The combustion performance tests of a 30 tonf-class full-scale combustion chamber performed with kerosene as a coolant were described. The combustion chamber has chamber pressure of 53bara and propellant flow mass rate of 90kg/s. Since it was first firing test for 30tonf-class combustion chamber using kerosene cooling, kerosene coolant mass flow rate of 32kg/s which correspond to 120% of design mass flow rate were performed. Then, the firing test with kerosene mass flow rate of 25kg/s were successfully performed. The test results are described and the results showed that the kerosene cooling performance of this combustion chamber is sufficient and the firing test with regenerative cooling is feasible.
Recent warnings indicate that there is a potential risk of massive earthquake. These earthquakes could produce large-scale tsunamis. Consideration of the effect of Tsunami to the moored ship is very important bemuse it brings the loss of life and vast property damage in a viewpoint of ship operations within a harbor. If a tsunami occurs, a ship in a harbor may begin drifting in case of ship entering and departing harbor, and breakage of mooring rope and drifting of moored ship are happened. And extremely serious accident, such as stranding and collision to a quay, might occur. On the other hand, since the tsunami consists of approximately component waves of several minutes, there is a possibility of resonance with the long period motion of mooring vessel. As the speed of Tsunami is much faster than tidal current in a harbor, a strong resisting force might act on the moored ships. In this paper, the numerical simulation procedure in the matter of ship motions due to the attack of large-scale tsunamis are investigated and the effects on the ship motions and mooring loads are evaluated by numerical simulation.
Square slices of sea tangle was dried in hot air drier that could be controlled air temperature, relative humidity and air velocity. Under various drying conditions, drying and shrinking characteristics were investigated. 1) During drying sea, tangle, the constant rate period was nonexistant and the falling rate could be devided into a 2 periods, namely, a first falling rate period and a second falling rate period. 2) The tip part was proceeded more shrinkage than base part, and under drying condition of air temperature $50^{\circ}C$, relative humidity $30\%$, air velocity 0.4m/s, when the moisture content was reduced to $20\%$, the shrinking ratio of tip part, middle part and base part were 57.5, 54.0 and $42.7\%$, respectively. 3) The drying shrinking and drying rate increased with decreasing relative humidity, but when the moisture content was reduced to $20\%$, the shrinking ratio increased with increasing relative humidity.
In this study, standards and test methods for building materials of domestic and foreign countries were compared and analyzed to propose evaluation methods for the fire-retardant performance of HANOK components (Traditional house). IBC and NFPA codes recently have been adopted in the US, and the properties such as critical heat flux, fire spread index and smoke density are being used as an evaluation reference. In Europe, the unified Euroclass has been adopted and the surface flammability, prototype fire test or cone calorimeter test are conducted for the performance test. Japan has the similar system as Korea where the class is classified into 3 grades. We tried to study a quantitative evaluation method of fire retardant performance for the HANOK components based on the analysis results of the several countries' standards and test methods for building materials.
In this study, boiling heat transfer coefficients(HTCs) and critical heat flux(CHF) are measured on a smooth square flat copper heater in a pool of pure water with and without carbon nano tubes(CNTs) dispersed at $60^{\circ}C$. Tested aqueous nanofluids are prepared using multi-walled CNTs whose volume concentrations are 0.0001, 0.001, 0.01, and 0.05%. For dispersion of CNTs, polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP) is used in distilled water. Pool boiling HTCs are taken from $10kW/m^2$ to critical heat flux for all nanofluids. Test results show that the pool boiling HTCs of the nanofluids are lower than those of pure water in entire nucleate boiling regime. On the other hand, critical heat flux is enhanced greatly showing up to 200% increase at volume concentration of 0.001% CNTs as compared to that of pure water. This is related to the change of surface characteristics by the deposition of CNTs. This deposition makes a thin CNT layer on the surface and the active nucleation sites of heat transfer surface are decreased due to this layer. The thin layer acts as the thermal resistance and also decreases the bubble generation rate resulting in a decrease in pool boiling HTCs. The same layer, however, maintains the nucleate boiling even at very high heat fluxes and reduces the formation of large vapor canopy at near CHF resulting in a significant increase in CHF.
The local hydraulic characteristics in a single phase flow of a 6$\times$6 rod bundle with neighboring different spacer grids were measured by using a LDV(Laser Doppler Velocimeter) system. 6$\times$6 rod bundle is formed by two 3$\times$6 rod bundles with different spacer grids. The objective of this study in a rod bundle is to investigate the thermal-hydraulic interactions between different spacer grids with different configurations and resistance. By using a LDV system, the velocity and turbulent intensity in axial and horizontal directions ore measured. Pressure drop measurements ore also performed to evaluate the loss coefficient for the spacer grid and the friction factor for rod bundles. Implications concerning thermal mining due to spacer grids were investigated based on the hydraulic test results. Swirl factor, which is assumed as a qualitative criteria for DNB(departure from nucleate boiling), was defined and estimated from the horizontal velocity result.

