  • 최근 빈번하게 발생하고 있는 사우나 등의 열을 방사하는 도크내에서 발생하는 화재사고는 다중이용업소를 이용하는 불특정한 사람들의 생명을 위협하고 있는 수준에 도달하고 있다. 특히 이런 시설의 화재는 화재발생 후에 소방대에 의한 진압에만 치중하고 있어 향후 계속하여 화재가 발생할 우려가 큼에도 불구하고 착화원인을 규명하는데 소홀히 하고있다. 특히 현장감식에 의한 육안조사만을 실시하여 화재원인을 추정하거나 설정하는 경우가 대부분이라 근본적인 대책을 세우지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 육안조사 등에 의하여 설정한 착화원인을 과학적인 분석법 즉, EU국가에서 널리 사용하는 CFD(컴퓨터수치해석)시뮬레이션 S/W를 사용하여 연소모델링에 의한 검증조사기법을 적용하여 원인을 검증하는데 사용하여 국내화재조사기술의 과학화를 시도하였다.

Modeling of Coke Combustion and Heat Transfer in an Iron Ore Sintering Bed with Considerations of Multiple Solid Phases (다중 고체상을 고려한 소결기의 코크스 연소-열전달 모델링)

  • In this study we propose an unsteady I-dimensional model of an iron ore sintering bed with multiple solid phases, which confers a phase on each solid material. This model contains coke combustion, limestone decomposition, gaseous reaction, heat transfers between each phase, and geometric changes of the solid particles. Simulation results are compared with the limited experimental data set of various coke contents and air supply rates. Effect of the coke diameter is also evaluated. They predict the experimental results well and show applicabilities to the various system of the fuel bed with various solid materials.

  • To simulate the combustion process under stratified charged conditions, like GDI engines, the new combustion model is proposed, which is based on Welter's FAE model and Peters' PDF model for considering primary reactions. In addition to these models, the new laminar burning velocity correlation and diffusion flame model are also included in the proposed model. The former can be applicable to much wider range of equivalence ratio, pressure and temperature than the others, such as Keck's and Guilder's models, and the latter has been derived from water-gas shift reaction and hydrogen oxidation, by which the secondary reactions can be considered after primary reactions. 3-D computation has been performed by using STAR-CD v3.05 in the simple cylindrical geometry under stratified charged condition. Judging from the calculated results, the present model proves to be reasonable to simulate the characteristics of flame propagation and concentrations of products in burned regions.

  • 복합재 연소관과 노즐을 기계적 체결방법으로 결합하면 결합부위에서 재료의 불연속성과 기하학적 불연속성으로 인한 높은 응력집중이 발생해 구조적으로 매우 취약하게 됩니다. 복합재 연소관의 경우에는 내압을 받는 원통형 구조물이므로 기존의 평판에 대한 연구결과를 그대로 사용할수 없으므로, 이 글에서는 복합재 셀 구조물의 응력 및 파손 해석을 수행할수 있도록 1차전단변형 셀이론을 이용한 유한요소해석 프로그램을 개발하였습니다. 기계적체결부위의 모델링에 대해 검토하였으며 복합재료의 파손평가에 사용되는 여러가지 파손식을 적용해 비교하였습니다. 이 해석 방법을 이용해 복합재 연소관의 적층각, 볼트직경, 연소관의 끝단까지의 길이 등이 파손하중에 미치는 영향을 제시하였습니다

  • Sintering bed of iron ore in the steel making process is one of typical applications of solid fuel bed, which has relatively uniform progress of fuel and simple processes of combustion. The sintering bed was modelled as an unsteady one-dimensional progress of fuel layer containing the two phases of solid and gas. Cokes added to the raw mix of which the amount is about 3.5% of the total weight was assumed to form a single particle with other components. In the early predition results presented in this paper, the flame propagation within the bed was not sustained after the top surface of the bed was ignited with hot gas. It suggests that the model should be extended to consider the multiple solid phase, which can treat the ore particles and the coke particles separately.

  • Efficient numerical analysis of combustion induced by premixed swirl multi-burners in a gas turbine combustor is conducted by adopting swirler model. By analyzing the internal recirculation zone, the inner and outer diameters of the swiler are determined to be 28 mm and 76mm to 28mm, respectively. Tangential velocity of 35m/s is determined from swirl and recirculation angles. With swirler model adopted, the predicted temperature of combustion gas agrees well with that from single-burner calculation without the model. But, NOx emission is underestimated by 60 %.

  • Dual-fuel engines are being researched with emphasis on the possible types of natural gas supply systems. Hence, a three-dimensional combustion model by using finite volume method was developed to provide a fundamental understanding of the auto-ignition of pilot distillate and subsequent burning of natural gas, when the natural gas as well as the distillate was directly injected into a quiescent diesel engine like combustion bomb tests and the numerical results were investigated for the mixed combustion phenomena. With high-pressure natural gas injection, it was found that the gaseous fuel injection characteristics had to be well harmonised with that of the pilot distillate. For better combustion efficiency, however, further researches are required for the optimisation of injection system in the existence of air motion.

  • The current study has developed an in-house 3D FEM code in order to model thermoacoustic problems in a gas turbine combustion system and compared calculation results of main instability characteristics with measured ones from a lab-scale partially-premixed combustor. From the comparison of calculation results with the measured data, the current model could successfully capture the harmonic longitudinal instability frequencies and their spatial distributions of the acoustic field as well as the growth rate of self-excited modes.

  • Present paper introduces the research activities on fuel-air mixing and combustion of supersonic turbulent flows in scramjet combustor carried out in Aerospace Combustion and Propulsion Laboratory of the department of Aerospace Engineering of the Pusan national University. Also, an introduction will be given to the characteristics of the supercritical hydrocarbon fuel combustion in a practical scramjet engine and its numerical modeling approaches.

  • In this paper, prototype dynamic modeling scheme to control ramjet propulsion systems were proposed. From the physical understandings of engine system, a typical 2nd-order system model was applied to simulate the dynamic characteristics of fuel supply system. The shock location varience in diffuser to chamber pressure fluctuation is calculated so that the out of phase between two signals was observed.
