  • In order to develop the processes for the production of fermented feed from cellulosic agricultural by-product, cereal straw, by th action of cellulolytic fungus, the properties of the cellulolytic enzyme produced by Trichoderma sp. KI 7-2 was studied. A higher enzyme activity was obtained in the culture added by 1% rice or barley straw powder than in the culture of pure cellulose. The crude enzyme was prepared by precipitating from 20∼60% saturated ammonium sulphate of the culture supernatant. The optimum conditions for the enzyme reaction were temperature of of 50$^{\circ}C$ and pH 4.2. The crude enzyme was static at 50$^{\circ}C$ for two hours and at pH between 4 and 6. These properties were adopted for the fermented feed production, and several production. Thus, several processes of semisolid culture were devicced to up grade tile fermented feed and to develop into the acceptable quality.

Studies on the Protease procuced by Streptomyces sp. (Streptomyces 속균이 생산하는 Pretense에 관한 연구)

  • A strain of Streptomyces sp. which producing a metal containing proteolytic enzyme was isolated from soil and some properties of this enzyme were investigated. The following results were obtained. 1. Optimal pH and temperature of this enzyme were pH7.0 and 37$^{\circ}C$ 2. This enzyme was easily inactivated with heat treatment: for example, by the treatmentat 37$^{\circ}C$ for 100 minutes the activity of the enzyme was decreased to about 50 per cent of intial actively but this enzyme was stable at neutral pH. 3. The activity of this enzyme was not inhibited by $Mg^{++}$, $_Mn^{++}$, $Ca^{++}$, Pb$^{++}$, or $Ba^{++}$ ect. but strongly inhibited by Hg$^{++}$, Co$^{++}$, Ag$^{+}$, Cu$^{++}$, or Cd$^{++}$. 4. This enzyme was strongly inhibited by EDTA but was not inhibited by oxalic acid, citric acid, 2, 4-dinitrophenol, $\varepsilon$-aminocaproic acid, cysteine, or thiourea.

주요 외국주가와 우리나라 주가의 상관관계에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구는 선진국들의 주가변동이 우리나라 증시에 미치는 영향, 아시아 각국과 우리나라 주가변동의 상관관계, 우리나라와 이들 국가간 주가변동 상관관계의 시계열적 안정성, 우리나라와 이들 국가간 주가변동 전이의 방향 및 시차에 관하여 분석 하였다. 우리나라 증시 개방시점을 전후하여 1981년 1월$\sim$1991년 12월을 제1기간, 1992년 1월$\sim$1999년 8월을 제2기간으로 한 각국 주가지수의 월별수익률과 1999년 1월 4일$\sim$1999년 8월 24일 기간중 각국 주가지수의 일별수익률을 자료로 상관분석과 회귀분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리나라 증시에 영향을 미친 선진국으로는 제1기간중에는 영국, 일본, 미국의 순이며, 제2기간중에는 전적으로 일본과의 상관관계가 높게 나타났다. 특히 일본과의 상관관계는 제1기간보다도 제2기간중에 더욱 상승하였다. 또한 선진국들 간에는 독일, 영국, 프랑스 3국간 주가변동의 상관관계가 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 아시아 각국과 우리나라의 상관관계분석에서는 태국, 인도네시아, 말레이시아와는 상관관계가 높게 나타났으나, 대만, 싱가폴과는 상관관계가 비교적 낮게 나타났다. 그리고 아시아 각국간에는 홍콩, 말레이시아, 태국, 인도네시아 국가들의 상호간 상관관계가 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 상관관계의 시계열 안정성에 관한 분석에서는 1995년 이전까지는 전체적으로 우리나라와 각국간 주가변동의 상관관계가 낮거나 국가별로 매우 불안정한 상태를 나타내고 있으나, 1996년 이후부터는 상관관계가 점점 높아지는 추세에서 1998년도에만 우리나라의 IMF충격으로 인하여 일부국가들과의 상관관계가 일시적으로 낮아진 상태를 보이고 있다. 개별국가별로는 우리나라와 일본과의 상관관계가 지속적으로 높아지고 있으며 태국, 인도네시아와는 IMF사태이후 크게 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 주가변동방향 및 시차분석에서는 미국, 영국, 독일의 주가변동이 1일의 시차를 두고 우리나라에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 일본을 비롯한 동남아 각국과 우리나라간에는 주가변동에 시차가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 각국간 표준시차 및 거래소 거래시간을 고려하면 미국, 영국, 독일의 경우에도 그 시차는 1일이내이거나 거의 시차가 없는 것으로 판단된다.

