  • 최근 생물학 등 여러 학문이 결합한 바이오닉스 기술을 이용하여 시력을 회복시키려는 인공 시각 전달 장치의 개발이 시도되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 인간의 물체 지각의 특성인 자기유사성에 적합한 영상 압축 기법에 대하여 조사하여 영상인식을 위한 최적의 학습 데이타 구성에 대하여 제안하고자 한다. 실험결과, 레인지 블록 크기에 따라 인식율의 변화는 나타나지만 레인지 크기가 작아질수록 별 차이가 없음을 알 수 있었다.

Analysis for Yellow Sand and Typhoon by Radar Image (레이다 영상을 통한 황사와 태풍 분석)

  • With the increasing events of natural disasters caused by unpredictable atmospheric movements, the importance of weather forecasting is increasingly emphasized. In this paper, we adopt satellite radar imageries to deal with unusual weather events over Korean region including yellow sand that swept over Korea in spring 2007 and typhoon EWNIAR in 2006. Korea has suffered from these natural events with increasing frequencies over last decades and the satellite radar imaging is considered the most appropriate method to track and analyze the characteristics of the events spanning from mainland China to Japan. The yellow sand mostly comes from Manju area in China and consists of tiny particles so that they move with high speed resulting in difficulty in predicting their moving paths. With the use of various radar images taken at regular time intervals, we could possibly derive the expected movement of the yellow sand particles. In the future, with the help of radar images taken at very short intervals, satellite radar image analysis will become a very useful tool to predict and prepare for the natural disastrous events caused by abrupt change in the atmosphere and deserts around Korea.

  • Among the methods of developing tourist spots and culture as the experience contents, it is a common method to display high-quality video images on a large display, and it is necessary to make a special difference between the participant's active participation and the visual experience in other regions. In this paper, using the single molecular OLED and active type, the regional tourist spots blend transparent OLED dual-layer display systems with the extended image implementation and augmented interaction techniques to give the participants a real-world experience, such as directing to new experiences and beautiful sights. In this paper, additional images and UI layers are applied to the layers of the images to allow visitors to experience sightseeing information, weather, maps, accommodations, festivals and photo materials with image. In addition to the dual-layer system, it also added a multi-display system that additionally has one vertical 55-inch display on each side, adding to the experience the immersive experience and interface interlocking fun. By using transparent OLED, dual layer panel and 3-channel Multi-image playback technique, the augmented type experience contents which can experience the local attractions in Jeollanamdo province in Korea at all time without any limitation of time and space were developed.

Development of the Railway Abrasion Measurement System using Camera Model and Perspective Transformation (카메라 모델과 투시 변환에 의한 레일 마모도 측정 시스템 개발)

  • The railway abrasion measurement system have to satisfy two conditions to increase the measurement accuracy as follows. The laser region which is projected on the rail have to be extracted without the geometrical distortion. The mapping of the acquired laser region data on the rail profile have to be processed exactly. But, the conventional railway abrasion measurement system is deeply effected by the foreign substance( dust, rainwater, and so on ) on the railway or the sensitive response characteristic of the laser to the external measurement circumstance, and then the measurement errors arise from above factors. When the laser region is projected on the rail extracts from the acquired image, the interference of the light with the same frequency as the laser system occurs the serious problems. In the process of the mapping between the railway profile and the extracted laser region, the measurement accuracy is very highly effected by the geometrical distortion and the abnormal variation. In this Paper, we propose the novel method to increase the accuracy of the railway abrasion measurement dramatically. we designed and manufactured the high precision and fast image processing board with DSP Core and FPGA to measure the railway abrasion. The image processing board has the capability that the image of 1024X1280 from camera can be processed with the speed of 480 frame/sec. And, we apply the image processing algorithm base on the wavelet to extract the laser region is projected on the rail exactly. Finally, we developed high precision railway abrasion measurement system with the error range less than +/-0.5mm by which 2D image data is covered 3D data and mapped on the rail profile using the camera model and the perspective transform.

