Variations in phytoplankton concentrations result from changes of the ocean color caused by phytoplankton pigments. Thus, ocean spectral reflectance for low chlorophyll waters are blue and high chlorophyll waters tend to have green reflectance. In the Korea region, clear waters and the open sea in the Kuroshio regions of the East China Sea have low chlorophyll. As one moves even closer In the northwestern part of the East China Sea, the situation becomes much more optically complicated, with contributions not only from higher concentration of phytoplankton, but also from sediments and dissolved materials from terrestrial and sea bottom sources. The color often approaches yellow-brown in the turbidity waters (Case Ⅱ waters). To verify satellite ocean color retrievals, or to develop new algorithms for complex case Ⅱ regions requires ship-based studies. In this study, we compared the chlorophyll retrievals from NASA's SeaWiFS sensor with chlorophyll values determined with standard fluorometric methods during two cruises on Korean NFRDI ships. For the SeaWiFS data, we used the standard NASA SeaWiFS algorithm to estimate the chlorophyll_a distribution around the Korean waters using Orbview/ SeaWiFS satellite data acquired by our HPRT station at NFRDl. We studied In find out the relationship between the measured chlorophyll_a from the ship and the estimated chlorophyll_a from the SeaWiFs satellite data around the northern part of the East China Sea, in February, and May, 2000. The relationship between the measured chlorophyll_a and the SeaWiFS chlorophyll_a shows following the equations (1) In the northern part of the East China Sea. Chlorophyll_a =0.121Ln(X) + 0.504, R²= 0.73 (1) We also determined total suspended sediment mass (55) and compared it with SeaWiFS spectral band ratio. A suspended solid algorithm was composed of in-.situ data and the ratio (L/sub WN/(490 ㎚)L/sub WN/(555 ㎚) of the SeaWiFS wavelength bands. The relationship between the measured suspended solid and the SeaWiFS band ratio shows following the equation (2) in the northern part of the East China Sea. SS = -0.703 Ln(X) + 2.237, R²= 0.62 (2) In the near future, NFRDI will develop algorithms for quantifying the ocean color properties around the Korean waters, with the data from regular ocean observations using its own research vessels and from three satellites, KOMPSAT/OSMl, Terra/MODIS and Orbview/SeaWiFS.
In this paper, we present a real-time hand pose recognition method to provide an intuitive user interface through hand poses or movements without a keyboard and a mouse. For this, the areas of right and left hands are segmented from the depth camera image, and noise removal is performed. Then, the rotation angle and the centroid point of each hand area are calculated. Subsequently, a circle is expanded at regular intervals from a centroid point of the hand to detect joint points and end points of the finger by obtaining the midway points of the hand boundary crossing. Lastly, the matching between the hand information calculated previously and the hand model of previous frame is performed, and the hand model is recognized to update the hand model for the next frame. This method enables users to predict the hidden fingers through the hand model information of the previous frame using temporal coherence in consecutive frames. As a result of the experiment on various hand poses with the hidden fingers using both hands, the accuracy showed over 95% and the performance indicated over 32 fps. The proposed method can be used as a contactless input interface in presentation, advertisement, education, and game applications.
The purpose of this paper is to prepare snowmelt parameters using RS and GIS and to assess the snowmelt impact in SLURP (Semi-distributed Land Use-based Runoff Process) model for Chungju-Dam watershed $(6,661.5km^2)$. Three sets of NOAA AVHRR images (1998-1999, 2000-2001, 2001-2002) were analyzed to prepare snow-related data of the model during winter period. Snow cover areas were extracted using 1, 3 and 4 channels, and the snow depth was spatially interpolated using snowfall data of ground meteorological stations. With the snowmelt parameters, DEM (Digital Elevation Model), land cover, NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and weather data, the model was calibrated for 3 years (1998, 2000, 2001), and verified for 1 year (1999) using the calibrated parameters. The average Nash-Sutcliffe efficiencies for 4 years (1998-2001) discharge comparison with and without snowmelt parameters were 0.76 and 0.73 for the full period, and 0.57 and 0.19 for the period of January to May. The results showed that the spatially prepared snow-related data reduced the calibration effort and enhanced the model results.
