to function as cinematic composition and spatial characteristics of polyphony films in the movie, Rashomon.
