A Study on Virtual Reality Management of 3D Image Information using High-Speed Information Network (초고속 정보통신망을 통한 3차원 영상 정보의 가상현실 관리에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we deseribe a Medical Image Information System. Our system stores and manages 5 dimensional medical image data and provides the 3 dimensional medical data via the Internet. The Internet standard VR format. VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is used to represent the 3I) medical image data. The 3D images are reconstructed from medical image data which are enerated by medical imaging systems such ans CT(Computerized Tomography). MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging). PET(Positron Emission Tomograph), SPECT(Single Photon Emission Compated Tomography). We implemented the medical image information system shich rses a surface-based rendering method for the econstruction of 3D images from 2D medical image data. In order to reduce the size of image files to be transfered via the Internet. The system can reduce more than 50% for the triangles which represent the surfaces of the generated 3D medical images. When we compress the 3D image file, the size of the file can be redued more than 80%. The users can promptly retrieve 3D medical image data through the Internet and view the 3D medical images without a graphical acceleration card, because the images are represented in VRML. The image data are generated by various types of medical imaging systems such as CT, MRI, PET, and SPECT. Our system can display those different types of medical images in the 2D and the 3D formats. The patient information and the diagnostic information are also provided by the system. The system can be used to implement the "Tele medicaine" systems.

  • This paper is presented to study simplification of face image using cubic spline interpolation for a business card with 2D barcode. People often forget business card's owner because business cards don't be included a face picture generally. To solve such problem, many applications have be developed through mobile devices, Internet and so on. But they couldn't caught up with value of existing business card mad by paper. Hence, some methods which can put information on business card using 1D or 2D barcode had suggested. but they couldn't include information like face image or company logo image which have too much data. Therefore, we study the simplification method of face image to encode from a face image to 2D barcode. The simplification method using spline curves defined by feature points which we dotted on face, ears, hair, eyebrows, nose, lips, neck, etc.. on a face area. for experiment, we see real face image and simplified face image made by proposed method after we automatically extract face watch through camera. In experimental results, data of simplified face image was reduced as small as it can be expressed by 2D barcode, and confirmed that it can effectively express features.

  • TV뉴스 영상은 다루고 있는 대상의 범위가 넓어 뉴스의 주제를 나타냄과 동시에 그 이외의 내용도 포함한다. 또한 소재의 재이용이 가능하기 때문에 뉴스의 내용에서뿐만 아니라 영상 자체가 표현하는 내용에서도 검색이 가능해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 TV뉴스의 영상을 색인하기 위해 종래 사용되던 뉴스의 나레이션, 캡션뿐만 다니라 영상 자체를 대상으로 하여 색인어를 추출하는 방안에 대해 논하였다. 연구에서는 $\ulcorner$KBS 뉴스 9$\lrcorner$을 예로 들어 영상내용정보, 나레이션과 캡션정보, 방송정보. 촬영정보로 나누어 색인어를 부여하였다.

  • 본 논문은 신인상주의(Neo-impressionism)의 분할적, 점묘적인 화풍을 표현하기 위한 회화적 렌더링(painterly rendering)의 알고리즘과 그 구현 방법을 다루고 있다. 논문에서 제시하는 알고리즘은 한 장의 영상을 입력으로 하여, 신인상주의 화가인 쇠라(Georges Seurat)나 시냑(Paul Signac)의 점묘화 같은 느낌을 주는 결과 영상을 만들어 낸다. 결과 화면은 두 단계로 구성되며 입력 영상에서 색을 분할된 영상, 색이 분할된 영상을 이용하여 브러시 스트로크를 생성하여 적응시킨 결과 영상으로 이루어진다.

  • 본 논문은 연속된 이미지로부터 고속 영상 모자익을 구성하는 새로운 접근을 기술한다. 제안하는 알고리듬은 전체 영상이 아닌, 종첩영역에서 특징점 및 대응점을 찾아 초기 변한 행렬을 구함으로 좀더 정확한 변환식을 표현하도록 하고 계산량을 감소시킨다. 또한 고속으로 모자익을 수행하도록 하기 위해 OpenGL 기반 텍스쳐 매핑을 이용하였다. 기존의 방법은 모든 영상의 픽셀에 변환식을 곱함으로 인해 많은 계산시간을 초래했다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 OpenGL 기반 텍스쳐 매핑을 이용해 영상의 각 버텍스에 변환식을 곱함으로서 계산시간을 단축시켰다. 그 결과, PC에서 카메라로부터 영상을 받아들여 고속으로 모자익을 구성할 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티 쓰레드를 이용하여 UI에 영상을 표현할 때, 걸리는 시간 및 적정 사용 방법을 연구하였다. 영상처리는 오픈 API인 OpenCV를 사용하여 처리하였으며, 1~4개의 스레드로 영상을 다운로드하는 시간부터 GUI에 보여주는 시간까지를 계산하는 기능을 구현하여 영상을 다운로드하고, GUI에 넣어주어야 할 때 스레드의 개수가 퍼포먼스에 관여하는 처리속도를 알아볼 수 있다.

  • Propaganda is often accepted as the political promotion that had used mostly by the socialist states during the First and the Second World Wars and the Cold War and by Hitler who governed Germany. Therefore, cases of the study on the image and picture propaganda were mostly posters or films of the socialism period when the propaganda was active. However, today it is not easy any more to find propaganda of the clear promotion characteristic as the past. In these modern times, it has changed into metaphorical propaganda based on 'persuasion', rather than publicity like past. Therefore, it has been changing from the direct promotion of the past into the indirect persuasion; and from the raw, direct and powerful publicity and claim into the soft and metaphorical persuasion and appeal. Thus, investigating again the contemporary propaganda will be an important element in analyzing contemporary images. The animation, selected as a target of the analysis of propaganda, exists in various ways in various images of the modern times, which is not too much to say that today's society is the television society. Besides, the animation is the image that can cover all ages as men and women of all ages can watch, so it is proper for analysis of the contemporary propaganda of metaphorical, indirect and various forms.

Gabor and Wavelet Texture Descriptors in Representing Textures in Arbitrary Shaped Regions (임의의 영역 안에 텍스처 표현을 위한 Wavelet및 Gabor 텍스처 기술자와 성능평가)

  • This paper compares two different approaches based on wavelet and Gabor decomposition towards representing the texture of an arbitrary region. The Gabor-domain mean and standard deviation combination is considered to be best in representing the texture of rectangular regions. However, texture representation of arbitrary regions would enable generalized object-based image retrieval and other applications in the future. In this study, we have found that the wavelet features perform better than the Gabor features in representing the texture of arbitrary regions. Particularly, the wavelet-domain standard deviation and entropy combination results in the best retrieval accuracy. Based on our experiment with texture image sets, we present and compare tile retrieval accuracy of multiple wavelet and Gabor feature combinations.
