Finite Element Analysis of Electromechanical Field of a Spindle Motor in a Computer Hard Disk Drive Considering Speed Control Using PWM and Mechanical Flexibility (PWM에 의한 속도 제어와 유연 구조를 고려한 컴퓨터 하드디스크 드라이브용 스핀들 모터의 기전 연성 유한 요소 해석)

  • This paper presents a finite element analysis of the electromechanical field in the spindle motor of a computer hard disk drive considering the speed control and mechanical flexibility. The driving circuit equation is modified by considering the switching action of PWM inverter, and is coupled with the Maxwell equation to obtain the nonlinear time-stepping finite element equation for the analysis of magnetic field. Magnetic force and torque are calculated by the Maxwell stress tensor. Mechanical motion of a rotor is determined by a time-stopping finite element method considering the flexibility of shaft, rotor and bearing. Both magnetic and mechanical finite element equations are combined in the closed loop to control the speed using PWM. Simulation results are verified by the experiments, and they are in food agreement with the experimental results.

  • In this study, one-way fluid structure interaction analysis(FSI) on wind turbine blade was performed. Both a quantitative fluid analysis on 3-bladed wind turbine and a structural analysis using the surface pressure data resulting from fluid analysis were carried out. Streamlines and angle of attack was easily acquired from analysis results, we showed the inlet velocity that the stall begins to occur. In the structural analysis, structural displacement and maximum stress of the two comparative models was calculated. The location that has maximum stress was found. The pressure difference between back and front part of the blade increases as the inlet velocity increase. The torque and maximum with regard to inlet velocity was also presented.

  • 전력용 개폐장치인 진공차단기의 차단부가 송배전 시스템에 30 [kA] 정도의 커다란 사고전류가 흐르는 것을 방지하기 위하여 동작될 때 차단부 내부 전극 사이에 25,000 [K] 이상의 아크 플라즈마가 발생하게 된다. 두 전극 사이에 발생된 아크 플라즈마는 약 10 ms~20 ms 동안 지속되다가 교류전원의 전류영점 부근에서 회복된 절연성능으로 인하여 자연스럽게 소멸되지만, 대전류 구간동안 아크 플라즈마의 집중 현상 등에 의하여 전극의 심각한 손상 등이 발생되면 절연성능이 요구된 만큼 회복되지 못하여 사고전류를 차단하지 못하며 시스템에 연결된 기기들에게 심각한 손상을 입히고 정전사고를 일으킨다. 본 연구에서는 전자계-열유동 연성해석기법을 이용한 축자계 진공차단부에서 발생하는 아크 플라즈마의 3차원 수치해석을 통하여 전극의 심각한 손상을 입히는 아크플라즈마의 집중 현상에 관한 축자계의 영향을 고찰하고자 한다. 수치해석을 위한 아크 영역은 양극과 음극의 직경과 같은 직경의 원기둥으로 가정하였고, 전자계 해석으로부터 얻어진 로렌츠 힘과 줄열을 열유동 해석을 위한 Navier-Stokes 방정식의 파라미터로 입력하여 해석을 수행함으로써 전자계와 유체역학적인 영역을 동시에 연계한 순차적 일방향 연성해석 기법을 적용하였다. 컵형 축자계 진공차단부 내 아크영역에서의 로렌츠 힘의 특성과 온도분포에 대하여 수치해석을 수행하였고, 크기가 다른 두 로렌츠 힘에 의하여 양극표면으로 집중되는 온도분포의 크기를 비교함으로써 진공아크 플라즈마의 집중현상에 영향을 미치는 주요 요소를 규명할 수 있었다.

