  • Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) have many advantages such as high power density, wide speed range and so on. With the IPMSM, miniaturization and energy efficient design can be achieved in comparison with Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(SPMSM). In order to secure miniaturization and manufacturing efficiency of the motor, it has concentrated winding, because concentrated winding can reduce the motor volume and make manufacturing to be simple compared with the distributed winding. However, according to the pole-slot combinations motor parameters can be changed and unexpected normal force can be generated. Especially, unbalanced normal force in airgap can cause serious vibration and acoustic problem. Accordingly, in this paper, normal force and parameters variation of concentrated winding IPMSM are investigated according to the pole-slot combinations.

  • This paper presents a novel method for cogging torque reduction of interior type permanent magnet motor. For calculation position and width of notch, energy formulation and cogging torque function in air gap are analyzed by analytical method(space harmonics method) and numerical method. The optimal shape of notchs is decided by using finite element method. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed with experiments.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of IPMSM(Interior-type Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) are simulated using 2-Dimensional finite element method. This paper deals with the following characteristics: Air gap flux density considering skew. Back E.M.F, Torque and Inductance. Torque is calculated using current angle which is known from the controller. Direct axis inductance and Quadrature axis inductance are also calculated using energy perturbation method. This results can be used for the computation of the saliency of IPMSM. Computed results are found in satisfactory agreement with experimental ones.

  • In this paper, we investigated the iron losses in the rotor core of interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM), which have distributed armature windings. From the analysis results, we can conclude that iron losses of rotor are definitely large at load condition if the number of slots per pole is fractional. Since the slot-pole combination may induce excessive heating, particular care should be necessary in design of PMSM for a high power rating application such as electric vehicles.

  • 하이브리드 자동차의 Integrated Starter & Generator (ISG)는 기동 시 높은 토크를 발생시키면서 진동과 소음을 동반한다. 이러한 진동 및 소음은 차량의 품질 확보를 위하여 최소화 시켜야 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 매입형 영구자석 동기 전동기로 설계된 ISG의 진동 및 소음 저감에 관한 연구에 대하여 다룬다. ISG의 진동 및 소음 저감을 위하여 회전자 코어의 형상 최적설계, 슬롯 수 변경설계 그리고 회전자의 step skew를 적용시켜 각각의 설계방법이 ISG의 진동 및 소음에 미치는 영향을 해석과 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

  • Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) produces two kind of torque that Magnetic and Reluctance torque. The permanent magnet linkage flux and d-axis and q-axis inductances have an important influence on the torque characteristic of IPMSM. Thus their accurate prediction is essential for predicting performance aspect such as the torque and flux-weakening capabilities. In this paper, is calculated by LC resonance method with FEM. The results are validated by comparison the calculated by another method.

  • The Slotless Permanet-magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSM) have been developed for factory automation, transportation applications, wafer steppers, conveyance system, and so on[1]. The current analysis and design are treated in air-cored PMLSM. The main purpose of this paper is to provide a general design and analysis framework for the iron-cored linear permanent-magnet machines. Based on field solution using two dimensional analytical technique the magnetic field required magnet volume size, optimal winding thickness size, winding flux linkage and thrust will be discussed.

  • This paper presents an implementation of vector control for SMPMSM using model based controller design in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The model based controller design enables fast development of control system for motor by designing controllers and performing simulation on the GUI (Graphic User Interface) platform, converting program code directly into real-time programs, and then performing tests for the responses from controllers. The controller is designed as PI controller for speed and decoupling PI controller for current. And PWM used space vector modulation method using offset voltage and system stability is also secured by close magnitude overmodulation method, maintaining dynamics of load when it overmodulation. The validity of vector control implemented is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • This paper deals with the characteristic analysis & optimum design of Permanent Magnet Assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor(PMASynRM) for Premium Efficiency Performance. The focus of this paper is characteristic analysis of d and q-axis inductances and torque according to magnetizing quantity of interior permanent magnet for PMASynRM. The d and q-axis current component ratios, load angles of a PMASynRM are investigated quantitatively on the basis of the proposed analysis method and the experimental test. Comparisons are given with output characteristic curves of normal SynRM and those according to the load in PMASynRM, respectively. And optimum design of PMASynRM is performed by Response Surface Methodology(RSM).

  • This paper presents a design notch to reduce cogging torque of interior type permanent magnet motor. As design notch on rotor of IPM motor, magnetic field from between rotor and teeth of state is changed. By reason of variation magnetic field, cogging torque is generated. Through Fourier formulation of magnetic field on rotor, we found position of notch and manufactured armature that is designed by optimizing analysis. The validity of the proposed design is confirmed with experiments.
