  • The present study aims to investigate the difference of soundscape evaluation results from on-site field test and laboratory test which are commonly used for soundscape surveys. In order to do this, both field and lab tests were carried out at four different areas in Cheongju city. On-site questionnaire surveys were undertaken to 65 people at 13 points. Laboratory listening tests were carried out to 48 adults using recorded sounds and video. Laboratory tests were undertaken to two different groups who had experience of field survey or not. Also, two different sound reproduction tools, headphones and speakers, were used in laboratory tests. As a result, it was found that there is a very close correlation between sound loudness and annoyance in both field and laboratory tests. However, it was concluded that there must be a difference in recognizing the figure sounds between field and laboratory tests since it is hard to apprehend on-site situation only using visual and aural information provided in laboratory tests. In laboratory tests, it was shown that there is a some difference in perceived most loud figure sounds in two groups using headphones and speakers. Also, it was analyzed that there is a tendency that field experienced people recognize the figure sounds using their experienced memory while non-experienced people can not perceive the figure sounds.

  • As the volume of marine hazardous and noxious substances (HNSs) transported in domestic and overseas seas increases, the risk of HNS spill accidents is gradually increasing. HNS leaked into the sea causes destruction of marine ecosystems, pollution of the marine environment, and human casualties. Secondary accidents accompanied by fire and explosion are possible. Therefore, various types of HNSs must be rapidly detected, and a control strategy suitable for the characteristics of each substance must be established. In this study, the ground HNS spill experiment process and application result of detection algorithms were presented based on hyperspectral remote sensing. For this, styrene was spilled in an outdoor pool in Brest, France, and simultaneous observation was performed through a hyperspectral sensor. Pure styrene and seawater spectra were extracted by applying principal component analysis (PCA) and the N-Findr method. In addition, pixels in hyperspectral image were classified with styrene and seawater by applying spectral matching techniques such as spectral distance similarity (SDS), spectral correlation similarity (SCS), spectral similarity value (SSV), and spectral angle mapper (SAM). As a result, the SDS and SSV techniques showed good styrene detection results, and the total extent of styrene was estimated to be approximately 1.03 m2. The study is expected to play a major role in marine HNS monitoring.

  • In this paper, we propose a study on the development of deep learning structure to secure visibility of outdoor LED display board according to weather change. The proposed technique secures the visibility of the outdoor LED display board by automatically adjusting the LED luminance according to the weather change using deep learning using an imaging device. In order to automatically adjust the LED luminance according to weather changes, a deep learning model that can classify the weather is created by learning it using a convolutional network after first going through a preprocessing process for the flattened background part image data. The applied deep learning network reduces the difference between the input value and the output value using the Residual learning function, inducing learning while taking the characteristics of the initial input value. Next, by using a controller that recognizes the weather and adjusts the luminance of the outdoor LED display board according to the weather change, the luminance is changed so that the luminance increases when the surrounding environment becomes bright, so that it can be seen clearly. In addition, when the surrounding environment becomes dark, the visibility is reduced due to scattering of light, so the brightness of the electronic display board is lowered so that it can be seen clearly. By applying the method proposed in this paper, the result of the certified measurement test of the luminance measurement according to the weather change of the LED sign board confirmed that the visibility of the outdoor LED sign board was secured according to the weather change.

  • The water and sewage system is an infrastructure that provides safe and clean water to people. In particular, since the water and sewage pipelines are buried underground, it is very difficult to detect system defects. For this reason, the diagnosis of pipelines is limited to post-defect detection, such as system diagnosis based on the images taken after taking pictures and videos with cameras and drones inside the pipelines. Therefore, real-time detection technology of pipelines is required. Recently, pipeline diagnosis technology using advanced equipment and artificial intelligence techniques is being developed, but AI-based defect detection technology requires a variety of learning data because the types and numbers of defect data affect the detection performance. Therefore, in this study, various defect scenarios are implemented using 3D printing model to improve the detection performance when detecting defects in pipelines. Afterwards, the collected images are performed to pre-processing such as classification according to the degree of risk and labeling of objects, and real-time defect detection is performed. The proposed technique can provide real-time feedback in the pipeline defect detection process, and it would be minimizing the possibility of missing diagnoses and improve the existing water and sewerage pipe diagnosis processing capability.