The purpose of this study is to assess the quantitative effect of stream discharge due to land use changes. The upstream watershed of Pyeongtaek gauging station of Anseong-cheon ($592.6\;km^2$) was adopted. To accomplish the purpose, firstly, trace land use changes for the selected watershed which have some changes of land use by using Landsat images of 1986 and 1999 of the watershed and secondly, analyse the quantitative effect of stream discharge due to land use changes by applying GIS- based distributed hydrologic model KIMSTORM. The model was calibrated and verified at 2 locations (Pyeongtaek and Gongdo) by comparing observed with simulated discharge results for 7 storm events from 1998 to 2003. Model output was designed to provide information of land use impact on runoff components in the watershed and the sensitivity of impact level of each land use category on storm runoff. Land use impact was evaluated with the land use data sets for 1986 and 1999 for the same rainfall condition (160.5 mm). Area decrease of 4.8 percent of forest and 4.0 percent of paddy field during 13 years (1986 - 1999) within the watershed caused a 30.3 percent increase of peak runoff and a 9.3 percent increase of runoff volume.

Geostationary Orbit satellite, unlike other sun-synchronous polar-orbit satellites, will be able to take a picture of a large region several times a day (almost with everyone hour interval). For geostationary satellite, the target region is fixed though the location of sun is changed always. However, Sun-synchronous polar-orbit satellites able to take a picture of target region same time a everyday. Thus Ocean signal is almost same. Accordingly, the ocean signal of a given target point is largely dependent on time. In other words, the ocean signal detected by geostationary satellite sensor must translate to the signal of target when both sun and satellite are located in nadir, using another correction model. This correction is performed with a standardization of signal throughout relative geometric relationship among satellite-sun-target points. This relative ratio called bidirectional factor. To find relationship between time and $[L_w]_N$/Bidirectional Factor differences, we are calculate solar position, geometry parameters. And reflectance, total radiance at the top of atmosphere(). And water leaving radiance, normalized water leaving radiance. And calculate bidirectional factor, that is the ratio of $[L_w]_N$ between target region and aiming the point. Then, we can make the bidirectional factor lookup table for one year imaging. So, we suggested for necessary to simulation experiment bidirectional factor in more various condition(wavelength and ocean/air condition).

The purpose of this study is to assess the hydrological impact on a watershed from long-term land cover changes. Gyeongan-cheon watershed($558.2km^2$) was selected and WMS(watershed modeling system) HEC-1 model was adopted as an evaluation tool. To identify land cover changes, five Landsat images(1980/2/15, 1986/4/15, 1990/4/26, 1996/4/26, 2000/5/17) were selected and analyzed using maximum likelihood method. As a result, urban areas have increased by 5.6% and forest areas have decreased by 6.1% between 1980 and 2000. SCS curve number increased by 9.8. To determine model parameters and evaluate HEC-1 model, five storm events(1998/5/2, 1998/8/23, 1998/9/30, 1999/5/3, 2000/7/29) were used. The simulated stream flow agreed well with the observed one with relative errors ranging from 9% to 36%. For 254 mm daily rainfall of 30 years frequency, due to the increase of urban areas peak flow increased by $455m^3/sec$ and the time of peak flow reduced about four hours for 20 years land cover changes.

