A Study for burning behavior of Hydro-Reactive metal fuel using Ultrasound (초음파를 이용한 해수반응 연료의 연소거동 고찰 연구)

  • Hydro-Reactive metal Fuel (HRF) which has more fuel than general solid propellant reducing oxidizing agent is suitable for ultrahigh speed rocket motor in the water. However, burning rate of HRF has not been studied yet. Through the earlier studies, we established ultrasonics measurement system measuring burning rate of solid propellant as a function of pressure in a single test and verified its reliability. In this paper, we will measure burning rate of HRF using ultrasound with previous development measurement system.

  • An experimental study of the flame response in a turbulent premixed combustor has been conducted in order to investigate mechanisms for combustion instabilities in a lean premixed gas turbine combustor. A lab-scale combustor and mixing section system were fabricated to measure the flame transfer function. Measurements are made of the velocity fluctuation in the nozzle using hot wire anemometry and of the heat release fluctuation in the combustor using chemiluminescence emission. The results show that the flame transfer functions are greatly dependent on the modulation frequency as well as operating conditions such as equivalence ratio. Flame dynamics can be generalized as a function of Strouhal number which is a ratio of flame length to modulation wave length.

  • 조연제종류 및 함량 변화가 궐련지의 연소성과 회색상에 미치는 영향을 연구한 결까 flax와 kenaf의 연소속도 띤 회고결성이 NBKP보다 양호하였으며 탄산칼숨 함량이 증가함에 따라 각 펄프 공히 연소속도는 빨라지나 회고결성은 저하되었다. 구연산·초산·주석산나트륨은 첨가량이 3%까지 증가되어도 연소속도에는 큰차가 없으나 4호이상부터 빨라지는경향이었다. 인산나트륨은 함량이 증가하면서 연소속봉는 늦어진 반면 회고결성은 양호해졌다. 구연산나트룸에 요소·푸말산나트륨·인산암모늄·인산·말레인산나트륨 및 guanyl urea phosphate를 첨가시 인산암모늄의 회죈변동율이 170%로 회고결성이 가장 양호하였으나 연소속도는 대체로 늦어지는 경향이다. 조연제의 함량이 증가함에 따라 회의 백색도는 55전후에서 30으로 감소하는 경향이다.

  • 본 연구에서는 층류 연소속도 측정을 노즐 버너로 형성된 분젠화염에서 각도법과 면적법을 이용하여 다양한 조성비를 갖는 합성가스의 층류 연소속도를 실험적으로 측정하였다. 수행된 연구의 합성가스 조성비는 $H_2:CO$ 비가 10:90%, 25:75%, 50:50%, 75:25%이며, 당량비는 이전 연구와의 비교를 위해 0.5에서 1.4까지 수행하였다. 측정된 층류 연소속도는 수행된 다양한 조성비와 당량비 범위에서 수치계산 결과와 타 연구자들의 실험 결과 값들과 잘 일치하였다. 본 연구에서도 층류 연소속도는 $H_2$ 함유량 증가와 함께 증가됨을 알 수 있었으며, 연소속도의 중요한 증가 현상은 당량비의 증가로 확인되었다.

A Study of Flame Visualization of the APU Gas Turbine Engine Sector Combustor (APU용 가스터빈 엔진 분할연소기의 화염가시화 연구)

  • In order to see flame behavior in the annular reverse gas turbine combustor, sector combustion test was performed. Ignition test by using torch ignition system was carried out at various combustor inlet velocity and air fuel ratio. Also, flame blow out limit was measured by changing fuel flow rate with constant air mass flow rate. In test results, stable ignition is possible at air excess ratio of 6 and this limit is gradually increased with combustor inlet velocity. The minimum blow out limit is about 4 at 40 m/s of combustor inlet velocity. This blow out limit is also increased up to about 10 with increasing combustor inlet velocity. Test result shows that lean blow out limits are increased with air velocity. The highest blow out limit was found at the combustor inlet velocity of 65 m/s.

  • 자체연소반응법에 의하여 탄화붕소(B4C)를 합성함에 있어서 자체적으로는 반응이 이루어지지 않아서 간접점화법인 화학로법(Chemical Furnace)으로 합성을 하였으며, 성형압력과 몰비를 변수로 하여 연소온도 및 연소속도의 변화를 측정하였다. 성형밀도가 이론밀도의 70%에서 연소온도와 연소속도가 가장 높았으며, 몰비에 대한 영향은 표준비였을 때 연소온도와 연소속도가 가장 높았다. 그리고 성형밀도에 따른 입자의 크기변화는 성형밀도가 높을수록 입자의 크기는 작아졌으며 따라서 비표면적은 커졌다.

  • 액체렘제트 엔진에서는 고온·고속의 공기가 공기흡입구로 유입되기 때문에 고성능 램제트 연소기의 설계를 위하여 실제 비행조건을 모사할 수 있는 고온 고속의 공기 발샐장치가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 수소연소에 의해 Vitiated Air를 발생시키도록 설계된 Vitiated Air Heater(VAH)를 제작하였으며, VAH의 성능평가를 통하여 80∼120m/s 와 400∼800K 범위에서 손쉽게 속도와 온도의 조절이 가능하고 균일한 속도 및 온도분포로 대기공기와 같은 Vitiated Air를 얻을 수 있었다. 그리고 VAH을 연결하여 Dump형 연소기의 특성을 실험하였다. 액체 램제트 엔진에 있어서 공기흡입구가 하나인 Dump형 연소기에 주요변수로서 흡입공기의 온도와 공연비를 변화시키면서 연소기내의 화염형상을 관찰하고, 온도분포를 계측하였으며 Injection 위치에 따른 화염현상을 관찰하였다. 각 경우의 연소효율을 계산하여 실험범위에서의 최적 연소조건을 제시하였다.

A Numerical Analysis on Combustion Characteristics of the Gasoline Engine using Methanol Reformulated Fuels under WOT Condition (전부하 운전조건에서 메탄올 개질연료를 사용한 가솔린 엔진의 연소특성에 대한 수치해석)

  • This research is to decide the possibility of using RM50(reformulated methanol fuel) without any modification of engine by the method of numerical analysis. Comparing the heat release rate, the difference among each fuel was decreased according to the increase of the engine speed, and the maximum heat release rate was higher in the order of RM50 and gasoline fuel. Also, this order corresponds to the order of burning speed. RM50 had the higher turbulent burning speed, and the curve of turbulent intensity was showed similar tendency to the curve of turbulent burning speed. RM50 had relatively high burning speed, short quenching length, high temperature in cylinder, so that it might increase NO emission, but owing to chemical reaction dynamics, it was decreased NO emission. Therefore, in order to predict the possibility of using RM50, it is needed to consider not only the temperature in cylinder by low heating value, but also combustion characteristics including burning speed.

  • A typical unsteady internal ballistic analysis model was proposed to take account of the erosive burning for a solid rocket motor. The variance of local velocity and pressure along grain surface are analyzed by using the continuity and momentum equation. The model introduced in this study showed good agreements with the results of previous internal ballistics program. It was investigated that the change of combustion pressure, gas velocity and regrestion rate along the grain axis.