  • 투어멀린(Tourmaline)은 비대칭 쌍극자를 가진 유극성 결정체로 광물 중에서 영구적으로 전기분극의 특성을 띄고 있는 유일한 물질로써 일명 "전기석"이라고 알려져 있고, 자체의 미약전류(약 0,06mA)와 함께 음이온 및 원적외선의 발생으로 최근 들어 우리 주변에서 건강과 환경을 위한 관심고조의 대상인 육방정계의 압전성 및 초전성을 띄는 붕규산염(주요성분: Mg, Fe, B, Si, Ca)으로, 원석(면역지수 ~1000)에 비해 수백 배의 효력이 있는 투어말린 세라믹(면역지수 ~418,000)을 비롯하여 이것을 이용한 새로운 아이디어 신상품들이 계속 개발되고 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 물분자를 만나면 수소(H$^{+}$)와 수산기(OH$^{-}$)로 전기분해하여 친수기와 소수기 부분으로 구분하며, H$^{+}$와 OH$^{-}$는 각각 $H_2O$와 결합하여 활성이 강한 hydronium ion(H$_3$O$^{+}$ 과 계면활성 작용이 있는 hydroxyl ion(H$_3$O$_2$$^{-}$)을 생성하며, 물속에서 계속 불안정한 상태로 존재하는 수산기는 hydroxyl (-)ion을 형성하여 약 알카리성(pH~7.4)을 띄고 물의 클러스터 세분화와 미네랄을 공급해 줌으로 체내에 들어오면 살균, 항균능력이 있는 면역기능을 갖게 되며, 혈액을 정화하고 자율신경을 자극하여 교감신경의 흥분을 억제한. 이와 함께 전기분극을 띈 투어멀린 입자는 다른 물질에 비하여 경이적 수치의 원적외선을 발생하여 강력한 열 효과와 높은 침투력으로 인체의 혈액순환 촉진과 혈전용해 작용으로 건강과 활력에 도움을 주는 것으로 확인되어 많은 관심을 끌고 있다. 따라서 유익한 이용가치를 인정받고 있는 투어멀린을 유용한 타 물질과 혼합물을 구성하여 성형 또는 EPD 전착하여 소결한 뒤, 소결체의 특성을 분석하여 그 응용성을 개발, 확보하였다.

Fracture of Multiple Flaws in Uniaxial Compression (일축압축 상태하 다중 불연속면의 파괴에 대한 연구)

  • Gypsum blocks with sixteen flaws have been prepared and tested in uniaxial compression. Results from these experiments are compared with observations from the same material with two and three flaws. The results indicate that the cracking pattern observed in specimens wish multiple flaws is analogous to the pattern obtained in specimens with two and three flaws such as initiation and propagation of wing, and secondary cracks and coalescence. Wing cracks initiate at an angle with the flaw and propagate in a stable manner towards the direction of maximum compression. Secondary cracks initiate and propagate in a stable manner. As the load is increased, secondary cracks may propagate in an unstable manner and produce coalescence. Two types of secondary cracks are observed: quasi-coplanar, and oblique secondary cracks. Coalescence is produced by the linkage of two flaws: wing and/or secondary cracks. From the sixteen flaws test, four types of coalescence are observed. Observed types of coalescence and initiation stress of wing and secondary crackle depend on flaw geometries, such as spacing, continuity, flaw inclination angle, ligament angle, and steppings.