  • Due to abnormal climate phenomena and climate change in Korea, overgrowth of algae in rivers and reservoirs occurs frequently. Algae in rivers are classified into green algae, blue-green algae, diatom, and other types, and some species of blue-green algae cause problems due to odor and the discharge of toxic substances. In Korea, an algae alert system is in place, and it is issued based on the number of harmful blue-green algae cells. Thus, measuring harmful blue-green algal blooms is very important, and currently, the analysis method of algae involves taking field samples and determining the cell count of green algae, blue-green algae, and diatoms through algal microscopy, which takes a lot of time. Recently, the analysis of algae concentration through Phycocyanin, an alternative indicator for the number of harmful algae cells, has been conducted through remote sensing. However, research on the analysis of the number of blue-green algae cells is currently insufficient. In this study, we water samples for algal analyses were collected from river and counted the number of blue-green algae cells using algae microscopy. We also obtained the Phycocyanin concentration using an optical sensor and acquired algae spectra through a hyperspectral sensor. Based on this, we calculated the equation for estimating blue-green algae cell counts and estimated the number of blue-green algae cells.

  • This study was started by recognizing that visual storytelling(VST) is an important factor that determines the success of the work. The goal of this study is to analyze the VST study approaching from the narrative and visual dimension by analyzing the conflict intensity and VST factor. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed the conflicts of the theater animation(4) that succeeded in the worldwide success and attempted the VST interpretation by approaching it technically. The results and contents of the study are as follows. Firstly, based on the narrative theory of Sung bong-Sun and Robert McKee, we classified the conflict scenes and found the kinds of conflicts. In addition, based on the 5B model, a total of 108 conflict shots were extracted. Secondly, through expert experiment, we found the conflict intensity of conflict shots. Thirdly, the visual elements of fifteen significant conflicts were extracted from internal and super individual conflicts. Fourth, as a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the reliability of the visual elements in the inner and super personal conflicts was in the range of 100-83.33%, and the frequency of usage was found to be widely distributed in 5.88-70.59% and 5-70%. This means that the VST expression, which relied on the sense of the artist, can be engineered. Finally, I expect that it will be the basis of the development of the VST Tool which can predict the conflict expression of the work in the animation pre - production stage successfully.

  • We described how to implement character expressions and animations that play an important role in expressing emotions and personalities in low-polygon character animation. With the development of the video industry, character expressions and mouth-shaped lip-syncing in animation can realize natural movements at a level close to real life. However, for non-experts, it is difficult to use expert-level advanced technology. Therefore, We aimed to present a guide for low-budget low-polygon character animators or non-experts to create mouth-shaped lip-syncing more naturally using accessible and highly usable features. A total of 8 mouth shapes were developed for mouth shape lip-sync animation: 'ㅏ', 'ㅔ', 'ㅣ', 'ㅗ', 'ㅜ', 'ㅡ', 'ㅓ' and a mouth shape that expresses a labial consonant. In the case of facial expression animation, a total of nine animations were produced by adding highly utilized interest, boredom, and pain to the six basic human emotions classified by Paul Ekman: surprise, fear, disgust, anger, happiness, and sadness. This study is meaningful in that it makes it easy to produce natural animation using the features built into the modeling program without using complex technologies or programs.

  • This study explores how to build a Korean dataset to extract information from text using generative large language models. In modern society, mixed information circulates rapidly, and effectively categorizing and extracting it is crucial to the decision-making process. However, there is still a lack of Korean datasets for training. To overcome this, this study attempts to extract information using text-based zero-shot learning using a generative large language model to build a purposeful Korean dataset. In this study, the language model is instructed to output the desired result through prompt engineering in the form of "system"-"instruction"-"source input"-"output format", and the dataset is built by utilizing the in-context learning characteristics of the language model through input sentences. We validate our approach by comparing the generated dataset with the existing benchmark dataset, and achieve 25.47% higher performance compared to the KLUE-RoBERTa-large model for the relation information extraction task. The results of this study are expected to contribute to AI research by showing the feasibility of extracting knowledge elements from Korean text. Furthermore, this methodology can be utilized for various fields and purposes, and has potential for building various Korean datasets.
