A Study on Asymmetrical Interactive e-Book Publication System Composition by Using DTV Broadcasting (비대칭 쌍방향 전자책 출판 DTV 방송 시스템 구성에 관한 연구)

  • In the 21st century, broadcasting, communication, and computer have been integrated due to the development of digital technology. Accordingly, to overcome the limit of respective communication media and to maintain them, their independent area shall not be classified. This study is to examine the future environment of digital TV broadcasting, to analyze customizing type service and interactive type TV technology, and to make asymmetric interactive digital TV publication broadcasting system, which is TV broadcasting in the next generation to treat visual image, sound, and various data all together by harmonizing broadcasting and communication like ISDB(Integrate Service Digital Broadcasting). In addition, to develop service on publication broadcasting with high quality, this study is to propose to develop relative devices for TV/PC reception to realize a new communication type TV publication broadcasting, by analyzing technology for producing, sending, transmitting, receiving, and saving to apply to customizing type interactive system and by examining its application.

  • 최근 인터넷의 보급과 함께 고화질 및 양방향 TV, VOD 방송, 화상 전화 등의 멀티미디어 시대가 열리면서 초고속 통신 시스템에 대한 관심이 증가되고 있다. 특히 화상이나 동영상 같은 대량의 정보가 졸은 품질 및 빠른 속도로 전달될 수 있는 통신 시스템의 필요성이 대두됨에 따라 가장 효율적인 고속 전송 수단으로 광통신이 이용되고 있으며 그에 따른 광통신 능 수동 소자 개발에 관한 연구도 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 광통신 소자 중 원하는 빛을 선택적으로 투과하고 반사할 수 있는 flat-band pass(FP) filter의 역할이 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IR 영역에서 투과성이 우수한 칼코게나이드 물질을 이용해 l 차원 광자결정구조의 FP-filter를 설계, 제작하고 그에 대한 특성을 평가하였다. 시료는 5N의 순도를 갖는 As, Se, Te 물질을 준비하고 $As_xSe_yTe_z$를 조성비에 맞추어서 석영관에 진공 봉입한 후 용융 혼합하여 $As_{33}Se_{67}$$As_{40}Se_{25}Te_{35}$ 조성의 두 가지 비정질 벌크를 제작하였다. 제작된 시료의 굴절률은 ellipsometer을 사용하여 측정하였고, 본 연구진이 자체 개발한 계산툴에 따라 다중층막 구조를 설계하였다. 열 증착법을 이용하여 설계된 구조에 맞게 기판에 올리는 방법으로 1차원 광자결정 구조의 다중층막 샘플을 제작하였고 UV-Vis-IR Spectroscopy를 사용하여 반사도와 투과도를 측정하였다. 광통신용 L/C 밴드 주파수 범위에서 투과성이 우수한 칼코게나이드 박막의 1차원 광자결정 구조는 FP-filter등의 소자로써 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

  • The UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) system, including the drone of a variety of fields, which has become an issue and utilized in various fields, has begun to develop in military fields and is actively developed in the commercial field. In various types of UAV systems, which have been developed recently, the communication system that is responsible for the connection between the ground control unit and the UAVs is called the data link. Especially, common data link used in military UAVs is required stability of communication to transmit surveillance and reconnaissance intelligence information and UAV's status. In this paper, the requirement for a modem was defined to secure the communication stability of the common data link used in surveillance UAVs. And, the design of the data link modem to satisfy applicable specifications was proposed. The proposed modem design was verified through the performance measurement of the implemented systems.

Synchronized One-to-many Media Streaming employing Server-Client Coordinated Adaptive Playout Control (적응형 재생제어를 이용한 동기화된 일대다 미디어 스트리밍)

  • A new inter-client synchronization framework for multicast media streaming is proposed employing a server-client coordinated adaptive playout control. The proposed adaptive player controls the playback speed of audio and video by adopting the time-scale modification of audio. Based on the overall synchronization status as well as the buffer occupancy level, the playout speed of each client is manipulated within a perceptually tolerable range. Additionally, the server implicitly helps increasing the time available for retransmission while the clients perform an interactive error recovery mechanism with the assistance of playout control. The network-simulator based simulations show that the proposed framework can reduce the playout discontinuity without degrading the media quality, and thus mitigate the client heterogeneity.

  • The data broadcasting service, which is growing remarkably today, provides viewers with useful information as well as high quality video and audio. Service information is a kind of additional data that contains a wide range of information such as channel list and/or program title. Each service information is transmitted in the form of a table. And most standard committees have specified their own table list used for carrying the service information. Consequently, It causes incompatibility among services that each broadcast operators produce because the tables that they use differ from each other. In this paper, we propose a general-purpose service information processing system for an integrated data broadcasting middleware that is compatible with heterogenous broadcasting environments. The system is able to change its target table list dynamically without any code modification. Futhermore, we also adopted a thread pool model for efficient parsing and event dispatching.