  • Automotive manufacturers have recently developed various technologies for improving fuel economy and satisfying enhanced emission regulations. The ultra-lean direct injection engine is a promising technology because it has the advantage of improving thermal efficiency through the deliberate control of ignition. A conventional LPG engine has been redesigned to an ultra-lean-burn LPG direct injection engine in order to adopt combustion system of ultra-lean-burn. This study is aimed at investigating the effect of a change in the compression ratio on the performance and emission characteristics of a lean-burn LPG engine. The fuel consumption, heat release rate, combustion pressure, and emission characteristics are estimated depending on changing the effect of compression ratio. When the compression ratio is increased, it is difficult to improve the fuel consumption owing to an unstable combustion state, but the total hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced.

Antibacterial Activity by Lactobacillus bulgaricus SP5 against Pathogenic Bacteria (병원성 미생물에 대한 Lactobacillus bulgaricus SP5의 항균활성)

  • This study was carried out to get basic resources for the industrial use of Lactobacillus bulgaricus SP5. The antibacterial activity of the supernatant obtained from Lactobacillus bulgaricus SP5 was tested against the pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli KCCM 11234, Salmonella enteritidis KCCM 3313, Salmonella enteritidis KCCM 12021, and Salmonella typhimurium KCCM 40253. The supernatant of L. bulgaricus SP5 showed antibacterial activity against tested pathogenic bacteria. The antibacterial activity was examined after adjusting pH and heat treatment of supernatant. Heat treatment of supernatant had antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria at all temperature. However, pH changes showed no antibacterial activity. Antibacterial activity of the supernatant was confirmed to be due to organic acids (lactic, acetic, phosphoric, succinic, pyroglutamic, citric, malic, and formic acid).

Acoustic Field Analysis of a Combustor-nozzle System with a Premixing Chamber (예혼합실을 갖는 연소-노즐 시스템의 음향장 해석)

  • This paper deals with an acoustic model for a lean premixed gas turbine combustor composed of three stages: premixing chamber, nozzle and flame tube. Our model is given as an acoustic transfer function whose input is a heat release rate perturbation and output is a velocity perturbation at a flame location. We have shown that the resonance frequencies are functions of three round-trip frequencies of acoustic wave in each stage, and area ratios between stages. By analyzing poles of the acoustic transfer function, we could characterize resonant frequencies and their dependency on various system parameters of a combustor. It was found that our analytic findings match with existing numerical and experimental results in literature.

  • Some problems such as toughness decrement and stess relief cracking (SRC), many occur when post weld heat treatment (PWHT) is applied to remove residual stress adn hydrogen. In this paper PWHT was carried out under the stress of 0, 98, 196 and 294 MPa (0, 10, 20 and 30kgf/mm$^{2}$ each) to simulate residual stress in HAZ of Cr-Mo steel. The effect of applied stress during PWHT on fracture toughness was evaluated by COD fracture toughness test, micro-hardnes test and observation of SEM. The experimental results are as follows; (1) Fracture toughness of weld HAZ was improved by PWHT, but it decreased as heat treated under the stress. (2)Hardness ratio under the stress of 294MPa (30kg/mm$^{2}$) was lower and fracture toughness was decreased than that of the no stress. (3) Applied stress in weld HAZ during PWHT assisted precipitation of over saturated alloying elements in the structure, so fracture surface at the stress of 294MPa (30kg/mm$_{2}$) appeared the grain boundary failure possibly one of the reasons for PWHT embrittlenment.

Design and Control of Ball Robot capable of Driving Control by Wireless Communication (무선통신을 이용한 주행 제어가 가능한 볼 로봇의 설계 및 제어)

  • Recently, according to improvement of robot technology, research for mobile robot is increasing. Mobile robot having 2-wheels or 4-wheels is easy for straight driving but is difficult for direction change and rotation. So, ball robot having one contact point with base is interested by researchers. By characteristics of the one contact, ball robot is required the balancing and driving control. In this paper, smart phone application, which is usable for control by wireless communication, is proposed. The ball robot having the proposed smart phone application is designed and manufactured. Balancing and driving control by wireless communication is conducted. From the test, it is conformed that ball robot has the control performances as roll angle error is ±0.8deg, pitch angle error is ±0.7deg, x-axis position error is ±0.1m, and y-axis position error is ±0.08m for 1m driving control.