  • Applying a general coupled lateral and torsional vibration finite element model of gear pair element, this paper intends to look into in detail the coupled lateral and torsional vibration characteristics of a turbo-chiller rotor bearing system, having a bull-pinion speed increasing gear. Investigations have been carried out systematically by comparing the uncoupled and coupled natural frequencies and their mode shapes upon varying the gear mesh stiffness with considerations on rotating speeds, and also by comparing the strain energies of lateral and torsional vibration modes. Results hale shown that some modes may hale the coupled lateral and torsional mode characteristics as the gear mesh stiffness Increases over a certain value, and moreover that their associated dominant modes may be different from their initial modes, j.e., a certain dominant mode may change from an initial torsional one to a lateral one or from an initial lateral one to a torsional one.

Bird Strike Analysis and Test Report of Dummy and Real Blade Antenna (더미 및 실 블레이드 안테나 조류충돌 해석 및 시험)

  • The objectives of this study is to carry out Bird strike analysis and tests of a blade antenna of aircraft. FEMs (Finite Element Models) were created for the analysis, while dummy and real antennas were used for the bird strike tests. In the analysis, birds were modeled with SPH (Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics) method, and the behaviors of the bird, antenna, and joint structure between antenna and aircraft fuselage were simulated with the FSI (Fluid-Structure Interaction) method. After the bird strike test was performed, the results of the analysis and test showed that they had a positive relationship. The damage of antenna and bolted joint was checked, and the structural integrity of the airframe was proved.

  • When concrete is confined, its strength is enhanced by confining stress. Thus, increasing confining stress makes concrete strength higher. But a brittle failure may occur in hollow RC(Reinforced Concrete) column although its concrete is confined by transverse reinforcements. This brittle failure results from the absence of internal confinement and it decreases the strength and the ductility of a hollow RC column. To overcome this brittle failure problem, a hollow RC column which has a internal steel tube was developed. In this study, an experiment was performed to investigate the existence of to internal confinement by a settled steel tube. Thirty six specimens were tested and test results show the existence of internal confinement by the increase of concrete strength.

  • This study proposed the applicability of inverse stiffness method on the seismic design for steel frame with buckling restrained braces and the design results were compared with former research's. The concept of this method is simple and efficient. Furthermore it is able to reflect the high mode's effect and control the ductility factors of each story individually. Design results using the proposed method showed that according to increase of the given target drift, the areas of brace generally decreased but partially increased in some stories of the tall structure with very large ductility. And the post yield stiffness ratio's variation had more effect on the design results in the small post yield stiffness ratio.

  • A fuzzy digital controller is combined an autopilot system for compensating the cross coupling effect of the induced roll due to the dynamic characteristic of three fin torpedo. However the utilization of fuzzy chip has many interfacing problems with typical microprocessors of the guidance and control unit. Since a fuzzy digital controller on a microprocessor uses a finite word length A/D converters arul D/A converters, ADC and DAC may generate nonlinear effects such as deadband and limit cycle phenomena. In this paper, the robustness of fuzzy digital controller is tested with ADC a finite word length.

  • 본 논문에서는 칼라 영상을 이용하여 인간의 감성을 인식할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 칼라 영상으로부터 피부색 추출방법을 이용하여 얼굴을 추출한다 그 다음, 추출된 얼굴 영상으로부터 인간 얼굴의 특징 점(눈썹, 눈, 코, 입)들을 추출하는 방법과 각 특징 점들 간의 구조적인 관계로부터 인간의 감성(기쁨, 놀람, 슬픔, 분노)을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 퍼지 추론을 기반으로 하여 인간의 감성을 인식한다. 마지막으로, 제안된 방법은 실험을 통해 그 응용 가능성을 확인한다.

  • The research was conducted for the purpose of examining the dynamic characteristics of train wheel at the running state and preventing the vibrations of the high speed railway. The stress at the boundary surface of web and rim, .sigma./sub c/, was analyzed in consideration of the uniform In-plane compressive stress depending on the conditions of rolling and the rotation of train wheel. Then the equation of transverse vibration of the annular plate with the stepped thickness was analyzed by Rayleigh-Ritz's method.