The heat transfer and flow measurements from a convex curved surface to a circular impinging jet have been made. The flow at the nozzle exit has a fully developed velocity profile. The jet Reynolds number (Re) ranges from 11,000 to 50,000, the dimensionless nozzle-to-surface distance (L/d) from 2 to 10, and the dimensionless surface curvature (d/D) from 0.034 to 0.089. The results show that the stagnation point Nusselt number (N $u_{st}$ ) increases with increasing value of d/D. The maximum Nusselt number at the stagnation point occurs at L/d .ident. 6 to 8 for all Re's and d/D's tested. For larger L/d, N $u_{st}$ dependency on Re is stronger due to an increase of turbulence in the approaching jet as a result of the more active exchange of momentum with a surrounding air. The local Nusselt number decreases monotonically from its maximum value at the stagnation point. However, for L/d=2 and Re=23,000, and for L/d.leq.4 and Re=50,000, the stream wise Nusselt number distributions exhibit secondary maxima at r/d .ident. 2.2. The formation of the secondary maxima is attributed to an increase in the turbulence level resulting from the transition from a laminar to a turbulent boundary layer.ndary layer.

A two-phase closed thermosyphon was one of the most effective devices in the removing heat because of its simple structure, thermal diode characteristics, wide operating temperature range and so on. In this study, a two-phase closed thermosyphon(working fluid PFC(C6F14), container copper(inner grooved surface)) was fabricated with a reservoir which can change the fill charge ratio. The experiments were performed in the range of 50~600W heat flow rate and 10~70% fill charge ratio. The results were compared with some correlations that were presented by Rohsenow and Immura et al. in the evaporator, by Nusselt, Gross and Uehara et al. in the condenser and by Cohen and Bayley, Wallis, Kutateladze and Faghri et al. in heat transfer limitation etc.. The heat transfer coefficient at the evaporator increased with the input power. However the effect of the fill charge ratio was nearly negligible. At the condenser, it showed an opposite trend to the evaporator and with increase of the fill charge ratio, showed some enhancement of heat transfer. The heat transport limitation was occurred by the dry-out limitation for small fill charge ratio(10%) and presented about 100W. For the case of large fill charge ratio(Ψ$\geq$40%), it was occurred by the flooding limitation at about 500W.

This paper presents 3D simulation by STAR-CCM+ for lean premixed combustion in a stationary gas turbine combustor with separate pilot and main nozzles. The constant for the source term in the flame area density transport equation was modified to account for a low global equivalence ratio and validated against measurement data. A Partially-premixed Coherent Flame Model(PCFM) involves propagation of a laminar premixed flame with the predicted flame surface density and equilibrium assumption in the burned gas with spatial inhomogeneity. The conditions for cooling by radiation and convection are considered for accurate determination of the heat flux on the wall. A parametric study is of the pilot-fuel-to-total-fuel-ratio is carried out. A chemical reactor network (CRN) was constructed on the basis of the 3D simulation results and compared against measurements of NOx.
A transient heat transfer analysis and thermo-elastic analysis have been performed for the residual stress distribution on the fillet weldment used by finite element method. Specimen is fabricated single-pass fillet welding. This computation was performed for conditions including surface heat flux and temperature dependent thermo-physical properties using by heat input as parameter. Also, cut-off temperature of residual stress estimation by thermo-elastic analysis is determined. The fillet weldment were measured to determined their residual stress distributions for using hole-drilling method. As result, it was found that large tensile residual stress is about material yield strength, and the numerical simulation results for finite element method similar to residual stresses by hole-drilling method and other exiting research. Also, cut-off temperature is effectively determined by temperature which calculated maximum thermal stress equal to material yield strength.