  • Recently, as the roles and utilization fields of UAV become more diverse, demand for high - level mission has been increasing. To solve this issue, researches on the operation of multiple small UAVs and related systems have been actively carried out. The multiple small UAVs based application system has a problem that the task complexity of control personnel increases because the control personnel must continuously control and manage several small UAVs. Hence, it is necessary to develop a software platform that can perform efficient control in order to employ a multiple small UAVs based application system successfully. In this paper, we propose an effective ground control software platform for application systems using multiple small UAVs. We first analyze the requirements for the software platform, and design and implement software based on the analysis. Simulation using the X-plane flight simulator shows that multiple flight data are effectively displayed and that the image data transmitted from many small UAVs are simultaneously displayed in real time.

A Implementation and Performance Analysis of Emotion Messenger Based on Dynamic Gesture Recognitions using WebCAM (웹캠을 이용한 동적 제스쳐 인식 기반의 감성 메신저 구현 및 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we propose an emotion messenger which recognizes face or hand gestures of a user using a WebCAM, converts recognized emotions (joy, anger, grief, happiness) to flash-cones, and transmits them to the counterpart. This messenger consists of face recognition module, hand gesture recognition module, and messenger module. In the face recognition module, it converts each region of the eye and the mouth to a binary image and recognizes wink, kiss, and yawn according to shape change of the eye and the mouth. In hand gesture recognition module, it recognizes gawi-bawi-bo according to the number of fingers it has recognized. In messenger module, it converts wink, kiss, and yawn recognized by the face recognition module and gawi-bawi-bo recognized by the hand gesture recognition module to flash-cones and transmits them to the counterpart. Through simulation, we confirmed that CPU share ratio of the emotion messenger is minimized. Moreover, with respect to recognition ratio, we show that the hand gesture recognition module performs better than the face recognition module.

Design of Real-time Disaster Safety management Solution in a Smart Environment (스마트 환경에서의 실시간 재난 안전 관리 솔루션 설계)

  • In recent years, increasing the variety of disasters and accidents that accompany large-scale damage. Disasters are accidents with uncertainty and have a direct impact on people's lives, safety and property protection. Therefore, it is necessary to establish and operate safety management systems such as prevention, response, and recovery for various disasters. Therefore, in this paper, a real-time disaster safety management solution in a smart environment was designed to systematically respond to disaster accidents. To this end, 1: 1 or 1: N situation propagation was performed to the situation room, related organizations, and experts through smart devices. Through this, the solution was configured to respond quickly and appropriately through multi-party information sharing and communication. In other words, we designed a solution that applied functions such as real-time and multi-party HD video transmission, mobile-type report management, voice / text situation propagation, location information sharing, recording and history management, and security.

A Novel D2D Communication Scheme for Location-Based OTT Service in Cellular Networks (셀룰러 통신망에서 위치기반 OTT 서비스 지원을 위한 D2D 통신 방안)

  • Since the smart phone was first introduced, the amount of mobile traffic has increased explosively. The OTT service with personal broadcasting and TV contents and the number of users have been increased in wired network, and there are needs to expand the OTT service to mobile network. In the case of the OTT service in mobile network, the relative small and finite resource may cause the overload of the network due to the massive and high transfer rate. In this paper, we consider a future situation of the OTT user services in the cellular network and propose a novel D2D communication scheme for location-based OTT service, which can reduce and distribute the amount of video traffics. To effectively handle the traffic of OTT services, we propose D2DS and LCS functional blocks in EPC network, which can provide location-based service and D2D management. And, we suggest additional procedures for the location-based service of both content provider and contents receiver UEs with the operation of the proposed D2DS and LCS function block.

Error Concealment Method considering Distance and Direction of Motion Vectors in H.264 (움직임벡터의 거리와 방향성을 고려한 H.264 에러 은닉 방법)

  • When H.264 encoded video streams are transmitted over wireless network, packet loss is unavoidable. Responding on this environment, we propose methods to recover missed motion vector in the decoder: At first, A candidate vector set for missing macroblock is estimated from high correlation coefficient of neighboring motion vectors and missing block vectors the algorithm clusters candidate vectors through distances amongst motion vectors of neighboring blocks. Then the optimal candidate vector is determined by the median value of the clustered motion vector set. In next stage, from the candidate vector set, the final candidate vector of missing block is determined it has minimum distortion value considering directions of neighboring pixels' boundary. Test results showed that the proposed algorithm decreases the candidate motion vectors $23{\sim}61%$ and reduces $3{\sim}4sec$ on average processing(decoding) time comparing the existing H.264 codec. The PSNR, in terms of visual quality is similar to existing methods.