  • 이미지 압축에서 레인지 블록들을 분할하는 것은 매우 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 프랙탈 이미지 압축기법에서 사용하는 분할-합병 기법을 동영상의 압축에 적용하였다. Quad-tree 방식은 top-down 방식으로 유사한 도메인 블록을 찾지 못하였을 경우 그 레인지를 4 등분하여 각각의 도메인 블록을 찾는 방식이다. 분할-합병 기법은 bottom-up 방식으로 Quad-tree 방식과 달리 주어진 크기의 원자 블록(atomic block)들을 도메인과의 유사성에 따라 연결함으로써 레인지를 불규칙적인 형태로 합병할 수 있다. 이 방식을 이용하여 동영상에서의 화질과 압축률의 개선을 기대할 수 있다.

Analysis of Forest Stand Structure Using Spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) Data (인공위성 레이다 영상자료를 이용한 임분구조의 물리적 특성파악)

  • With recent development in spaceborne imaging radar system, there are growing interests using satellite synthetic aperture radar(SAR) data in various applications. This study attempted to identify the relationships between several forest stand characteristics and radar backscatter, measured from space altitude altitude at three incidence angles. Shuttle Imaging Radar-B(SIR-B) data were collected over a forested area in northern Florida in October, 1984. By using various sources of reference data (forest type maps, inventory records, aerial photographs, and Landsat Thematic Mapper data), about 400 forest stands of known characteristics were carefully located in the radar data. Relative radar backscatter for the three incidence angles of SIR-B data were compared with known forest stand parameters such as mean tree height, diameter at breast height(DBH), stand density, biomass, and relative amount of understory vegetation. The results show that these stand parameters have statistically significant correlations with the radar backscatter. In addition, the SIR-B radar backscatter from a certain stand parameter turned out differently at the three different incidence angles. Finally, the types and characteristics of currently available satellite SAR data are discussed.

ISAR Motion Compensation using Evolutionary Programming-Based Time-Frequency Analysis (진화 프로그래밍 기반의 시간-주파수 영역 해석법을 이용한 ISAR 영상 이동보상기법)

  • Many time-frequency analysis techniques have been used for motion compensated ISAR(Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) imaging. In this work, a novel time-frequency(T-F) analysis called evolutionary adaptive wavelet transform (EAWT) and evolutionary adaptive joint time-frequency(EAJTF) procedure are used for the motion compensated ISAR image. To show the validity of our algorism, we use simulated MIG-25 and Boeing 727(B-727) ISAR data. From the constructed ISAR image using EAWT and EAJTF, we show that our algorithm can obtain a clear motion compensated ISAR image such as other time-frequency analysis techniques.

The Method of 3D Stereoscopic Animation Editing Using Layers (레이어를 이용한 3D 입체 애니메이션 편집 기법)

  • The current software for creating and editing animation offers the possibility of dividing variable objects into layers. This paper suggests a method to render and edit each of right and left layer in the process of creating a 3D stereoscopic animation. It is possible to apply a variety of effects to left and right images and to adjust the gap of binocular parallax through this method so that wider variation of images and richer sense of depth can be produced. In addition, this method offers freedom of deleting and inserting an object, controlling size and position of the object and adjusting the gap of binocular parallax. Thus, new sense of depth can be obtained. This method shows the results to apply various effects on the 3D stereoscopic image and to reduce visual fatigue rather than the method to render simultaneously both of left and right layer.

Multi-view Contents Production by Control of Depth Image (깊이영상 조절을 통한 다시점 콘텐츠 제작)

  • 본 논문에서는 깊이영상 기반의 영상합성과 다시점 영상 생성 기술을 이용하여 3차원 입체 콘텐츠를 제작하는 방법을 제안하였다. 이를 위해 깊이영상을 촬영한 후에 깊이정보를 조절하고, 레이어 기반의 영상으로 합성한 후에 이를 이용하여 다시점 영상을 생성하였다. 깊이카메라와 RGB 카메라로 구성된 카메라 시스템을 이용하여 객체들을 촬영함으로써 객체에 대한 3차원 정보를 획득하고 이를 데이터베이스화하여 3차원 영상을 합성하고 생성하는데 이용한다. 3차원 영상의 위치 및 거리를 고려하여 객체의 3차원 정보를 조절하고, 레이어 기반으로 하나의 영상으로 합성한다. 합성된 영상은 다시점 영상 생성 도구를 이용하여 원하는 시점만큼의 다시점 영상들로 생성된다. 본 논문에서는 객체와 사람의 영상을 합성하였고, 이들을 이용하여 각각 37시점의 다시점 영상을 생성하였다.