3D geo-spatial model have been widely used in the field of Civil Engineering, Medical, Computer Graphics, Urban Management and many other. Especially, the demand for high quality 3D spatial information such as precise road map construction has explosively increased, MMS and UAV techniques have been actively used to acquire them more easily and conveniently in surveying and geo-spatial field. However, in order to perform 3D modeling by integrating the two data set from MMS and UAV, its so needed an proper registration method is required to efficiently correct the difference between the raw data acquisition sensor, the point cloud data generation method, and the observation accuracy occurred when the two techniques are applied. In this study, we obtained UAV point colud data in Yeouido area as the study area in order to determine the automatic registration performance between MMS and UAV point cloud data using ICP(Iterative Closet Point) method. MMS observations was then performed in the study area by dividing 4 zones according to the level of overlap ratio and observation noise with based on UAV data. After we manually registered the MMS data to the UAV data, then compared the results which automatic registered using ICP method. In conclusion, the higher the overlap ratio and the lower the noise level, can bring the more accurate results in the automatic registration using ICP method.
A high speed ultra-compact lens with a diffractive optical element (DOE) is designed, which can be applied to mobile communication devices such as IMT2000, PDA, notebook computer, etc. The designed hybrid lens has sufficiently high performance of less than f/2.2, compact size of 3.3 mm (1st surf. to image), and wide field angle of more than 30 deg. compared with the specifications of a single lens. By proper choice of the aspheric and DOE surface which has very large negative dispersion, we can correct chromatic and high order aberrations through the optimization technique. From Seidel third order aberration theory and Sweatt modeling, the initial data and surface configurations, that is, the combination condition of the DOE and the aspherical surface are obtained. However, due to the consideration of diffraction efficiency of a DOE, we can choose only four cases as the optimization input, and present the best solution after evaluating and comparing those four cases. On the other hand, we also report dramatic improvement in optical performance by inserting another refractive lens (so-called, field flattener), that keeps the refractive power of an original DOE lens and makes the petzval sum zero in the original DOE lens system. ystem.
Vocal and instrument apprenticeship in applied music has been accepted without significant changes since the introduction of applied music education to South Korea. Few discussions or suggestions about other types of teaching than 'one-to-one lessons' or 'education of apprentices by assigned specialists' have been made. Since the introduction of applied music education to South Korea late in the 1980s, the CAI(Computer Aided Instruction) courseware development for applied music education has not actively been under way. The area of applied music has also made rapid progress in terms of music producing or music videos using computers. Actually, the improved computer program is not positively applied to applied music education. This study aimed to present learning methods using the improved functions of music production softwares to improve the traditional apprenticeship system in the area of vocal training in applied music. In particular, it used the technique of auto tune-pitch shift developed for interval correction in sound sources. By giving real-time feedbacks concerning intervals or monitors visually after recording, it intended to present a learning method to induce improvement in accuracy of intervals in vocal training. This study is expected to present a method that allows vocal trainers to overcome temporal and spatial limitations in applied music and make their vocal training more efficient.
For patients receiving chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatment progresses as vomiting, nausea, weight of the patient because of a loss of appetite it is reduced. The patient's weight and the distance from the skin and the treatment site is expected to be closer, thereby reducing the change in the skin because of this dose. This study tests using a loose see the difference between the volume change appears as the weight of the patient using the same phantom and the phantom body of the patient. To using the same as the position EBT film is attached to the skin of the treatment site and was adjusted to the thickness of the Bolus. And using a computerized treatment planning only tomotherapy equipment was passed under the conditions according to the thickness of the radiation dose. To baseline for accurate reproduction position using the MVCT was applied to treated with verification. By passing a total of three dose reduced the error, it was a measure of the film by using a dedicated scanner, EBT VIDAR scanner. Got an increase in the skin dose is displayed each time the thickness of the bolus reduced, in a bolus was completely removed with the highest value. If the changes appeared dose was greater weight loss patients to chemotherapy and therefore bolus thickness variation considering the weight loss of the patient when applying the tomotherapy of nasopharynx cancer was found that the increase in skin dose be increased. This large patient before treatment due to weight loss over the image verification is considered to be established should consider how to re-create your mask and treatment plan for fixing it.
